I am in trouble for sneaking around with my boyfriend which is a pretty big thing for me. I am a really good kid and don't get in "BIG" trouble allot. So i figured that I should just take my punishment and deal with it. (You know try to stay positive.) My mom is bursting out in random fits where she is so pissed that she keeps bringing up my mistake and calls me names and say terrible things. Okay I'll be venting in this question so I hope you're okay with it... I'm 13 and I get into a lot of conflicts with my grandma. However no matter how much she has annoyed me or even abused me in some ways I still felt some little love towards her. Until today.. I've been studying a lot and so today I decided to take a little break and when she saw me on the phone she ultimately started teasing me that when my boyfriend sees what I'm doing rather then studying he will find a much more intelligent and less slutty girl and leave me. And I'm not even a slut! I don't dress like one, I don't act like one! Idk what's her problem! You see I'm a really emotional person and it really hurts. I was adopted when I was 6 Mons by my aunt and uncle, you'd think they'd know but they don't which is what is what am I? Whatis all in my genes? When I was younger it didn't really bother me but I also didn't understand what my siblings (cousins) meant when they were laughing at my baby picture saying I looked Japanese. I turned 18 about two weeks ago and nothing has changed. I'm pretty sure it's because I'm still in high school, but I've been fed up with this petty rules since I was a lot younger. I'd like to clarify I'm not a rebel or anything and I don't break the rules. I'm actually very shy in real life. Anyways, today my teacher was yelling at me because I was "twirling a pencil" while she was teaching. I didn't even notice I was doing it, and I was paying attention just fine. She proceeded to take my cell phone, even though what I was doing had nothing to do with a cell phone and kept it with her for the remainder of the class period. She claimed that was my punishment for not paying attention. I was also about two seconds late to first period and I was yelled at by administrators that I "have to" get a late pass and go to detention, even though my foot was literally through the door when the bell rang. My parents still yell at me every day, take my belongings, punish me for petty things, etc. I'm not a bad person or a rebel, as I stated before but isn't it getting out of hand? Will I always be babied or will it just last until I graduate high school?

I struggle with this at least yearly. I was raped at 16 and did not report it out of fear of repercussion socially and by the offender. I knew the guy well beforehand and was still forced into contact with him afterwards, I was 16 and scared. Its been about 5 years now and I have wanted to talk to my parents about it for at least 3, but I don't know how to approach it. Being open about my mental health with them has done me a lot of good, and I feel like this is the next step in coming to terms with what happened. We are from Alabama, I left home at 18 and I currently live in Georgia. My younger brother is 15 and still lives with our mother in Alabama, who is emotionally abusive. She has severe problems such as anxiety, bipolar, and depression. Growing up we dealt with her yelling, cussing, breaking dishes and slapping us in the head when she was mad. She had numerous men in and out of the house and just before I moved out she started smoking pot as well. So last year 2015 at Thanksgiving my mom was angry at me because I saw my dad's family Thanksgiving day and then went to see them again on Saturday for a party. She was angry that I would see them both times and wanted to know "why do you have to see them twice and the weekend"? This year meanwhile she was angry because I did not go see her family both Thursday which is Thanksgiving and Friday the day after Thanksgiving. Rather I was with her family Thanksgiving day and so the day after I went to see my grandmother on my dad side. So she was angry one year that I was seeing my dad's family twice and then angry the following year that I would not see her family twice. She has deep-seated bitterness towards her in-laws and takes it out on me by using me as a weapon. So my first question is why is she such a hypocrite and my second question is how do I get her to stop doing this? I'm an adult living on my own age 25 but it still causes me great anxiety when there's conflict with mom. She's always been like this and used me a lot as a kid.

Now before we begin, let me make one thing clear for you. I didn't move out. I am still living with my parents. I had some old toys and childhood keepsakes that were stored in the basement. One day, I went downstairs to the basement to search for my stuff and found out that all of my toys and things from my childhood are all gone! When I ask my dad about it, He just simply said, 'welll I thought you don't wan't it anymore, so I donated it to the thrift store. He just assume that I didn't want the stuff anymore without even asking me. If he doesn't want my stuff to be in his basement, he could've just tell me about it, I'm more than willing to put my stuff back into my living room. He didn't even bother to ask me about it. My brother is nearly 24 years old and behaves like a big child. He has a diagnosis of Aspergers but is very high functioning i.e. you wouldn't notice anything unusual about him. He is so negative and complains about absolutely everything. He has been treated for depression in the past but refused to continue with the treatment as he believed it didn't work and the meds had side effects he didn't like. I am now starting to believe that it's just his personality and not depression. He is negative and critical, doesn't like anyone, believes there is something wrong with everyone and thinks he is better than everyone else (he actually said this). He has a real attitude problem and is very immature. He's put on a lot of weight in recent years and no matter how much advice we give him on diet and exercise he won't listen. My mother and father are at their wits end. Is there anything we can do to change his behaviour and put him on a more positive path? Or does he have to change himself (he doesn't believe their is anything wrong with him). How do we motivate him? Anyone ever have any similar experience with a loved one who could offer me advice?

We moved my mother in when we gave birth to our son to help out with taking care of him. Seemed like a good idea at the time but it isnt working out so great. If anything my mom seems a bit delusional and off. She gets mad when I feed my son because she wants to bottle feed him and he is a breast fed baby. If he cries and we tend to him she tries her own self diagnosis and she'll be very off from what is wrong with him, then gets mad when what we do works for the baby instead of her idea. She tries to start drama between my husband and I. She throws shade at me all the time in front of people, for example if someone compliments ANYTHING about me she rolls her eyes to show her distaste but if someone cracks a joke on me she chimes in with extra to try to make me look bad. She acts outrageous with us in public being loud and when we tell her to calm down she gets upset. She is extra loud at night when we try to get the baby to sleep. She gets mad when I take care of the baby instead of her, but I mean if I'm the mother so when I'm home I don't want to just pass off my responsibilities like my son isnt m responsibility. Its like she doesn't want me involved with my son. A few nights ago, my mom found my old self harm scars from November/December. I've since stopped self harming, as I realize that it's not gonna do anything for me in the long run, but she doesn't believe me that I've stopped. She saw the scars were healing and she's still afraid of me. Last night it really got to me though. I was in my room watching Death Note to unwind. I was in a dark room watching it and she bursts in like "I'm done. No more hibernation. No more darkness. No more depression. I should have seen the signs sooner. You're watching **** related to death why don't you watch happy things??" And kicked me out of my room, but not before ripping all the blinds open. She was obviously afraid of me :( So after that, she made a FB post about how MannyMUA is the face of Maybelline and then I commented my opinion on it. I don't really care. In fact I'm actually happy for Manny bc I've been a fan of his for so long. My mom, of course, doesn't agree, so she got so mad and started yelling at me. "THIS IS WHY YOU KIDS ARE SO F**KED UP, THIS IS WHY YOU'RE CUTTING, THIS IS WHY THE WORLD IS F**KED!!" and I didn't even know how to respond. Later that night, she talked to me more. This time, she had a very condescending tone. So I'd like to start out by saying that my parents are, and have always been overprotective and very sheltering. They are not overly religious or anything like that, but just very "proper" and do not like anything to do with sex or relationships. They also revealed to me that they only had intercourse once and that was soley for the purpose of creating me. (Ew). Well now I am 23 years old, now married. There wasn't much they could do to stop me. I do not live with them either, I/we have our own place and pay all of my own bills. They do EVERYTHING they can to prevent us from having sex, she even tried to tell me not to consummate our marriage as it's "not important". They live an hour and a half away and will come in periodically without knocking or a heads-up and give us shunning looks if we are even just cuddling on the couch. (Once again, they are not super religious). Every once in a while we do have to stay at their house over night(long story) and they FORBID me from sleeping next to my own husband. They basically tell me im not allowed to have sex with or enjoy my husbands company at all. And if they ever "caught us" (lol) that they would no longer really speak to us. The last thing I should mention is that they're very fond of my husband, Kyle as well so that is not the issue either. And they really are good people. I cannot stand my mother, all she does is favor our sibling even though that sibling mentally abuses the rest of us. But the worst part is that the mom knows that she is abusive. I am 12 and am 4'9-4'10 and I feel really small at my school most are over 5 foot. My father is 5'8 my brother is 5'11 and my mother is 5'3. I have grandparents on my mom's side that are over 6 foot. I understand that she cares about me and wants me to be safe but she asked me for my passwords on all of my online accounts and she even checked my iPad, iPhone, and my PS4. This has made me think I wish I had different parents that didn't care what I did or parents that didn't care what I did. Any advice?

It's me, my boyfriend and his brother all living in his mother's house. My boyfriend's brother doesn't do his dishes, and just generally makes a mess of the house. He's a 26 year old jobless pot head/ alcoholic who sits at the house all day. He isn't taking care of himself or even looking for a job. My boyfriend and I are about to start paying rent to his mother, but she has mentioned that the brother won't be paying rent since he's running out of money. I understand that alcoholism is a disease, and I get that not having a job means you have no income to really put towards rent. But he's the oldest out of us all (with me being 18, my boyfriend being 22, the brother being 26). How can it be our responsibility to pick up his side of the bills? Shouldn't he be getting a job? Is it unfair to us that we'll have to pick up the slack? Don't get me wrong, I want to pay the bills here because I have a lot of respect for their mother and don't want her to have to carry the burden of paying for a home she isn't living in. I guess the thing that pisses me off the most about it is that I didn't have a caring mother. One day I came home and was told I had 30 days to leave. So to see that this lazy deadbeat is taking advantage of his mother (and my boyfriend and I) is infuriating. I guess I'm just looking for advice on what I should do. Or a way to rationalize this situation. I don't know. Just tell me what you guys think. I'm at a loss.

My son and daughter are 17 and 18. They refuse to walk 15 miles(as we have no public transportation in our town) to go look for jobs, they tell me no one in the right mind can walk 30 miles a day. I am 53. I have not drove them anywhere in a few years and I don't want to. They have no money as I have had them home schooled for 10 years. I am not buying them a bike, bike insurance, learners permit, drivers license or a car. I am not teaching them how to drive. Why are they so immature? Why won't they walk 15 miles to the town to find a job and 15 miles back home?

I recently met someone who is obsessed with a male relative of mine (that I just found out about). Because of my slight resemblance to this person (other than the fact that I am a woman), they keep encouraging me to dress masculine, etc. This person is a stupid pervert who is in love with my (dead) male relative. I'm trying to figure out the best way to tell them that they are a stupid pervert and that my dead male relative is not coming back in any way, shape or form and that they only way they're ever going to be with them is if they go visit the graveyard. How do I do it nicely so that this psycho doesn't have a mental breakdown? Yesterday, my mother talked to me about traveling to Nigeria for 3 weeks in June of this year. She asked me if I had $1300 to give to her to help pay. Understandably, I got angry because I do not need to take a vacation to Nigeria for 3 weeks. I am in online graduate school and I am very tight and stingy when it comes to my money. I don't like being forced to spend my money on things I don't feel like I need. Plus, I need a car FAR more than I need a vacation. My mom thinks that because I have a part-time job, I can automatically afford to pay for everything for her. She has become so needy and demanding when it comes to my money, I can't take it. That's how Africans (Nigerians) are like when it comes to money. They love it too much. Nigerians are the worst when it comes to money. I am so desperate to get my own car because I HATE sharing a car with my siblings because I constantly have to put gas in it, which finishes in a day or 2. I want my own independence and I want to be free to drive wherever I please. MY job only pays me around $600 a month. I need to save at lease $200 a month so I can get a car for this summer. If I were to fork away $1300 for a vacation I don't want, I will have to wait even longer for a car, which I do not want to do because I want my own car.

She worships my one sister and hates my other sister. I am the only son and I am the "normal one" who she loves but doesn't worship. If I let her have it for her abuse against the one daughter then I will be on her grudge list. She resents her family because they are good to this daughter she resents so much. She declines invitations to her families gatherings (my aunts, uncles, and cousins) and now that they have given up on asking her she says "they never invite us". She also has refused to do Thanksgiving and Christmas the last 3 years with her family because the bad daughter is there and invited. Thankfully I am an adult so I go by for an hour or so. I have a cousin, which isn t by blood. Our mother s were very close friends so naturally my siblings and my mother s friends siblings being so close in age we would be around each other all the time, as time went on we considered each other like family, like cousins. I am 23, my male cousin is 25 or 26. His feelings for me which seem to be very sexual came about around the age I was 16. I don t see him this way at all and told him this numerous times so it s quite puzzling! These are some of the things I have done for my children. My son and daughter are 17 and 18. When they were 5 and 6, I stopped celebrating their birthdays When they were 7 and 8 I told them Santa was fake and stopped buying them presents. I started home schooling them at 7 and 8. When they were 9 and 10 I told them they were too old to go to summer camp. When they were 10 and 11, I told them they were too old for skateboarding, too old for toys and too old to play video games. I gave away all of their things. When they were 11 and 12 I stopped driving them places they stayed home 24/7. When they were 12 and 13 they started getting depressed. I punished them for that, as that is a sign of weakness and I told them they're not kids or babies and to get over themselves or I would put them our. At 15 and 16 I refused to teach them to drive since 15 and 16 to now, they both refuse to walk 15 miles to public transportation in the city to get jobs.

First things first, my child isn't bad. She's never done drugs, didn't drop out, doesn't drink, no sex or anything. But she is Transgendered so she was born my daughter but is now my son. I'm disappointed that she's Transgendered and I wish she'd just go back to looking like a girl. But she was always a bit of a tomboy and wanted boy things. Now she binds her chest occasionally. and gets upset over her body and gender. I was aware of her looking like a boy and such but the binding her chest was a secret until I made her tell me. She's sneaky and wears baggy clothes to cover her figure. I'm frustrated with her because of this but also because she's an adult. She should be out working or at-least going to college for something! I understand she isn't like her cousins while they are driving, in college, looking for their own places, and dating. he just isn't that way. Even her 17 year old cousin has his **** together more than she does. She has nothing going for her. Why couldn't my child have scholarships, straight A's, and why is she so awkward? She never showers either because of her body. I have to baby her and remind to her do the chores. She doesn't mind doing them but she takes a hours or days to get them done. Se does have ADHD and we put her on meds when she was younger but she stopped taking them because they made her sick. All she wants to do is lay down all the time or play on her computer. She has no passions but those two things. How do I make her strive?

My aunt (my dad's sister) has came from her home, which is miles away from our city and she's going to stay in our home for two weeks... It's only a day that she is at home... I have a 20 year old brother who is mentally retarded... Please if you're not going to offer help, don't comment/answer. . So the situation is; myself:23, my boyfriend:20 sister:21, mother:46, father:45. . My boyfriend and father both work 40+ hours a week and aren't home much. My sleeping schedule adheres to my boyfriend's work schedule, so I'm often in bed by 6 am and waking up at 2 pm. . My mother, sister and I aren't working. Mother is on disability and is often stuck in bed due to her various illnesses. She does have some good days where she can get up and do things, but that's about a 50/50 chance. . I myself also have medical issues that cause me to be unable to do much to help, but overall, I'm the one keeping up with things(housework, shopping, etc) And my mother handles finances. . The problem? Overall, the house isn't as well kept as everyone would hope. It's not as bad as some, but there's a definite lack of organization among other problems. I've been trying to research for months to help. I've tried many systems to help with the house, but no one in the house cooperates with anything I try to put in place. . What I'm asking? Resources to help with 5 adults living together, that help keep the house together and picked up. Any systems you might know that work well, or a website you can provide that has ideas for this issue. Some system that's easily maintained or -anything- that gets everyone helping. Should I move out my parents house. I am a 26 year old single lady with no kids. I'm going to college this year a and I make just enough money to pay for an apartment I'm just scared to live alone and leaving the nest. Plus I don't wanna live anywhere so I'll be paying almost a thousand for rent. I know my parents are going to try to talk me out of it. They don't have a problem with me staying here and they are always worried for my safety so me getting a apartment alone will really make them worry.
