Question: Getting married...can I have a judge and not a priest? Posted: 11 Jan 2017 03:08 PM PST Me and my fiance are not religious so we want to get married by a judge and not a priest. Can they do this? Like judges I mean, can they marry people? We are also getting married in January in a winter garden (flowers inside a room with frozen glass on the outside - so pretty) so I think a judge, or even a justice of the peace, would fit better. |
Question: What is a traditional Iraqi wedding like? Posted: 11 Jan 2017 12:59 PM PST I am an Iraqi girl born in America and I've gone to a few weddings but I have yet to see something that isn't similar to Iraqi weddings. What does the bride wear? Are there any special ceremonies? Since I live in America I'm quite disconnected from my culture and I want to learn about it. |
Question: My fiance is ignoring me? We ve been engaged for two months now? Posted: 11 Jan 2017 08:17 AM PST He keeps our conversations super short. Reads my text messages and doesn t respond .. he says everything is okay but it s not. He says he s busy but that s never stopped him from talking to me before. It all happened so fast..one morning he was my loving fiancé and that night after he got back from the gym he was acting super cold/distant. Idk what happened at the gym that night. I just want him to be honest with me about his emotions. |
Question: Getting married without a proposal ? Posted: 11 Jan 2017 01:34 AM PST What I wonder and wNt to know it's if now days men don't propose no more? My boyfriend and I have been talking about marriage, he even asked me to go look at rings but he haven't propose yet. We have a kid together and I take care of his other son. Would that be it why he's not proposing. Would it be ok if he don't propose? Is it a bad idea to ask for my hand since we live together and my mom lives with us? |
Question: Is it normal to have a photographer photo your wedding proposal? Posted: 11 Jan 2017 01:33 AM PST I know it's common to have a photographer at the actual wedding of course, but is it normal to actually hire a photographer to photo you when you propose to your girlfriend? I mean to follow you guys around and take pictures while you pop the question and get down on one knee and present the ring? I am the only one who thinks that's kind of odd and just for show? I would think in a typical proposal it would just happen in the moment and you wouldn't of hired some guy to follow you with a camera. I don't know, is that normal? |
Question: Describe your perfect marriage proposal? Posted: 11 Jan 2017 01:31 AM PST im bored. |
Question: What is the average time between a proposal and a wedding? Posted: 11 Jan 2017 01:28 AM PST Like, when he proposes to you, about how long is it until the wedding? |
Question: I ruined my proposal :(? Posted: 11 Jan 2017 01:23 AM PST My boyfriend of 5 years and I are going to Hawaii this summer with his family. We're 25 and have said we were going to get engaged this year. I'm very happy and relieved to know that it's happening. However, it seems to have made me overly confident.. My mom asked me if I thought he was going to propose in Hawaii and I said, "I don't know. I kind of hope not because I'd be there with his family and not mine." She said, "I thought the same thing. Maybe you can drop hints that you wouldn't want to be proposed there." Well last night, I bluntly said to him "Can I ask you a question? Can you not propose in Hawaii?" He stared at me and asked Why. I explained myself and quickly realized HE WAS GOING TO PROPOSE IN HAWAII. He looked like he just got slapped in the face. I said "..what did I just say..." He said, "I didn't think of that.. I talked to your dad and I told him my plan. He said it was a good idea." I thought... then why did my mom suggest I try to nudge him in another direction? I quickly regretted saying ANYTHING. Who am I to take a proposal away from the guy? Who wouldn't want to be proposed to in Hawaii? He explained that although it isn't traditional to have the parents there, it was a way of getting us somewhere we couldn't afford on our own and after a few days, I'd be home celebrating with my family and spending the next year or 2 planning our wedding with them. What should I do? He said Hawaii is out although I keep insisting to keep it! |
Question: When do i get on my knee during the proposal speech? Posted: 11 Jan 2017 01:22 AM PST I've got the ring, i've got the speech prepared..... but when do i get on my knee? Do i get on one knee at the start of my speech, or do i only get down when i ask the specific question "will you marry me?' and produce the ring? Argh i need help! |
Question: Which hand for proposal? Posted: 11 Jan 2017 01:19 AM PST ok so here's a dumb question: when getting proposed to, which hand do you give him to put the ring on? xD |

Posted: 11 Jan 2017 12:51 AM PST We were going to get the hotel staff to put rose petals in the Bride and Groom's room during the reception so they have a nice surprise when they go back to their room at the end of the night. However the hotel has said they dont allow rose petals to be scattered anywhere in the room. So we need some other ideas. We thought of champagne but thats a bit boring... any ideas? |
Question: What would be a great surprise for my bride on our wedding day? Posted: 11 Jan 2017 12:47 AM PST I want to find a great surprise for my wife on our wedding day. She is very involved with our wedding, so, it has to be somewhat discreet(or I could also get the wedding planner involved). She is a very fun out going person, and I want to do something that will make this day even better. Any ideas? |
Question: Is it ok to propose with a promise for an engagement ring? Posted: 11 Jan 2017 12:17 AM PST My boyfriend and I exchanged promise rings a couple years ago. We have since been talking about marriage and getting engaged. I was wondering if it would be a bad thing to use my promise ring as an engagement ring? I love my ring and it s a very nice ring, I don t see a point in sticking it in a box and never wearing it again (I don t like wearing a lot of jewelry so wearing it on my other hand isn t much of an option) just to spend a bunch of money on a new ring. I m wondering if it would be frowned upon? I was trying to think of other things he can propose with since he wouldn t have the ring but can t think of anything. No rude comments please. I m not a materialistic type person so I don t need a guy to propose with some big flashy ring for me to say yes. |
Question: Is it ok to text during a wedding ceremony? Posted: 11 Jan 2017 12:08 AM PST One of my cousin's got married on Saturday and I saw a lady on the groom's side texting. I looked over to her six times and every time she was texting. Is this ok or is it somewhat rude? |
Question: How do I tell my sister I don't want to be in her wedding? Posted: 10 Jan 2017 11:56 PM PST My sister is getting married in April and for some odd reason she asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. We have always hated each other and probably always will. Anyway I don't want to be in her wedding because I don't like her and her fiance is a complete loser. How do I tell her without sounding like a b*tch? |
Question: Can you have a married bridesmaid? Posted: 10 Jan 2017 08:21 PM PST iI know that if your maid of honor is married, you call them a Maitren of Honor. But can you have just a bridesmaid that is married? Or are they traditionally single? Cause I've never heard of a Brides Maitren. |

Question: What Does a Prenup Say to You About Your Potential Spouse? Posted: 10 Jan 2017 04:30 PM PST Many people seem to throw a lot of shade on the topic of prenuptial agreements before marriages, which comes as no surprise given what a prenup typically stipulates. However, what does that contract imply about a potential partner? Moreover, since not providing or allowing your spouse to touch any (or very few) of your assets is generally considered a "jerk move", what do you have to say about trusts? Of course, a prenup is not the only means of protection and assurance. Some entrepreneurs - at least, the smart ones - operate their businesses and whatnot through trusts, as beneficiaries, trustees, or sometimes both. But why would this ever be an issue in marital relationships, and what does it say about a person? I ask these weird questions because of something my teacher said to a friend of mine and me. Long-story-short, she basically spoke about her personal experience with her marriage and provided us with her opinion, where the convo basically ended with the conclusion that prenups aren't sexy, and sometimes seem unfair. BUT, my question is, why would someone take offense to that if they have no motives? A relationship is a relationship; a marriage is a bond, and if the *initial AND long-term* intention is honest and without ulterior motives (i.e., marry, accumulate, divorce & take half of everything, etc.), what is there to worry about, especially why one is not physically losing anything? |
Question: Sample vows for a bride to her 3 year old stepdaughter? Posted: 10 Jan 2017 11:52 AM PST I am getting married and I want to include my stepdaughter in the ceremony. She's only 3 so I know she can't say a whole lot, but I want to make a commitment to her too. Any suggestions or sample vows I can customize to fit our situation? It's to make her feel included. I'm not "seeking attention" nor am I parading her like a "trained animal". It's something for her to look back on when she's older. Please only offer help and not criticism. This is a happy occasion not to be be dimmed by people's opinions. This is simply a question for help. Simple. I DON'T WANT HER TO COMMIT TO ME. I AM COMMITTING TO BEING THE BEST MOTHER I CAN TO HER AND COMBINING OUR FAMILY AS ONE. How that is "inappropriate" I will never understand... |
