I wanted to wear a certain dress for my speech but I need to get some additions to it before and I told my mom the day we bought the dress which was like a month before I have to present and she never took me. I can t drive myself as I only have my permit.

Ok so my friend invited me to her engagement party and even the invitations said they were for her engagement party. I know that in afghan culture you cannot be considered with your fiance or even engaged until this party happens..... so we go to a party that seems a whole lot similar to a wedding with the cake and live band and 200+ people. They have their "priest" (i cant remember the proper term, my apologies) talk about them being an official couple over a mic and noone really paid much attention because i was told they are just discussing her dowry in the corner table of the room. Nothing seemed to express an actual marraige ceremony. Even when her fiance put her ring on her nothing was announced and noone paid any attention. The next day they start posting that they are MARRIED and after i call ny friend she says she FORGOT to tell me she decided to make it a wedding?! She says everyone shouldve known cause she was wearing a green afghan dress. She knows i am not afghan and i tried to look up so much on this but found nothing. Can someone please explain to me if this is normal? I feel so confused and Im not sure how to understand that i just attended a wedding without even knowing it?

I mean children that are part of the family, mostly nieces and nephews. And by distraction I mean basically stealing the spotlight and focus from the bride and groom. It's not fair when the bride and groom's parents are distracted by the grandkids and no a wedding is not a family reunion! (Inspiration from this topic is Pippa's wedding and how Kate's kids stole the show.)

My wedding is in 7 months and I'm so happy to go dress shopping now, but the downfall is is that I keep losing weight and if the dress that I order now fits me too big afterwards I don't know what should I do. Should I wait sometime to order my dress or what should I do? I have lost 26lbs so far and I don't know if I will keep losing more weight before my wedding day. Thank you for your opinions :)

I don't know why people say that emerald cuts aren't sparkly. I will say that **it depends on the lighting**, in some lighting, like overcast, cloudy and fluorescent office lighting it doesn't sparkle, but even some rounds don't sparkle in such lighting. However, in the right lighting an Emerald Cut can be blinding! I do think it's the type of cut that needs to be over 1carat, otherwise it's not big enough to appreciate the intricate details of the step cut. Also I'll say there are some dark spots in a large emerald cut caused by the steps within, but I find that beautiful and entrancing. Lastly I'll just say that if an emerald cut is good enough for Beyonce, Grace Kelly and the First Lady of the United States (granted all at gigantic sizes), I'd love to own one!

I was paying for my daughters wedding. It was a big wedding with 400 guests that cost about $500,000. I recently found out that she's sleeping with her fiancée. As you can imagine I'm very disappointed. What's the point of having such a nice wedding anymore? Should she still have a white dress even though she fornicates?
