If you're always the one making an initiative for conversation and everyone is just vague in response and consistently tells you that they are busy; should you just give up? If I don't write people, I never hear from them again. Sorta get the impression I am not wanted. If that is the case I don't want to continue bothering anyone anymore. Part of me doesn't want to believe that it could be true, I guess hence why I am asking the question here, for a second perspective.

My best friend s birthday (we are teens) has come and I got her a cute $25 necklace. Plus shipping and handling which was $5. In total it cost me $30. Was this too much money? My mom said it was… but I used gift cards that I have had for a long time that I most likely will not use. Did I spend too much money on my friend s gift? Or is it just my mom?

I have this friend who always insists that she's not flirting even when it's clear that she is. She says that she "always acts that way to everyone" and "doesn't know any other way to act". Every guy you would ask though, would say that she was flirting and that they would totally date her. Of course, she says that "no guy thinks she's hot and no one wants to date her". This topic of the power of friendship has been pestering me for a while. I feel believing in that ridiculous folly that is called friendship won't make you become successful. Anyone who believes in the power of friendship is an absolute ignorant sheep! The main reason why I do met believe in friendship because I had bad experience with people growing up. I used to want friends, but now now I realized why I prefer to be alone. Friends make your eyes roll, bring you down, and interfere with your goals. There's a boy in my history class who will pick on me. He used to pick on my art skills but then he started calling me a dog because I wore a choker and wallet chain to school one day. The whole school held an assembally with all students, explaining to each student about what the child did, who they were, and who they did it to? Or would the child be more likely to repeatedly bully if the school held an assembably mentioning that this student was bullied and explained why the bullying was so bad for everyone without one mention of the student who did the bullying? Or would the child be most likely to continue his bullying in secret with no one knowing but the student and the student's friends? Basically: Would this student want the attention of the whole school? Would this student want to receive little acknowledgment of their crimes except that what they did was wrong? I'm a black female in my late 20's ever since I was a little kid I've struggled with making friends. The earliest childhood memory I have of me is me crying on the playground at my school because no one wanted to play with me or be my friend. My roommate moved into my place-fully set up w furniture, appliances, a deposit I paid. My boyfriend started basically living at my place even though he has his own he pays for. I asked my roommate MANY times if it was ok that he stays over and she said yes. She even made him his own key herself. She never buys common things we all use like TP & soap, or cleans common areas/ takes out the trash. I let it slide bc of my boyfriend staying over but she gets very angry when I ask her to clean anything. She also refuses to buy communal things and uses stuff I buy. I find that my hold intire life I've been bullied. Anyway I am 20+ now and I work for kfc. Just about every time, I go to work. As soon as I walk into the building all my teammates are like laughing about something. I don't know why they are laughing. I'm meant to be there working, I have my roaster right. Umm it doesn't make sense. Then there is this, at kfc we are apparently all meant to be a family, and all meant to be friends. So how come this happens. Here I am talking, I get told too shut up. Has anyone else ever felt old at 21? Lately I can't help but feel like my prime age of having fun with friends is over. Now I can't help but feel guilty when I just want to four out with friends and have fun and be goofy. I am a responsible person (I work and go to school) so maybe this is why I feel guilty when I go out but I can't shake he feeling that I'm getting old and shouldn't be doing this stuff anymore. I want to be the best at something, but everything I am good at there are tons of people who are way super better than me. I've practiced a select few things that I'm really good at for 10+ years, but still there are tons (hundreds of thousands) of people who are way super incredibly better than me. I want to be the best at something, ANYTHING! Is it just natural selection? Should I just give up and be mediocre at everything and live with my mediocre salary and my middle class life? I always try my best to be nice to people and not judge them for what they do, even to people that are very mean people. But it seems like EVERYONE just pretends to be nice back and then they go around talking **** and making up lies. I can't take it anymore, what's the point of trying to be nice and friendly if all these people are just going to be mean and make me feel bad?

I love to criticize the world around me, the views that people hold, the way people do things etc. But, I have trouble making friends... So today me and my best friend maya were talking about what we had on Thanksgiving and she said she had ice cream, My friend let's call her Allie came over here and told her she better not ate the ice cream from other ice cream shops becuase her family owns an ice cream shop so she gets crazy when we eat from other ice cream shops. So I told her that ice cream shop is good because it uses all peanut free equipments so Jasmine can eat ice cream. She just said "Oh that's fine you are just a hater! I'm fine with it!" I have three friends who are constantly making fun of me, which I wouldn t usually have a problem with but they never have anything bad to say about eachother. If I ever try to say something back, even if it s clever, they shut me down in an instant. I am a 19 year old guy and while I've never lived out of country, I've moved around a lot. I ended up having attended 6 high schools by the time I graduated as well as more elementary schools than I can remember and 3 middle schools. As a result, I have become a rather introverted and lonely person. Please read the story to understand the situation: I have a teacher, a professor who taught me while I was at the faculty. He was also running the theatre club. So he got closer with us from the group and it even came to the point where we could literally discuss anything since he is also young and non-conventional. I drank with him, talked, had fun... So, he would call me a friend and behave like a friend, but whenever I would reproach him for something (like friends do), he would distance himself and say Well, I am your professor, you can't talk to me like that. Then I sent him an e-mail and told him that I don't want him to add people when I am the one who invites. He replied telling me that I am being asocial and I am talking behind their backs. He ended the mail telling me that he does not want to hear any more discussions about one of these two girls. He asked me whether I really expect him to exclude people that I don't like. I replied very harshly since I felt insulted. I told him that I don't want him to exclude people but that I want him NOT TO include people when I am the one who calls and invites for a drink. I also mentioned him one person that he does not like and said: If I called her when you invite us, how would you feel? He never replied. Lately I found out that he was gravely insulted and that he was shaken for days because of this, that he even called one person from our group who is now in France to tell her how hurt he was by my actions. I found out that he is so mad that he would not talk to me until I apologize. I do want to have a normal relationship with him but I don't want to apologize by any chance. Whenever we had a conflict I was always the one who apologized because I valued the friendship more than my pride. But this time, I know I am right. I would never call someone without asking the original caller is it ok or not. He doesn't care about my feelings and my preferences. And I don't understand why he is so hurt and insulted?? I am planning on calling him for a coffee to talk, but I don't know how it will go since I don't plan on apologizing. PLEASE give me your opininon, and tell me who is guilty, should I apologize? And WHY is he acting like this??

4 years ago I lived with my whole family and I had to be outgoing and not afraid to say anything due to how large my family was. I later moved with my mom only to another state and because she was never around and nobody was home hanging out in my room became a habit for 2 years. I am now a sophomore and because I was always by myself I can't communicate with people. I can't talk to my family, can't make friends without being too loud or not being myself. I'm not outgoing and I always stay in my room. My family are mad at me because I don't talk to them. I been feeling depressed and stressed these past few years too. I just want to communicate again with my family and people. I transferred to another school to so I don't have any friends nor I can make friends. I need help because the more I can't do these things the more my depression starts kicking in. I feel lost and I feel like if I disappeared people would be happy I'm gone what should I do?

So I am a freshman in college and this is my first semester! I have moved 4 hours away from my home and all my family and my best friends! Through my first week at college I made a friend! We were instantly close! It s weird how fast we became friends. It was within 2 hours that we became best friends! Is that even possible? Well as the semester went on we grew closer and closer we are now at the end of the semester and she tells me she is moving to go to college closer to home! When ever she told me this I got upset and didn t want her to go! I had finally expected the fact that she was moving! At least I had another semester with her! I mean she is my best friend! Anyway she is pulling away and it is breaking my heart! She says she doesn t want to be close anymore because it will hurt her and me when she finally has to go! But I don t want that! I still want to be close with her! I don t know what to do and it s breaking my heart that she doesn t want that anymore! She said she still wants to be friends just not close! Please help me!

Let's say, for example, a good friend of yours calls you up. You can tell my her tone of voice that she is nervous. And then she apologizes about something she said earlier that day to you. But what she said earlier didn't offend or hurt you at all. In fact you thought nothing of it. You can tell though, that your friend feels really guilty about it. How would you feel about that? (I am that friend and now I feel stupid and over dramatic for apologizing.)

So I'm in 8th grade and there's this girl... No one likes her. I'm not exaggerating. Literally EVERYONE hates her. She is SO ANNOYING. so yeah of course me and my friends take her in out a pity. So I'm 14 and in high school, Every Friday I see my friends And go somewhere ( cinema restaurant park or anything ) But tomorrow ( Friday ) , my friends and I were invited to our friend's birthday party but it's in another city it's really far My friends are all going because they're dad is taking them but my parents are divorced and I live with my mom and she works so she won't be able to take me I don't feel like sitting home doing nothing :( Do you have any fun ideas to do on Friday ? it's cold , And I want fun ideas to do Alone because I would probably be alone

I got a job through an acquaintance I knew through highschool. I enjoy the job but my friend s Mom happens to be our manager. I have noticed this girl will call me relentlessly everyday at 9 or 10am. At first I answered because I thought it was work related but I realized it was just her wanting to talk about random non work related things. Now that I have stopped answering she tries to get me to answer by texting me "it s important" or making it sound work related. I am on the verge of quitting because how annoying this has been getting. It has been 1 year of everyday calling. What should I do?

I was in the school halls today, and while I was trying to talk to my really good friend, my best friend hit me. She Charlie horsed me multiple times, and I Charlie horsed her back. It wasn't hard, but she fell to the ground crying. She was laughing at the same time though. I said sorry so many times but she ignored me. I also tried texting her and explain why I Charlie horsed her (because she did it first while I was trying to talk to someone) but she hasn't seen it yet. I'm really scared of what she will do. She is really powerful with her words and what she says. Sorry for how long this is!

My friends are going to a theme park today for a couple of days. I can't go because I have actual responsibilities like class work and finals I have to get done. I also cannot miss class. It's just not worth it with my gpa and academic status. Do you think they'll be texting me and bragging to me about how much fun they are having? I have a feeling one of them will. She's just like that.... What should I do? I am also a bit sick (one of my friends little sister got me sick -_-)
