So my wedding is in june of 2017 and me and my fiance decided to have a backyard bbq being that his parents yard is really large and perfect for 200 guest. We really wanna spend our money on exspensive meats that will be enjoyable for everyone ribs chicken steak shrimp ect ect so i was gonna ask my close family and friends to bring side dishes im just worried some might bring to much of the same thing which did happen a few months ago at a family cook out 5 people ended up bringing potato salad lol.. So would it be wrong to leave on the invitations what side dish we would prefer or is this kinda rude? And also what are your thoughts on a backyard bbq for a wedding is it tacky?

I received a card for a wedding that I can't make. There is no RSVP anywhere on the card, and the return address is outdated as the host no longer lives there. Should I just not respond? Thanks
