Question: My sister is a mean and abusive narcissist. What do I do? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 01:56 PM PST I see her about 5 times a year. She is awful. |
Question: What to get my mentally disabled cousin for her birthday? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 01:54 PM PST I haven't seen her since I was a kid, probably more than 12 years ago. I don't know her at all and she is coming here with my uncle to visit. It will be her birthday on the week of their visit and I want to get her something. I asked my uncle what I should get but he just told me not to bother, that cake and ice cream is good enough. I have talked to her on the phone but she doesn't like talking on it very long and all I learned was that her favorite color is pink. My mom says that she has the mental capacity of a 6 year old, so should I get her a toy? It feels odd buying a toy for a 19 year old. What do you think? |
Question: How do I get my sister out of the bathtub so I can take a shower? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 01:50 PM PST She has been in there since noon and it is now 3:50PM She basically raised me so I don't want to hurt her feelings. I am 14 and she is 27. She has been in the bathtub for several hours and is alive, I checked on her. Obviously I don't want to go in. She has a fear that if she gets out she will get germs and then have to miss an event she is excited about due to the flu. She did this before Christmas as well. Our mother was a crack addict and left us for a male prostitute and we have different Dads. Her's was schizophrenic so she might have some of that and mine I am told was an alcoholic but I've never met him. Kyle T-----NO, THAT WOULD KILL HER, NOT FUNNY. |
Question: What do I do about my daughter? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 01:45 PM PST My daughter is 15 and she stays with her mom most of the time. I get her every other weekend and she doesn't even want to stay the full 2 days. She didn't come with me on Christmas and she was screaming "I'm not going" etc. I have to force her to come, I had to make her come on her birthday. She never wants to be with me and she never talks to me. She acts completely different around me vs her mom. She talks a lot to her brother and sister when they're there but she hardly talks to me. I don't know what's going on or what to do? What do I do? |
Question: What do I do about my brother and his wife? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 01:28 PM PST My brother has changed so much after his second marriage. She doesn t like our family. She won t let our parents our brother or me see my niece. And barely lets us see the child he had in his previous marriage. She refuses to come to our house , almost like it isn t good enough for her. My brother used to be my best friend. Now he won t come to the house, won t call won t text. Won t help my dad when he needs it. What do I do? |
Question: Sister lies about education? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 01:26 PM PST I have a sister who snubs people who don't have a college degree. Only problem is she doesn't have one either!! She claims to have a criminal justice degree but the university she claims to have graduated from doesn't offer that program at all. My sister gets caught lying all the time it's nothing new. Should I confront her about it? Nobody had seen her degree, last time I asked to see it she refused. Obviously lying... |
Question: I'm terrified of being like my parents? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 01:04 PM PST My father is a selfish prick who's been in and out prison my whole life. My mother is a prostitute junkie who was diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder (so a literal sociopath). Both abusive. Been in and out of foster care my whole life. But I don't want to talk **** on them. As bitter and resentful as I feel...I still love them. Because they're still my parents...Now here I am. 19. I made it. Living on my own with a decent job and amazing friends who I consider family. But it's always in the back of my mind. Every once in a while I'll get those comments. "God, you look like your mom. Your eyes are warmer though." or "Weird.. you remind me of your dad a bit." or "You laugh like her" or "He used to fidget exactly like that" etc etc. I feel like Harry Potter. When he couldn't deal with that whole "Voldemort lives within me" thing. If I'm the kid of such evil, cold-hearted people. What does that make me? It doesn't matter how much I try to make up for the mistakes I've made. I've pretty much dedicated my life to trying to be a good person. But I feel like it still isn't enough. Because I still have those genetics. I'm literally biologically a PART of them, you know? Everytime I look in the mirror I see them. How do I deal with this. It hurts. |

Posted: 05 Jan 2017 12:53 PM PST I'm 18 of course. My birthday was last month. It hasn't even been a fresh 2 weeks or a month that I just turn 18 & my mom is JUST now telling me I have to pay rent. I just got my FIRST job like my FIRST job 2 months ago. I get paid every week but only 90-100$ I have to give her money for gas every week I get paid. &I get a check from my dad cause he was in the military & my dad want me to use the money for college &for me to make a living on my own and that's what I'm trying to do. I get 578$ every month till I'm 21 or whenever they cut it off. But listen her boyfriend stay w/us &go to college he gets paid for it (1000$) & disability check (when nothing is wrong with him) the check is 200-500$ &she gets paid 900$ every 2wks &my brother ex stay here &she gets 400$ &give my mom half of her money (200$). So she wants me to get her 200-250$ of the money my dad gave me for my living &for college. I just want to know is my mom using me. Or is she doing her job? I want to know. B/c it bothers me. She know I'm working so hard to save money for college that she didn't do for me I even work very late on school nights just to save for college. I really want to go to college &be something in life cause my family never went to college &I want to make a change. I just turned 18 &don't say I should've been saving I can't cause its hard getting a job where I'm from and I'm blessed that I just got my first job even though my blessing came too late. But I'm thankful. Can you help me please? |

Question: Overprotective parents? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 12:01 PM PST Alright, so I have a teenage friend who I chat with a lot. She's a pretty good artist and author, and we always show each other our works. She doesn't have any internet freedom, though. And not the kind that has her parents watching her every time she touches the PC. It's the kind that makes her parents delete the Safari app off her phone. They did it back when she first got a phone, and they've been doing it ever since. Then, fast forward a year later. Now she's writing stories on Google Docs. And her parents worry that a hacker is going to steal them...so they remove the ability to connect to the internet from the laptop. And meanwhile, her little sister is watching YouTube without permission. Her parents think that they have to protect her from all the bad things in life. They don't understand that she's getting more mature and responsible as she grows older. They also don't understand that if she doesn't learn the internet now, she's more likely to run into bad stuff when she has to learn it herself. She's also beginning to get depressed because of this. She's asked her friends for advice, and here are some of the things they said: "Stand up to them now." "Show respect to your parents if you want them to give you something you want." "Do they realize that you need the internet for school?" (She's homeschooled, so no.) So...have any advice? |
Question: 67-year-old program client accuses me of yelling at her and bossing me around? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 11:59 AM PST I have to tell you this eldest client in my program group at 67-years-old having the mind of a child and sounding like a child having the way of her disability is always accusing me/blaming me of what I didn't do so she doesn't listen with my job coach tells her and she always refuses. Talking to herself and repeat what she says, singing childish tunes, etc.. BTW, I don't have a supervisor, I have a job coach has to handle this at her to stop doing this at me and I don't have an employment for a job I'm a volunteer. I'm in a day program and this is this why I do activities and volunteer sites to help out to work. And only the kind of supervisor I have is on my side to help me with my issues as an office worker. I have his/her phone number to call or text. When I'm being harassed by someone who also embarrasses me. I'm all fed-up with this elderly woman at her elderly child-like minded self who she doesn't have hearing aids she always covers her ears with either her fingers, or in two different ways with her hands. She still accuses me of what I did wasn't right and not my own fault. |
Question: Should I let my daughter and her baby live with me? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 11:58 AM PST My daughter is 17 and her boyfriend is 19. A few weeks ago, she left the house and went with her boyfriend to another state for a few weeks, without telling me. He's been to jail for selling drugs, shooting people, etc. and he's just a a bad example overall. She came home a few days ago and I found out that she was pregnant. She refuses to abort it and she wants to keep it, but I don't know if I should let her stay at the house with me. She's done a lot of bad things and I don't know how I feel about her coming back and living with me. What do I do? |

Question: My mother encourages bullying? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 11:31 AM PST I'm scared, my mother encourages bullying, she allowed her brother to bully me all my life ever since I was a child and I've grown up screwed up and now I'm scared that he'll kill me, what should I do? |
Posted: 05 Jan 2017 11:15 AM PST My dad has hit me quite a few times & regularly threatens to "fist me" or "break my bones". The sight of him completely scares me. Today I was eating yogurt on the dinner table, my sister than asked me to pour some water, I was eating my yogurt, so I passed her the bottle of water. My dad than completely freaked out, he started yelling at me, saying I m disrespectful & have no way of talking even though I didn t say anything. He then came really close to me, dished out a lot of food on my plate & told me "I have a bloody headache, eat your damn food & if you say one wrong word, I will fist you & break your teeth & you will fall over this chair." I was then forced to eat, I completely hate the food that he dished out for me as it is my least favorite dish, I was trying really hard to eat it & decided to have some water. He said to me, "don t fool me, you washing your food down with water, just eat, drink later." I really tried my best & I must have eaten about an 1 eight of the food, before I ran to throw up. My dad just told me to suck it up & eat the rest. I told him twice that I will be not be able to finish the food, but he told me to "shut up". When I was almost done with the food, I again threw up. I am not used to eating that much. He then attemped to slap me, but my mum stopped him |

Question: So I have this friend and her boyfriend sounds controlling and abusive to me. Am I right? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 10:46 AM PST -He constantly calls her and gets mad and panics when she don't answer. -Won't let her have friends. -Has to know where she is who she's with and has to let him know when her family gets there and what time they leave. -Is rough with the kids. He smacked her 4 year old in the face (who isn't his) all because she screamed and cried because she didn't wanna go to bed. Just found out he does other stuff like trips her and hits her behind her back. My friends sister seen it and told her. He also hits their 10 month old in the head and smacks him but says he's "just playing" but the baby cries and is afraid. -His Mom threatened her said she was going to make her life miserable and have her husband come shut her up when she did nothing it was her family and they were just sticking up for her on facebook because they were saying mean things about her. Her bf didn't stick up for her he basically thinks what his Mom says and does goes because she gave birth to him. -When they fight he tells her to stop running to people. She can't tell her friends or her own Mom. He got pi**ed off that I was defending her and said it was none of my business but yet he can run to his family and even his EX GIRLFRIEND! Question is how can she get out of this? And dont this sound like abuse? She wants to leave but they have a 10 month old together her and she's afraid he will get joint custody of him. That and they have a lease together will the police make him leave? |

Question: How to live with a father that has some characteristics of a sociopath? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 10:06 AM PST I am 19 years old, I'm in college and working hard so i can move away in few years hopefully. I have problems with my father since always. I need to find a way to deal with him. Sadly I'm a very emotional person and can easily be hurt or manipulated with. My father is controlling, obsessive, very cold, lies, and he is intimidating. Our last fight happened few days ago, he never lets me or my older sister that is 22 go out and limits our time a lot. So we decided that we are old enough to step up and we told him that we will sleep over at friends house on New years eve. Ofc he didn't allow and when we came home the fight started. As always he was yelling, called us whores and cows, threatened to beat us and kick out of house. I tried a different method this time and tried to calmly talk and told him okay lower your voice, don't insult me, but it was no good..so how do i deal with this in future? |
Question: Why do parents like mine enable bad behavior by their kids? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 10:04 AM PST My parents enable my sister's self-righteousness and demanding behavior. She is 23 going on 12. |
Posted: 05 Jan 2017 10:04 AM PST My Dad was kept away from me by my Mom and then it turned to a lengthy court thing when she got brain cancer and died one month later. Is it okay I am relieved she died last September because now I have my Dad back? She was a very bitter person. |
Question: MIL can't understand that I'm a one and done type of woman? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 09:47 AM PST I grew up never really wanting kids. It's not that I didn't want them, I just didn't think about it. I don't particularly enjoy being around babies/small children; generally I try and avoid them but I don't hate them by any means. I'm an only child and my husband is not (he's one of four), and I made it clear from the beginning of our relationship that if he wanted to stay with me he wouldn't have a big family with kids running around everywhere. It definitely took some thought and consideration on his part but he agreed that we'd have only one child and not until I reach my early 30s (I'm mid 20s now). My family does not care if I have any children. They place much more of an emphasis on travel and education then childbearing; his family is the exact opposite. His mom talks all the time about ALL the babies I'm going to have. I have told her NUMEROUS times that there will be no CHILDREN only a single CHILD. My husband is getting a vasectomy after we have our kid so we don't have to worry about another pregnancy. What can I do to make her understand? I know myself really well and I know I'm only going to have a single child. I loved my childhood. My parents were 40 when I was born, both have post graduate degrees, and a love for travel. I've been to more countries by the time I was 10 then most people get to do in their lifetime. If they had another baby this wouldn't have been financially possible. I want to do the same for my child. How can I get her to understand?? |
Question: How to get back at my mom for pulling my pants down in the mall? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 09:46 AM PST I was wearing a thong when she did this so everybody nearby saw my butt. She also stood on my pants for about 60 seconds and wouldn't let me pull them up. Very embarrassing. |
Question: My dad should be in jail for this? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 09:02 AM PST My dad cooked dinner, my mom should be the only one that cooks. He did women chores . He should be in jail for not working |
Question: I'm getting really Depressed, I ruined my own life :/? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 08:56 AM PST I'm 21, I used to live with my parents with a decent job, and they used to pay for my college, my car, everything, and even though I used to work I used to get a small allowance of about 50$ a week, so I decided to go to the US, and finish my education there, 1. my credits didn't transfer so I had to re-do 2 years if college. 2. I got introduced to credit cards, and I'm an idiot I owe about 9,000$ now. 3. I lost my job in the US after I got into a car accident and since then I can't find a new one. 4. I have college debts now to pay, credit card debts, everything is falling apart idk what to do... 5. I wish I can go back and stay with parents, I literally think I ruined my life. Idk what to do anymore... I'm simply gonna give up, I really don't know what happened to me and how to fix all this, I've been applying to jobs for the past 6 month and still cant find any. |
Question: Why are people always telling me what I already know? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 08:48 AM PST Why are people always telling me stuff I already know? Examples: My mom moved in with me in my house of 20 years and then started telling me about my house, what my cat likes, etc. She never asks me if I know first. She just starts telling me stuff. My boyfriend of 6 yrs will listen to me tell him about something cool I found out only to tell me all about it days later like I never said anything. Or I'll tell him something that he doesn't agree with about the way I'm dealing with my wayward son and when it starts working out a few days later he'll tell me exactly the same idea like I never said it before. When people in my life, especially people I care about do this to me it hurts my feelings. I feel like they are always trying to take credit for something instead of asking me first if I know something already, or giving me "a pat on the back" for finding out about something, or just giving me credit for something. It feels petty that I'm even asking this question but with these two people especially it's all the time. It makes me feel invisible. How do I handle this or what am I doing wrong? Thanks so much! |
Question: Instinct vs Follow Through? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 08:45 AM PST I'm the mom of 3 girls 12, 7, & 3. My oldest is a sweet, well behaved child, who until recently almost never got in trouble. She has been having issues talking to her friends in class. We have tried talking to her, grounding her, etc. But she is an incredibly talkative child, was put in a class with a LOT of friends, & she seems unwilling to contain herself. 1 of the biggest problems is on our end. My husband travels for work & I have been far too inconsistent w/ her in terms of discipline. I'm much better with my younger girls but my oldest is so rarely in trouble that it breaks my heart to be tough when she is. So even when I have punished her I give her too many chances 1st & then the consequence I give often isnt very meaningful Frustrated, I told her that if she did it again it'd mean a spanking. I only use spanking as a LAST resort & have never used it past the age of 7 When I said it I never contemplated having to DO it Well her teacher just called & she has been disruptive in class again My dilemma is this: I think she is a bit old for spanking & meanwhile it would break my heart to have to do it at her age. On the other hand, I am aware that my biggest failing in this scenario has been on not following through adequately on threats....& I clearly threatened a spanking, she clearly understood (& looked scared of the concept), & she clearly broke the rules again. I really don't want to go that route, but I also don't want to fall back & not following through |
Question: I'm scared of leaving my parents alone? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 08:27 AM PST So basically my parents fight a lot. There's no victim here and they just both hate each other. One night when my sister and I weren't home, they had a big argument. Mostly if they have an argument either my sister and I will break it. This year my sister is going to college and she's moving out and I'll be in high school so I won't be home a lot. I'm scared that while I'm not there something will happen and I won't be there to stop it and it will just get bad. My parents used to physically fight and it was bad but now they don't but I'm scared that it will go back to that? What should I do? I don't want to stay home every night in high school just to break up my parents fight. |
Question: How to make my sister not lazy? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 08:02 AM PST She is 19,lives at home and does nothing. My dad will ask to simply ask her to wash her own clothes and she says "I'm not a kid o don't have to listen to you." She eats my food. She will go on my lunch bag before school eat half of my sandwich and then wrap up the other half. I don't eat after her because I don't know where she's been so I don't eat lunch that day. She stays out half the night then sleeps until 2 PM. She will yell if you wake her up. This one day my dad got mad and took away her tablet until she cleaned her room. She left , said she was moving out and climbed back in through the window 2 minuets later. she tried to bang down my parents door that day. She has no job or anything! She sleeps all ducking day and stays out all night. She's a bottom feeder. My dad told her to get a mcdonalds job but she thinks she is too good for it mate McDonald's. It's better than nothing! No hobbies at all but playing on her technology. I'm |
Question: My sister is evil and psychotic should I keep my kids away from her? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 08:00 AM PST |
Question: Is it any of my moms business how her sister raises her own kids (the sister's kids)? Posted: 05 Jan 2017 07:59 AM PST The sister has two daughters one of whom is the golden child and praised while the other of her was just OK that is just kind of ignored. Then she (the sister) has a son that she dumps on left and right and talks like he's the worst person in the universe when is actually a perfectly good person. The reason my mom sister hates that son is because he's closer to his father is the sisters ex-husband plus the son was not the easiest high school student. So my mother says that this is narcissism and that her sister is being abusive in her words. Is this any of my mom's business when she's not the mother? I agree it's wrong for the sister to dump on one of her own kids specially cause he is special needs but is it any of my moms business? |
