My best friend been In my life for 10-11 years and my other one has been for 4 years. I try to be the optimistic one who gives our fun ideas when we all are hanging out but no one seems to want to do them. My best friend who've I been the closest to and know the longest grew apart from me and my other best friend to this girl. She is introvert with me but outrovert with her and she is obsessed with her when that girl isn't a great person because she's about drama and she isn't a good friend. My other best friend doesn't like her either and agrees with me. but me and her growing apart a little bit. I never get invited by anyone of them much anymore. Whenever one of them are free they invite each other I'm excluded, whenever I call to invite they can't hang out so I stop reaching out. In high school i faced many challenges all alone. Bully ,betrayal , labelled, i tried to tell my parents but no one listened or understood they instead blamed me for everything and forced me to wear hijab , when i got no help from my family i looked for a boyfriend to understand me . But they were just so immature, they dumped me and slandered me. They spread rumors about how and where they touched me. I had 4 bfs , bot because i was a slut. An old friend I have not seen in awhile wanted me to hang out with him, and he is not the nicest person to be around with. Today I saw him, and he is known to be pretty bad (gets into a lot of fights, and got stabbed in the stomach), and he harasses (he touches random girls as they go by him and some girls have told him to not touch them) girls. Ok to start off I'm 18 years old and a guy, my problem is with my parents and how they don't let me have life. I've worked with a guy for around a year, who has never really paid attention to me or interacted with me, and I knew on FB who his gf was. In the last 1.5 months, he's started interacting with me more and I noticed him and the gf are no longer FB friends. . Now, he's striking up random conversations with me at least 4-5 times a day, trying to be a goofball, and he showed me something sexual on his phone once and asked if I like sexual humor. I'm 17 and don't have any social media, my friends all say I'm weird because of it and I would probably be more popular if I had social media. One of my close friend tag me in some posts that shows my name. I laugh at that post and write something to comment until I delete it all. Write-delete-write-delete and Im so nervous I don't know why. I turn off my chat so that they thought Im off. After a few hours, I revisit the posts and one of my classmates also comment. Don't get me wrong, while I would love to have female friends, I feel like I am going nowhere attempting to befriend other women. Since I finished college 2 years ago (I'm 24), I have tried and failed to get along with girls my age (I get along with much older women though). Some were rude AF and others were just not interested in being friends with me. I still don't have any girl friends. I just recently got rejected for a friendship again from a girl in my dancing class, and I felt that was the last straw for me. I always see girls and their friends on snapchat having fun & partying and hanging out and being bridesmaids for weddings, and it makes me feel sad and even jealous because I can never experience that. But there's no way I am forcing friendships. There were some guys in the past that I wanted to be friends with, but I rejected them because I didn't want to have a bad reputation of having only guy friends. I feel bad about it now. However, the only reason why I didn't want to make friends with some of my male coworkers at my old male-dominated job was because they were perverts towards the women working there. I think I should only have 2 close male friends and guy associates. No I don't plan on having an army of male friends either because half of them might only want to get in your pants. Also, some guys cause as much drama as girls anyway. So I'll be just as cautious towards guys. Also, I am trying to join an alumnae chapter of a black sorority, but I also noticed that I get along better with the older women. If I do gain female friends after I join, than that's good for me. I have suspected for some time that a so called friend was cheating me and ripping me off. I am positive now that she is and has been doing me dirty for our entire friendship. Everyone in my class keeps hitting me, accusing me, calling me gay and more, let's start with the huge guy, he hits me as hard as he can for no apparent reason, it hurts badly, he also blames me for everything, and takes it as an excuse of his actions, and blames me when teacher tells him off, he is strong and I cannot hit him, other groups make fun of me and every word I freaking say! They claim it is just a joke, some of them keeps mocking me and argueing over me, even out of my class, people push me, the kids in my class keeps spreading rumors around me (I can't stand it), in English, (I hate this lesson for the bully kid) this "popular" kid makes fun of me, spreads rumors about me, makes everyone around me hate me, and when I try to defend my self, everyone keeps mocking me or hitting me and saying "YO! Don't pick on (kid's name) he is our friend". I SAY SCREW YOU POPULAR KID, WHAT A LOSER!! KEEPS CALLING FRIENDS TO DEFEND HIMSLEF BOOOOO!!!!! The only time they become my friends is at exam where everyone treats me nice and wants to sit next to me, because I always study hard and I think school is a good place, I just can't fit in, I wish I can, it seems they are more interested on fights, being rude, dancing to crappy music, and spending money or chasing girls, I am interested in gaming, and studying, and being a good person, they make fun of me, and keep calling me baby for not watching inappropriate things, they keep saying, "Oh mario kart? You kid! Play GTA5 like us!" I couldn't continue because I had reached limit, so this is continue. When I get and A plus in the exam they keep telling the teacher that I actually cheat, they laugh at me and call me crybaby because I am sad of being bullies, THEY HAVE NO FEELINGS! They keep accusing me of anything and take my stuff to laugh at me, I am known as the weak, for loving memes and games that they hate, like Battlefield 1, Mario Kart, Mario Bros. and more, they judge me over anything and ruin my stuff.

What if it meant losing the other friends whom you already had? A man with severe mental health issues befriended me . I have since started hanging out with him . My other friends/associates have told me to be cautious and careful , out of fear that he may harm me in one way or another. I acknowledge that he is " different from everyone else" but I have accepted this . I have not paid my friends or associates any attention therefore, when they tell me to stay away from him. Also the people who have told me to stay away from him are messed up themselves.They smoke cannabis and sometimes do cocaine and other street drugs .Therefore , their reality is warped. I d much rather befriend a mentally ill person who reached out to me for help , than to listen to someone who is a druggie. As the person who is mentally ill , DID NOT ask to be this way . However the people who are on drugs , CHOSE to be that way.

There's a girl I was friends with. We've never met in person and only through Twitter. I closed the door on her the 1st time a few years ago by ignoring her text messages. The reason why I got rid of her the 1st time because I couldn't take it anymore when she was controlling me. When I got back together with an ex-boyfriend, she got angry at me and told me to be careful because I didn't know how committed he was to me. She said that I couldn't wait for him forever and didn't want me wasting my time. Then when I got rid of her the 1st time, I didn't hear from her again until 3 years later. Why would she try to reach out to me a few years later? I closed the door on her a 2nd time because she was at it again. 6 months later after getting rid of her, here's the email I sent to her: "Hi, I know it's been 6 months since we last spoke. I'm very happy with my life right now. When you contacted me on Facebook after not speaking for 3 years, I thought it was a mistake when I accepted your friend request. I've moved forward and I don't think it's a good idea to rekindle our friendship. I wish you all the best. Take care!" She never replied to that email. Do any of you think you know why she didn't? Do any of you think she's angry, sad, or hurt that I sent this email? How do you all think she reacted after reading this? Why didn't she beg for me back? I have her blocked from FB, Instagram, and most of all her phone number. I'm curious to hear what you all think.

Before you answer this, let me explain a few things. I'm a 17 year old guy in high school. I have high functioning autism but idk if that contributes to the problem. I'm no social butterfly but I'm certainly not an awkward introvert. I participate in school sports and I have a girlfriend of almost 8 months. I can be funny. I'm decently good looking. I'm not arrogant. I'm also extremely loyal to those that are nice to me. I don't expect people to treat me like a King or anything but it's really pissing me off that I'm super nice to new people even though I don't trust them and they'll show mutual interest in return usually but it doesn't seem to last. Once I open up a little more to them they just loose interest out of nowhere. I didn't do anything to hurt them, annoy them, anger them, etc. They just simply get dry. For example, there's this one guy in my English class that showed interest in me when I first met him (The beginning of this semester) and now he's dryer than a desert. I try to interact with him via Snapchat, he'll respond with one letter texts and will stop responding within seconds. I try to interact with him when I walk by him in the halls at school and he either ignores me completely or looks at me for half a second and then looks down. Now I know that whatever bridge once existed between us burned somehow and I'm not asking for advice on that specific situation but it IS however a notorious example for the bigger question. This girl was one of my best friends in middle and high school. She has a tough life due to her mean parents, anger issues/bipolar, and dyslexia. She made a bunch of bad choices and ended up getting knocked up. She now lives with her baby and fiance. I started to see being her friend as more of an obligation. She couldn't seem to stop making dumb choices and I started to notice how self-absorbed she was. I was literally her only friend. That made me stick around out of sympathy. I knew that wasn't right and I tried to slowly pull away over time. That didn't work because I feel bad easily. For the past few months she started trying to manipulate me to get me to be more like her. She kept hinting at wanting me to get into drinking alcohol and get pregnant because we had fewer and fewer things in common and she wanted to keep me around. The last straw was when I finally texted her telling her she had made me angry because of something she did. In response, she sent a long, rambling message trying to guilt trip and blame me and accusing me of trying to start a fight with her (not a normal, rational reaction and I expected it). I then sent a text that said everything she'd done to me that I'd kept bottled up. I then blocked her on everything. Her response was to text me from multiple numbers and post a facebook status naming me to all her friends, wishing me misery, and calling me a c*nt. Did I do the right thing? I feel a bit guilty. I just need reassurance. I feel bad because I was literally her only friend (she's hard to be around for most people). I don't intend to ever be friends with her again and I don't regret it, but was a too harsh? Should I have at least made a vain attempted to talk it out? The result would have been the same no matter if I tried to talk or broke it off more gently because I fully intended to be done no matter what. She has an explosive temper.

I want to make the right decision, but need some unbiased advice. Out of respect for this person I'm going to call her Anna. To make a long story short: Anna and I have a mutual friend together and one day Anna sent me a friend request on instagram and I accepted it bc of our mutual friend (which I found out later our mutual friend doesn't even really talk to Anna, they're more acquiantances). Anyways, i've known Anna for about 3 years now and have not met her because i'm in a different state that her since I moved. I always tried to be cordial with her but kept her at arms length because i don't know her well. Last year she messaged me and we communicated back and forth, she asked for my skype and i didn't see the harm in it and things progressed from there, she seemed nice enough. We exchanged numbers etc. Then here's where the problems arise... 1. she opened up to me about her fam randomly-- she said that her family hates her because she doesn't look "greek enough" and her dad sent her away to some psychiatric facility years ago for 1 year bc she says that he accused her of trying to poison him and of being violent. she says she didn't do it. 2. she told me non-chalantly that she has my picture as the screen saver on her phone and says "its not weird because we're best friends" 3. she says she's going to be the godmother to my kids and that they can come and stay at her house during the summer for a few weeks (like what the ****). cont... 4. She made up a story: she told me that someone in her class said that she went to college with me and said that i was "a major *****." Then anna says "but i stood up for you!" and I was like, wait what is her name? and which class was this? and anna says: her name is Vanessa and it was Soc class last semester. And I knew everyone in my soc class, there were NO Vanessa's. I don't even personally know ANYONE named vanessa. And I also go to a uni states away from her. Why would she tell me that? 5. I'm not sure how to describe this. If she senses i'm being distant (not talking to her for 1-2 days) she tends to constantly bring my name up and say that her aunt said "yeah anna and [my name] will always be best friends, they can go days without talking and still be best friends." She'll change it up, but it's like she's trying to get confirmation from me or something?? 6. There's a lot more stuff i've left out, but I can't tell if this girl is safe to be around? She has booked a flight to come see me and i'm supposed to pick her up 2 hrs away from me in LA… I just need some advice. Idk if i'm being too nice or if I should distance myself. I don't want to hurt her but I just feel cringed about all this. Sometimes she can be so normal/nice but so many times I feel like there's something wrong with her.

I met my friend, lets call her B, through my best friend A. A and I have been friends for 6+ years. She invited B to something and we met up and instantly got along really well. B and I became best friends, but A was also our best friend too, so we were like 3 best friends. A started talking about B behind her back, and said to me "I shouldve never introduced her to you". I could tell she was very jealous of our new friendship. About a month later she caused a fight between me and B, and then was hanging out with B just the 2 of them. A then texted me encouraging me to talk about B (she started it, and insulted B encouraging me to. B knew about this.) and because I was mad, I said some things I m not proud of (I called her spoiled and annoying). B was with her when this happened and condoned everything bad A said because they were simply baiting me to talk bad. B then confronted me the next day and we havent talked in 3 weeks. A started all of this with her jealousy. I apologized to B profusely, but she said she d get back to me, and she never did. I miss her so much and I just want my friendship back. A and B are even more close now and are going on vacation together, and while A and I are still somewhat friends, they act like I caused all of this and I m the bad guy. I just want my friends back. I'm invited to my friends birthday who I met over 3 months ago on a night out.. I'm just wondering if it's awkward to give her a gift when I haven't known her that long? I know it's a fairly common sense thing, but for some reason in my head I'm paranoid if it'll be a little weird if I get her something?! I was thinking at first of just getting her a card and buying her a drink on the night of her birthday but then I feel like that isn't enough?! She's a make-up artist so I'm thinking of getting her make-up brushes and a make-up bag? Would that be appropiate since I haven't known her that long? (Opposed to getting her an expensive gift that costs €50)

I ve known my "best friend" (let s call her J) for a longgg time. J knows pretty much everything about me and we can have fun together. However, she s so toxic to me and basically takes advantage of my natural kindness so she can manipulate and control me and I ve had enough of it for a little over a year. I made a new friend (lets call her T) a little over a year ago and we get along so well- it s like we ve been friends forever. This year I started my freshman year and I was hoping that by hanging out with T a lot more, J wouldn t hang out with me as much. However, J just followed me and is now friends with T. But now J is treating it like a competition and gets extremely petty and tries to embarrass me and call me out whenever we re hanging out with T. It makes me so angry because T is the first really genuine friend I ve ever had, and now J is making this into so much drama. I don t want to tell T that she can t be friends with J anymore, but I need to get away from J. It s at the point where J is just ruining my life. I don t know what to do, and no matter what I do, J is going to follow me. Also, if I just confront J about it she ll twist the story around and make me seem like the bad guy to EVERYONE. What do I dooo

I'm known for overwhelming people when I overthink little things and I guess that kind of scares them off? I mean I got more friends the year I didn't talk than the year I talked a lot. Is it because I got boring, did I tell too many stories, or do people think I don't want to listen anymore just because I'm talking. Sorry. Off topic. Anyways I'm just trying to make more friends when I go to my new school.

I am writing my Bestfriend who lives across the country a sweet letter and sending it in the mail. I'm a bit worried because it's really long, although it's an extremely special important letter. She said she enjoys reading my letters but this is the longest. I'm just worried. Would you have recieving a long letter in the mail? From your friend?

Would it be considered rude, awkward, or even condescending to ask someone to correct your mistakes or call you out when you're doing something wrong? Even if you explain to them that you appreciate the person's friendship, care about them, and want to keep them happy, would it still be bad to ask? For example, you always feel like you're wrong and the person never points out your mistakes? Ask or just move on? I appreciate advice! Thanks?

Ok so my friend is mad because I could not make it to her graduation today. But I did tell her that I didn't have any gas and I was babysitting for someone which was a last minute thing. Now I will admit I did know about it in advance and I did plan on going but I did not plan on my current situation. Now she called me and asked if I was coming I told her my situation and she got mad and gave me the rudest "ok bye" to me. I feel like she is being petty because I just gave her 125 dollar loan to cover her overdraft charges to her bank account (which I did not have to do) and I fell like she is being ungrateful. now am I a bad friend or not because I feel like she is being rude.

I have two best friends who I am very close to, A and B. But I always feel like the third wheel. I feel like no matter how best of friends we are, I will never be as close as they are. They're constantly hanging out together, literally every day. I mean I hangout a lot with them too, but I just get jealous whenever they post it on snapchat. Well, friend A is a kind of a big mouth and likes to make her friends jealous so she always posts everything, and it works. But whenever I hangout, she never posts anything of our stuff on snapchat or Instagram, only of a and b. So I was thinking of hanging out with my other friend C who is popular, and make them jealous because I know friend A doesn't like her, and hangout with C and her friends. Is this a good idea? Honestly me and C both have more in common than friends A and B. Is this a good idea?

Hi, now before you read please don't judge or hate on me? :( Okay so about a year ago I was in a really bad place and I was pretty sad. I ended up meeting some friends online and this one guy was one of my really good friends. I never lied about my age or face, I used real pictures of myself but I did lie, It started with just my name, you know I didn't really like my name so I just lied about it and that was it. I didn't have many friends or any siblings but I hated some things about myself. So I lied again. I made up a whole other life for myself, I said I had 4 siblings and I gave them all names and stories and I talk about them I made up friends because I didn't want to feel like a loser, I made up stories and other stupid stuff and it started with me just lying about my name and now I'm in so deep and everyday I hate that I lied to him because he's one of my best friends. I don't really have other friends and I want so bad to tell him what's really going on in my life because I'm hurting and I need someone to talk to but Ik he hates fake people and he will hate me. I don't know what to do.

Sorry if this is long. My best friend Sierra can normally handle things herself, but her boyfriend Parker concerned me. Their relationship started off well enough, but Parker became more aggressive over time and it also gave her second thoughts about the relationship. To me Parker was a jerk, but I guess most girls enjoy that trait in a guy. Well, on one date I secretly tailed them both. Probably weird for a friend to do, but something just felt off that night. Eventually things did go south when Parker got rough with Sierra who she caught slipping something into her drink. Bad. Okay I usually avoid conflicts, but I ended up confronting Parker who proceeded beating me into the dirt and yelling in Sierra's face. They broke up anyways. So Sierra didn't find it bizarre that I had followed. Instead she found it sweet. Okay. But since then Sierra has been acting differently around me. For starters she always wants to know how I'm doing, wants to hang out more often, and she acts more affectionate than ever. Sierra practically hugs me every given chance, plus the other day she tried to kiss me. We've been good friends for years, but I have no idea what's come over her. Sure I was there for her that night, but in all honestly I'm a geeky/boring guy. I can't offer anything beyond friendship for my friend. Why is she trying to hook up with me? I didn't accomplish anything other than getting my *** kicked.
