So I ve been talking to this guy on and off for almost a year now and he s been giving me a hard time. He has issues opening up and trusting women. He will go from hot to cold and recently he called me drunk confessing that he likes me a lot. Once sober he confirmed it and I gave him an ultimatum to either date me or just be friends and much to my surprise he said "let s date". Of course I have my guard up. I want to know how can I casually date him without getting too attached? I need to see he s serious before I go any further.

Ok so this guy I was talking to pretty seriously for about 2 months just decided to tell me the other day that he still needed to get over his ex that had cheated on him. We were supposed to hangout the day it all happened and then he said "we need to talk" and that's when it all started. He said what made him realize he needed space with me was the one day that I stayed the night at his house. He said I was the first person to since his ex. And he said he was uncomfortable with me staying but he was the one who wanted me to which doesn't make sense to me. I'm really sad about it because he said he wants space and he said we will see how things go in the future and saying he needs to work on himself right now and stuff like that. And said he wasn't ready for a relationship yet. And he also told me I wasn't a rebound or anything. So I'm wondering if there's anything I can do because we talked every single day all day and now it's just all taken away ): I already miss him a lot ): I even met his family and he met mine ): do you think I should give him his space for now and try in text him in like a month or something??
