Posted: 16 Nov 2019 05:40 PM PST I'm asking this question because, unfortuneately, i'm no longer friends with anyone from my childhood, the friendships just fizzled out, or we drifted apart, grew apart from each other. All of my current friends, are people I met after High School. I guess you could say i'm desperate for validation in the sense that i'm not alone in this situation, in which who else has gone their separate ways with their childhood friends. |
Question: Is she mad at me? I'm supposed to spend Christmas with her? ? Posted: 16 Nov 2019 05:34 PM PST About two weeks ago, I had a three hour conversation with someone I think of a mentor/older sister. I was having an anxiety attack and she consoled me and allowed me to talk for 2+ hours. I'm an international student and she invited me to spend Christmas with her and her family. She has previously stated that we don't have a reciprocal relationship and therefore she doesn't count it as a deduction when I come to her for things. But over the summer she said I was her friend. I've sent her four messages over the course of two weeks, one of which was "Have I agitated you in some way?" No response. Yesterday, she responded to my Instagram story at the gym and she said "look who's working out." I asked her if she was mad again and she asked "Why would i be mad? And mad about what?" I then gave a dissertation about how I feared I was being clingy and that I did something wrong. She read it but hasn't responded. I also posted a heart eye emoji under one of her recent pics and she liked all the comments besides mine. What should I do? |
Question: Do you consider this fake? ? Posted: 16 Nov 2019 03:45 PM PST Your friend is nice and sweet to you if it involves your other friends. If it involves your love interest, they are mean, they create drama and fighting with you and wanted to make you mad so you wouldn't talk to them anymore. |

Question: Do the people who didn't like AHS 1984 get this? Posted: 16 Nov 2019 02:18 PM PST Horror movies from the '80's were often imperfect and ridiculous and cheesey and lots of fun. I would say the same thing about AHS 84. Not everyone has to like every season, and that's ok. I personally didn't care for seasons 3 and 7, but I get some people loved them so it's not like I felt the need to go on social media and point out imperfections with them. |
Question: What should I do when my friend self harms in front of me? Posted: 16 Nov 2019 01:55 PM PST When my friend is feeling anxious and low she gets quiet and starts digging her nails into the skin around her thumbs and picking it. What should I do it this situation? Should I just hold her hands to stop her from being able to do it? Any ideas? |
Posted: 16 Nov 2019 12:38 PM PST I'm looking back on that time we had dinner and wondering. I have never done stuff like this but he is someone I would like as a close friend. It's gotten complicated because now he is married and has an important job in a big office. |
Question: Which is the lesser of two evils? Posted: 16 Nov 2019 12:33 PM PST So I just moved a few states from where I was previously living, and I'm living with someone who is really smart with cameras and cinematography. He's done so much to help my career and I'm grateful, but he doesn't treat me very well and is such a creep I want to puke, and I want to leave. However, the only option I have is to go back to where I came from, and that's with people who were trying to drive me to suicide and making me feel like a prisoner in my own home, gossiping and spreading rumors about me. Obviously neither of these situations are good but I just feel stuck and don't know what I should do. |
Question: Is this coincidence or not? Posted: 16 Nov 2019 12:25 PM PST Just say myself and this guy go to the gym the same time. we know each other years. He knows im always in a certain café on a Friday at 5pm. So we see each other in the gym, then im out walking in a park miles and miles away from my home and we see each other there and smile and exchange a joke. Then on Friday he walks past me in the café and we look at each other and he nods at me. |

Question: How to i tell my ex to go away? Posted: 16 Nov 2019 11:57 AM PST it was a terrible, awkward relationship that lasted a month. we had nothing in common and I only did it because my friends told me to. we broke up over text and didn't talk for ages, it was easy considering we had completely different groups of friends. But now, just recently, she has started hanging out with my friends and i have no idea why. we cant even look each other in the eye so I don't know what compelled her to join my group. its awful because she is starting to be great friends with all of mine, having plenty of similar interests (even my best friend completely loves her now) and a significant lack of contact between us has lead to me being extremely excluded from conversations. doesn't she know i'm being isolated because of her? it makes me feel like the whole thing was my fault. I never want to be that ***-hole that tells people who they can hang out with so I haven't said a word, but still I have no idea why she meets us at lunch now because she has a perfectly fine group of friends who love her. its just a bit weird. I'm absolutely sure she knows this is making us both uncomfortable. I have nothing against her, she was really quite nice. I just have no idea why shes stared doing this especially considering I have a big presence in my group of friends and have a big personality. Surely doesn't she feel uncomfortable too? And i don't think she is trying to make friends. she hasn't spoken a word to me. what do i do???? |
Question: Why will no one help me ? ? Posted: 16 Nov 2019 10:26 AM PST Anymore, I feel let down by my family , friends, teachers , and community. That our society that adults with 170+ I.Q.'s can't own transportation or a house? Or run a business and even have a mild case of Autism and ADHD or ADD, etc., people make you a social and fiscal cripple for the new tax laws, but no one will help me or be my friend. In short, it makes me despise ohio & my hometown. |
Question: If Marilyn Manson and I were roommates, what would we do together? Posted: 16 Nov 2019 09:18 AM PST I think we'd have lots of fun together. Crazzy would also be a part of our family as well. |
Question: Hey help is this a fake friend or true friend ? Posted: 16 Nov 2019 08:43 AM PST When you follow her Instagram but She never follow you back but only when take photos with you then she will what does this mean? |
Posted: 16 Nov 2019 08:40 AM PST My good friend and I talk weekly. She has a friend who stole from me in the past and is basically dishonest and lies. I stopped talking to her due to this but would this be a red flag knowing she talks to the narcissist and chooses to want to associate herself with her? |

Question: Why does he only do this to me? Posted: 16 Nov 2019 04:59 AM PST My friend only steals my shoes, at first I thought he was doing it to everyone one else in his grade but then he told me that he only steals mine. Why though? |
Question: Why does my friend "watch" my eating habits? Posted: 16 Nov 2019 02:29 AM PST He literally knows how many bites I take at lunch. |
Posted: 16 Nov 2019 02:28 AM PST He said, "I know its a bit weird but I watched you during lunch, how can you be full after only 2 bites? And why do you chew them for so long?" And, It's the same person from my last question. |
Question: What do you think of this friendship? Posted: 15 Nov 2019 09:31 PM PST I'm a 21 year old man. Over the summer I became friends with a 48 year old woman. I work the register at a grocery store and I have cashiered her order since I was 18. What happened was I saw her on social media on a friends page and I added her. She thought it was cool we had a friend in common. We started to message everyday. She messages me all the time. Things got dark when she revealed to me the guy she usually comes into the store with is her very very abusive boyfriend who beats her. She started to tell me things like that I am her best friend. It feels ... overwhelming. We have met for coffee also. Turns out she actually has a major romantic crush on me. And she thinks I'm hot. I'm mixed on the situation because I do like this woman as my friend, but I feel like I'm carrying a cross for her a lot and she is also a drug user which makes me feel... unsafe. What do you think about our very unique friendship? People probably think she's my mother when we hang out. Lol. |
Question: I need help with this ? Posted: 15 Nov 2019 08:38 PM PST Would you think your friend is too clingy if they don't want to go months without talking to you? |
Question: Should I get my daughter a phone ? Posted: 15 Nov 2019 08:17 PM PST My daughter is going to 6th grade and I am wondering if I should buy her a device. Since kindergarten I have notices that all her friends have had iPads and were playing on them and since 3rd grade, phones. Let me be honest, I wasn't planning on getting her a phone until high school, but she's responsible and she always says that everyone has phones in her class. I won't buy her an iPad, I honestly don't understand why people get them. Should I get her a phone? noticed* |
Question: I need help with this ? Posted: 15 Nov 2019 08:15 PM PST I had my friend over at my house on Wednesday and she said that I was still her Ashten. What did she mean by that? and yes my name is Ashten and she is much older then me. She has a husband and 2 adult kids |
Question: My college friends think there needs to be a "mom" at every party and it makes it bad.? Posted: 15 Nov 2019 08:08 PM PST So my roommate is not a big partier but occasionally she goes ham which is fine. I go out almost every weekend with a group of friends and it's a good time. But recently she has decided to "mom" at parties. So for instance a few weeks ago she said she was coming out with us and then when we got there decided to stay sober and watch over us which entailed her following us around just standing there and barely letting me drink. She tried to "cut me off" at one point and I remember this because I was just a little tipsy not drunk at all. Keep in mind she goes all out sometimes and I've seen her drink way more than I had at that moment. So today we are supposed to go out and she asked if I could be mom at the party. I feel like that's such a juvenile thing to do and said there doesn't have to be a fricken mom and she was like well me and our mutual friend have been mom and its your (my) turn. I never asked for that and it TOTALLY ruins the vibe and I don't even want to go out with them if that's what they're going to do but our friend groups all go out together so I don't know how to express to them that if that's what they're going to do I do not want anything to do with that. The problem is she is my roommate so I have to live with her and don't want to make things super awkward but I just want to have a good time and have always been fine without a "mom" there. HELP! |
Posted: 15 Nov 2019 07:59 PM PST I feel so awkward. I've been so shy and quiet for many years and haven't spoken so much so that others have pointed it out over the years. One teacher even referred me to the school counselor. Anyway, just thinking about it as I'm supposed to return to class after the weekend and sit in that class for hours while people dont talk to me for whatever reason and i dont talk to them because i have trouble doing that. In another, oddly enough, people have been really talkative towards me at times. I'm so not used to it but appreciate it... |
