Posted: 22 Sep 2016 10:00 PM PDT I love my ring, fake or not. The setting it s in is beautiful. However, as I ve warn it the stone has dulled and I want to replace the stone with something that will shine a lifetime. Is that ****** up? Should I just continue to wear it and keep my mouth shut? |
Question: Marriage license timing.? Posted: 22 Sep 2016 05:03 PM PDT Friday December 30. Yay! Of course.. I want to make sure we are legally married no later than dec 31 for tax and insurances. If we get the license a day before and have the officiant sign it on dec 30, but don t return it to the court house until the week after since the courthouse is closed on dec 31 since it s a Saturday. (Probably have it done like January 5th let s say) do we run into a problem with having it count for 2017 vs 2016/preferred? Or are we fine because the signatures all happened on dec 30... Just wondering in case we have to do all this paperwork extra early before the ceremony with i don t want to do for wife/ministers potential sentimental bs possibilities.. I m sure we aren t the first one tackling this. Thanks |
Question: Is a promise ring a pre-engagement ring? Posted: 22 Sep 2016 04:54 PM PDT My friend s boyfriend is giving her a promise ring and I am just curious as to what the meaning behind it is. Obviously it means something different for each person, but I am just curious what the general population thinks. They are both 20 so it s not like they are 15 in high school and I know he spent $379.00 on it (because he s been getting my advice on it and keeping me in the loop). So is it a pre-engagement ring or just something that shows they are committed and monogamous (because I kind of thought that s what being in a relationship was)? Thanks! |

Question: Fiance wants to include his dad as a groomsmen in our wedding. What do I do? Posted: 22 Sep 2016 10:22 AM PDT My soon to be husband wants his dad as one of his groomsmen for our wedding in March. I think it would be kind of weird for someone in his 50s to be with a group of 20 somethings. We are still in our early stages of choosing our bridemaids and groomsmen, but we have a solid idea of who we want. I am choosing my best friend as MOH, his two sisters as bridesmaids as well as four of my friends. My husband is choosing his brother as best man, my brother and four of his friends and now he has told me he wants to have his dad as one of his groomsmen. I am not sure how I feel about this because like I said I think it would be kid of weird to have someone in their 50s be part of a wedding party filled with a bunch of 20 somethings. So do you think I should say something or should I leave it alone? |
Question: Did you have your fiance's brother's wife as a bridesmaid? Posted: 22 Sep 2016 09:58 AM PDT The reason I am asking this is because I am torn between having my friend from college or my future sister-in-law ( if that's what she is) as one of my bridesmaids. Thankfully neither girl is giving me any drama but I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. I would have them both but that would mean I would have 9 bridesmaids to my husband's 8 groomsmen. Yeah I know people can have an uneven number of bridesmaids and groomsmen but i am very OCD. So who do you think I should have as a my final bridesmaid? |
Question: Is 23 too old for a flower girl? Posted: 22 Sep 2016 09:36 AM PDT I asked one of my 23 year old friends to be a flower girl in our upcoming wedding, but she got upset and now is she saying she will not be attending our wedding. I really want for her to be there on our special day. Unfortunately I could not squeeze her into the wedding party because I already have 8 bridemaids and did not want to have another one. Is there another way for her to be in our wedding even though she's not part of the wedding party? |
Question: Honeymoon destination? Posted: 22 Sep 2016 07:15 AM PDT We are getting married Nov 5th. We are looking to try to find a honeymoon destination in the US. We only have 4 vacation days from work. (Sunday - thursday) We live in chicagoland. |
Question: How much is my ring worth? Posted: 22 Sep 2016 03:20 AM PDT My fiancé and I are splitting up. In order to afford separate expenses and households I need to sell my engagement ring. My mother in law is a goldsmith and made my ring special for my fiancé. Honestly I have no clue how much it s worth. I m definitely not going to her with that question. Just curious if anyone would have any idea? I know it s a "level D" or "grade D" clarity and the middle diamond is a .78k and a 24k white gold band. Thanks so much!! https://flic.kr/p/Mmx6VM https://flic.kr/p/MiQgao |
