I am new to California. I moved from Minnesota. I moved by myself. I am 24 years old. I don't know anyone here. I am so excited to be here that when I meet a random person I start talking about how long I've been here. I know that this is bad. Today my Uber driver was from Venezuela, I could tell because of the shirt that she was wearing. I came to the United States from Colombia when I was 10 years old. I think I gave my driver too much information about myself. I am unemployed right now and she told me that she has a friend who is working at a company and maybe he knows if they need someone. She gave me her phone number and then she asked me to text her so that she can send him my number. Then we kept talking and I told her that I've been wanting to go to the beach and she said that we could go there next Sunday. She told me that she has three children but that the father took custody of two of them and she has the youngest that is two months old. I am excited to make new friends but I think this is too dangerous. I honestly don't want to keep in touch with her for my safety. How do I just end all contact with her in case that she contacts me?

During last week's meeting, prof said we can meet last week of month to discuss project. After that meeting, I emailed the prof to confirm again my availability. The prof replied that he will get back to me.....but it's almost last week of month. Do I wait until Sunday to see if there's an update? Or initiate an email on Sunday?

Just moved to a new state and town for college. I live with my grandpa to save money on school. School doesn't start until the end of August anyway. It seemed like a good idea to just up and leave but now, I have no one to hangout with. I started an internship but it's filled with a bunch of adults. How do I meet people my age? I'm 18 by the way.

I'm 16 and a softmore in high school. I feel very deeply, especially for my age. I'm always there for my friends when they need me, and it's not like I have this boring personality, I'm also not trying to constantly be nice and stuff. But I feel like I do so much for people, but it doesn't matter. I have several friends yes, but I only have like 3 closer ones. And I thought I had a best friend. It seems my friends always leave me for someone "better". It makes me feel like a bore, even though I don't feel like I'm boring. I'm ALWAYS second place. People love replacing me, and it ruins me. I can't truly connect with anyone my age, and I had a best friend who I could connect with, but I think she's trying to drift away from me, and she's turning to a different friend. So much has happened to me in my life, and I'm so hurt, I don't even see a point in living at times. If people are just going to use me as second choice, then maybe I just shouldn't exist. Sometimes I wish I could die. Because of this, I shut everyone out. I shut out guys my age as well. I can't trust anyone anymore. My question is, why do people leave me? Why do people get close to me, and then back out. One minute I have a best friend, the next minute, they leave me for someone else. Why does this happen?

So I will try to keep this short:) My daughters first birthday is coming up soon, and I have had the plans ready since BEFORE she was born. These friends have been asking what we were going to do for her 1st birthday since day 1. They have known of our plans for a year now! (They aren't that close with her, but like to ACT like their her parents, and like she loves them SOOO much, and like their this BIG part of her life (when their not)) A few months ago they made plans to go out of state during her birthday. First, they seriously tried to get us to do away with our plans, and go with them, so they could still see her on her birthday.. But I said NO. We already had our plans, and they made plans during her birthday, knowing it was her birthday, so to me, they have no right to try and get us to change plans for THEM. Anyways, NOW they are trying to get us to let them throw her a party when they get back. (We have no family here, but they do, so pretty much it would be a party for OUR daughter, with THEIR family-- who we don't know) And with them, they would be acting as her parents- Taking her around, taking pictures, holding her while they sing happy birthday, all the things the PARENTS do. (I say they will act this way, from experience. They try and take over EVERY Holiday) To me, they have no right to throw her a party. The party that WE are throwing, IS her party. But before I tell them no.. am I overreacting? Just being a typical overbearing first time mommy? I do like them, but since I had my daughter, they have been annoying me! They have no kids of their own, so they try to play house with our daughter. They didn't like the thing we had planned for her birthday, so to me it just feels like, "Your idea is stupid, we have better things to do, we'll just throw her our own party at another time" I don't want to sound like "oh they made plans during her birthday, HOW DARE THEY!" I didn't really care if they came anyways. But the point is, they made changeable plans, that to this day, can be moved a couple of days (no days have been requested off, no hotels have been booked). Which I REALLY do not care for them to change:) But I am saying, if they REALLY wanted to be there for her birthday, they could. But they would rather have an excuse to throw their own party and get the attention.

I was called for a private conversation. This guy asked me if I can keep a secret and I kade that promise. I went back to hanging with my other friend. She kept asking but no matter how many times I try to get her to move on she wants to know. She says she can keep a secret but the promise was between me and my buddy. Not me, my buddy, and someone else who will start a chain reaction. She got mad and accused me of not trusting her. *social chain reaction I try but every time we hang out she keeps asking saying that friends should let each other know everything. I also know that friends don't stab friends in the back.

Ok so there's this girl in my English class that is so annoying. She is pretty thin and pretty small and in my opinion not that strong. I've seen her perform and she could barely do any sort of discus or shock put succefully she even got cut from the team cause she wasn't performing well. She is constantly bragging about how strong she is and how she could totally break someone's arm and body slam them when she coud not even throw a discus that far. It doesn't weight that much. She is always saying she could totally take me on because she knows karate or some **** but mind it I'm taller and bigger than her 😂 So I don't know what she thinks she can do. She is also always calling me a dumbass if I get a question wrong but I usually don't argue so I tell her ok whatever but she really is getting on my nerves. She may be strong I guess cause she does karate or something and maybe she does know how to fight but she just brags about it in and on and never proves herself how do I give her a reality check without being rude?

So I met a guy about 5-6 months ago, but it seems like I've been knowing him for forever. He's in the military, he teaches, and is a preacher at a local church in his city. He's a little older, he's 52 and I'm 23. He have his own house and he keep asking me to move in with him. My heart says yes, but I'm not sure if it's smart to just up and leave to stay with him just yet. Him and I talk all the time & fall asleep on the phone every night. He wanted me to download this app called Life360 so that he can track my every move, he says it makes him feel closer to me. He knows pretty much everything about me. He have kids that are 19, 22, 28, and 30 years old. I'm not sure how they'll accept me as a stepmom. He doesn't want me to tell my family that I'm thinking about moving with him. He feels that they will try to talk me out of it. He's one of the sweetest guys I've ever met and he fell in love with me very quick. He sends gifts to my house almost every week. Today I told him I wasn't sure about moving in and it crushed his soul. Should I take that chance and move in with him?

In my 15 year old's friend group or "squad", there are 4-5 girls her age and the other 3-4 girls are high school seniors. She is only in grade 9 so that's a three year age gap. They hang out at school and outside of school, like a regular teenage group. I'm worried that since some of them are 18, they might pressure my daughter and her friends into drinking and 'adult' things. The legal age of drinking is 19 for Canadians, and some kids at that age (especially 17-18 year olds) drink anyways because they are almost at the adult age. Should the older girls start to hang out separately from the younger ones - or should we still allow it?

I've never really had friends. I never had a friend that would just call or text me just to talk/text. I've never had anyone call me up and invite me to an outing/party. No one has had a genuine interest in me. When I've gone out on a limb to express interest in others they just reject me. Even when we have a shared interest. I just don't get it. I'm not obnoxious or over bearing. I'm not socially awkward either. No one has felt uncomfortable around me people just seem...uninterested in me.

My friend only texts me when she needs me. I thought we had this great connection and we used to get along so well but lately she ignores me and I feel very emotionally swayed by her. Ok i know this sounds stupid but bare with me. Im going to sound super immature and honestly, i am. But i cant help the way i feel. I have a sister five years younger than me who has competed with me my whole life and actively tries and often succeeds at beating me at anything im good at and then rubbing it in my face. Like she'll play a sport i play and score five goals and be like "oh, how many goals did you score when you were my age??" Knowing i never scored. Instagram and social media is the only place ive been able to do my own thing and interact with other people without the competition. But she just got an instagram and is gaining followers fast. Its only a matter of time before she has more than me and rubs it in my face. Idk what to do or if anything, to stop feeling this way. I honestly hate the person shes become since she hit puberty we honestly dont even feel like sisters anymore

Okay so im friends with this one girl and the only time shell ever talk to me is when were with our other friends. She never really talks to me that much. Our conversations are always me trying to talk to her and her half listening. Im always the one starting the conversations and trying to keep things interesting shes always giving one word responces and never really doing much to continue the conversation. Its always a one sided conversation. I feel like the only time this girl talks to me is when were with our group of friends or when were talking about her. But when ever i have an issue she doesnt really listen to me. I remember i texted her once about this typical teenage girl problem i had when my mom invited this one girl who i had bad blood with and her family over for dinner and she read my text but never responded. I feel like im such a good friend to this girl but she doesnt try to be a friend to me. What should i do? Should i confront her about it or give her some more time? Am i over reacting and should i just drop the whole thing?

I'm a junior in high school and school is going to end soon. I have been thinking to myself and I see my accomplishments as a junior. It isn't much and I can't find myself to be ecstatic about them. I always feel like a loner, even through elementary and middle school. I never found someone who would want to actually connect to me. I feel as if once someone talks to me for a while, they get bored of me and move on. I do sit with a group of friends, but it's hard to jump into threat conversations. At a young age my parents always told me to keep my mouth shut when others are talking . That I can't cut in. Well now I can't ever cut into a conversation because I don't have the guts to do so. Should I force myself to talk more? I mean I try but no one ever talks to me long.

I have a coworker who playfully picks on me EVERY single time we work together. Sometimes it's playful, sometimes it's just because and other times, (usually when around other coworkers) he may be a bit sarcastic/moody in his joking around. When we work, he tries to beat me to certain things we have to do at the job like it's a race. He HAS complimented me to the patients saying that I'm a "ball of fire", "easy on the eyes" (IF patient gives a compliment), "she does laps around everyone", complimented my hair/the headbands I wear...etc. I know these are friendly gestures/compliments, but some days I wonder why he "picks" on me so much. I'm not looking for attention, but would really like some input or view points. **There is 100% NO romantic interest between us. Just coworkers. He also is just about 20 years older than I am, making him in his mid 40's.**

My friend and I are very close. She's a lot older but we get along really well. It's about to be her one year mark since her dad died. Lately she has been very excited over her new pool although I know as we are reaching the one year mark she is going to be extremely upset that week. I know I can't heal her heart but I want to cheer her up just a tiny bit. Would it be silly if I bought a new pool float for the new pool and mailed it to her? My back was sore from lifting heavy stuff so I went to a drug store and asked the pharmacist what he would recommend for an aching back. He said "Been Gay". I told him no, I had been straight all my life. Why would the pharmacist be interested in my sexual orientation?

I've been friends with this guy for a few months. We used to chat semi-frequently and then we would see eachother a couple times every week to go climbing together at the gym. We would hang out to do other stuff occassionaly as well. The past month and a half though he kept cancelling our plans (and then rescheduling and cancelling a lot- I still saw him a few times) but when we weren't hanging out he would text me a good amount and send me articles/links. But over the past couple weeks he's been horrible about communicating. 24+ hr response times, not really trying to make plans at all, etc. What gives? I want to ask him why he doesn't want to hang out anymore but I don't know how and don't want to come off as some desperate person.

SO AP submissions were due 3 weeks or so ago and I have completed the submission for the performance task (computer science principles) and I feel horrible and anxious about it. Long story short, I worked on this project with a classmate. However, it was me who did the majority of the programming and designing while this "friend" was casually scrolling through her phone, doing other homework basically everything except help me get things done. Somehow though, during the process, we ended up directly copy and pasting half of our code from a third party source while the other half was lame and bland. On a side note, we also needed a documentation to go with the program. She wrote her own documentation for "our program" and expected me to write one on my own as well after I did all the work. She was just really being... annoying to put it simply ,and I was incredibly mad and worried about the submission. It was one week before the submission. My friend had submitted her s first. I was about to do mine but I just couldn t get myself to click the submit button after I saw the reminder on college board s plagiarism policy. So I modified the program to get rid of all the copied codes to the best of my ability. After I hit submit was when the excruciating agony, guilt, and worries started rolling over me. I m worried that my teacher will see the difference(very likely) and lose trust in me. I also feel really really REALLY guilty... What should I do? How do I cope with the result?

Well I forgot to turn his phone back off, when I confronted him he had a smug look because he said he knew I'd look through his phone so he deleted his friends numbers and texts and stored the contacts in a file on his Mac, how paranoid and lowering is that? Do you believe what he said and why wouldn't he lock it?

I'm 22 y/o. My best friend of 9 years and I wanted to go to the city yesterday, but we needed her mom to drop us off to the station because we weren't allowed to park the car. On our way back from the city, I had to pee so badly and there were no restrooms available anywhere. As soon as we got off the train, I saw a train station area and a bathroom inside and immediately rushed in. However, as soon as i went to open the door, the bathroom was locked. Seeing the bathroom made my bladder feel relief and i immediately started to pee myself. I had to walk back to my friend's car (mom was inside) and sit through the car ride with them. They totally knew that I had peed myself but tried to say anything. I got back home, texted my friend an apology, cried for hours, and now I'm here. She told me not to worry about it at all, but I am still really embarrassed. Do you think she'll look at me weirdly from now on if we hang out? Or do you think our friendship will still be the same? Please help...I'm really embarrassed about this whole situation.

Well I'm asking this because I really don't know , I always had friends who used me ,betrayed,talked bad about me ,at first I thought it was their fault but now that the same thing is happening again , and I think I am the one who is wrong and doesn't know how to interact , but I really don't know what I did wrong , I loved them , defended them , I freed my time to go out with them , did stuff I don't like so I don't ruin their moods , but in return all I get is that they "ignore " me , make jokes about me, and remember me when they need homework or when they need help in a quiz , maybe this is related to my personality that I am really "shy" .

I do not bring up my old friend to my current friend, nor do I give her crap for still being friends with my old friend. I have a best friend who I ve known for years. I m a girl, and he s a guy. He has always preferred going out to bars, hookah, bowling, pool late night. I never drink, only with him because that s all he does. I even have to pretend to drink or sip slowly now because he s drinking 10 bears and taking shots and I have no interest whatsoever and because I have to drive. I used to enjoy going out like this after a stressful night in my early twenties. Now that I m in grad school, and older, I don t want that life style at all, even so, I can go along with it, but the biggest problem now is that he insists on staying out until 4 or 5 in the morning ALL THE TIME. I ve only hung out with him twice this year because of this. He doesn t talk on the phone, text, do dinner or movies and I want to be in bed by 12. But he s one of my best friends. I don t know what to do.

I lied because at my work If you're not around the age 25 you kinda get made fun of. I'm not sure why, you just do. I had no intentions of making friends I just went to work to get a paycheck. I have known this person for 9 years. I moved away 2 years ago, and we have kept in touch, not letting 2 weeks go by without contacting each other. I mean like a Skype and stuff, and we have seen each other in person a little, but it s been growing more distant. I have made so many memories with my best friend, I do not think I would be where I am today without him. I even cried about the thought of not being friends anymore (which is strange im like the least emotional person you ll ever meet). How do I stop this rift? Ok, so all of my friends are starting stuff and drama with me and they are all yelling at me. I told one of my friends that another friend called her something and she did and she went up to me and told me to stop starting sh*t. Then another person yelled at me for telling someone about her dating someone, when I never said a things. I am extremely suicidal right now, I dont know what to do. Too much is going on. I do not know why I am friends with them. They are actually really mean to me now

so my friend is finishing high school in 2 weeks, and as of the past 3 months, he's kind of decided to spread himself thin and talk to all of his newer friends. in this process, he's begun to leave behind and totally ignore the few people who have been there for him consistently for like 3-4 years. when they confront him about it, he apologizes, swears they're important to him, and... nothing changes. he used to be my closest friend, and i think he now just completely is taking people for granted. I care about him a lot and I honestly am just worried that by doing all of this and focusing on his flimsy new relations, he's going to f-ck up the few friendships that will offer him life-long connections. I can't exactly tell him this though so.. what would you do in this situation?

Okay so I have really really bad social anxiety o can't hold a smile very long i literally have no friends I'm 15 and I've never been to a party or hang out with friends or anything I mostly stay at home.At school I feel sooo wierd walking across the campus or anywhere I don't know I feel like people are watching me or something it's the same way in class I don't talk to anybody I even feel wierd looking around i try to act like I'm writing just so I don't have to look up and then when I do look up I have to cover up my face just to feel a little comfortable.At lunch I sit alone sometimes people talk to me but I'm so wierd I can't keep up a good conversation then I can't keep eye contact I always look down or get on my phone.i want to be normal but I'd have to get help but I'm scared to tell my parents cause they might think I'm being dramatic.i was thinking I should just wait until I'm older and go get help on my own but I don't really know......could it just go away with time?

So about 5 months ago i created this fake instagram account of my best friend. And I've been posting pictures on there and **** pretending to be her. And I also act like a slut in the DM section, with guys from school. All the while pretending to be her. I feel so awful but I can't stop. I don't know whether my best friend likes me anymore at all. We fell out last week but we still made up and everything is fine at school except she now always hangs out with another friend and not me. So one of my friends is majority crushing on this youtuber. She's not only crushing on him she thinks she knows him really well. She talks about his personality and how much he has helped her in life (when all he posts are prank videos and collabs). She retweets tweets where he says he's upset about something and says "I'm always here for you". She is obsessed. And jokingly one of our friends said she was in love with another youtuber and we "bashed" her about it. Well this one friend was very mad at us and told us that that was our opinion and stuff. Do you think she actually knows this youtuber? Or are we correct in saying that you never really know them unless you are friends with them?

Ok so I'm thinking of making a YouTube channel. I'm a 15 year old guy from Texas and I've been made fun of but not violently bullied like pushed around or someone trying to attack me at a locker or making me kill myself or anything like that. Just people spreading things around me that I do like about my appearance or gestures I do that some might find weird and spreading it on twitter or snapchat. I've had this issue since elementary school so most know me as that weird guy that nobody really talks to. Once somebody took a video of me and posted it on snapchat and since most people at school follow each other everyone saw it so I'm basically that kid. I'm afraid that if I have an insta or a channel, they might comment on my channel or pic and put bad things about me on there if they recognize me. Should I just post a pic like what if they start putting hate comments or something and then strangers will unsubscribe bc they know I used to be a certain way??? Or secretly dm everyone who follows my twitter to unfollow me just to make me feel bad

My daughter is 15 and she hangs out with a group of girls. A few are grade 9 kids like her, and the rest of the group is made up of high school seniors! There's about 7-8 girls and they regularly hang out everyday. None of these girls are related to each other. Should I worry that the older girls in the group might pressure the young ones into doing things they shouldn't be doing at some point? In Canada, kids cannot drink until they are 19. The 12th graders are about 17-18, and there are some kids who will think that they're "practically old enough" and will do adult things anyways. She was already friends with the same aged kids in elementary school, then one or two of the older kids. Then a few more joined along the way

I think it s important to mention that we re both in High school. One of my close friends middle/elementary school-aged brother unfortunately passed away recently from cancer that he had been battling for a while. I never really knew the brother very well; and I heard about this through second hand sources. Bottom line is, I m not sure if it would be respectful to go to the visitation given that he didn t tell me about it.

My friend has been talking about people behind their backs and always complains about drama, this spreading drama. She treats me like I'm a child. We've known each other for years and I'm just sick of her. I have opened a social media account and will be contacting her through it telling her what she is doing is not right, cuz I'm a scaredy cat and can't tell her to her face when she knows it's me saying it. Also I like being extra. I have a lot of things planned in my head, but what do you think I should tell her?

Ok, it's kinda a long story. So my ex best friends mom is basically stalking me. She has even admitted it! She said she watched me and my friends at home coming with binoculars, she drives past my house almost every day and has even crashed my party that her daughter wasn't even invited to because of those reasons! And the ironic thing is, she always ruins my parties. Even if she's not invited! I'm starting to get real tired of this, so are my parents. That was only the shortened version of the story, there's much more. I honestly feel like calling the police, that's how far it's going but I know I can't because my parents will be angry, so I'm going to wait until I'm at least 18 if it comtinues and make the call hopefully having her arrested. I swear to you I am not exaggerating. I'm super pissed because every birthday I had with my friends was ruined by her and her mental mother. I can't take the constant stalking and following anymore! What can we do??

So this is a lot, but please read it all to understand. Me and my best friend (we'll call her Katie) have been friends for a few years now, and we were the happiest we could be. Never really had any major fights until a few weeks ago. I think it has a lot to do with her new guy friend that she made a few months ago. He became my best friend too, and it was just the three of us for a while. I started to notice things lately, signs that they were getting closer, and not just as friends. They refuse to admit they like each other, but honestly it's pretty obvious and this guy friend (who we'll call George) told me he doesn't like her right now but he doesn't know what will happen in the future. Soon after they started leaving me out of things, and i started to find out that most of Katie's life, wasn't being told to me. Even simple things, like her not doing very good on her test were too hard to tell me. I kept it in though and didn't really say anything about them telling each other secrets about their life(not tests more important stuff) and leaving me out, and then one day it was the last straw for me. Katie and George went to the pool to hang out and they planned it for a while, but it never once popped up. They've not invited me multiple times before, so I got used to it and they should know i wouldn't have cared. But the thing is, they started sending me pictures of them having fun at the pool and at George's house. I know it seems really selfish and dramatic but i was extremely hurt. I was mad and upset and i didn't return his texts after he sent me all of those pictures. Then Katie figured out i was mad. In my anger i did something stupid that i will regret for a while. I told two other very close friends of mine what they did and called them *****. Ik i shouldn't have done that but i was so mad. Anyway, somehow they found out i called them that and got mad at me. I apologized and sent an extremely long apology that apparently made George cry. Katie has been depressed for a while, but it's not like i knew that, she never tells me anything. She told me she was mad and i added on to her stress and stuff like that. I decided to give both of them space, and didn't talk to them for a day to let them have time to think about it. A friend of mine that i told what happened talked to George about it and went without my permission to tell him how i felt. The time and space plan didn't end up working. He got upset i couldn't talk to him in person, and cried during lunch. Katie, though, is now mad at me and she lied to me about not telling anyone what happened. She then asked me if I was texting George, and i was, because things were slightly getting normal again, he said he forgave me. She then started saying stuff like "You better not hurt him" and "I swear to god don't hurt him" and "leave him the f*ck alone" even though i was just trying to fix things. And according to George and the friend she lied to me about telling what happened to, I "said a lot of stuff to her" and "she's mad and cant trust you when you did all that to her" and i dont know what i did :/ She also told people i called her a b*tch, but i didn't, and when she asked why i came to school acting like everything was fine, i told her i didn't want the attention, and she said stuff like "Didn't you start all this just to get attention?" I already admitted i was wrong for getting upset, and told them i would understand if they didn't want to be friends anymore. Now she's mad and she has every right to be but i don't know what to do.

A friend cut me off and we have not talked in almost 4 months ... She was very angry with me and it was all my fault. She was so angry that she talked to the police so I could leave her alone. But I still miss her a lot because she was my best friend for more than 3 years. She was the only true friend I ever had, I really want to speak to her But I'm scared for the police. I even want to send her a nice gift to her house (something anonymous). I'm not a stalker but I miss her deeply. What shall I doo??? I'm not trying to cause any harm I know I hurt her and I feel extremely bad

We are both 19 & working. We have an apartment, and a 1 year old. Well lately my boyfriend been just going to work, coming home for about 15 minutes (sometimes he'll eat, relax, shower, etc.) BARELY spend time with me and our son, and then go to his friends...there's time where he will stay out very late at his friends and lately it's been all about them .. He had off today and our son is sick. And he is out driving his friend around. All day today I been cleaning & up with our son and I just been nonstop crying. He never spends time with us anymore and I feel like our relationship is falling apart. He's growing distant from the both of us and I asked if he could stay back but he always has an excuse. Today his excuse was his friend desperately needs a ride to all these places...his "errands" can last up to HOURS. I am so exhausted and even have work early in the am and probably going to get no sleep because im doing this on my own ... Please help how can I get him to stay home?? Thanks in advance..:(
