I'm a girl and 17. I'm under so much pressure with exams, universities, etc. My moms boyfriend is a complete jerk to me and is constantly calling me useless because all I do is study (I want to go to med school when I'm done high school) and he is constantly asking my mom when she's going to get rid of me. When I try to talk to my mom she just ignores me or starts screaming at me telling me to go cry myself a river. My friends don't care about real life problems, they just want to go shopping or to the movies. I've tried counselling but it didn't help. My dads not really in the picture. I'm just really upset. Any advice?

Question: Am I a bad person for feeling so hopeless?

I've been going through a horrible time, I'm at a very low point in my life.. Ive lost 4 family members recently, along with my bestfriend who committed suicide weeks ago and my other friend who got killed in a car crash this weekend. My dear friend texted me checking on me as she knows the conditions I'm in. I told her how I don't want to be here anymore, how nothing feels worth it anymore.. She said "do I have to come kick your butt" Why did she say that? am I a bad person for feeling like this?

I'm 16 and I want to drive soon but my overprotective mom won't let me. I get that it's scary for her but I need to go to places sometimes and she refuses to drive me to the places I need to go. My step dad is perfectly fine with me driving but my mom is the one who has the final say in the house. Sometimes my cat runs out of food or something and I need to go to the store but my mom is too lazy to drive me. She is always complaining about how she hates waking up early to drive me to school. What can I say to her to convince her to let me drive?

I've been battling a fight with my brother for some time now but he refuses to possibly consider he may be addicted to sex. He excuses it as having a high sex drive. He's 47 years old and married but feels that he has to have sex 3 or more times a week and if his wife isn't willing then he feels that he's within his rights to go pay an escort for sex. His wife is battling depression and is on medication for it and her sex drive is not as high. He says that she may want to have sex maybe once a month but he feels that he needs it multiple times a week. They are in counseling to work on their marriage yet he's still paying girls for sex. He doesn't want to admit that maybe he may be addicted to sex and he just excuses it as a "high sex drive." I've studied this extensively having studies the DSM-V manual and having a masters degree in counseling but he still refuses to believe that he may have a problem. I told him that (and not that this is gospel) but a 47 year old man doesn't need sex 3 or 4 times a week. He even told me this morning that he faked an orgasm with his wife last night so he could be fresh and ready to go have sex with some other girl tomorrow that he met online. Yes, one of the rare instances he said his wife wanted to actually have sex. Am I wrong here? High sex drive or possible sex addiction? His wife has caught him cheating numerous times and has threatened to leave him if he doesn't stop. That's the reason they are in counseling. She has asked him for the name and number of one girl he sees on the regular and he says she doesn't need that. He said she brought it up on counseling and the counselor said that if that's what it takes to make her feel confident then he should give up the name and number. What do you think about this? I told him the counselor was right. He has to do what ever it takes to reassure his wife that he's trying to change. He keeps underwear and a towel in his truck just in case he hooks up on the way home. I honestly don't think he's trying to change cause all he thinks about is his personal needs.

My mom always says that I am immature. I am a teenager and, yes I have done some stupid things, but it is not like I am going to go out and do them again. I do not like being in trouble. My mom holds a grudge on everything that I do. I feel like that I have proven to her many times through grades, extracurriculars and home chores how reliable I am. She keeps pushing back getting my permit and wont let me work. She keeps saying it is because i am not ready yet. What do I say or do to let her know that I really want this and that I am ready?

Question: I was at my uncles funeral today and I met his niece on his wife side is really pretty. Could I marry her or would she be considered fam?

So my son came home he's 15 and he has a 35-40 year old geometry teacher who always stares at him. My mom and dad die and they had the house split between them . I got my mom site when she died so it`s on my name . My dad is dead to and before he died I got him to make some paper that IM taking care of him and that his haft of the house is going to be on my name when hi dies . He's now dad sadly and I have all my paper in check but know one of my siblings is trying to take legal actions against me . Shod I be afraid .

I know I'm not the only person in the road with divorced parents but it really feels like it as no one else in my family has divorced parents except me and my siblings. She lets us go Christmas week to take a gift to extended family but does not let us participate in the family get together. We are not allowed to see them at Thanksgiving Easter or Fourth of July. How do I get her to change this as it really hurts me? I've told her it hurts me but she says that's too bad. She does this because she does not get along with her sister and her brother is an alcoholic though usually the brother does not come except Christmas. Any ideas?

My wife is upset and freaking out because she was reading about the doomsday clock she said it was close to midnight. I don't believe in that stuff. She shouldn't worry about it either. She has a feeling that midnight tonight a loud bomb will go off. Shes seen the movie 2012 she believes it's gonna happen. She feels bad because we got so much to look forward to this year. We just started working at Walmart in November she loves it. She hopes to get employee of the year at the awards ceremony next year. Her best friend is gonna be in a play this weekend she can't wait to see him. She hasn't seen him in a long time. We were suppose to go to DC for our summer vacation this year shes never been there. Her favorite country singer is coming to town this summer who shes been obsessed with all her life it's been her dream to see him. Also were having twins in April. She didnt go to college when she graduated school she was thinking of going this year or next. Shes worried she won't get to do none of that fun stuff if doomsday happens. Like I said I don't belive in the end of the world or stuff like that. I'll never believe it's gonna happen. How can I help her feel better ?

Left home, moved on with friend, bring younger cousin around, he asks to move in. Roomy agrees & cousin moves in with nothing in writing or planned. He has no food of his own & throws fits whenever I don't surrender my goods unto him. I really didn't want him to move in, and I now I gotta constantly stay away from everyone to avoid getting agitated to the point of freaking out.

She died of cancer December 6th and it was the best Christmas present ever. She held unnecessary grudges against my loved ones and fought with me over me seeing them. As a kid she grounded me from seeing loved ones of mine who she had grudges against. So is it justified that I was glad when I heard her cancer was terminal and when she later died? She was 65 and I am 32.

To make a long story short, there is a social worker that takes my little brother to visit his mom(yeah the mom who tried to kill him, we have evidence but she is fighting for my brother just cause her grandmother is forcing her and she s bat **** crazy and wants to kill him as a sacrifice for Satan she said which I don t know what mom would be that demented). We had a conference that the mom wouldn t give home made food to my brother. THE SOCIAL WORKER STILL ALLOWED IT AFTER SAYING SHE WONT ALLOW IT! And they have the guts to take my brother to a park where there is a rain ride and toys (manipulation so my brother will be distracted and make her look like she "isn t a threat") this social worker is a liar and we can t do anything about it cause all the people we have to deal with in child court are all female feminists.

So my mother, my mother, my uncle, and I all live with my grandmother on my dad's side.I go to college and live in a dorm, so I only have to go back during breaks and stuff. My grandmother plays favorites, and is willing to fund for my 10 year old cousin's college fund but refuses to help pay for my college(she has a ton of money and owns like five houses.) I of course, feel horrible relying on my grandmother since my father is retired and my mothers NEEDS to get a job, but I have honestly no choice. Anyway, my grandmother has vocalized to my cousin how she hates my mother and is jealous of her. My grandmother also picks on me from time to time (according to my uncle, she picks on me because she thinks I am weak.) My mom has confronted her about this but she keeps denying everything. When my grandmother usually says something negative towards me, I keep silent out of respect and bite my tongue. But now my mom is telling me I should talk back to her when she "picks" on me , instead of being quiet and letting my dad yell at her. I am not good with "fighting" back and I tend to get emotional, so I am afraid I might start crying or something. Just talking to my grandmother is out the window because she denies everything. Thing is I'm gay and in love with him. We used to not get along until my adopted younger sister died of leukemia. Mom was never in the picture. Dad is 40 and the grandest and most generous guy I know. When I was 13 Dad helped me stop a homophobic bully who targeted me. It was then that Dad decided I was old enough for the truth so he sat me down and told me he's also gay. Since then, we have an incredible comfort level since we're roomies and friends. Since we had landmark birthdays in the same week, we had a blowout party with all our gay friends. He even bought me a car. After everyone left, i thanked him over and over. We decided that I still should stay on campus during the week to get involved and come home weekends, at least either Saturday or Sunday if not both days, and of course holidays and breaks. So my sister scratched me, and I scratched her back, then my mom barges in and starts literally pounding my shoulder because I scratched my sister, but she always says that the first person to hit another is the wrong one. Well of course, I'm not the wrong one, so I hit her back, the same way she (my mom) hit me. Then she got extremely mad, hit me more, then tried to drag me into the bathroom for a "time-out", but I refused, and she ended up ripping my shirt. Anyways, she couldn't do anything to me that night but once my dad got home it got bad. She started out just by saying, "He hit me today," and that was enough to make my dad mad enough to stomp over and scream at me, but I explained how my sister started it, and whatever, and he seemed okay for the day. But my mom said I had to wake up myself, make my own breakfast, and walk to the bus stop from now. That seemed OK. But then today, I woke up at like 8:00 which is very late. The bus is long gone, and when my dad woke up he was incredibly mad. He first started with the usual: head pushes. Then he calls me names, (cussing), then proceeds to say that I have to walk to school, like 2 miles. He starts the head pushing again and leaves me on the bed. Periodically he will come, and say "What are you doing? You should be walking to school!!" Even though he knows I can't. Then he offers to give me a ride, and then pushes me. I refuse to go with him. He kicks me several times. I'm at home now, he left, and so did my mom.

Question: How do I get over my hurt that my step-grandmother died and no one told me (I missed the funeral)?

My mother and her real mother were mostly estranged and I only met her real mother once (twice if you count when little). Her real mother had alcoholism. My mother's step-mother was kind and supportive to us as kids. We were good to her as well. Then she and my Mom had a falling out when I got pregnant at 17. They stopped speaking and my mother died four years later of liver cancer. I saw my step-grandmother at the funeral and she sat with us. That was in 2001 and I never saw her again. She died in December I learned when looking her name up on-line today as I was thinking of writing to her. She was so kind to us and my brother even lived with her for a time. She was devout so my pregnancy was against her hopes I would wait until marriage but she was not mean to me. I feel terrible and a large void that I never had the chance to reconcile with her. Even though she was step-grandmother she was a grandmother to us just the same. Our mother never let go of stuff and it cost us. How do I forgive myself and how do I get over this hurt that no one called us? Not even sure how they would have reached us but with the Internet you can find anyone (she had two sons). Plus my Dad's name is easy to look up and find. Any thoughts?

Ok so I need raise money to see my grandmother and grandfather. I'm only 22 but I since I pay most my bills I don't have much left afterwards and I'm the only one who helps my mom around the house since she has bad kidney stones and hasn't been feeling well even though she had multiple surgeries they keep coming back and it's painful for her. So right now she is on disabilitie. Don't get me wrong we do well enough to get us by from pay to pay but just not enough for lots of spending options. So I haven't seen my grandparents in almost 2 years and there actually going a cruise for there anniversary they have asked that we please join them. Me and my mom can pay for ourselves but I have a sister named jainey that is 15 and my mom cannot afford to pay for her so as her big brother I though I could maybe help her out but I could cover some of the cost and I would need to find ways to raise extra money. My mom makes tamales and she sells them but she was thinking of doing more things. Like a barbeque plate or a bake sale. And I would do it since I'm the one who cooks. Where could I go about doing this? Would the park be ok? Anyone done this before? Any tips would great. I need all the help I can get. And no other family will not help us we tried and there a tad bit selfish when it comes to helping others:( I just need to raise as much as I can it's 888$ a person. And all I want to see is my grandparents happy. Where could I go about doing this fundraiser? I'm not doing this for vacation purposes my grandparents are like in there 80's and 70's I want to see them happy before there time is up and I love then like I do my mom. Thanks so much.

So this happened a few months ago but I don't want it to keep reoccurring. The time of the first incident I wasn't of age to obtain information about my savings account all I wanted to know was how much was in it so I called the bank and obviously they wouldn't disclose information to me so the next time my dad went into the bank the teller told my dad that I had called in front of my stepmom who tries to take everyone's money so then she play 20 questions with my dad on why I called our bags allowed to do this I mean I understand I was only 17 at the time but still? I'm of age now and the accounts in my name but my dad has an account with them as well and I don't want them to keep telling my dad that I'm calling or anything else like that.

She is in her 40s and Lebanese. She believes that her main priority in life is to take care of herself and cook and stay at home. She doesnt try to get an education. Most girls in her time period didnt finish high school. She is old fashioned, and she doesnt know how outside world works. Me; Why does Lebanon have so many problems? Mom: IDK Me: why dont u know? They came from a culture where "verbal abuse" was consider discipline. I one time dropped a plate of food and my aunt hitted me with her slipper, and she hitted me multiple times and bit me. She hits my cousin too, and my cousin parents hit him in front of people and call him an ***. Its the culture. The most important thing for a woman was her beauty, and the man his money. If a person hitted me in USA, it is considered physical abuse, but in Middle East and Asian cultures it is considered discipline.

My parents have sex every morning, I am not spying on them they just make it very obvious. anyway for the last two weeks me and my sisters have been sleeping in our parents room, I sleep on the floor and my sisters sleep on the bed with my parents ( my sisters are 8 and 6) now last Sunday morning I woke up very sick feeling and my mom got up to get the house phone because my grandfather was calling, she sounded a little annoyed that I was up and she went down stairs, after a little I went down because I really wasn't feeling right, she stood with me for a little and then she said her head hurts she has to lay down, so after a little I planned on going back up to lay down and when I went inside my pillow plus blanket was on the couch and we I went upstairs the door was closed and I didn't even bother to try to open it. Now I think they had sex with my sisters in the room sleeping, or they were doing something because when that door is close you know they're doing it. I feel sick, the other weekend before this happend, (which was a Sunday as well), she kinda did the same thing and once I went back upstairs the door was a little slightly close but they were laying down together and that was it. I don't mind that out all BUT what brother me was this last Sunday. I live in a home with my mom and stepdad ,and my two brothers. We let a family of six live in the same house with us because they have a one year son who has cancer and they were not living in a proper home for the boy. I am helping my mom out by taking care of her because she just had surgery and I am taking her role by dropping off and picking up my brothers from school . Also cooking. I don't mind helping my mom because I am there for her. But this family they are ungrateful, only because they live in the same house as we do they think they can use everything we have, they think they don't have to buy anything and pay out of their own pockets. The lady she washes all her own dishes and whenever I wish dishes I gladly wash her dishes and our dishes. I just wish they can leave already. We are basically doing this for the little boy who is sick . Plus only cause they live in our house they think they don't have to pay anything or save money to get their own home, how can I deal with this.

I just got in trouble by my parents for "not doing anything" and just "eat, sleep and always on my phone". Today they went out to party and I was at home doing chores, when they got home, my mum came in first and saw me packing up folded clothes and a few minutes later I just got called out and yelled at saying that I only eat and lay on my bed like a pig when clearly I just did a load of chores today. I am so upset and I feel like crying. This is so unfair. They act like I never help them with anything and say that they work hard and I don't know how to help them when they are tired. I'm feel so down that they said that to me.

from my fathers family everyone in his fathers had brown but his mother is divorced remarried with a blue eyed person and had blue eyed kids all of them, and my mom only my great grandfather had blue eyes and my mom described them as grey, what color will my kids have. my eyes look brown in the dark but in sun light my sister describes them as "off green" i mean like my great grandfather from moms side had ice blue eyes my grandfather has "yellow"

My grandparents are usually so supportive and caring, but yesterday things changed. I was sleeping over at their house, and my grandma walked in on me putting on my bra. She just stared at me and shook her head, saying that i shouldn't try to be older, and that i am wishing my childhood away. I am 14, so i obviously need a bra, it's not like i want to look older, and i still cherish being young. Then my grandpa said that i shouldn't wear a bra at such a young age, because it will stunt the development of breasts. Now they are both ignoring me, and i am wearing heaps of layers so i don't show any chest development. Did they handle the situation correctly? I am really disappointed with them.

PLEASE READ! My brother and I are twins and we are very close, We're Ethiopian Americans but we moved to Ethiopia for a year with my uncles fam. We live in one compound in Ethiopia and with my cousins, we pretty much do everything together. My brother is in a long distance relationship with his girlfreind in DC and theyre facetiming and their in love But the other day we all decided to go out somewhere but my brother and my aunts sister (whos not related to us) decided to stay home. I felt sick and walked back home. When i got home I went to my brothers bedroom looking for him, I walked towards his door and opened the screen by his window and I saw my aunts sister running into the bathroom from his bed butt naked. That really confused me, then I knocked and opened the door and my brother was in his bed "asleep"; he then woke up and was acting very suspicious and slurring his speech. I knew right away what was going on but I couldnt believe it. He told me to leave the room so he could sleep, but he wasnt acting like himslef at all. I cant believe it, I connected the dots and im realizing that he is sleeping with my aunts sister; shes not related to us and neither is she married but omg shes literally like 49 years old??? My brother and I are only 23?? And hes cheating on his gf who is so nice, what do i do? what do i tell him? Also this woman is like a church going lady? Question: Can father cosleep with 1 year old daughter alone?

Daughter is 1 and for the last month has only had temporary court ordered 3 hour visits with dad every saturday. Now the judge granted standard visitation meaning every other weekend , spring break, alternate holidays ect. He has never taken care of her at night. He was in jail for the whole pregnancy and then got out and went back to jail when she was a few months and then got out about 6 months ago. He was in jail originally for terroristic threat on a police officer I believe and then violation of probabation. I worry because I believe he is still doing drugs, his facebook page used to be full of porn and he was verbally/physically abusive to me. He lives with his mom and his 21 year old brother in a 2 bedroom apartment. He grumbled about giving 5.00 for some pacifiers for his daughter and has yet to pay child support. So I m sure he hasn t bought any clothes, diapers or a crib for her to sleep in at his apartment. Are there any laws or legal requirements for that?

We've been living together for 2 years and dating for 3, almost 4 years. His daughter was 2 when I met them and she's 6 now. They were living at his mom's house and he had her on weekends when we first got together, occasionally whole weeks. Her mom is a drug addict. One year ago, her mom was arrested for abusing her. The daughter has been living with us full time for the past year. My boyfriend may not be her biological father, but has assumed the title (he's not listed on her birth certificate). He has protective custody of her for the next year until her mom is off of probation. then who knows what will happen. I want to be happy as a mother to her and as a spouse to my partner. Sometimes I am happy with life and sometimes I am very not happy. I have woken up imagining packing all my things into boxes. on the flip side, I have woken up wanting to make a larger family with my boyfriend and to get married. We moved Into both of our first apartment together. We helped each other through such hard times. I don't know if he would have gotten custody if I wasn't involved. I don't know where they would live or how they would get on without me. I make them meals. I do the laundry. I pay bills. I work full-time and am 22 years old. I want to want this life but so much of me feels wrong because I never expected a family like this. 🎵Should I stay or should I go, now?🎵

I finally get a job, thanks to my 80 year old Grandmother being the only one that can drive me out to get a damn job! I can't get a car with zero money, so I relied on her to get a job, instead of my bi#€h mother who isn't able to drive me anywhere because she always has some random, made-up excuse like "I'm too tired", "It's been a long day for me." "My head hurts" "My joints are hurting" "I'm just not feeling well enough" "I have a migraine" "I just don't feel like it today" "I need to do this" "I need to be here and there" "I just can't" "I'm a lazy bi#€h who just can't get up off her @$$ and drive literally just 2 miles to the bank to get my sons hard-earned check cashed in, WHEN HE CAN'T DO IT HIMSELF BECAUSE I NEVER TAUGHT HIM A DAMN THING ABOUT BANK ACCOUNTS, AND NOW HE'S STUCK WITH NO VALID FORM OF IDENTIFICATION TO USE TO MAKE AN ACCOUNT HIMSELF!!! So my mother got a divorce and I, her and my sister all moved to my grandparents. We put my sister in school. I (17, graduated at 16) have been looking into the military. Particularly the Marines. Well one of my sisters teachers at school started failing her and being rude to her. Keep in mind this is a private school. My mother took her out of that school and started homeschooling again. Well they didn't like that. They issued court orders to my mother. Filed for abuse. Apparently they think she has only went to school 20 days in her entire life. My sister is extremely shy and she didn't want to say her ABC's in school. So they thought she couldn't. My sister is a few weeks away from turning 11. My mother had proof that my sister has been going to school her entire life. But this Judge is a cock. He didnt look at ANY of the proof. And made her go back to the same school. And his reasoning for not looking at the proof and saying EVERYTHING my mother said in the room was bullshit, was because he doesn't like homeschooling. My mother is going to try and request another judge on the grounds of conflict of interest. Now here is the thing. I ******* hated high school. HATED it. My only passion was the military. That's all it's ever really been. Of course I passed my classes. Its been a little over a year and don't remember HALF of the stuff I learned. None of it was of interest to me. Will I HAVE to go back to school. Again I was home schooled, and public school sounds like hell.

So I m currently 12 and I wanted to buy a new phone. The only problem is that my dad won t let me. I applied for a job and earned enough money but he still says no! I don t know why. My grades are perfect, I do chores regularly and I never gotten into any mischief and to top it all of both of my parents are so nosy of where and when I ll be visiting my friend s house! They always ask me WHERE ARE YOU GOING? HOW ARE YOU GETTING THERE? BE BACK BEFORE 5! My school ends at 3:30! THEN THAT MEANS I ONLY HAVE 1 HOUR AND 30 MINUTES OF FREE TIME!!! I just say no when she asks for money regardless if its $5 or hundreds. Its just saddens me I can never have a conversation with her without her asking for money. Everytime or any interaction she needs money. I used to give her my very last and then she'll need more the next day. She'll call and leave message all day long about needing money. She's married but her husband barely works and she's only mid 40s but won't work and get mad when I mention she should find a job. It hurts that she can't pay her bills and struggle but I am too and its hurts but everytime I say no. All my family seems to ask me for money and thibk I'm rich but I'm struggling and when I say no. They spread these rumora and its sorta make me feel bad. But what hurts is that she's my Mom and this money situation has strained our relationship. I tried talking to her and she gets mad and say I'm supposed to take care of her and me not helping is a sin.

I am 17 now and I have had my license for over 6 months. My grandma is 92 and can barely use her car anymore, plus she goes away to Florida for half of the year. There is now doubt that there is a car available for me to use but my dad does not trust me with it. He makes up excuses like it would be cheaper for me to buy my own car and get insurance on that than switch the insurance with my grandmas. I believe he thinks that if I have the freedom of having my own car I will never be home. A few months ago he got mad at me for not telling him exactly where I was (he thought I was at one place and I was walking around with a friend to another). After this I have been trying my best to keep him informed as much as I can but things still happen like i ask if he can pick me up from a friends house which he replied, he didn t know when he would be out of work and he thought it would be late. I assumed that this meant he could pick me up even though it would be late, which made him furious when he had to drive out of his way that late. I try explaining that stuff similar to this won t happen if I had my own car but he doesn t go for it. I just want my dad to trust me with a car and to not get mad at me. Any advice?
