Question: Should I try to intervene even though it isn't my wedding or even frankly my business? Posted: 26 Dec 2015 09:43 PM PST A friend (we'll call him "friend 2") of a friend (we'll call her "friend 1") just invited me to his wedding...but the fiance of friend 2 is making friend 1 her maid of honor. Not only has friend 1 never actually MET IN PERSON friend 2 or his fiance (neither have I), but the fiance has a sister who was not chosen to be maid of honor. Basically, the bride is making a "stranger" her maid of honor over her own flesh and blood. Friend 1 is a good friend from school, and I feel like I should say something to her because she'll probably understand my concerns, but also, it's really not my business because as I said, neither of us has personally MET this couple -- only gamed/talked with them online. What do you think? |
Question: When is a good time to propose? Posted: 26 Dec 2015 06:51 PM PST I'm not saying right now, but I if I keep saying "I'm not saying right now," it will never happen. A childhood friend of mine, who is now living in the same Freshman dorm building as I am in college, got engaged to his girlfriend a few months ago. He says they both agreed not to get married until *after* college, which is a wise move. But how soon is too soon? I want to ensure my girlfriend and her family that I'm in it for the long run. Her and I both agree that marriage is the goal of our long-term relationship, and we've even talked about the time of year we'd want, a location, etc. She seems comfortable and even proud to say she wants to marry me one day. TL;DR: 1) How early is too early to propose? 2) What does a proposal mean to *you?* 3) What criteria would indicate a practical time to propose? |
Question: Should I wear my engagement ring to class? Or should I take it off? Posted: 26 Dec 2015 06:40 PM PST I'm 20 years old and I'm still in college. My boyfriend propose to me a few days ago. The question is, do I have to wear my engagement ring when I'm going to class or should I just take it off and wear it back when I'm done with my class? FYI, It's not because I don't want to wear the ring. I'm just scared that I might feel uncomfortable wearing it while studying or it might slip out of my finger. |
Question: Keeping my engagement a secret? Posted: 26 Dec 2015 05:43 PM PST My boyfriend and I have been together for 2 years now. I am about to go to a great college (I'm 18, he's 20) and we agreed to exchange promise rings. We went ahead and got mine first, and I helped choose it. The ring arrived at my house a few days before Christmas, and so on Christmas Eve I presented it to him and told him that he can give it back to me any time. So instead of holding onto it, he proposed to me with that ring. He later told me that it was his plan all along. Now, the problem is that his best friend just got engaged about a month ago, and we don't want to steal their thunder since they've been together for 3 years and the girlfriend is also 18. He told me to tell everyone that the ring is just a promise ring and wait 6-12 months after they got married to announce our engagement. I agreed with this, but just found out today that their wedding isn't until 2017 because she's going into the army and doesn't want to fill out all the paperwork or something. My problem is that I don't want to wait that long to keep it a secret. He's planning on getting me another ring and that would be the engagement ring. I feel as though if we waited until 2017-2018 to announce our engagement that people would feel deceived. I know I would. I really don't know what to do, and I can't get much advice from friends/family since, you know, it's a secret. So thus, internet, lol. But seriously, any help/advice would be appreciated! |
Question: Can you help me find an engagement or promise ring online that looks like this? Posted: 26 Dec 2015 09:04 AM PST I would really appreciate the help. Anything that looks like this will be fine. I am searching as well but haven't found anything yet and thought maybe getting other people's help would dig something up faster. Thanks so much!! https://s.yimg.com/hd/answers/i/ecbe2ac94d9d42c8a5352c7532465116_A.jpeg?a=answers&mr=0&x=1451156643&s=437865723b8e6c770ed1139f9c91c509 |
