Posted: 24 Dec 2015 02:57 PM PST It makes me really uncomfortable to be there but it's a work function and it's mandatory. I know that sounds ridiculous but well there you go that's my job for you; ridiculous. The wife of my coworker (i.e. the couple who owns the house the party is at) and I got into a serious argument some years ago at a similar event where we both acted pretty immature and have not yet made up. I always just avoid her at these annual parties but I hate going to her house on principle; I wouldn't want someone I disliked coming to my house. Her husband is my coworker and that's why the function is at her house. (NB The argument had nothing to do with her husband (it was over politics - sigh, yes, stupid I know). Just wanted to specify that.) |

Question: In laws keep pestering us to visit christmas? Posted: 24 Dec 2015 11:53 AM PST We were originally going to my in laws house for xmas day. My husband is sick and so am I. I dont feel the need to drive an hour away for a free dinner, just don't. My husband is not getting any better and he has to work Sunday, so we want to rest. His mother calls constantly trying to see if we're coming, he has told her I dont know or we are sick numerous times. Why won't she leave us be? We cancelled the other day on them, they were upset but we are sick. They just cant accept that. Maybe they want to see the children, we don't know. |
Question: Advice for first date? Posted: 24 Dec 2015 10:28 AM PST Hi, so i'm going on a date with a guy i really like so i could really use some advice. -What should I wear? An elegant dress and a statement necklace; or sth more casual like a leather or parka jacket, low/mid heel booties and pay more attention to my makeup? -How should I act? Should I try to be cool and make hilarious jokes? I'm more of a quiet/nerdy kind of girl but this guy doesn't know it. Actually this is a very confident/extrovert guy so i don't wanna appear nerdy. -What subjects should i discuss? -Should I offer to pay the bill? -Is a handshake appropriate to greet/say goodbye? |
Question: Girls- why did she randomly like my post? Posted: 24 Dec 2015 10:10 AM PST I dated this girl for two years and she left me for someone else. They dated for two years and recently broke up. I have not talken to her in 1.5 years. I wrote a post to my best friend on Facebook (she's friends with him on there) and my ex liked it. My friend was also caught off guard. I've written hundreds of posts on his wall but she never liked them, until she just became single. I'm not friends with her on Facebook and I just started seeing someone and I think my ex knows. |
Question: Should a spouse tattle to their in laws about their spouse? Posted: 24 Dec 2015 10:01 AM PST I know a couple who fight constantly. The lady goes to her in laws and tells them that her husband (their son) does this, that, and the other. The in laws recently told them that despite getting involved in the past, they no longer want to hear about it and to stop causing discord in the family with tattling. Her elderly relative is the one who tells her "tell his parents, they need to handle this, this is between the two of you and them because they raised him and its their job to correct him". Her elderly relative even brought up an issue that involves the couple to his parents and the parents just sat there with their mouths open. The elderly person was upset that the parents didn't "step up" and correct their adult son. So, should my girlfriend be constantly trying to involve her in laws like her relative says? |
Question: How do I approach the subject of children with my new husband? Posted: 24 Dec 2015 09:52 AM PST He seemed like such a family guy while we were dating (2 years) and now seems to have done a 180 and doesn't want children. He literally doesn't like even seeing them anymore. I feel misled and disappointed because I'm ready to consider children within the next couple of years, but don't want to force this on him. |

Question: So what happens in a divorce? Posted: 24 Dec 2015 09:11 AM PST I'm just curious Because my parents may be getting one soon :/ |
Question: My neighbors get mad when I walk my dog? Posted: 24 Dec 2015 08:57 AM PST We're minding our own business when some man comes outside and starts yelling at me from a distance. I couldn't hear what he said. So I just went home. We live in a rural city (I just moved here) where most people's dogs are tied to trees or locked up in fences. The problem is, they all bark at my dog which starts a chain reaction and everyone's dogs are barking. I can understand why that might make people mad, but isn't it their fault that they never socialized their dogs properly? My dog doesn't even pee/poop close to their properties. She's a bit overweight and needs exercise. What should I do? |
Question: Adult kids but by BF is too close with his ex-wife? Posted: 24 Dec 2015 07:56 AM PST My boyffriend, 64, is still very close to his ex-wife. They have been divorced for 10 years. They have one adult daughter and one 5 year old grandson. I have two adult children and 3 small grandchildren. I get along great with his daughter and grandson and he gets along great with my kids and grandkids. My ex-husband divorced almost 10 years ago because he cheated on me. I don't know the details of my boyfriends divorce but he says it was mutual and there was no cheating. Here's the problem.....we have been together for 4 years now. But during the holidays he always travels to his daughters house where he celebrates with his daughter, grandson AND ex-wife. I went a couple of times but felt EXTREMELY uncomfortable, like a third wheel. I told him that his relationship with her seems a bit too close. They exchange Christmas gifts, birthday gifts and cards throughout the year. He says that if he showed up with a gift for his ex, his grandson would be confused. I told him that I didn't think he would as his daughter and her husband are divorced. |

Question: Was i molested by my moms boyfriend? Posted: 24 Dec 2015 01:36 AM PST This guy (lets call him john) was a family friend, neighbor and also owned a buisness with my mom. (This is when i was 12) He was always at our house and he would always buy me stuff. And whenever my parents werent around he would compliment me A LOT. Usually always about my lips and eyes. Then on halloween he took my cousin and i trick or treating. My cousin went off to ask for candies. While he went away john touched my lower back near my butt and kept rubbing me there and grabbing me by my hips as if i was his girlfriend. I got scared because it felt inappropriate. He noticed and asked, " is it okay if i touch you like this, its okay its just your so pretty" i frozed up and my cousin came back and he backed off. years after im 16 now and hes back in my life as my moms boyfriend. When i found out i told this to my mom and she told me it wasnt like that, he was just being nice. And if i tried saying it was bad i was just trying to ruin her happiness. Im so confused, did he actually do something wrong ? Or is it just me? Idk:/ |
Question: Is it normal to miss someone you barely knew? Posted: 24 Dec 2015 12:23 AM PST So me and this other person barely had a relationship-we were just mutuals on tumblr. I always thought of her as kind of cute (as in like sweet puppy, not attractive), and it was always nice to see her on my dash, get notes from her, stuff like that. She recently passed away and I'm still horrified by it. I break down, I think about it at random times of the day and it just deeply saddens me. We weren't even talking! We didn't even know each others names, so why do I miss them as if we were best friends? |

Question: How to tell off a coworker? Posted: 23 Dec 2015 10:24 PM PST This guy is in a relationship. He keeps flirting with people and at first I Like the attention but then he made me mad. He constantly pokes me. He calls me independent woman and tries to get me to look at his butt. He also calls me a ridiculous nickname that I don't want to be called. I don't want his opinion about me. I don't want to be touched and I want to be respected and called by my actual name. How do I tell him off? |
Question: Is there hope in ever getting close again or having another movie night ? Posted: 23 Dec 2015 10:22 PM PST Long story short. lost my vision freshman year in injury & went blind for 1 year needed 3 surgeries! got vision back before sophomore year. (I'm visually impaired) .. I met a freshman johnny in my class. He's very mature & sweet. he volunteered to help walk me to class (couldn't see well). We started talking/texting, saying how beautiful I am & how my impairment didn't faze him, I liked him so much, we both did.. He took me to homecoming, we started to get very close. He told me he never went out with one. Neither have I with a guy. He came Over for a movie night, he held my hand.. It was so special we both wanted to have another! he lived it so much.. 2 weeks later (the week his sister passed 3 yrs ago) he just stopped walking me, he wouldn't talk to me.. I don't even know why, he never told me anything. I know I didn't do anything wrong..our moms always hung out in the summer so I'd always see him & he's say hi, give hugs..it's junior year & he's a sophomore. We see each other in the hall ways, he always comes to hug me & we talk.. Today I gave him a candy cane & a note thanking him for the movie night we had, how it meant a lot to me & how maybe we can have another someday.. (Momo died so I want loved ones to know they're special to me) when I gave it to him his face lit up with happiness & he gave me a big hug & told me he loved it so much.. I've never seen him so happy, it was honestly magical.. What do you think he thought of it? do you think there is hope? |
Question: Why is snap failing to send? Posted: 23 Dec 2015 08:48 PM PST I had blocked this girl from snapchat and I unblocked her and added her back. I sent a snap but it says fail to send? Idk if it's because she hasn't added me back or she deleted me? I know she didn't block me cause I found her name on the search engine quickly and added her and is now on my friends list but she hasn't added me back. I also don't think it's my phone because I send my friend a snap and there was no problem. Is she not logged in? HELP?? |

Question: Why do people see being a housewife as a bad thing? Posted: 23 Dec 2015 06:20 PM PST I am a well educated woman. i have a master s in finance. I have worked as a financial analyst for about 4 years. I have been married for 5 years now, and I have a 3 year old daughter. I don t feel like there is nothing wrong with me being a housewife/stay at home mom. My husband and I are very successful financially, as he is a professional athlete and is worth millions. I am sick and tired of my peers looking down on me for being a housewife. |
Question: Is this case of flirting (two women)? Posted: 23 Dec 2015 06:05 PM PST There is this woman on my job. We work closely together because we have the same students. I thought and still think she is a very nice person. As weeks progressed I noticed I started developing feelings for her. I never showed her that I did neither did I tell her. Soon after my feeling surfaced I noticed she started watching me. Soon we both began staring at each other. One day when I was walking down the hall I turned around and she was looking right at me. I went into another room and looked out and saw that she was watching the room I went in. She make excuses to touch me and I do the same to her. However, I heard she was in a serious relationship. When I asked her what she was doing this Christmas she was reluctant to tell me. I wonder is it because she was trying to conceal she was going to be with her boyfriend. What is going on? And what should I do at this point? I am a woman by the way. |
Question: What is with people that "tell it as it is"? Posted: 23 Dec 2015 04:30 PM PST Did you ever meet someone like this? What goes through their minds? I can understand standing your ground and all but these people are just plain rude. I noticed they can run their mouth all day but if you say anything back you are considered a dick. It makes no sense. Plus these kind of people brag about how "honest" they are like it makes them special or something. |
Question: Feeling heartbroken and depressed, can anyone please give me some advice? Posted: 23 Dec 2015 03:49 PM PST So I got excited last night because I thought I was about to get a chance to meet my favorite singer. I heard that she was having a concert near me in february and I was gonna go see her. Turns out she isn't even sure that she is having that concert in february in the city near me. I am trying my best to go and see her but it seems like I feel like I would never have the oppurtunity to. Anyone have any advice for me ? |
