My friend is always checking one me and this was just one of those unbearable days.. , I was telling him how stressed I was and how terrified and worried I've been.how I've been wanting to end everything.. He's been so helpful and supportive these past few weeks but today He just put "stop" why? Do you think I'm annoying to my friend now and that he doesn't want to talk to me anymore? |

Posted: 30 Jan 2017 05:33 PM PST I know that it's harder for girls to be evaluated for it since the symptoms manifest differently in boys and girls. Still, I've been suspecting that I have it for a rather long time. I'm 15 btw. 1. My peers describe me as shy and quiet. It's because I have a monotone voice, often have a blank or frozen expression, can't make eye contact, and appear disinterested in them. Even when I try to form relationships, I'm viewed as weird, immature, or an oddball. Thus, I've stopped. Socializing is a process that requires memorization for me. 2. Not to brag, I excel academically, yet can have trouble grasping complex ideas or interpreting figurative language and sarcasm. I love non-fiction, but fictional text doesn't intrigue me one bit. My schoolmates think I'm the smartest person in the world. :/ Not really, I just work hard. That's all. 3. I have special interests/obsessions that I'm quite fickle with. They're arbitrary, but they consume my attention for hours every day. I feel as if I can't function properly without them. They have included foreign languages, religion, drawing, computers, and a plethora of others. I like to collect and categorize specific objects without ever using or playing with them. 4. I rock back and forth when I am nervous or perturbed. 5. I daydream heavily and value my reveries over relationships with human beings. I have my own fantasy worlds with intricate settings, plots, and characters. I also have imaginary friends. 6. People often remark about my strange and stiff way of walking without moving my arms. 7. I have touched others "Inappropriately" before and don't really know how to empathize with people that well. I would just laugh hysterically whilst they're crying, and I wouldn't understand. 8. I get erratic meltdowns, especially when my schedule or plan has become disorganized. These brief, yet intense tantrums involve self-harm, like banging my head against the wall. |

For instance, last night I asked in this group chat that me and my friends have "if anyone was in the dining hall" and my best friend replied "yeah I'm here with Sara and Ben". A little part of me was a little bothered that she went to the dining hall without inviting me, because usually I do that with her and my other friends. Anyways I went to my school's dining hall( I am in college) and I sat at the table she was sitting at and realized that this guy she has been leading on was there too which bothered me. I proceeded to ignore her the entire time and I didn't talk to her. I think she realized I was upset and decided to leave with the guy she's been leading on and his friend. I think part of me is upset with her because she's been leading this guy on/reciprocating his feelings, but then she has a boyfriend back at home that she says she loves and I do not agree with how she is handling the situation. She's let this guy sleep in her room and has allowed him to be touchy feely with her when both her, and the guy, know she has a boyfriend Anyways I think even if I was honest to her about my feelings, I do not think the problem would be resolved. So, I think that it is best to probably stop being friends since I am being so mean and petty( and I do not think I'll stop anytime soon unfortunately) So, what is the best way to go about peacefully ending our friendship? |

She always says she's tired from doing housework and would rather just stay home than go out with the family. She is not a bad person, she's friendly but she's also sad oftentimes. And she gets tired really easily because she has Thalassemia. Sometimes I help her when I can but even if I ask her if she wants specific things to be done, she says no because she doesn't want me spending my time doing housework. She's also quite sensitive, whenever someone does the least bit considered unfriendly thing to her, she later gets very upset about it and cries about it. She calls one of our distant family members cold and insensitive, but he's actually okay. I feel as if this depression is ruining our life as a family. She never wants to go out, usually has a sad tone in her voice but I don't know what can help her. Often she feels better but later on she just goes back to being sad. I feel really bad at times but I don't know what to do. A big part of her depression is that she is lonely, we try to help her make friends and she makes acquaintainces, but she never continues a friendship with them. There is a nice lady at a cafe who's her friend, but my mom says she doesn't want to ask her to hang out because she doesn't have anything to talk about with her. So then she just goes home to lie around. I don't know what to do. Can anyone offer me any advice? |

Posted: 30 Jan 2017 03:34 PM PST Long story short, I asked this girl for a few cents, she gave it to me and said that I better pay her back, and jokingly chest bumped me. She bumped into the hand that I was holding my phone in. My phone fell and like 1/4 of it shattered. She said she'd pay for it, never did. She offered to give me a new phone, sold the phone. All that happened last year September. Ever since then my phone had been glitching and doing some weird stuff. Now my phone is completely done for. It shut down for good today, and the screen is filled with lines and I can't even tap the screen; so I'm without a phone. I told my mom the day the girl cracked it. She was mad and said to give her the girls number so she could tell her mom to pay for it. I didn't listen because my mom wouldn't believe me when I said it was an accident and thought that I was trying to "save" the girl. My dad thinks that it was an accident and that he should pay for it, rather than the girl's mom since it was unintentional. I feel like it's too late for her mom to pay for it, cuz I shoulda got her to pay for it the week/month it happened..not 4 months later when more damage could've been done. But I also don't want my dad to pay for it, because money is already tight enough around my house as it is. Can someone help? Should I get her mom to pay for it or just have my dad pay for it? Cuz now I'm without a phone for who knows how long -__- |

We would like to do events so we can attract more members and convince them to stay a while, but we can't do anything fun because they're all shy. I was thinking about doing something special with an in-game reward for them because I want the shy members to feel more comfortable and to make my group successful. I was considering a contest, and they would have to write two paragraphs about themselves and what they think of our group so I can understand what sort of people they are and change things to make them happier, and maybe giving a small reward to anyone that enters. I m in a dark place a lot of times but today it s worse than most. For the past 6 years I ve had a lot of bad days, no one cares, so I constantly gotta try to pick myself up. I m usually able to but today and for the past month leading up to today I haven t been able to. I m about to be 21. Senior year I had "friends" that I ve known since elementary, but they just treated me however they wanted, then when I treated them how they treated me back they d get mad at me. I d get in a fight with them and they say no one likes me, they re only my friend because they feel bad for me because I m such a loser. I feel like I only try to be nice to people since it seems like the world is missing genuine people now a days, but I guess there s a reason for that. Girls think I m boring, and random people I feel just misunderstand me. I feel like I must be ugly, cuz good looking people have a lot of people like them. I m ugly, worthless, skinny, boring, I just don t fit in this world. I ve had acne for 6 years, done accutane. It s better on my face but my back is awful still because some kid smeared fries on my back sophomore year. Doesn t seem like it ll ever go away, I have social anxiety because of acne. I feel like someone can find someone better than me so why would they waste their time. I can keep going.. I just don t know what to do, I want to honestly end it all but it would devastate my parents, that s the only thing stopping me. |

Well, let's just say I'm quite over that age. My two friends and I got bored so we decided to go to Chuck E Cheese's and they took my phone and went in there. No one saw them going in so forcefully, I went in too to get my phone back and I got stuck. There were little kids in there screaming bc of us. Some people who worked there came and kicked me out but guess what? They didn't get kicked out because they made it down the slide before the workers came and I was lost in there. At the moment I was really pissed so I came home and didn't even wait for them to come out and give me my phone. They still have it, please help. How would you deal with this? I'm talking about those tunnel things meant for little kids. This is so damn embarrassing. I'm 18 years old and got in trouble at Chuck E Cheese's. My friends are acting like 5-year-olds. We talked and laughed a lot. I was in a talkative, energetic and comfortable mood. I made a lot of jokes, etc. We work together tomorrow again and I feel like doing nothing but avoiding this person. This person will expect me to be the same as last time but I just know that I won't be. I want to be friends, but I'm too afraid to screw it up. I'm not great at making friends... When people get to know me, I feel like they start to realize I'm not as great as they'd initially thought. To add, this isn't a totally conscious decision I'm making to avoid getting close to people. I don't always have anything to say...and sometimes am just a little more to myself. So while I really want to be friends with this coworker, I also feel like drawing away from her. |

Posted: 30 Jan 2017 05:59 AM PST I've always heard that it's difficult for introverts to make friends but, in my experience, it's been the exact opposite for me, especially since I started college. I'm the biggest introvert you'd ever meet, but it's just so easy for me to make friends. For some reason, people want to be friends with me. SO many people want to be friends with me. I literally have friends everywhere, even though I hardly make an effort. People who don't know me say that I'm rude and aloof, but that's because I'm very quiet. Yet most people still love me. It's such a bizarre thought after I read all the stuff introverts say about it being difficult to make friends. There are also a lot of boys who want to date me - and it's ridiculous sometimes because if I get the feeling that a boy (who isn't a close friend) is trying to talk to me very often, I distance myself from him and make it SO OBVIOUS. Yet, these boys would still pursue me... Lol, I just sound weird now. But has anyone else ever had this kind of experience? Has anyone else ever been the kind of person who is very quiet, lost in their own world and makes no effort to talk to people, yet still has so many people wanting to be friends? Chely - No, I actually don't smile at all. Like, not unnecessarily. Anonymous - I wouldn't be considered the pretty quiet girl because I'm actually really, really aggressive. The general impression people have of me is that I don't care about anything and I'm angry all the time. I understand because I really am angry most of the time because people are just annoying and talk to me unnecessarily and no one really understands ANYTHING. They try to have conversations with me but they hardly ever interest me. Anonymous - And I definitely don't think anyone thinks I'm a virgin because I've been with a lot of guys since I started college. Also, yes, I guess you're right, a lot of these people are guys. |

| Question: What should I do with a friend who always says the opposite of me? Posted: 30 Jan 2017 04:20 AM PST I have this friend who no matter what I say, always says the exact opposite. We had an argument over a concert last week. She is fan of Ed Sheeran, I'm not, and I just said that it wasn't going with her because 1. I'm not a fan, 2. it's really expensive, 3. it's in one of the worst concert halls (really big so lots of people can attend, but if you don't get good seats you have to watch the concert on a screen). So I told her that it sucks that the concert is in that particular concert hall, since you can hardly see the stage unless you are in the front and the sound and acoustic isn't that great either. I'm someone who has been going to concerts for over 10 years now (since I was 16), and I know that seeing a band at a smaller venue is much better (you have more contact with the crowd + you can actually see the band). I've been to concerts of the same band at different venues (from concert halls to very small gigs, and I know that there is a difference). My friend never goes to concerts, and has only been to that particular concert hall 2 times, and has never been to other venues. She did however totally disagree with me, and said that she only had good experiences with bigger venues, and I just asked her to give me examples of what bands she had seen multiple times at different venues, and her reply was that I should just let it go and stop talking about it because it's her favorite band. I was wondering how to handle this friend, because I'm really tired of her personality. PS If I ask her to go to a concert with me she always says no because she doesn't like my music, but I'm supposed to spend 80 euros on a ticket just to do her a favor? No way. |
| Question: All my friends hate me because of one stupid mistake? Posted: 30 Jan 2017 03:20 AM PST So me and my 4 best friends have this group chat and we always talk on it. Lets call them C, J, T and M. So M posted a picture about how she hates her teeth and I commented "I don't understand how you aren't insecure" (i wasnt trying to be rude or anything what i was trying to say was that shes really confident) and she said "what do you mean" and I said "like how you aren't scared to smile with your mouth open and stuff" and then I asked something in our group chat and noone answered so then I said "why does noone ever answer me?" and then M said "coz your rude" and I asked why and how and then C and J said how I dont say that about you friends and stuff and i kept saying sorry and i even messaged M separately saying sorry for hurting her feelings and stuff.I just hate how in our group I feel like they don't care for me as much as they care for eachother like Im the odd one out. this morning i went into the group chat and type "do y'all still hate me?" and everyone saw it but noone replied. What do I do? I didn't mean for it to happen. |
| Question: Are my two closest friends fake friends? Posted: 30 Jan 2017 03:10 AM PST I'm in college and over winter break my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. My two closest friends haven't reached out to me since I've told them. My two other friends who I'm not as close to sent me a card and also talked to me for an extended period of time. I'm an only child and all I have is my mom and dad. I know dealing with cancer is weird for friends, but this is when I need them the most. Should I just leave them alone. The day I wanted to see both of them at an event they went to something else together and didn't invite me. I don't want sympathy it's just nice to know I have someone to lean on. And I've been reading articles how fake friends leave during a crisis. What do I do? |

Posted: 30 Jan 2017 01:03 AM PST I would say that i have 5-6 truly close friends that i can really depend on that are really close to me and will help me when im in trouble. I have other friends to that would help me or care for me, i hear them ask about me from other people but i havent talked to some in a while. Im truly lucky to have people that care about me, i really appreciate that. I know a lot of people dont and i feel blessed. I wish everyone could have that, i really do. Its funny my family is just a mess. They dont really care about me in my opinion. You really find out who really cares when your DOWN. WHen your doing great and have everything in life going well, people surround you with "LOVE" but its when your down and everything is a mess you find out who REALLY Loves you. |

I've tried making some but they just dont seem to like to hangout with me etc. BUT in grade 9 i have lots of friends but im worried that they will dissappear and forget about me when they move up to highschool while im still gonna be in junior high. We talked and laughed a lot. I was in a talkative, energetic and comfortable mood. We work together tomorrow again and I feel like doing nothing but avoiding this person. This person will expect me to be the same as last time but I just know that I won t be. I want to be friends, but I m afraid to screw it up. I m not great at making friends... When people get to know me, I feel like they start to realize I'm not as great as they'd initially thought. To add, this isn't a totally conscious decision I'm making to avoid getting close to people. I don't always have anything to say...and sometimes am just a little more to myself. So while I really want to be friends with this coworker, I also feel like drawing away from her. |

| Question: I m 17 and I practically have no life? Posted: 29 Jan 2017 11:46 PM PST I m 17 years old and I ve never been to a high school party and I ve never had a boyfriend or a true best friend. I ve always fended for myself. I ve never been real popular but I m not unpopular either. I m like a ghost in my school. I have no social life, my fb pic has been the same since about a year and a half and I never update and I never hangout with anyone at school. I m chubby and have a sort of tomboyish girly look? Its skinny jeans sweatshirt and boots. I just don t know what to do. Once in a while I dress up in a dress but usually I wear pants and I never put up my hair unless it s on special occasions. I don t quite know. I think it may just be me. I had a job but I quit. My GPS sucks and I m friends with everyone but no one at the same time. I usually sit at home reading or taking pictures or watching tv or play video games. I never really talk at school and I feel like nobody knows me but they know who I am. I go from group to group and am friends with them all I just dont really talk. It s like my friends are hanging out with each other rather than with me. I feel excluded. I m sorry for going on and on but I really want help. I dont know what to do. |

Posted: 29 Jan 2017 09:59 PM PST So I m 19 and am currently in my second year of college and my whole life people have told me im shy and that I should talk more. Everyone always bestows some pity on me when I dont even feel like anything is wrong. Yeah I m not always raising my hand to participate in class but I speak when I m called on and always participate in group activities and discussions. I m extremely talkative with my friends and keep up convos with classmates. I may not be constantly interacting with others or making quick friends but how is that an issue? People dont get told to shut up when theyre overly talkative so why should I be told to speak up when im not? Its not like my shyness is ruining my life but I feel bad when people bring it up. |
