Question: Signing over right's to child.? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 09:25 PM PDT A friend of mine has a 14 day old daughter, whose father has now filed for divorce from my friend. She has told me that he not only is filing for divorce, but is also wanting to sign over his rights to her, because she has the baby with her right now (he is in Florida, she is in Illinois). I told her I don't think he can just "sign over his rights because of that),but she thinks he can. I would think there would have to be a more legit reason as to why he needs his rights terminated. Does anyone know about terminating parental rights laws in Florida? I'm thinking he is doing this,so he doesn't have to pay child support. |
Posted: 15 Sep 2016 09:16 PM PDT Shouldn't it be in the reverse order? Marriage usually comes before kids. But my girlfriend brings up having kids with me literally every week. But the second I bring up marriage, she avoids the subject. Makes no sense to me... |

Posted: 15 Sep 2016 08:09 PM PDT I live in Arizona and I am a housewife and my husband is the only one bringing in any sort of wages or money. There will be serious issues obviously if he takes off and leaves me with no income; within a couple of months I will have no electricity water car... etc. I have a disability and don t work, but I have not filed for disability money because it takes lots of paperwork and time, and right now it is unnecessary because he makes plenty of money to cover our expenses. Thank you. |
Question: Should I cut ties with this married man? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 07:56 PM PDT I met this man at work a few years ago. And off the bat things were different between us then everyone else. I acted like a kid with him, and him also with me. I'm 24, he's 29. I can't really explain how it happened but over the years we grew to know and trust each other and it turned into love. I fell in love completely and so did he. And I knew he had a wife. We tell each other everything and I'm this "light that brightens his day/ best part of his day" .This is not your normal affair! We've never even kissed, or even came close to having sex. We've both admitted to our feelings for each other but it's almost like we both don't know what to do. I'm at this point where I've heard way too many stories about becoming a mistress. The drama, guilt, lies & heartbreak. I'm scared of what could happen if I become a mistress. I love him & I know he loves me. Idk what to do. |
Posted: 15 Sep 2016 07:53 PM PDT I was married to my with for 6 years. Lots of craziness / drama and that's putting it lightly! We went to three different therapists and all three diagnosed her with Borderline Personality Disorder. She's 37 if that matters. She has a daughter, we didn't have any children together (thank God). We've been divorced dunces January when she left me. She was starting to date near the end of our divorce and none of that worked out for her. Her ex friend told me how she betrayed her. She spilled the beans on how miserable and sad my ex is. Fast forward, about two months ago she made a big lie about my brother claiming he tried to hit her. Total lie, my brother aid military and was stationed in Korea when this happened. That lie fell apart fast! My guess is she was trying to get me to engage with her but I did not, even though I miss her more than anything. Last night she posted a pic on Facebook of the night I proposed to her. It was a pic from 8 years ago. It was only a pic of her, not me in that pic. I recognized it right away because it was outside a hotel in Paris where we were vacationing. She told her friend that she knows I look at her Facebook. Is this just to hurt me? To make me respond? To get into my head? Or what? If I ignore her like I've been doing, do you expect her to give up, or maybe eventually call me or try harder to get my attention? She's never been single this long yet her ex friend said that she hasn't moved on. She stayed single. Thanks |

I have a disability and don t work , but I have not filed for disability money because it takes lots of paperwork and time, and right now it is unnecessary. Thank you. He makes enough to support us and I don't want to mooch off the taxpayers just for a few extra hundred a month when I do not need it. |
Question: My husband is mentally and emotionally abusive.? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 07:06 PM PDT i told my husband that I wanted a divorce this past May after being married to him almost 9 years. I just couldn't handle the bipolar episodes anymore. He was just mean to me and at times to our 8&6 year old boys. We bought our first home last September which I thought would be a new beginning to our lives but instead things got worse. He sleeps 24/7, doesn't spend time with his boys, hates working, accusing me of cheating at work and complains that I don't have enough money. He's constantly angry, mad at me and the whole world and refuses to take his anxiety and depression pills. Since I filed for a divorce he has stopped paying the mortgage which is now 3 months behind, I have always been responsible for all household bills which come up to $200 less than what he pays. My lawyer told me to continue with my responsibilities until we see the judge to force him to pay mortgage until we sell the house or the divorce is finall. In the mean time, we are stuck in the same house and he yells everyday about the mortgage and says I used him to get a green card which I've had for 8 years and we have two kids together. He talks about me to the boys and calls me *****, slut, whore, gold digger any name in the book and I've had it. Problem is, I can't kick him out unless he assaults me. What can I do? |
Posted: 15 Sep 2016 06:58 PM PDT Since our divorce last January 2014, he has taken me to court three times already to lower my alimony. The last one was March of this year. I filed a show cause on him for not following a court order and he tacked on for my alimony to be modified when I had no change in my income or situation. He on the other hand just bought another house, a new truck and adopted a boy he was fostering with his second wife. I am in school to get a degree full time and this was part of our divorce that I get to go back to school and get my degree as we agreed during our marriage. Is there something I can do? |
Question: Do you think marriage is expensive? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 06:51 PM PDT I'm married and I feel that being married is expensive. My husband and I both own a small home. We own a truck. We have to do maintenance on our home... new AC and install a washer and dryer. We buy groceries and other things. We go the doctors and we pay our bills. Do you feel that marriage is expensive? Some people don't agree with me. I feel that marriage is expensive. |
Posted: 15 Sep 2016 06:47 PM PDT Should they mind their own business or is this universally wrong where they have the right to object? There are children involved who have a mother and father divorcing with the mother walking off with another man she met at the beach two summers back (the other man pursued a friendship). I mostly stayed out of it but have avoided contact with the other man so not to seem like endorsing it. |

Posted: 15 Sep 2016 05:20 PM PDT I offered her a 24 hour sexcapade both call into work and buy some viagra and just have a good time. She rejected it. What's a guy to do? Guys also forgot one more caveat... she shuns pornography because there are OTHER women in it, which I understand but... why are you exempt from doing what they do so I don't need pornography? Btw I'm not ugly, make decent money, and do not have a small one either... to clarify the situation... |

Posted: 15 Sep 2016 03:56 PM PDT My wife and I separated months ago, mostly due to me having to leave the country for a deployment. I have to wait until I return to the states to file for divorce, and she is the one that has asked for the divorce in the first place, even went to someone else for a relationship while I've been gone. Now, she has a few of my things in her possession and is making up excuses to not return my things through a family member while I am gone, she is saying she will return my things when I file the divorce paperwork, and now saying she will return them when I return her mother's wifi router given to us because her mother had an extra router. (Router is about 15-30 dollars, my things add up to over 400 dollars). For some reason, she feels the need to call me rather than text or simply ignore the messages I've had to send through my lawyer/coworkers so I don't stir up too many ill feelings, and in her last voicemail, she had some mixed messages: "if you need anything from me, make sure your lawyer sends the request, and your lawyer alone. We do not need to be contacting each other for anything, even your coworkers. Your things are fine, my mother just wants her router back, so I will return your things when we get her router back." but ended the voicemail with "I do hope you are doing well, and...(long pause)...have a safe trip back. bye." What on earth does she want? Remember, SHE has wanted the divorce from the beginning... |
Question: Husband talks bad about me to female friend... advice please? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 03:54 PM PDT She is a friend he's known for 6 years or so, they are genuinely just good friends, I trust him with her, but our relationship is in marriage counseling right now. We are getting better because of it. We've been married for 9 years. I came home one day to hear him on speaker phone with her, I didn't think much of it. I overheard him talking smack about me about our marriage issues, the girl's boyfriend and his issues how my husband is admitting to feeling "stuck" in our marriage and said things like I was crazy, and other hurtful things he never admitted to me or our therapist. I've always been secure that he loves me but now I'm not so sure. But she seems to be a real crying shoulder for everything. He half-truths about a lot of things, he dramatized certain things in his story regarding me. Lied about he and I having sex only once a month (we have it at least 2 times a week!) Sounds like he is trying to get closer to her by playing victim or something, I don't know. But it's all a pack of lies. Basically it all came down to I can't trust him and how he truly feels about me. He's a two-faced liar. She seems to have a ton of relationship issues herself - the friend is in an emotionally abusive relationship and I agree she needs to get out ..violent and substance abuse |
Question: Divorce or stay together? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 03:49 PM PDT My husband and I are a young couple and we're just past 9 months of marriage and for most of this time we've had problems. I'm turning into someone who is completely self reliant, very independent, (more so that I already was), I have bigger goals that I did before our marriage and I want to be able to do everything at least once travel, go back to school, and learn new things constantly. My husband though is turning into someone who parties, hangs out with younger guys and even being arrogant. He puts himself more important than others. When we were dating he use to get mad at friends around him for using the N word. (We're white) now he's laughing at jokes like "there's a black man and a Mexican in a car, whos driving? A cop". I'm someone who absolutely does not talurate racism or segregation and it's becoming present in him. I'm religious, catholic and he doesn't even make an effort to practice be a Lutheran that he was raised to be. I want to explore and he wants to stay in our small town. I want a divorce but he doesn't. I'm possibly even in love with someone else (he knows) he still want to stay together. I think I want to leave. I'm battling with staying because I don't want to hurt him and I made a commitment and leaving because it will set me free and make me happier that in the long run it will be what's best for me. Any advice what I should do? |
Question: NYS law regarding taking my child out of state? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 03:45 PM PDT I am currently married. Long story short...I live in Clifton park NY, I want to leave my husband and take our child with me. There is no custody agreement, no divorce. We live together and because of his work schedule I can only work part time which getting a lawyer is out of the question, and moving out is out of the question. I have no family and friends here so I have no one to go to. I have called shelters and I can't get any help because it is not a domestic abuse situation and because no one is in danger. I have a good reason why I want to leave him. its personal and it involves my other daughter which is his step daughter and him. Living in the state that I do, can I just up and leave? I don't mind telling him where I would go that way he can't say I am keeping his daughter whereabouts. I just need some advice. Please help! |

Question: How do I proceed in my divorce? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 02:48 PM PDT My wife and I are getting divorced. We have no kids or complicated assets such as houses or property and both resided in michigan prior to the divorce. I now live out of state. During seperation we agreed on conditions such as who is responsible for what debts, drafted an agreement and signed and notarized. This morning I got paperwork in the mail from her/court starting the process. The paperwork is very simple and only requests equal distribution of posessions and debts. I have read I should file a counterclaim with my answer which I think should include a copy if the seperation agreement?? I am at a loss and dont know how to proceed. We both want the divorce, want stuff to be distributed fairly and want the process to be very fast and cheap but I want to make sure I dont get screwed, I know how I answer will be very critical. Ideas/suggestions??? |

Question: Is getting married a waste of time? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 12:11 PM PDT I'm 16, and I currently don't understand the appeal of marriage... From what I can tell, it's just an unneeded limitation. I've never had a girlfriend-- so, that could be why. But, for the most part, I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. So, what's with marriage? I mean... If you're somebody who wants to have kids, I guess I can understand. But, as a guy who has 4 younger siblings (one is a baby still), kids can really get on my nerves. I've pretty much seen all of the stages, first-hand... Preference, I guess? I can also understand why somebody might want a romantic relationship... But, you can have that without marriage. Besides-- half of marriages end in divorce. Considering how much a person can change in a year, I can only expect people to split apart, over time. Variety is the spice of life, and expecting your current loyalties to maintain a linear path, for an entire lifetime, is a bit much. There's a reason why people rarely sign lifetime contracts. Why do we make the exception with marriage? And, I haven't even mentioned how time consuming such a relationship can be... As many say, the romance of marriage dies after the honeymoon. With all of the responsibilities we must mantain in life, a perpetual intimate relationship-- along with the potential of children-- seems unnecessarily weighty. So then... Why is marriage still such a big deal? Why is it still held up with such an esteem? Personally, I don't understand it... Is there something I'm missing here? |

They're looking for before-they-were-married old flames! My curiosity got the best of me and I found my now married ex boyfriend on there with pics of his family. I didn't say anything to him. I know plenty of other happily married people who are not on FB. Mind you, thats why I broke up with him 15 years ago for CHEATING. He hurt me really bad! Great answer! I didn't mean the one star. |

Question: Married couples that have a kid and work? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 07:52 AM PDT I have a question about married couples that both work and have had, are going to or thinking about having a kid. This radio host guy I listen to all this morning went on a rant that the mother should not work and should be with the kid ideally. So if your a working mother why not quit your job with that logic until the kid goes to preschool? What's the point of maturity leave? Daycare is expensive but if the woman has a job still has disposable income for the family. When the mother has maturity leave from work what is so detrimental about the mother putting the child in day care? Then a caller ranted back to the radio talk show host and the radio talk show host went on some pointless rant about it's better to have less and a smaller house and not working then having a bigger house but having to work placing the kid in daycare. Does this make any sense at all? Btw hardly any couple I know that has had kids the mom doesn't work. Sometimes, but usually not. |
Question: Why is my wife is treating me like one of the kids? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 07:20 AM PDT The last couple of days, my wife has been treating me like I'm one of the kids. Last night, she was interrogating me as to my intentions and reasons for going to an event at our church. She said the reason I gave her wasn't good enough, and that I should reconsider my position to determine whether I really WANT to go or not. She lectured me on the difference between I HAVE to vs. I WANT to. She's been sick all week, and was barely able to even sit at the table to eat dinner last night. I could tell she was a little irritated with me over the answers I was giving. She refuses to take time off work to rest. She said that she's taken too much time this month (our kids were sick all last week). I think she wants me to not go this weekend, so I can be available to help with the kids. But the people at the church are already expecting me to be there, and I don't really want to hear any comments when we go service on Sunday. Missy, no her birthday is not this weekend. Her sister's birthday is sometime in the next few days. My idiotic brother-in-law registered us both for this event without telling me--just so he doesn't have to go alone. So now I deal with her and her b*tchy sister, which is where my kids got sick in the first place. |

Question: I don't know what to do anymore...my husband puts gaming first.? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 06:15 AM PDT Ive been married for 6 years and I have 2 little girls (4 yr old and 3 month old). My husband is in the Army and he works a lot. The problem is that he is stuck in a room, gaming all the time when he is home. I've been putting up with this for so long now. It used to be worse before we had kids, but it's still bad to were I contemplate my life...I'm depressed. This is how his day usually goes. wakes up and goes to work, comes home for lunch, after work he takes a shower and eats, then he might spend maybe 30 minutes downstairs with us (while the food is being made, Etc.) Around 5pm, he comes home and by 6pm, he is in his game room until 11:30-3am in the morning gaming. He gives our 4 year old, his cell phone so she can watch her kid videos - he does this for she doesn't bother him. She is on that phone for 4-5 hours until she goes to bed. Me, well my *** is sitting in the room with him, watching netflix because that's his idea of spending time together- by me being in the room with him. i've tried talking to him and last night, i told him that i can't live my life like this. He got upset and said, "I'm always the one who has to change because you're so damn 'perfect'". I want to do things with my family, not sit in a room all day. On the weekends he is in there for over 10 hours...idk what to do anymore. please help me....i don't have anyone to talk to. i love him and i don't want a divorce. |
Question: How do I save my marriage - in the 'looks' department? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 06:05 AM PDT I've been married 5 years, I married my wife because of her values, qualities, personality, and looks. However, after the 1st year of marriage, the reasons I married her seemed to fade away, in particular my feelings of attraction for her. That's the biggest problem right now for me. We have talked about her being a better wife, and she is doing better, but I just don't find her attractive at all!! I have no plans to divorce, but finding my wife attractive looking and sexy is SUPER important to me, and I just don't see her that way. She's put on a lot of weight, and I'm pretty disgusted by it.. I want to WANT to have sex with her. All her positive qualities right now are cancelled out because of how overweight and un-attractive she is to me. I know that's sad, but that's just how it is.. Is there a way I can change the way I look upon my wife so that she is sexy and attractive to me? I don't look at porn or other women because I want to love MY spouse and find her sexy and attractive. |

Question: How do i get my wife to trust and believe im not cheating on her? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 02:23 AM PDT My wife constantly thinks that I am cheating on her no matter how much i show her that I am not. She tells me that she believes me but i constantly find proof she does not. We just had an argument about this and 2 days later i find a few screenshotted pictures of a semi attractive chick which with her means shes trying to set me up on a social media or dating sight that i so not have anymore. Its getting ridiculous and i dont know how much longer i can be where theres no trust. |
