I am 21 and she is 18, we are very close friends. She called me today crying and said her parents and her were fighting and that her parents said she's not smart enough to be at college and that her college sucks and she is a waste of their money and worthless and stupid. And that she'll never be able to have a relationship because she is too annoying. None of this is true. It seems to me that her parents are blaming her for their own marriage and life problems. So my question is how can I help her? When she called me today I kind of froze up, I didn't know what to say. I just said that none of it is her fault and that I'm here for her and can pick her up or talk to her all she needed. Is that all I can do? Any tips on how I can be the best possible friend for her?

I was skateboarding in control with my friend biking behind me. We were bothe in the bike lane when this guy in a Mercedes honks. I look back and he swerves right into me nearly running into my friend biking behind me, knocking me onto the hood of the car flying me into a ditch. The guy slowed down, then sped off. Another friend was waiting for us at the bottom and saw what happened. As the guy drove by my friend took a rock and threw it as hard as he could and the whole front window smashed in and the guy had to pull over and couldn't see out his window. I ended up being ok, but at the time my friend didn't know if I was seriously injured and the guy just drove off. So he decided to throw a big rock at the Mercedes asshole driver and hit the car dead on. Was that a bad decision on my friends part? The guy got his car smashed. I just left because I was hurt and wanted to go home.

I believe in friendship but I'm losing faith in genuine, long-term friendship. All the friends I've made over the years have been casual, see-you-at-school-but-that's-it type of friends, very much an 'out of sight, out of mind' basis. Any friends who I've gotten closer to (e.g. they've declared themselves my new bff), and made a real effort to be a great friend to, have always let me down (by being selfish and inconsiderate) or later proving to be backstabbing, two-faced, ingenuine mean girls. I try not to let it bother me, but I often ask myself if I'll always have to settle for casual friends who don't really care for me. It seems to be the only way to keep myself from getting hurt again and again. So my question is, is there such a friend who is (obviously not perfect), but they're actually genuine, loyal and love you unconditionally, not selectivity?

So there s a lot of details for this. I have a problem. Five months ago I transfered from a traditional public school to a small private high school where everyone has known each other since elementary school. While all the other new kids seemed to fit in right away I still can t find my place. All the girls seem to have this thing against me, like when I talk to them they kind of answer in one syllable words like "Yeah." and try to leave or talk with their friends. I tried hanging out with the guys and they were a lot easier to be around. They have a girl in their group too and she and I are pretty close. This is going on for about a month or two but I m never invited to anything and I m never a part of their group chats. Am I expecting too much? What should I do?

so I'm trying to get my mom to let me stay at a hotel overnight with my 2 friends over the weekend after we attend a concert. she's going to call my friend's mom tonight because she's the one setting everything up, but my friend wanted to make sure my mom doesn't "freak out" her mom by asking about drugs or alcohol. i don't think my mom would necessarily mention or ask anything like that, but I'm a little worried she might bring it up considering its one of her concerns. how can i ask my mom not to mention/ask about drugs or alcohol without sketching my mom out? i don't want her to get any more suspicious by me asking her not to ask about it, so how can i ask without making her suspicious?

Although it is painful to talk about, I will briefly share what happened, because it's important. My friend was attending a slumber party that I had invited her to, and a tickle fight broke out between us. During the horseplay, random contact was made with my kneecap triggering what doctors called a "reflex". I had the same questions myself. I mean.. how did a tickle fight at a slumber party lead to this tragedy? Ultimately, the medical examiner determined she died due to a combination of blunt force trauma and asphyxiation that were caused by reflective kicks and improper application of life-saving techniques. But her family doesn't accept it. They see only that their daughter was badly beaten raped, and murdered and they aren't considering the "science" behind it. There's a guy I know who started hanging out with my group of friends this past semester (early September), who was quiet but really friendly when got to know him a and talk with him. He always came to almost every activity we had, even if he was in the background at times. Then one day, he just stopped hanging out with us. And most of college friends after graduation seem to think about themselves like career and just meet up when there's nothing to do. my closest guy friend happens to be dating my closest girl friend. I have a really good relationship with both of them separately, I've known the girl longer but I hang out with the guy more now so it evens out. So i haven't done anything wrong and out of my blue my mom takes my phone away. Its been 2 MONTHS and she STILL hasn't given my phone back. I'm all lonely b/c the only way i could talk to my friends was using my phone to text them. They don't have any classes with me. I have a friend that I have been friends with since fourth grade. But I am also friends with many others, and I am part of a "squad" with 16 other girls, and we all know each other well. We do things together all the time, and I like to bring this other friend with me. All the other girls like her, but she is a little shy so she has problems finding things to talk about. She feels uncomfortable being with them, and have decided that she won't join us on New Years Eve (the other alternative is to stay home with her family all night). I am afraid that she won't go out with us anymore, and that means that she will never go out because she really doesn't have that many friends except from me and one more that is also a part of that group. My names Emily I'm 16. I'm have really bad social anxiety. I have a really hard time dating guys and making friends, and keeping friends. That makes me depressed, and it's ruining my life. I'm failing all of my classes because I think everything's pointless and nothing will get better. Everyone thinks I'm annoying and nobody invites me, or hangs out with me. My only best friends never asks me to hangout because she's always with her boyfriend and I always have to make the plans. There s a person on my swim team that people talk badly about her for being a tryhard all the time even though out of the pool she s the nicest person I ve ever met. Almost everyone on the team dislikes her outside a small group of her friends that are just as nice. Long story short, I'm going out dressed as a girl to a bar (it's a safe one for this sort of thing) based on a bit of a dare from a friend about not getting what it's like for a girl to go out for a night. I have no issue playing along but I agreed to do my best to be "convincing". So I need some advice on what to wear and where to buy stuff. My sisters friend is always over and she always ends up sitting on me and I can't be heard under her. Mind you her butt is so big it covers almost my entire body! And her pants are always down! Then no one can find me and I'm stuck under her butt and when she gets up I'm stuck in her buttcrack while she's walking around! What do I do?

I don't have many friends who I could go with, but I want to meet new people. How would you start a conversation with strangers?

We have a group assignment that's due the day we come back from winter break. We're supposed to make a short film in French (for French class). I've been trying to contact them for forever but no one has responded to my texts or emails. I've already written a script, but before I continue with the filming and take all the credit, should I wait and give them a chance? Some of my friends are in the group so I don't want to offend them by abandoning them. However, I also don't want to risk handing this in late since it is a major project. What should I do?

My friend purposely ignores me:(? So I've been friends with her for about 4 years now,and no matter what she won't answer my texts and yesterday I just found out by one of my other good friends that she says she ignores by texts on purpose and laughs about it, she just acts all goody and friendly in person most likely cuz she's told to, so how can show herwhen I see her in person (which I do all the time but we never talk about how she doesn't text me ) Idgaf about her, which I don't anymore, she always had a bitc*y attitude anyways..

I'm in my mid 20's and I messaged girl from HS just for fun, She messaged back , i messaged back, then no response and its says "seen ___" so she saw my message. Shortly after this her friend shot me a friend request on facebook. Does anybody know what that means or if it just means nothing? Why did her friend friend request me? Im assuming the girl i messaged doesnt care to chat since she never responded but it doesnt explain why I got friend requested.

I made one a few days ago and I realized it's done nothing but make me stressed about followers, upset me when someone unfollows, and I constantly have been thinking about it. I feel like if I delete it now, I'm gonna regret it.
