I want to go to camp rim rock next summer. I am 12 years old. I want to go for either 4 or 8 weeks but am willing to compromise. My parents can definitely afford the camp but they think I will die or get raped. How can I show them that this is a great camp? It is accredited and girls only. There is a 1:3 counselor to camper ratio. All the staff are female too. My parents never went to camp as kids so they don't understand that it will be amazing for me I NEED HALP BECUZ THIS IS THE OPPORTUNITY OF A LIFETIME!!! thanks for your answers🙂

My grand mother will get mad at me when I order food at school when we have a meal ticket and then if I'm hungry when we get home and I eat something, she says that I'm going to eat the whole house, even if it's just a pack of crackers. Whenever she does this, I feel guilty and want to make myself throw up but I just can't do it. Like I go by the toilet and all and try to but nothing comes out. Why do I feel like this? Please don't put any rude comments.

My sister (22) is dating a guy (32), he looks 14 at best, bummy, college drop out (w a go fund me to pay off 1,500 college debt). When my parents first met him he took a shower in our house and did his laundry before they got home. He now keeps a bottle of laundry detergent in our house. Recently he moved to a house share in our town to be closer to us. His rent is 500 and the food is free but he isn't allowed guests he told us. He works as a waiter part-time despite studying advanced Spanish and formerly pursuing a degree in education. My sister doesn't have her license yet, so he drives her car around. So much so, he asked my dad to put him on his insurance! My parents immigrated from latin america. Even with my sister and I's help we sometimes struggle to pay the bills. So this is no drop in the bucket. My dad drives for uber, his work DEPENDS on his insurance. He can't afford for his rates to go up. This guy had the nerve to call him pop before asking for a free pass. He refused to pay the insurance my dad asked him to pay for being a liability $140. To be further disrespectful, guy had a e cig in his mouth, and put around 30 dollars and coins! in front of my dad on the table before leaving to drive with my sister. He has the audacity to have loud sex in our home we all share, so I had to eventually talk to my SISTER about how inappropriate/disrespectful that was....we share a wall..and my parents were home! I worried this guy is some kind of grifter...what can I do? I'm concerned he's conning whom he lives with the situation sounds strange for a 30yr old. I don't think my sister has ever been inside. The last place he lived he said was a home he and other guys helped re-do and in turn lived rent free? With the water not working constantly? And this guy is short and not very strong looking...and lazy. Sister met him on tinder. So it's been hard to trace his past. My sister lied about his age at first, but I know its between 28-32 he could pass for under 18

I am a college student who recently came home for the summer. I don t party ,do drugs,or gotten in any trouble. one thing I ve noticed is that my dad has gotten stricter with me , which is driving me crazy. He hardly ever lets me go out with my boyfriend, and when I do he manages to always track down my location from my phone. I can only go out with certain friends, when I tell him about giving me more freedom he gets mad and tells me he s giving me plenty and he prefers me staying at home instead of going out where it s dangerous. I m 19. I just want more freedom but he doesn t reason with me.

I room with my brother who is 23, and I'm 22. Neither of us are working right now. He quit his job and skipped town for like 2 weeks and came back out of the blue, I was laid off. I was completely blindsided, I lost my job due to no fault of my own along with 7 other people, and I'm in the process of collecting unemployment. I've only been out of work for 1.5 weeks btw, my brother on the other hand has not been working for a good month. He's going through financial problems obviously, and he goes into my foods and it's gotten to the point where I've been hiding my food from him. I don't have a job either right now! You quit your job, you didn't have to do that, and it's not my fault you didn't save your money while you were working. On top of that he doesn't clean, he doesn't do anything! He's in the house 24/7, eating my food, and making messes. is it selfish of me to not share my food with him? It's not like he can't get off his *** and work.

My mother is 60 years old and I live with her to keep an eye on her. She has several medical problems (COPD, Depression, and an unknown problem at the moment where they found spots on her lungs in am xray). I run every little errand for her, attend college, work at home as self employed, my fiance lives with us to help and buys food, pays rent, etc. I buy household items, buy my mother stuff (razors, socks, basic care essentials, etc.). My fiance works at a grocery store part time and is going back to college. The problem with my mother is that she has constant mood swings, demands restaurant food (even though we are by no means rich, and wastes her widower pension (rent and pay places, her new boyfriend, etc.) My fiance had to pay the last electric bill as she didn't have the money when she draws close to $1,000 a month. She is very irresponsible and acts like a child sometimes. She will pay the car payment, car insurance, and lot rent but that's all! She only keeps the car to run her boyfriend all around town and buy him things. We help out all we can and I feel like she is not doing her part. She doesn't work but won't let me use the car to go to college or get a regular job, even if I offer to put in gas and such.Do a lot of elderly act like this?

I have a cousin that whenever I see her at family functions (rarely) she is inappropriately touchy outside of hugging hi/good bye. This happens EVERY TIME we first greet each other. Unless she is dressed down compared to me or drunk (we only see each other during holidays/parties) She will make a compliment about my clothing, look me up and down, I've caught her expecting for labels a few times... she'll say nice shirt, I like your jacket jacket, what have you.. and proceed to touch my clothes in a weird way. She has zipped/unzipped my clothing, tugged at it, reached to grab it before I had to yank my sleeve away to avoid her the last time it happened. To me it feels fake, and in no way starts a conversation with me. It's just irritating because we are adults. I sometimes catch her staring at me hard up and down. She dresses her own loud way, wears more labels than I ever do, and spends more than me for SURE. I'm pretty plain in comparison. So I don't think it's envy. It feels nosy and mean like she's comparing us. So glad I rarely see her, but I need advice on how to dodge this and not come off mean. What can I do to tell her/show her this makes me uncomfortable? I might have come off mean last time I tried to dodge her. She never invites me to events with our other cousins even my own sister gets invites. Last time she texted me "omg wish you were heree" when she never invited me. And sent a pic of a dead rat to get my attention when I didn't text back to stroke her ego.

So i share a 2 bedroom apartment with my daughter [23] and boyfriend. This past weekend his daughter who's 10 came over to spend the weekend. She sleeps on the couch when she does come over. My bf came in with his daughter just as i had turned on the living room tv and prepared to cook, as i can see the tv from the kitchen. He & his daughter walked past me and straight into our bedroom where they watched a movie & horsed around. They eventually join me in the living room several hours later to watch tv. The next night we set up the Xbox in the living room and we played. My daughter works out of town Thursday to Sunday weekly. So she came home and no one was there. So she texted me and said she wanted to watch her tv shows in the living room but didn't want to touch the xbox so she began watching her show on the laptop in the living room. My bf feels like i should have asked my daughter to go into her room to her show & relinquish the tv back to his daughter. I disagreed and said we hadn't been home for several hours and she could watch tv in the living room and his daughter could watch our tv in the bedroom as she did on Friday with him. He completely flew off the handle and left the apt with her. He was saying it was rude, inconsiderable for me not to ask my daughter to watch her show in her room. He thinks he's right. I know I'm right. I want sone input plz.

This is just ine example..today me n my kids were supposed to go with my kids grandfather andbcousins to a waterpark. We ended up not going with them because today is my daughters firat day of summer day camp and i wanted her to meet. All the kids insteadbof being there on the 2nd day unlikeeveryone else. I know this is stupid vit i kept thinking about it all weekend and called him last night to tell him. Now im upset thinking aboit it all day like what if they never ask us to do anything again. I think the main thing that bugs me is my kids grandparents (as well as father) dont have much to do with them so ask8ng this was big to me. They get their other grandkids a few times a week and see mine a few a year! Why do i dwell on this and other things though?

Ok so I just recently moved back home because I wrecked my car, then life just started happening sooo I decided I wanted to move and try to a new career job, which starts next month. I've been home for about 2-3 months and I've had like cashier jobs but I quit them since I'll be starting my career job in mid June and I've had to travel to the new job site to do all the paperwork and different test and such. Since I have no job my parents expect me to clean the entire house. My siblings who are 18, 12, and 9 years old do nothing but clean their rooms but I guess they're just trying to teach them to not mess up like me or they'll be maids. But I also have a 28 year old sister who has my 6 yr old niece they live here too but still they don't clean but my sister is a teacher. My parents not only expect me to clean up after everyone now they want me to clean their room and bathroom ,which I think is ridiculous. Is my attitude warranted or should I just suck it up. Keep in mind before I moved here the house we always filthy. Also in addition to cleaning my mother has me doing my little siblings hair and getting them dressed for school most mornings. I feel used and I almost resent them. Am I wrong??

I prefer relatives. Easier. After a certain age, I don't want to deal with a man and his nagging and other issues. Cousins and siblings make life easier. Ne[phews and nieces are good to live with too.

I say relatives. If we're orphaned when young, our aunts, uncles, etc can take us in. Moreover, we're a social species, so we can't just rely on spouses for companionship. One person can't satisfy us all the time.

I am 18 years old and a few months ago me and my boyfriend bought a 3 bedroom house and of course we are only taking up 1 bedroom.. But anyways, 2 years ago when I was 16 I left my mom's house and moved in with my boyfriend and his grandparents, due to the fact that my mom is an alcoholic and abused pain killers. I felt my only way to be successful at life was to get away from it. Eventually my mom realized that she needed to straightened herself up and she did! but around a year ago my mom got with her boyfriend and moved in with him. I eventually found out that he lives with his mom and his sister and that they are ALL on pain killers and methadone. I've seen my mom overdose twice before and I was so scared that it was going to happen again and I wouldn't be there to save her so for the past year I have been living my life in fear of how much longer I will have my mom around. My mom has no income and her boyfriend has no income. He refuses to get a job and that leaves my mom to think she need to panhandle and steal. My mom looks like she has also aged 10 years just in the past year. A few days ago my mom came and stayed two nights at our house and I enjoyed every second of seeing my mom sober but the whole entire time her boyfriend was calling her accusing her of cheating and saying she was going to leave him. My mom deserves way better than the way he treats her and she is such an amazing person when she is clean and sober. Continued in update..... Me and my boyfriend talked it over and we think it would be a good idea for her to move in with us so she can get herself cleaned up and let us care for her in the mean-time but I know she is not going to want to leave her boyfriend. How can I go about talking to her?

Ever since I was a kid my mom always said saying "what" is disrespectful. If my mom calls me and I say "what" then she gets mad even though she says it to me but it's not just my mom it's a few other African- Americans too. My step dad is mean to me and yells at me all them time, my brother and me have to share a room, so he goes in and breaks my stuff and hurts me sometimes(uncommon). My step dad mentally abusive and called me worthless and useless a few times and other things more common. I spend most of my time in my room bored. My mom is a bit nicer, but doesn't listen to me when I tell her how i'm treated. My grandparents are the only ones that care about me but I only get to see them about once a week to two weeks. I have been having depression, and suicidal thoughts, but I would never kill myself. I have nothing to do but do chores, in which I HATE. If I had one wish, it would to live with my grandparents, but I know that will never happen, because my mom and step dad would never agree to that. I am 14, entering freshman year this fall. My mom takes care of my grandmother. My mom absolutely loves grandmother. Like I was in a public place and then there was this really tall guy with a lettuce haircut. He was fat, and ogling me. IDK how old he was but he was PHYSICALLY disgusting. I join my mom to go to the mall to buy some stuffs. I got a list of stuff to buy and I needed. Parents get really mad at me for playing video games and they say it s a waste of time. My dad even wants to kick me out of the house cause of it. I play video games for 6+ hours everyday. Ok so heres the story: a little over 5 years ago, my dad and i had a falling out and i hadnt talked to him or his side of the family for 3 years. I started talking to my half siblings again after 3 years (when they all turned 18) and my dad, stepmom and 2 uncles a year ago. Now one of my uncles is dying. His liver and kidneys are failing and the doctor gave him 2 weeks to live. Im not close to him and im not really affected by it. Am i heartless? Shes 15, and simply doesnt ever do what shes told. Things like, do the dishes. She would simply say no. Feed the dogs. She simply says no. Ect. She doesnt do much at all. She has no phone, doesnt have friends, doesnt have any hobby whatsoever, doesnt watch tv, doesnt play games, she has a drivers permit, but i cant take that away as i hate driving so much i sometimes pay her to drive when shes being good, and driving isnt her thing anyway, she just tolarates it, i cannot even imagine the pain i would have to go through doing all the driving, she pretty much just sits on my bed with me and talks about random things if shes not at school, so how can i get her to do things i tell her to do? I don t how to react to this!!! Ok my wife cousin let say Miley Miley is loud mouth ***** and on my wife side family doesn t like her because she made mother in law cry. So her sister Mary had a wedding and my wife not knowing that we re white is a no no. We re white. I thought my wife and her sister are close cause there work together. Take lunch and break together. I get long with her husband. So the following day we and her family got together and Miley was talking about my wife wearing white and Mary agree that that was wrong and so on , her husband family was disrespectful. They were talking quietly but I hear a little and my wife did too me and my wife were in the living room . If know they were talking about my wife I would of spoken up. Now what cuss them all out!!! If Mary had a dress code she should of said something, she know what she was going to were before hand.. Now I need advice on what to do?? Cuss them out or not? I feel disrespected.

Im13 my moms been on and off drugs. I ve never known while she does only after. I always end up finding out. But this time I m having trouble... She literally tried every drug so i don t know if her acting like this is her on our off of them. She Will get mad at me for no reason ill be sitting there and she says "what you got something to say?" It doesn t add up. She has hit me and actually chkked me before but i don t care. For some reason her words hurt more. Anyway can you guys tell me the symptoms of some drugs?

We lost our house a year ago my boyfriend and I signed a lease for a 2bd apartment cause my dad doesn't have a steady job bad credit and child support and my mom is stay at home with no work experience the lease is coming to an end and my boyfriend nor do I want to sign for them again nothing has changed since we lost the house he's still not working and my mom neither I don't know how to tell them they need to figure it out I'm scared they are going to hate me I love them but I don't think I'm obligated to support them can someone plz give me advice I'm frustrated angry afraid and confused why they're putting me in this position I'm only 20 years old I'm reliable and have a good job but I need to consider my future and keep my credit score good am I being betraying and selfish?? It has bn 8mons and I still have night terrors. Still hard for me to believe he ever loved me or that he actually abused me because he said he didn't. Only because he choked me, slapped me and punched me in the back of my head. Police never caught him because he left the country the same day. I feel so low, depressed and stupid. I tried getting back on social media and had a job for 2months but got let go. When I got back on social media I saw he msgd me saying he misses me and hopes I'm doing ok. I told him I was ok but never said I missed him back. He later blocked me and posted a meme towards me that was nasty then later deleted it. I'm 24 and have no idea what I'm doing with my life. I take pain pills to numb the pain. My mom has lupus and just had a stroke 2wks ago so I have bn taking care of her. I'm adopted as well so sometimes we argue and sit makes me feel worthless. My bio sisters don't talk to me unless they need someone to watch their kids. I want to kill myself.!!! I'm crying as I write this! I deleted my social sites again becuz I feel depressed. I have disappointed my parents after my abuse altho they try to help. I wanna go to college and live my life but idk how now. He really did a number on me. I have no friends anymore so no1 to talk to. Please someone help me

Okay so me and my sister are pretty close but there are times where we go through a phase of constant fighting (who doesn't I mean we're still teenagers) and for some reason this makes my dad really mad. But my dad is so rude to his brother. Hi guys, I just wanted to get some insight into this situation. A week ago, I found out that for the past year, my cousin (16 year old male) has been inappropriately touching my other cousin (11 year old female) for the past year. None of us knew, until she finally exploded and told her parents. Its really disturbing, and its tearing my previously almost perfect family apart. Both of them seemed to have a normal, friendly relationship and I never would even think my 16 year old cousin would do that to anybody. He has always been pleasant, and was raised being taught to do the right thing. I (15 year old female) have known him all my life, and never, absolutely never would think he was even capable of thinking along those lines. I really wished this never happened, but I would like to know why. Why would he do such a horrific thing? I don't want to believe, nor do I want to have to shut him out from my life. I know nobody can know the exact reason why, but at this time, I'm not comfortable asking him, but I would like some insight. **Note - They are not siblings. We are all cousins. Thank you.

My mom does twice a week and my dad has been getting wasted at least four times a week for a few years. They are both somewhat happy.. but qhen they get drunk they are so rude. When they are hungover they are disrespectful as well.. i tried to talk to both of them and they get angry at me for... Idk.. i taked to my grandma about it and she agrees with me that its bad for them to do that but she feels its not her place to tell them that. She said if i wanted to live with her i could. Thats not an option... I have animals to take care of at my house and my parents wouldnt let it happen. Idk what to do... Them drinking is kind of tearing a hole in our family.. i need advice... I don't know if I'm wrong in this situation but my mom was complaining about how my room was so dirty it was practically a safety hazard. I said I would clean it during the week since I've had a lot going on with finals, etc. She then proceeds to take a lighter and set my garbage on fire and told me my entire room would go up in flames since it was so messy. I then panicked and grabbed her arm to get her away from the garbage and I yelled at her while putting out the fire with water. I gave her a scratch on her arm and it bruised up and she took away my laptop for it. I understand that I need to clean my room but is setting a room on fire the appropriate action to take? Also it was wrong for me to give her a scratch but who do you think is wrong?

I'm 22 and I work full time. Monday through Friday 9-530. I need to walk my dog for an hour a day. (Trying to help her lose a few pounds) I have to do ALL housework. (Yes, all) I live with my dad aND teenage nephew and both of them do absolutely nothing to help. (House is usually a mess because I struggle so bad keeping up with it, it's a very small house more like an apartment ) I try to go to my nephews baseball games since his parents are both deadbeats and so he lives with us. Only 2 of my grandparents are still alive and so I try to visit with them a bit since we live next to them in a duplex. I have a cat who lives upstairs in my house because her and my dog refuse to get along and I try to spend time with both of them. I have a boyfriend who doesn't ever have a day off with me so I can't see him except for at night which makes it hard to walk my dog because we get home at 6 and I won't get there til 730 at least if I do. I'm trying to get into exercising some more because I have a little weight to lose but I just feel like I never have time for anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is so stressful and I'm planning on going to beauty school at night soon so it will just be even worse! HELP

Im not sure if i am giving up too soon or am i making the right decision . I love my sons father he used to be my bestfriend but now my love and care is fading & he doesnt mean as much to me anymore. We met when i was 17 and he was 20 from the beginning my family & friends did not like him & still dont . Even his family doesnt like him & has told me numerous times they feel like he will bring me down . As the years past we been through alot from ,stealing from me, him doing cocaine & abuse . He tries to brush it under the rig and says that if i work on myself harder to care more & make him happy then he wouldnt be as abusive & says the way i ignore him triggers his anger. after he put his hands on me while i was carrying our child my love for him changed he was already hitting me before but that stood out to me . im not the type of woman that hits him when i get mad i dont touch him i usually just try to walk off which he hates & calls it running . we have a son now and i dont want my son to think thats how he is supposed to be treated or see his mom get abused by anyone. he says im exaggerating the word abuse since he doesnt hit me everytime and each arguement where he does hit me its usually only 1 slap, or 1 punch , or 1 mush , or 1 hard push . so far this year he has put his hands me 5 times. maybe 4 of the times out of our relationship something on my face has either bled or was swollen. he says he is willing to do anything to change and get me back. What should i do?
