Question: How much should I spend on an engagement ring? Posted: 03 May 2017 09:14 PM PDT I'm a young adult who is looking to make my girlfriend my fiancé, but I'm also about to have my own apartment. That being said how much should I roughly spend on my engagement ring? |
Question: Weddings Ceremonies? Posted: 03 May 2017 07:55 PM PDT Okay, I'm not asking for judgement. I'm not a fool for getting married a year after I finish school. However you still wanna judge me, fine. Go ahead and judge. Doesn't change the fact that it's now a year away and not a lot happened. Anyway, let's move on to my question. I want to know about the unity candle, giving of a rose, release of doves, release of butterflies, bubbles, etc. I mean these are all the "primary options" but still. Are these part of the catholic religion...? Or just options the bride and groom choose to do before the kiss? I love the release of the butterflies idea. The doves I'm not so sure about. I like the bubbles too. I also like the giving of a rose. That's nice too. Anywho, my question is: Are these things optional to do or do I have to do them? My wedding is going to be outside and my fiancé and I plan to have a justice of the peace marry us but we (I mostly want it but my fiancé is okay with it because he likes the idea of the outside wedding in the summer.) wanted catholic-type feel to it. My fiancé doesn't mind because some of his family memebers are catholic and some are Quaker. We prefer to have someone marry us because that was our compromise. I might've gone too far with the details. But I truly am curious. I love the idea of a butterfly release. That'll be perfect since there will be little kids there. :) Thank you for the help! Bye. |

Question: How much to give as a wedding gift? Posted: 03 May 2017 05:22 PM PDT My friend is getting married and is a destination wedding. So flight, hotel, car rental etc. I also got personalized toasting glasses that were around 45. I was thinking like 100? I am going on my own. No plus 1. Thoughts ideas? It's not a fancy venue it's a nice outside venue and a lot of handmade things to personalize the wedding. Thanks in advance!!!! |

Question: Is getting married on Easter weekend really that bad of an idea? Posted: 03 May 2017 12:12 PM PDT We're looking at April 4, 2015, which is the day before Easter next year. We had picked the date out because it works great for us, but then we realized that Easter is the next day. Most of our family are not religious, but some might go to church that Sunday. There's only 3 people coming from out of state. Our venue isn't any more expensive that weekend than others... I don't know, is it really that bad? Or would you suggest just sucking it up and picking a different day? |
Question: Can anyone help me on my maid of honor speech? Posted: 03 May 2017 12:11 PM PDT I'm having trouble writing my maid of honor speech. I'm wanting to read a sweet poem but I'm not sure what poem and how to end the speech and start the speech. If anyone has any ideas on a sweet poem please let me know. |
Question: Are you expected to give a wedding gift if you're traveling far for a destination wedding? Posted: 03 May 2017 08:21 AM PDT My boyfriend and I are spending about $2,500 to attend a wedding in Cancun. We are staying a week and making a vacation out of it. Are we still supposed to give the bride and groom a gift/check? It's held at an all inclusive resort so it's not like they are spending a fortune on the reception, the food and drink is already included in our cost. |
Question: Getting married...can I have a judge and not a priest? Posted: 03 May 2017 07:45 AM PDT Me and my fiance are not religious so we want to get married by a judge and not a priest. Can they do this? Like judges I mean, can they marry people? We are also getting married in January in a winter garden (flowers inside a room with frozen glass on the outside - so pretty) so I think a judge, or even a justice of the peace, would fit better. |
Question: Which finger is the engagement finger in UK and is there a difference in Hong Kong? Posted: 03 May 2017 07:26 AM PDT My friend has recently got engaged and is so confused as to which finger she is supposed to wear the ring on. She is British but her fiance is Chinese so there maybe a difference in culture. Is it the ring finger or middle finger of your left hand? or is it the ring finger of your right hand? I always thought it was on the same finger as your wedding band but there's too much difference of opinion online, so i'm truly confused! Plus, I heard that each finger represents the different processes of the relationship; courting (thumb), dating (index), engaged (middle) and marriage (ring). So which one is correct? Thanks in advance! |

Question: Should I use Miss or Ms ? Posted: 03 May 2017 12:39 AM PDT I have to return a bridal shower invitation, on the line it has a capital M with a blank. I'm unsure whether I should use Miss or Ms, I am 21 years old. I am not engaged but I do have a boyfriend of 4 years. REGARDLESS. PLEASE HELPPP! |
Question: Can I wear my engagement ring on a different finger to my ring finger? Posted: 02 May 2017 11:59 PM PDT I'm getting my engagement ring fitted but I don't know what finger to wear it on. My engagement ring is really big and there wouldn't be room for a wedding ring on the same finger. If I get it resized for my ring finger on my left hand it will be too small for any other finger, so I wouldn't be able to wear it when I get the wedding ring. I was reading that in some European countries they ware the ring on the right hand middle finger or the one next to the little finger. The ring being so big, looks really good on the index finger on the right hand so I was thinking of getting it resized for this finger. |
