Posted: 22 Dec 2015 06:37 PM PST They will be married this June. I was asked right away by my future sister in law to be a bridesmaid. I of course said yes and since then we ve gotten closer. I even considered her one of my good friends. The reason I no longer want to be involved is being around her with other people(other bridesmaids) she is completely two faced and so are they. They constantly talk about the last person who left the room and act like high schoolers. (We re mid 20 s) I find it uncomfortable to be around them and no longer feel I can trust my sister in law specifically because of a petty fight where she exclaimed I was lucky I was her sister in law. (Lucky for what I don t know but I perceived it in a threatening way.) We haven t talked much since then but I ve determined I don t like her very much for who she actually is and can tell she has in the past put up a front around me.I am deciding whether I should bow out, suck it up for my brother our something in between. I just can t imagine it being anything more than a pain to be around all of these other women for all the parties and events that are expected of a bridesmaid. |

Question: Is 6 years too long to be engaged? Posted: 22 Dec 2015 03:39 PM PST He proposed to me 3 months after we got together and I've been waiting and waiting and waiting to try and plan a wedding that seems like will never happen. He kept saying wait till we are more financially stable. It's been 6 years and were in worse shape moneywise than before. He quit a good paying job to work at subway because he was "bored with it" Now he's saying there's really no point in getting married its just a piece of paper. And no one else in his family is married. He said "I guess we can since you want to" I got so irritated with waiting I said lets just go to the courthouse. Even though I really wanted an actual wedding. Now he thinks he can get away with just a courthouse wedding to shut me up. I really don't feel like I should settle with that as long as he's put me off. I'm almost to the point on giving up on him entirely instead of wasting more years. |

Posted: 17 Dec 2015 01:30 PM PST We are both 21 and co workers at a retail store.. we been going out for 2 months now and i am ready to propose to her tomorrow at work.. we are having a big holiday party at night time everyone will be there and i will propose with a ring. Wish me luck please |
Posted: 17 Dec 2015 01:27 PM PST We've been dating 8 months we talk a lot about our future people always refer to us as hubby or wifey. I'm just curious could this be a proposal and if it's not what finger do I put the ring on |
Question: Is he going to propose? Posted: 17 Dec 2015 07:40 AM PST My boyfriend and I have been together a few months, we're always together and are head over heels in love. Lately he's been dropping hints that he's going to ask me to marry him, but he hasn't gone into too much detail. One night he said he was even talking about it with his mom. Last night he said he bought my last Christmas present and that it was the smallest in size but the biggest in value, and that I will love it. Do you think he is going to propose?! One night he also whispered in my ear and asked me to marry him, when I said what all he replied with was "Never mind you'll find out soon." |

Posted: 16 Dec 2015 12:50 PM PST My fiancé is a retired and disabled vet. He doesn't make a lot of money. He bought a promise ring as my engagement ring. Frankly, I would love anything that he bough for me. When others looked at my ring, they have said that my ring is "immature, childish, gaudy, or tacky". I don't think my ring is any of those things. It's not a traditional, but I'm really not a traditional kind of person. This is my engagement ring: http://www.amazon.com/0-05-ct-Diamonds-Together-4Ever/dp/B017MV5PSQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1450298835&sr=1-1&nodeID=9539894011&keywords=platinum+promise+rings&refinements=p_n_material_two_browse-bin%3A114275011 What do you think? |
Question: Bridal Shower Help! Honeyfund Shower!? Posted: 16 Dec 2015 12:03 PM PST My best friend is getting married. Myself and 5 other bridesmaids are planning a shower for her. She handed us a (very large) guest list of 70 people. However, she is not having a traditional registry. They are only having a honeyfund. I thought the point of a shower in the first place was to open gifts. How can we keep it from being a snooze fest, while skipping the gift opening portion of the party? Is it boring to just play games the whole time? |

Posted: 15 Dec 2015 12:47 PM PST I've noticed that some wedding announcements in the newspaper include this information in addition to the backgrounds of the bride and groom. I think the focus of the announcement should be on the bride and groom not their parents. What do you think? |

Posted: 15 Dec 2015 11:01 AM PST My fiancé and I want A VAST variety of music. From country, hip hop, funk, 80 s pop, classic rock. I found a great band that costs about 2grand for 2 hours, and plus a dj would be 2500 for both. |
Posted: 15 Dec 2015 08:48 AM PST Would this hurt your reputation in planning a wedding if you plan to get married, invited all your family, friends, and acquaintances to your wedding and if they made arrangements to get off work to go to your wedding but just a month before your wedding plans happen, your fiancee breaks up with you and decides she doesn't want to get married! What will happen then? Will this be very hurtful and will this make you look bad? Will your family be able to sue you for cancelling the wedding at the last minute? |
Question: What does the best man s date wear? Posted: 15 Dec 2015 07:39 AM PST I am going to a wedding in January, where my fiance is the best man. The groom is telling my fiance just wear a black tux...not specifying any colors or anything, and my fiance doesnt know the bride very well or how to contact her. The bride currently lives in Japan, where she met the groom on their military base. The groom lives in South Carolina. Both me and my fiance live in Florida. Needless to say he has no way of contacting the bride and has only met her once lol (i have NEVER met her). We went to mens warehouse to look at tuxes for my fiance, but with VERY limited details they couldnt really do anything for him. As the date, i also have no idea what to wear....no idea what bridesmaids are wearing either. I stalked her facebook profile a little and I see that shes looking at ball gowns...so luckily I dont really have to worry about upscaling the bride. I just have no idea what to do haha...either for me OR him. |
Question: Low budget honeymoon spots on East coast US? Posted: 15 Dec 2015 07:27 AM PST Ok i would like to find some inexpensive spots for my honeymoon. We live in CT, USA. My fiance are getting married in June 4, 2016 and are planning to do a honeymoon after that for a few days. it's so expensive to find anything and that my fiance is not a big fan of flying so we are thinking anywhere we could drive a couple hours to a destination and hopefully find hotel rates that are less than probably 150 a night or so. in terms of activities we are open to activities. any suggestions is appreciated! thanks. |
Posted: 15 Dec 2015 12:51 AM PST I m about to be in my cousin s, and I am nervous as f, there are going to be almost 300 guests. I m afraid I ll trip, or the girl I m walking down the aisle will trip. |
Question: Fiancé told me he feels he should of gotten bigger engagement ring for me? Posted: 14 Dec 2015 10:22 PM PST He told me he feels like he could of gotten a bigger ring for me, he got me a past present future ring it's a medium size but I loved it since the first day. To me that's not whats important. What's important is his loyalty and caring through the rest of our life's. But he told me that i'dk why he feels tht way. I asked him but he said he doesn't know why he just feels that way. Why do you think he said that? I've never made a bad comment about the ring, I even told him I loved it, and thanked him for it. I don't understand |
Question: Will this relationship ever work? Posted: 14 Dec 2015 10:05 PM PST I am 27. She is 45. We started dating 5-6 months ago. We got engaged 2 weeks ago. We are having some differences. This is my first true love (so it seems) and this is her 4th or 5th serious relationship. I'm possessive and very emotional. I hate being so but I can't help it. She is like totally unemotional, which I hate too. I text her many times a day and my messages are long and expressive. Her messages are short and precise. Almost unromantic. Here is my problem. She has 3 hrs of free time when she goes home from work on train and she doesn't often text me or even call me most of the days when on train when one would usually get bored. This happens very often it's as if she doesn't care about me and just needs me to take care of her now that she is pregnant. She talks to her friends and parents and who not but not so much with her fiance (me). The problem is she had so many past relationships. I'm scared if she even loves me or just needs me. Here is an argument we had today (exact dialogues): Me: Please call me in the evening. (3 hrs later. No call) Me: Busy? (no reply) Me: Oh well... Her: Sorry. M ph died. Feeling skeepy and a heart burn. Not enough sleep. We know what we mean f each other and i dont want to talk about feelings anymore. We have what we need. Me: Just thought it would be nice if your fiance calls you. Get some sleep. Me: I'm so sorry, I did't want to get emotional. I just love you and time away from you hurts so much. (I send some emotional stuff) Me: Cooling down now. Sorry about that emotional outburst. Just spend more time with me and everything will be fine. Couples and partners are supposed to spend most of their time with each other and not away from each other, no matter what. Me: Emotionally, I feel you are my wife. So, when you are away...emotions spark off. You can have all your personal space and time with friends, as I do, but I need you too.I got so much crap from everyone I know for dating you. Things like don't do this, this is bad and all. I ignored every single one of them and committed myself to you. Me: That shows how much you mean to me, and it makes me expect a bit from you too. I trust you completely. Otherwise, I wouldn't go this far for you. I just request more time and attention, that's all. Only if you feel like giving. Me: If I cannot ask my LIFE partner for attention and time, who can I ask, dear? Her: I will see u this Wednesday. I dont need reassurance every minute about feelings. Will be spending every day w each other when we move in. But i do need some space to be by my myself. On thise days i like to take a walk alone. No reason to get emotional. U have my hand. Just concentrate on earning money now for us and kids. Me: This is where we are different. Very different. You strongly believe in personal space and I do too, but I also feel personal space is not for that one most special person in your life, who is your partner. I think, no matter what the one most important bond any person should have is with his/her partner and if that is not the case, they probably chose the wrong partner. Now, this doesn't mean I'll be interfering in your personal matters. Her: Most of the times will walk together. But on occasional i like to do it alone. I feel that people are not attached at the hip and personal space is important as well as time togeather. Me: May be I wouldn't get so emotional if my friends were more supporting of our relationship and when I don't get to see or hear from you, I feel so alone since I chose not to listen to their advice. Her: I love u. Relax. And stop listening to silly people. Me: I did stop listening to them long back. That's why I committed 101% to you. I know you love me. But, away time hurts. Ok, I have a proposal. Listen. Her: I will tell u when i need personal space Me: Ok, but I need a LOT of together time whe you don't need personal space. Her: No reason to debate rhat. U want things to work. Thats what i need. Me: You do enjoy the together time spent with me, right? Her: Yes. But relationships with me work when i dont get limit on personal space. Just know that. Me: Don't scare me. We got to make this work anyhow. No going back now. Fine, personal space. I'll keep that in mind Her: I am done talking about relationships. What we have is good. Me: It's good in theory. In practice, it's too much away time for me. Hopefully things will change coz every moment spent with you is pure GOLD and it makes me greedy Her: The less u talk about relationships. The closer i ll be w u Her: The less u r emotional. The more i will love u Her: The less u push. The more time i would want to spend w u Her: But u dont need to talk about every 5 min about feelings Me: This is a new feeling to me. Let me get used to it. Me: Fine, less emotion, less pushing and no more talk about the relationship is what you'll get. Her: I am going to bed and i want u to realize one thing. Love doesnt need 24 x 7 talk about relationship. I want to come home and see u asking me how was my day. Kiss me when i walk in and hug me. For us to cook dinner togeather. Walk in the park. Then i may want to go to bed earlier or watch tv when u may study. Her: I dont do well with controling men. So for me for things to work i told u what i need Me: I get that. Just listen to this one thing I'm about to say, dear. What you said is a hallmark of a mature and healthy relationship and that is what I want too. But... Me: But, there is something called FIRST LOVE. Ignoring that short thing with my cousin, this is my first love. Did you forgert how people do crazy things in first love? I can't be this crazy about you all my life even if I wanted to. You need to just let it pass by. Her: ok Me: Having said that, I now know better what you like and what you don't. Her: I like independence in actions.I need u to be less emotional Me: What do you mean by independence in actions? Her: Meaning u find solution to sitiations vs dweling on things Me: So, I'll be a stone without emotion. Her: Then be less emotional Me: And not express my feelings. Me: And give you personal space. Her: U can express them w one paragraph vs two pages of letters Me: Out of character and I hate it but if that's what I need to do to be with you, then it's worth it. Me: Starting from now. So, good night. I got some work to do. |

Question: Is tacky to have wedding where you ask guests to leave party since not enough food? Posted: 14 Dec 2015 03:53 AM PST Basically everyone is required in the invitation to give a gift value of at least $150 per person, $200 per couple But what they aren't told is that rather than they can leave party whenever they want, they will be politely escorted out, based in order of weakest Friends must leave before meal is served , only closest friends stay till the end And if they don't leave, security and you call police and they face trespassing charges if they don't leave This will enable lower food cost and more gifts at the same time |

In my culture when a couple gets married there will be a traditional ceremony where the bride would be in a traditional vietnamese ao dai dress and the traditional ceremony takes place at home. After that you can either have a western wedding ceremony or you can jump ahead to the wedding reception. If you were to marry me, would you be willing to have a traditional vietnamese ceremony ? |
