Me and my dad have not spoken in forever. He got married a few years ago and had 5 kids with his wife (2 is not biologically his) but he treated them so much better than me! He would never message me, he always ignored my messages, and he blocked me on FB so I could no longer contact him. I have been so hurt over the past few years and today he finally messaged me and asked how I was doing. Should I reply to him or ignore him like he did me? I don't want to get hurt by him again.

So I m 16 almost 17 and my sister is 22. My dad STILL pays her car insurance, phone bill, and all her loans for college. I honestly wasn t mad about in till she said that I want more and more. It s back to school season so yes I got a lot of stuff but come on shes 22 and her dad still pays all her bills. I honestly never get anything during the year unless it s a holiday or back to school and she called me spoiled. What do you guys think

Ever since I was about almost 14 I always felt awkward around my parents. I don't know how to exactly explain it but I don't feel like talking to them. It's not that I hate them, I love them SO much. They do everything for me and I appreciate them. I feel uncomfortable whenever my dad asks me to sit with him, I don't feel like doing that though. I still decide to do it because i don't want him to think that I don't like him even though I love him. I can't show the way I love them like when I was a kid giving kisses hugs and always being with them. I just say I love you and give a hug now. I don't know what to do. I'm 14 and also a boy. Is this a normal thing for puberty?

She is a mormon and she's super strict, she had two daughters of her own. She my met my dad when I was seven I think and they got married when I just turned ten. I had only spent two weeks out of the year and six weekends with my dad up until I was sixteen and got kicked out of my moms for getting pregnant. I went to live with my dad. I thought I knew what it was like to live with Marissa; my step mom. I was mistaken. By this time, my dad and her had their own baby. Marissa was very welcoming at first but after two weeks of living together she completely changed. She snoops through my room and she picks fights with me. She watches my daughter while I'm working over time and she treats my daughter just fine but she sexualized her two piece bathing suit I got her this summer, my daughter is two. She is very controlling when it comes to what I wear as well, I'm not allowed to wear tank tops, shorts and strapless things unless I'm in my room. She said she doesn't want me setting a bad example for her daughters. Her daughters Grace and Anna are 15 and 14 and I've found them in my make-up. Grace who is the oldest wore make up to a church bonfire and it was bright eyeshadow and I got in trouble for it when she was the one who snuck into my room and got into it. Marissa destroyed my make up after that. How can I tell my dad this? It won't stop.

Yesterday my dad watched my four year old son Josh for me while I had a meeting at work. Aparrently my son kept saying the word crap, and my dad told him multiple times to stop, but he wouldn't. Now I feel sort of strange because I have never heard Josh use that word. I just have the feeling that my dad does not like the fact he has a grandchild. What really put me over the edge was my father's way of punishing Josh. He filled my son's brand new sneakers with mustard. As a mother, I feel that if my child misbehaves, then it is my place to fill his shoes with mustard. My dad went too far.

I know this isn't a question but anyways..I don't really feel connected to my dad anymore. My parents aren't divorced yet, but they live in separate houses(I live with my mom) my dad lives in the house we all used to live in but my mom, sister and I live in a new house. I'm 15 now but my dad and I had a great relationship when I was younger, we would always go fishing, grilling or go camping together. My parents weren't separated then and everyone was so happy. I miss that. Then when I was around 12 I remember my dad started being an asshole all the time and he was never home. He got a new job and was always at work I wasn't angry with him for working as he was just trying to help us, but he just started being so hateful to all of us all the time. My mom started drinking due to the stress of being around him, I was suffering from a severe depression and developed anxiety, my sister started doing drugs frequently as well. Everything went to ****. My parents finally separated last year and I've lived with my mom ever since. I go see him sometimes just cause he's my dad you know, but all he does is ***** about my grades(they aren't even bad), he gets angry that I have a black friend and yells about how worthless black people are! I'm not racist and I don't want to hear it. All he does is yell at me when I'm around him and I get so stressed when I stay at his house. I don't even go out there anymore. But now he wants me to live with him?! What are your thoughts? Thanks.

I will try to keep this short. My parents have always asked me if I smoked weed, I always lied and said no. I am a college student and recently got possession of weed, paraphernalia, and 3.5 Xanax pills. Because I live far away I have to call my parents which makes this even more difficult since they don t even know I have ever used any drug. What are suggestions for going about this? hes forcing me to do this, threaten me with no TV, video games, or iphone 7 if i dont go to the appointment with him. So, I'm an 11 year old child. My parents split up when I was around 6-7. But for the past few months I just have not linked being around my dad. He's constantly shouting and getting angry quite easily .. I don't feel safe with him, I feel like.. Some day he will get so angry he will well kill me. My grandma came to live with my parents and I from our country about 3 weeks ago. After I come home from college, I'm expected to look after her until I go to bed at night. I might sound extremely selfish, but I feel if I don't somehow rant, I will explode. This sounds silly, but she took my seat at the dinner table, and sofa. Every time I sit in what was my seat, I am asked to move to give her a place to sit, when there are 4 other seats available. I took a nap after 7 hours of class the other day, and my grandma woke me up by knocking on the door loudly so I can make her something to eat. I've already spoken to my mom and told her I can't handle this additional responsibility while taking 6 college courses, and she said she taught my grandma how to use the microwave. At dinner time however, she just sits there expecting me to do everything when I have to wake up at 5 in the next morning. What can I possibly do to control my anger? I would appreciate it if no rude comments were made regarding my situation. Thank you very much for your answers. My parents both work from the evening, at which point I am alone with my grandma until 11:30 PM. My grandma is not mentally impaired, although she does have heart problems and diabetes, and cannot do strenuous work. In our country, she used to cook and clean every day which is why I am a bit surprised to see she is not doing basic everyday things, like microwaving her own food and washing her own dishes.

I often get mistaken as the opposite gender, it doesn't bother me if I get mistaken as the right gender or the opposite one. I don't let opinions get to me, and I don't dwell on things like that. But it gets my parents livid, they always say "you're not that gender"(the one I get mistaken as) I'm like "Ok and your point is?" I'm not trying to be one. My husbands cousin is 24 years old (we are only 26) and wanted to move to our state for a new perspective and to figure out what she wants to do with her life. We have an extra bedroom so we agreed that she could stay with us while she "gets on her feet" in our state. My husband even got her a job, so she was only "unemployed" for a few days. We agreed to charge her rent that is a fraction of the market rate, and is inclusive of utilities, so that she could save money to get set up on her own. Fast forward 9 months and there is no sign of her leaving. She hasn t saved a penny, despite averaging around $20/hr, sometimes more. Her dog chews up our shoes, pees on our floor (he is a year and a half old.. there is no excuse for him still peeing inside) and we cannot enjoy ourselves in our own living room because he jumps non stop and tries chews on our arms and legs. She also does not clean up after herself. She will watch us do the dishes after we make her dinner...and still put her plate in the now empty sink instead of the half full dishwasher, and not even rinse it. On top of all of that, she cant even pay her dirt cheap rent on time! She spends it all on makeup, clothes, trips etc. She has made zero effort to move out even though we have told her she needs to. We ask her to clean etc. and she does it once and never again. I am literally going crazy over here. But I am the in-law, and she is very sensitive. My first husband Joe was the ultimate "fix it" guy. If there was something wrong with the house, car, computer, etc he would fix it. My parents grew to rely on him to fix anything that went wrong. He would never take any money for his work for them even when it cost him to buy parts to fix something. Joe assured my parents that our divorce would not effect their relationship with him. He would be happy to help them in any way possible. This give them great peace of mind and he did indeed do a lot of work for them after our friendly divorce (yes a friendly divorce is possible). My parents decided it was time for them to show their appreciation to Joe for all the years of help he had given them so they bought him a new car. That is when I had an unexpected problem. My current husband thinks my parents should buy him a new car also because he is "Family" and Joe is not. My current husband has NO skills to fix anything. He has never done anything to help my parents. My parents never mention Joe to my husband and I don't either but he keeps asking about him. I live with my dad and every morning I like to watch netflix on the computer while I wait for the bus. The mouse is always covered with grease which is what he uses to do the do. Im currently going to college in the US, Im a freshman but Im from another country. Every time I go back home to visit, I am happy. I can move back if I want, I have family there. Im currently not happy, I feel very lonely and I want to do what makes me happy, which is going back home and finishing my studies there. I found a great school for the career that I want to do, it will be way cheaper than staying here but my family tells me that studying here is a privilege, that I should stay since Im in one of the best countries in the world, where the education is great. This happened a couple of months ago, and I asked some people for advice then, but it's still bothering me. One day, when I was with my dad, I asked to borrow his phone (I didn't have mine with me) so I could show him a funny YouTube video. He agreed and gave me the phone. He had a few Internet browsers open already, and I noticed one of them appeared to be for Backpage's Adult Entertainment section. I didn't see exactly what was on that browser (thank goodness), but the heading across the top said "backpage adult entertainment." For those who don't know, Backpage is like Craigslist, and its "Adult Entertainment" section contains listings for escorts/prostitutes/strippers/whatever. I didn't say anything and just went to YouTube. Someone told me he could've just been looking at porn, but does anyone really go to Backpage to look at porn? I mean that seriously, does anybody? My parents have been married for more than 30 years. I know I don't have irrefutable evidence either way, but I do need some advice so I can stop thinking about this.

I love my baby but I have such huge resentment for having her and getting pregnant in the first place. I hate everything about being a mother. My family prepares meats in our dinners pretty much every single night so I don't know how i'll get out of that. Most things in my pantry are non-vegan and I don't have money to buy the food I want to for my desired eating. I want to move to a raw, plant-based vegan diet so badly, I love animals and hate every moment I eat one. Besides, it's such a logical diet and it's good for you. My family mock vegans all the time and if they find out that i'm going vegan, they'll surely think i'm mad. I m 15 years old so it s not like I m so little kid who doesn t know right from wrong. I get good grades all the time so it s not like she does it to punish me. I have given her many chances. She is an alcoholic and tries to drag me down. We went out one night and she drove. She was drunk so I was babysitting her and drinking water so I could drive her car. We were walking and I tripped in heels, fell off a curb, and broke my ankle which has been broken so many times it was just hanging off. I started screaming and she said she wasn't calling 911 for me because she didn't want a public drunkenness charge. Someone heard me screaming on the sidewalk and called an ambulance . After that, I heard she went back out drinking more. She called my hospital and asked for info they wouldn't give her so she called my direct room, wasted, at 330am. My daughter has shut me out of my grandsons lives when I have practically raised them due to the fact hers and her partners priorities never altered after having them. I have helped her out financially, practically and emotionally for the past 3 yrs and for the 4th time she has completely blocked me from any contact at all. The latest reason is because I said I couldn't promise I could babysit at her house in the evening because I was unwell with a chest infection and side affects from the antibiotics I had been given. Now she has txt and said she doesn't want anything from me anymore. She has blocked me on Facebook won't return texts or answer calls. To top it off my mother has fallen out with me because my daughter has behaved this way. I've quite frankly had enough of been treat this way but I don't want to miss out on my grandsons growing up one is about to start his first day at school and my youngest is approaching his first birthday. I don't know what to do to fix this. I was present at both their births and we've been extremely close. Any advice would be appreciated

Last Friday,my mum shop had not been a single customer walk in, and this situation continue until today，there are several comes in but just merry-go-round on my mum s shop.my mum sell clothes in Malaysia. Furthermore, my mum is also suffering from stomach paint whenever her menstrual cycle had start. I was worry about my mum.My mum also needed money to pay all the extra bills and rent. Every time when the conversation is the matter of opinion, and I simply disagree with her, she gets mad and terms me as a smart aleck. She then rants about how I have no respect for her, no matter how little the disagreement is. I literally can have no opinion that is opposite to hers, and if I do she ******* rants on and threatens to take away my things if I continue on with my "misbehavior". Note I don't use some harsh tone with my mother I speak extremely calm as possible, yet she still finds that disrespectful. If I don't yell she thinks I don't care or some thing, it's like she want me to yell at her, so she can rag on me some more. I just don't know how to talk to her without her getting mad.

I have to live with my dad all summer and my stepmom gets on my nerves. I do all of the chores she asks me to do, clean up, cook for her before she comes home, set the table, clean up the table, wash the dishes and everything but she just doesn t seem to be pleased. She always complains on how I didn t do one small thing and says how I need to be more responsible the next time I m do those things. The worst part is I already know that, but she thinks I m just always irresponsible and always has a need to complain on one small thing I didn t do. I don t even get a nice thank you for helping her and trust me I do a lot of work for her. My dad just doesn t say anything. One time I helped her clean up the table and all and she got mad because I didn t clean it up all AT THE SAME TIME. Apparently I m not allowed to take two things at a time and make several trips. Not only that, but she forces me to go to bed at 10:30 every night and I am an 18 year old.... I never had a bedtime at my moms and this 10:30 bedtime **** really annoys me because I prefer going to bed at my own time since I know when my body needs to sleep. I m getting fed up with her and her complaining and I just feel like she doesn t like me. I don t know what to do. I tried defending myself but she just starts to complain even more and I get so fed up that I smile and agree with her just so that she would shut up.

My parents are divorced but not officially and Iive together in the same house and they been going through this separation since I was in 8 grade when I Caught my mom cheating, now I'm a senior in high school and I'm tired of everything, I'm tired of their fighting and I fight with my mom too, today I told her to not call me her daughter because she does not treat me like one and that I want her to leave already because all everyone in the house does is fight, and she said said that i cant make her and I feel tired and depressed and emotianally drained and can't take it anymore I feel so affected by everything but no one asks to see if I'm okay and I know my sister also gets sad when they fight. I hate my dad's girlfriend. She's always annoying me, and when I come over to visit my dad on the weekends, she always takes his attention away from me. We once went to the movies and she ended up making it like a date for her and my father. He ignored me the whole time and spent it kissing and hugging her. Then when we were driving back, she looked back at me and snickered, "I bet you liked the movie!" And I heard her say under her breath, "Little brat." My dad didn't hear her and just smiled like everyone had had a great time. Soon after we got home, they told me to go do something in my room while they spent time together in the living room. I'll try to make this short. I live with my mom and father. Both elderly. I collect SSI for a disability. My mom takes all of my money and refuses to give me any. She refuses to let me leave her sight or get a car or be even slightly independent. I'm 25. I have OCD not mental retardation. I'm tired of living like this - I want to make a run for it - her's the problem...if I leave my mom will try to convince them to come get me. Or at least that's why she tells me she'll do. That if I ever leave her she'll get the cops to find me because I'm "not right" - despite doctors disagreeing. She uses my OCD as a leverage and I want to start living no existing. My question is how do I "runaway" (again, I'm 25) while not leaving any hint of foul play or allowing my mother to sic the search parties on me? If that's even realistic I'm not sure.

So, when my mother was 12-18 she battled anorexia severely. She has always been very open about this because she heard your chances of developing it are higher if a family memeber has had it, and she wants me to tell her if I ever get any of these symptoms because she wants to help me before I go as far as she did. She used to eat only 300-600 calories a day, and if she went over that she would purge in the shower, because it was the only place my grandmother couldn't hear her. She moved out when she was 18, only a month after her recovery because the house had a lot of bad memories. She met my father and moved to the other side of the country at 19, and had me when she was 22. My grandma and grandpa come to visit us all the time, but we would never go see them, because my mother really didn't like being in the house. 3 days ago, grandpa died, so me and mom flew to her childhood house yesterday, for the funeral tomorrow. My mom was really nervous walking around the house. She hardly ate a thing, but I mean, she just lost her dad, being upset can make people not eat. But then, she was in the shower this morning and I heard her coughing for like 45 seconds straight, then she got out as if nothing happened. Do you think being in the house and the pain of losing her dad could be making her relapse??? I am 15 by the way
