Question: Nothing is never enough for my 6 year old? Posted: 31 May 2017 02:05 PM PDT My child is spoiled and the reason I know this is because nothing is ever enough for the kid! He's not my biological son but I'm the only mother figure in his life so he's attached to me as if I were his biological mother. It's getting extremely irritating because when I dedicate my whole day to him, he still gives me the whole "I'm sad" spiel because I didn't do MORE. One time, he threw a tantrum. We had played together all day. I took him to my favorite park as a kid. I got us a meal at a restaurant. and this is all after I came from an 8 hour work day. We had ice cream at home. Then, when I tell him to take a bath, he starts screaming and yelling because he didn't get to play minecraft?! I obviously put my foot down and got angry and put him in his place but this one instance obviously hasn't stopped him from complaining about wanting more. Another instance is when he came back from his grandpa's house and he had a sad face again. I asked what was wrong and he said,"Grandpa barely let me play. I only played for 5 hours." 5 hours is a lot!! How do I teach him to be thankful for what he has and gets?! How do I end this complaining? |
Question: MY dad has started dating another woman, he wants me to meet her but I don't want to? Posted: 31 May 2017 01:57 PM PDT My mum is in a caring/nursing home as she is dying of terminal cancer that has spread to her brain. It is so heartbreaking, she's been there for almost 6 months now and she just literally isn't the same person anymore, we've lost her. Anyways my dad revealed to me the other night that he has been on a few dates with this woman that he met online and I feel sick to my stomach. I don't want to meet her EVER but he wants me to. I understand that he is lonely etc and will want to meet someone eventually but I feel like it's still too soon. He says it's cos he knows that my Mum is never going to get better that's why he wants to find someone asap because he hates being lonely and he's sick of grieving. |
Question: My mom doesn't like squishies? Posted: 31 May 2017 01:35 PM PDT My mom doesn't like squishes. She hates the smell of them. She thinks that they have tons of chemicals and are dangerous. I have a few. When I first ordered them my mom wanted to give a few away. She doesn't really understand squishes, and any time I bring one in the same room as her she acts like she can smell even though no one else seems to notice at all. I'm not mad at her or anything. I'm just asking if there is anyway I can convince her to let me order more because I love them! |
Question: My dad is about to lose his job? Posted: 31 May 2017 01:08 PM PDT Hi, I'm 12 and my dad owns a billing company. He says that he hasn't been paying the bills on time, there's $8000 on 3 credit cards that he needs to pay off, and I'm pretty sure his business is about to shut down in a couple of months. He says he has lost 7 accounts and only has two left and we might move in 3 months. My dad doesn't even live in the house though. My parents are in the middle of a divorce and fighting for custody. My dad wants to stop going to court but my stubborn mother refuses. My dad used to be able to pay the bills before having to pay for a lawyer. I'm extremely scared we'll end up moving and my dad will lose his job. He did say though he is currently looking for a new job before he loses his current one which makes me happy. I want my mom to request to the judge to stop the trial I guess so my parents could just work it out between themselves. My dad did say though that court may be ending soon but he really has no idea. Just so you know, my mom is the "bad guy". She cheated on my dad, used him for his money, and is using a lawyer that she can't even afford. I don't know what to do and I just want all of this to end. I should I worry about this or not? You have never met my mother. My mom has not worked for one single penny of that money. She might have taken care of us but she certainly did not take care of my dad. He has health issues because of all the stress she put on him. She is selfish. I have seen her do that. She never worked in her life, never kept the house clean, nothing. So no she really doesn't deserve any of my dad's money. And there is A LOT more things my mom has done other than cheating. My mom has done the worse things. Yes I kind of agree that I shouldn't be snooping around. What makes it bad that he lost 7 accounts is that they were lost in under two weeks. I know I shouldn't be discussing such adult matters but I can't help it. It worries me way too much. |
Question: Why are brother's so gross? Posted: 31 May 2017 12:47 PM PDT I'm 15m and my older brother (17) never changes his socks so our room just REEKS of feet! And sometimes he'll hold me down and put his socked or bare foot on my face and make me smell it for a few minutes. It's sooo grosss |
Question: My daughter dosen't like going outside should I make her? Posted: 31 May 2017 12:33 PM PDT My 8 year old daughter dosent like going outside. Im not sure if its because the girls are mean to her or because she is shy but she wont tell me. I just wish she would give me some space and go find herself a life outside of me. Would I be wrong if i made her go out and play? |
Question: How should I get out of my house? Posted: 31 May 2017 12:26 PM PDT I am 13 yrs. old and i live 20 min. away from all my friends and stores but i don't know how to get to town without a car or having my parents drive me. What do you recommend. Should I try to convince my parents to let me bike all the way to town on my own? Or should I try to work out a way for my parents to drop me off in town with my bike. |

Question: Is it normal that I didn't feel anything when my grandfather died? Posted: 31 May 2017 12:15 PM PDT Grandfather died last year. Didn't feel a thing, kind of just accepted the fact that he's no longer with us. I didn't even shed a tear. Is that wrong? Our relationship wasn't the closest and we only saw each other like twice a year, sometimes even less than that, but I still feel bad. Especially bad because I didn't attend his funeral. Simply told my mom I wouldn't go because I had school, didn't think of it twice, didn't think it'd be rude and disrespectful. Really regret not going. The worst thing is that my best friend's mom died a few days ago and I'm going to her funeral, because I want to be there for my buddy and show respect to their family. Why didn't I show such respect to my OWN family? I feel like such a bad person, wish I could just turn back time. But the one thing I know is that I feel relived for both of them… they had really bad health issues, even though they were only 60 or so. I feel happy and content when I see struggling people finally finding "piece." |
Question: Make $2000 in 6 weeks? Posted: 31 May 2017 11:55 AM PDT I m a kid, and its important that I make $2000 in 6 weeks because I ve been invited to a law convention in Washington DC, but my mom won t pay for plane tickets, etc. I d like to get a job this summer to afford it, but my mom won t let me do that either because she d rather have me spend all day every day doing chores for her for no money at all and she has me signed up for so many dang church activities for her religion, one I ve made clear to her isn t my religion, and no employer will work with my crazy schedule. Any ideas on how to make that kind of money without getting a job? I could try doing a lemonade stand, but I doubt I ll make much that way. |
Question: Did I do something wrong to help my ex mother in law? Posted: 31 May 2017 11:11 AM PDT My ex mother in law Pam called and asked to come see me. She said she needed some help. I liked her a lot when I was married to her daughter Shirley so I said sure, come by any time. Pam told me she was on the layoff list where she worked and she wanted my help updating her resume. We worked on her resume one afternoon. I used my business contacts to get her 2 interviews from business associates that I thought might have an job opening for her skills and experience. She got 2 job offers and accepted one. I thought everyone was happy with the outcome. Pam got a job she likes, her employer got a good employee and I felt good about helping her. Pam was VERY grateful for my help. However everyone was not happy with the outcome. I got an email from my ex Shirley telling me that I should not be helping Pam as I was not family anymore and it made her and her new husband look bad because Pam did not think Shirley and her husband could help Pam. She ask me not to help her mom again. I replied to Shirley and acknowledged I was not family BUT Pam was my friend and when a friend ask for my help, I help them when I can. I told her that if she has a problem with that she should take it up with her mom not me. Does what I did seem reasonable to you? |
Posted: 31 May 2017 11:10 AM PDT My sister (22) is dating a guy (32), he looks 14 at best, bummy looking, college drop out apparently. When my parents first met him he took a shower in our house and did his laundry before they got home. He now keeps a bottle of laundry detergent in our house. Recently he moved to a sober house in our town to be closer to us. But he isn't one of "them" my sis says. His rent is 500 and the food is free but he isn't allowed guests he told us. He works as a waiter part-time despite studying advanced Spanish and formerly pursuing a degree in education at columbia. My sister doesn't have her license yet, so he drives her car around. So much so, he asked my dad to put him on his insurance! My parents are immigrants. With my sister and I's help we sometimes struggle to pay the bills. So this is no drop in the bucket. My dad drives for uber, his work DEPENDS on his insurance. He can't afford for his rates to go up. This guy had the nerve to call him pop before asking for a free pass. He refused to pay the insurance my dad asked him to pay for being a liability $140. To be further disrespectful, he put around 30 dollars and coins! in front of my dad on the table before leaving to drive with my sister. He has the audacity to have loud sex in our home we all share, so I had to eventually talk to my SISTER about how inappropriate/disrespectful that was -we share a wall -and my parents were home! I worried this guy is some kind of grifter/homeless person. What can I do? |
Question: My moms sad I'm graduating?!? Posted: 31 May 2017 11:08 AM PDT So I'm a senior in high school and today my mom went to pick up my grades at school and the teacher told her to go up to pick up the last grades she'll ever pick again and those words really hit her deep. My sister moved out late last year cause she got married and the house felt kind of empty and at first my mom was kinda depressed cause she missed her but now she's getting over it and she's more energetic and more herself. But here's the thing I'm the youngest out of 3 kids and I'm graduating soon and leaving for college and I'm so heartbroken. I'm very close to my mom and I don't wanna leave. I feel like my mom will get depressed and lonely without anyone here. My dad still lives here but he works the WHOLE day so we barely see him. I don't know what to do? I don't want her to get bored. I feel like she'll pass all of her days looking at her phone bored and that breaks my heart. please help me. I'm really heartbroken |
Question: How incredibly rude is this ? Posted: 31 May 2017 10:49 AM PDT I just lost a friend / co-worker to gun violence . He was shot and killed last night . I phoned my mom for support and consolation. My mom stated that she was busy "getting ready to leave home and go to the library." And that she had to go . This is typical of my mom , along with her constant complaining and criticizing other people. My mom sounds like a ***** , right ? |
Question: How do I get my parents to follow through on their promises? Posted: 31 May 2017 10:36 AM PDT I have a laptop for school (we have a desktop but I'm basically not allowed to use it cuz Mom's always on it in the evenings). It's almost dying, the internet goes out at random times, it takes 5min to load a program, the USB outlets don't work, and you have to jiggle the power cord to charge it. They've said for months that they'll get me a new one. We even picked out one! The trouble is they just won't order it. Every time I ask they say "we'll do it tomorrow." Well, tomorrow rolls around and, "we'll do it tomorrow." And if I ask too often I get yelled at for nagging. Is there any way I can get them to actually follow through? I'm not allowed to have a job so I certainly can't afford this on my own. I'm not asking for anything fancy, just something I can do research on and write papers and such. A lot of my schoolwork requires an internet connection, and if I try to use our desktop Mom's always yelling at me to hurry up so she can play her games. And of course they probably wouldn't want me to go to the library to work cuz I have to be home for dinner and available in the evenings and they don't like me going out without an adult right there. They have plenty of money, Dad works a good government job and they order way more expensive stuff just in shoes for Mom. They do this with stuff that's not money too - like they'll buy me pants that need hemming and then it'll take months to get anyone to actually look at the pants. I feel like it's just when it comes to my stuff "whenever" is ok unless something's actually falling apart. Like they'll probably wait until my current laptop is completely dead and then order me a new one. I should also add I don't have money because I'm supposed to be "focusing on my schoolwork", which means I'm not allowed to have a job or do anything to earn money past the $20 a week I get in allowance. They take the line that since Dad makes good money there's no need for me to work. I mean, I do play games on my laptop, but I need a laptop for school. Which is something I think my parents don't quite get, they seem to think most everything should still be done on paper and I only need a computer for a little bit. I'm not allowed to have a part-time job and I'm expected to be at home every evening after school, so I can't really earn money. My parents think if I work it'll distract me from school so they said I'm not allowed. |
Question: 23 and living at home, my mom got pissed I went out? Posted: 31 May 2017 10:31 AM PDT I'm 23 and at school. I moved in for summer the other day. I got scared about my mom getting mad about me going out. I haven't lost my keys in years. I went out the other night and took out my keys when I was drunk solely because I got worried about my mom getting mad (I never do this). I also always go out at school. So she got engaged and moved in to a new place. Since visiting, she has been making my life hell. After I lost my keys, I went and visited my friend after work. She is doing a lot and called my friend a fat loser. She wanted me home by 10:30 pm, and I asked if I can be home by 12 am. This started a whole screaming thing, so I specifically slept over at my friends place. When I came back home, my mom said I smelled like drugs and looked like a working girl. I SPENT MY OWN MONEY TO GO OUT. I'M DONE WITH COLLEGE IN DECEMBER she took my phone, would not let me in the house in the morning i stayed out later to prove a point that she is being ridiculous, when my friends heard her on the phone they said it was the craziest thing they ever heard and she would call child protective services I went out on my own money, I think my mom thinks because I live in the house she can be inflexible. I need to set some boundaries, it's reasonable for me to be out past 10:30 |
Question: My parents are getting divorced and I'm acting like a child instead of an adult? Posted: 31 May 2017 09:28 AM PDT I'm a 20 years old guy on the autism spectrum and suffer from psychotic depression. My parents are getting divorced and I'm reacting like a young child instead of an adult. My mother is an evil person, she was way too strict with me as a child and I didn't develop socially as a result, then a few months ago she started allowing me to eat only one meal a day (I'm 5' 10" and 180 lbs, with big bones and the doctor said I was fine, but she called me fat constantly) and it took a huge toll on my body. She announced a few months after starting to restrict my eating that her and my father are getting divorced, I later found out that she stole 45k from him before she kicked me and him out, while keeping my brother with her. I hide in my room in the apartment I live in with my father pretty much constantly except to go to work and school, because my father is always drinking when he's not at work and he likes to verbally attack me over anything he can. He says I act like a young child instead of an adult, because I'm upset over their divorce. I feel like I have no one. My girlfriend hates me, as does my entire family. Should I not be upset that my parents are getting divorced because I'm 20 years old? I honestly hate myself because of them. |
Question: Should I talk to my 7-year-old son about masturbation and sex? Posted: 31 May 2017 09:22 AM PDT I was at home walking to my bedroom, when I saw my 7-year-old son in the hallway peeking into his older brother's bedroom door. I went over to him and asked him what he was looking at, so I peeked in through the door myself and saw that my 16-year-old son was naked on his bed while masturbating. He must've forgotten to lock his door. I told my younger boy that we should go and give his brother some privacy. I didn't explain anything to my son, and thought that he would just forget about it. A few days later, he came up to me and started asking questions about what he saw his older brother doing. So I figured should I talk to my son about what masturbation and sex is? |

Question: Girlfriend is moving? Posted: 31 May 2017 09:09 AM PDT My girlfriend is moving about 4 hours from me.. We been having some issues for a while, and I don't know what to do. (She has been planning on moving for the past 2 years) I'm a little worried about us now because it's a new life for her. She spent a weekend up there, and was so busy she hardly for to talk to me. She has a lot of family there, and they all took her out to the bars, and the beach, had a camp fire. All one weekend. In the summer everyone always get together and does things plus she is going to be living on her own for 8 months before her parents join her. What do I do? I can't move there right away |
Posted: 31 May 2017 09:04 AM PDT My older brother is being deployed in a few months which means he will have to move and I'm honestly excited only because he can be an a**hole to me doesn't respect me and he expects me to respect him but respect is earned not given I used to be nice to him but he always took that for granted and he never cleans up after himself. I live under my moms roof so I couldn't kick him out would have a long time ago the reason she's letting him stay is because so she can see his kid I don't have the same type of feelings as her. |
Question: I need some advice about letting my baby be seen by my mother in law who is a drug addict? Posted: 31 May 2017 08:43 AM PDT Before my baby turned 1 month old we found out my boyfriend's mom was smoking cocaine on a cigg in the bathroom. His dad kicked her out because he found out and she went on a binge and overdrew the bank account they had together. I've been with my boyfriend 4 years now and I have seen this happen a few times where she gets good but then goes back. But this time we have a baby and finding out she was getting high in the same house as my baby makes me upset. The mom is now living with her parents and at first I told my boyfriend his mom can see the baby but with me there, not alone. I know she hated it. And then after his das recently told me she looks worse and that she refuses to pay the bank back abd that she isnt trying to get better I texted her and told her she can't see my baby till she gets her life together. Now at the time it felt right but now I feel like maybe I'm too harsh but idk this is my first baby and I'm protecting her. But today my boyfriend wants to see his grandparents and I know she will be there and I think her and his grandparents are upset with me because of what I did. Half of me thinks ,who cares shes my baby and shes a druggie who did drugs in the same house as my baby. But the other half says, I shouldn't take my baby away from its grandma no matter how much of a mess she is and that I shouldn't judge? But how would I take back what I said, or should I even take it back? |
Question: I think my mom and brother are having an affair? Posted: 31 May 2017 07:31 AM PDT I don't know what to do. My brother has always been physically affectionate with my mom and continues to kiss her on the lips to this day (he's 21 now) - myself and my other brother stopped in middle school at the latest. He constantly comes to the house for lunch and on his days off, but only if my dad isn't there and usually early in the morning when I'm still asleep. (I woke up at 8 this morning and he was here and it seemed like he'd been here for a while). He's always calling her to do favors for him, especially ones that require her to go alone to his apartment and she'll be gone for an unnecessarily long amount of time. This morning, I woke up to the tv on downstairs and heard my brother's and mom's voices followed by a long silence. I tried to peek downstairs to see them, but they are staying out of the way of the stairs. I tried to sneak downstairs, but the dogs barked and gave me away and I heard my mom whisper something like "I think your sister is awake" as if that meant they needed to stop doing something. The thought disgusts me, but it would explain so much about their behavior and I just don't want for my dad to have to stay with her if she is, and I definitely don't want to live in a house with my mom if my brother has constant access to come over. What should I do? This has been making me so anxious for months. |

Question: Is it my destiny to kill my father? Posted: 31 May 2017 06:01 AM PDT I take Thai Kwon Do, and one time I stayed after class with my buddies to practice our moves. During that time, our Asian instructor fell asleep on the couch in the lounge and started sleeptalking, and he said I would have to kill my father. Now, my father is a piece of sh!t who leaves me home alone for weeks on end so he and his mother can go to Vegas, but he's not exactly dangerous. I don't know if I should go through with this now, or if my instructor was referring to sometime in the future, where I'd have to put my dad out of his misery, or something. Does anyone know how I can find out more? |

Question: I messed up sooo bad? Posted: 31 May 2017 05:37 AM PDT Im dating a muslim boyfriend. He also lives with 4 other muslim guys. Right now they are in ramadan and since he doesnt drink or eat he doesnt offer me a drink after i walk in the sun to his house. Anyway... everytime i enter his house i see people praying on the floor. They hardly speak to me. Then they start cooking. Frying to be exact and the smell makes me gag. I go home smell of oil. Plus they r not hygenic. I felt so overwhelmed yesterday i told him im not comfortable here. He said why. I said i wont say cuz ull argue with me. He pressured me and i told him i feel uncomfortable with people all time on floor praying and frying smells.. unhygene etc. I know my mistake to say this but im so overwhelmed everytime i endure all these things. He manipulates me all the time and make me feel down. Now he broke up with me and its all my fault because i shouldnt have hurt him like that. What can i do to fix everything? |
Posted: 31 May 2017 04:56 AM PDT I feel so bad about myself that I can't travel to Wisconsin to see him (I live in Florida) because my Mom says it is not safe to be around him. I am 14 so obviously can't go on my own. All my older siblings from his other marriage get to see him and I don't. I feel so horrible about myself that I am unfaithful to him and yet it is my Mom making the rules. So what do I do? |

Question: How do I get my parents back together? Need answers now...? Posted: 31 May 2017 03:15 AM PDT Since I started school my parents made the decision to split up. Ever since I realised they did I was crying so badly and I still am sad now because of it. I miss my dad as much as I miss school holidays. I have even told communities like the Kids Helpline about it and I forgot their tips, but I know they wont work. My mum yells at me about it because I talk about it a lot in person. If you have any ideas, I will try every idea you give me until I finally get to see my parents living life together again. It's saddening to me missing someone I really love and cant get enough of. But my mother isn't allowing me to see my favourite parent again. I have been hoping this for 2 years now and the only time I get to see my dad is Fridays and the weekends. I need to see him more, even live with him and my mum. I'm just not seeing how parents live together. I need to make a start to getting my life back the way it was before I started school. If you don't know my age, I am 10, turning 11 in July. Please help me, I need just a little touch of parents again. |
Question: Will I ever escape my Daddy issues? Posted: 31 May 2017 12:21 AM PDT My Dad is bipolar, which obviously means he was abusive toward me growing up. People with bipolar are not capable of raising children. Child services should have to be involved anytime a bipolar person has a kid. My Dad slapped me around, banged me into walls, and pulled my hair. He is not a man. He is a monster. Thankfully he got diabetes, which killed his physical health, ending most of the abuse. Today I am 24, and have always sought out father figures. My manager and supervisor at one of my jobs kind of fill the void, but not completely. |

Question: How can I show my parents I'm different from my wh*re twin sister? Posted: 30 May 2017 10:07 PM PDT First of all, I'm 15, my name's Skylar, and I have a twin sister named Paige. Although we're genetically identical, personality wise, we couldn't be more different. I play trumpet in my school's marching band, and Paige is a cheerleader. I've never even kissed a boy, and Paige hooks up with at least 6 guys every month. I could go on and explain how we're totally different, but I think you get the idea. Anyways, last month, Paige was sending nudes to a senior and she forgot to delete them. Then my parents somehow figured out her passcode... They saw everything. Every. Last. Picture. They were mortified. (Personally, I don't get why they were so shocked. They're really awful parents. Paige tells them she's going to the mall with her friends, or she's going to her best friends house, and my parents don't even ask questions. Then some random guy Paige agreed to hook up with would drive to our house, pick Paige up and leave, and my parents wouldn't even look up. (Of course, last year, they DID care so they would "interrogate" her every time she wanted to leave the house and then she blew up on them about "privacy" and how they needed to trust her... Give me a break.)) Anyways, so after they saw the photos and messages, they demanded I unlock my phone and give it to them. So, I did. Since I don't DO anything, they didn't see anything. Then they said that I probably deleted the messages I sent. I mean...what?? I DON'T send that kind of message. I wouldn't. Now they randomly open up our phones so that if "we" sent an inappropriate message, they'd see it before we got the chance to delete it. How crazy is that? We're completely different people; how can my parents not see that? Like AAARGH this is so frustrating. I don't care if Paige feels miserable since she's the idiot who got us in this mess in the first place. I'm innocent, but my parents think otherwise. This is so unfair, and I have no idea how to change their minds. I've tried talking reasonably to them, but they won't listen. I can't keep living like this... I hate to sound like Paige since I'm whining about privacy and trust issues, but the difference is, I'm the one who deserves trust and privacy because I'm not the one who freaking LIED to our parents... What do I do? What do I tell them? |
Question: Excuse to Leave State? Posted: 30 May 2017 09:45 PM PDT In order to meet another person, I have go into a neighboring state of my own. However, doing this can only really be accomplished by driving 50 or so minutes and cross a large toll bridge. I am in high school and currently take my parents car out for large portions of the day already, and also have access to an e-z pass. However, I almost always stay within 20 or so minutes of my home and if not I'd tell my parents. The only issue is that I do not wish to tell my parents that I'm going to be going to drive almost an hour into another state and spent a decent part of the day there. I'd like to know if anyone has any good ideas for excuses as what to tell them. Thank you. |
Question: Should I kick my pregnant sister out? Posted: 30 May 2017 09:34 PM PDT It may sound sound bad but I'm so close to putting her stuff out and changing my locks and letting her live on the streets. It has been one problem after another. I was going to let her stay with my for about a year or two to get her life on track. She refuses to work,go to school, or at least clean up behind herself. I let her use my old car to get to work because I live in the country. The car was about 6 years old and in great condition she refused to keep up with the maintenance and let her boyfriend drive it and he crashed it. So now she can't get to work. She has repeatedly accused me of sleeping with her boyfriend the day she snuck him into my home while I was asleep. She has ran to the store and that day I got off early because I was sick. I walked in the door to see him sitting on my new white couch completely naked. Everyday I come home to have to cook and clean with her arguing with me everyday. She's about to turn 18 in less than a week and I'm planning on kicking her out (just in case you were wondering she lived with my aunt but she was too much for her so she came here). I can't deal with this anymore. What should I do? |
Question: Can we remove our dad from our home/family legally? Posted: 30 May 2017 08:51 PM PDT So my dad is an asshole and he's always been an asshole. He yells and complains all the time and he throws and breaks **** constantly. He also use to hit us (4 children and wife) when we were younger (not beat but hit for stupid reasons. There's an issue. however, a few years ago my dad had a brain tumor surgically removed from his brain. He is now mentally disabled. It is possible that my mom is he permanent "caretaker" (I'm not sure if there is a better term). Can we remove him from our family legally? I think it is also possible my parents are already divorced but have to wait until my youngest brother is 18 years old. I'm not sure it matters due to the fact that no one wants him here. I'm not sure how this would even work. Anyone have any advice? He gets angry about everything. Seriously, today I think he was trying to hit my older sister's cat. So I addressed it to him, but he tried to change the conversation, but I persisted and then he got upset and began to break everything. I can only imagine how many more of these events will happen: when my older sister, younger sister, and I tell him we are atheist;. when I tell him I'm bisexual; tell him I'm aromantic. |
Question: What do I get a deadbeat Dad for Father's Day? Posted: 30 May 2017 08:14 PM PDT My Dad sends me no child support, no affection for my Mom after she left him, and never visits on my birthday (I see him twice a year at my Granny's only). So what do I get this deadbeat Dad for Father's Day? I am 16 and can't wait until I am 18 and can tell him to go **** himself and never speak to him again. |

Posted: 30 May 2017 08:06 PM PDT I saw his wife's nephew who recognized my name and came up to say hi. He said if I was comfortable he'd tell my Dad where I am and I told him not now but I would consider it at a later time. He was apologetic thinking he may have made me uncomfortable and I told him not to worry. My Dad is an alcoholic and his wife's nephew said he still is. However, he is not a mean drunk, just one of those "I love you man" types. He had a bad childhood and I kind of gave him the cold shoulder after my parents divorce since I felt he picked alcohol over us. Now I am 31 and older. However, the nephew said he likely will not admit to being an alcoholic. I have been waiting and waiting for him to acknowledge me and he has not. I last spoke to him in 2002 so 15 years ago. That was when his father, my grandfather, died and he called to tell me. I sent a card and my mother called in flowers in my name for the funeral since I lived too far away to go and that was the last communication. So I know no one here can tell me what to do but curious what to do. The nephew said he won't say anything to him unless I ask him to and the nephew knew me as a kid. |
Question: Why is she stalking me? Posted: 30 May 2017 08:06 PM PDT Long story short. I'm 20 and I have this cousin who's a sociopath(danger to society). She's living aty dad's house and I had to move out bc of her. My dad wasn't defending me. So every time I'd visit. I'd see her stare at me out if the corner of my eye. She listens to all my convos with my dad (she's an ear hustler). Whenever I talk to her dad she huffs and puffs (she's very possessive of him; doesn't have friends really). However, at family gatherings she'll start talking to people near me and when I move she'll eventually go to where I moved and talk to nearby people. She'll even go out of her way to say hi to people I just met at family gatherings-while I'm talking to them. She tells her niece bad things about me and be mean to her if she talks to me. She'll see me get along with certain people and she'll try to befriend them so they won't talk to me. |
Question: Are my parents overreacting about my grades? Posted: 30 May 2017 08:00 PM PDT I'm a 15 year old freshman. I have all A's and B's but one C, and my parents are flipping out. They have very high expectations, and I have ADHD and can never focus in class. I am quite a smart kid but I am very lazy, and have gotten better grades in the past.I keep on slacking off and not doing homework. I ace every test, but I just don't do very much homework, where most of the points are. I have an Xbox One, and I play it a lot. I only play with my friends, and I mainly bought it to be with my friends. My parents say the Xbox is the root of all my problems. It is a day before finals, and they say if i still have the C by the time final grades go up, then they are throwing my Xbox in the trash. I bought it with my own money, and I am worried about both my grades, my Xbox, and my communication with friends over the summer. I have told my parents i can improve on my own many times over, but I can never seem to do it and I get sidetracked easily. Any tips on what I could do to improve my bad work habits, like good study habits and strategies? Also, anything I could do to maybe get my parents to chill the heck out and maybe lower the punishment would help!:) |
Question: Is it bad to not like someone after living with them for 10 years ? Posted: 30 May 2017 07:53 PM PDT So I've been living with my stepdad since I was 6 or 7 and now I'm 19 . My mom and stepdad started dating when I was like 5 but started to live together when I turned 7. My stepdad he was okay at one point before we started living with him. I also have a younger brother who is two years younger then me , but the real point is my stepdad yes he's helped my mom financially and at one point my mom had a job and provided the money she needed to pay bills but also my biological dad voluntarily gave us money and I guess we all know what happens when couple break up. So my stepdad although he's helped us financially he never really tried to gain our respect. We were little kids when we met him but he basically only wanted my mom to give him all the attention.he always acted like a douche thinking that he never had to give us respect but he expects respect from us, I guess in a way he thought we would never grow up and we would stay little. Now I basically can't stand him he acts like he has servants around the house, he works in landscaping but he can't expect everything in his hands . I bet theres women who do more. I don't like him or stand him , I never had a conversation with him or talked about personal things with him. |

Question: How to have a relationship with your MIL? Posted: 30 May 2017 07:49 PM PDT My fiancé and I have been together for almost 7 years. We were 16 and 17 when we got together and we were on and off for about a year when I was 17. His mom and I got along fine until I got pregnant when I was 18. Our twins were born and she seemed to hate me. Our youngest was born a year later and she seemed like she wanted to work things out. I couldn t stand her for the way she talked down about me to him after the birth of our twins so I wouldn t go around her or talk to her. Then a few months ago I called her and told her that I wanted to talk and told her everything I felt about her and how I thought we could fix things. We ve been around each other more in the last few months than we have the whole time I ve known her. But now, I feel more and more like I need and want to talk to her about things. I want to tell her every detail about my life and I don t know why. I guess because I m starting to really trust her and value her opinions of me and what I want out of life. I texted her last night and asked if she would want to get together next week. She said that we could, but how do I tell her that I want her to be interested in my life? Or should I not? How do you talk to your mother in law? What kind of conversations do you have? What do you not talk about? Are there things mother in laws want to know? I want so badly for her to like me and I feel like I m trying way too hard. |

Question: Would you manage to spend a full holiday month with your in-laws? Posted: 30 May 2017 07:31 PM PDT It started alright, after the first week the issues begun, a bulling father in-law, and the constant eyes of my mother in-law observing everything I told to my partner, she will always defend her son and will look at me badly if I spoke my mind. I feel like we hate each other and one month together was just way too much (this was the first time we meet since we live in different continents) |
Posted: 30 May 2017 06:34 PM PDT How do i get them to clean up after themselves? i've tried everything???? they disgust me. i'm never coming home for the summer ever again. i've been telling them for the last 4 year to clean up after themselves because a 19 year old should not have to pick up after some 40-50 year olds. I also clean the litterbox, do the dishes, sweep, vacuum, laundry, you name it. I'm also working on top of taking a summer class. i'm stressed and i'm sorry i went to yahoo answers to vent, i just need some help. |
Question: How do I deal with my guilt? Posted: 30 May 2017 06:28 PM PDT I had surgery this weekend and I just found out my grandma is in the hospital with a very bad virus that's contagious. I am worried that she may not make it. I'm not allowed to visit her since I am more vulnerable to getting the virus. I feel terrible and it's been on my mind since I found out. I'm worried that she may pass and I won't be able to say goodbye. We have a close relationship and she practically raised me. Am I horrible for not going? Should I risk going to the hospital? |
Question: My step dad took my car to get fixed now he wants me to pay him back.? Posted: 30 May 2017 06:13 PM PDT I know I'm 18 & supposed to be an adult now, but I earned & paid for my own car by myself. I didn't ask for him to fix my car, my friend would have done it for free. Now he's making me pay him back the $350 before next week & I barely make enough money for myself. The car was fixed about two weeks ago & it's already having the same problem I'm in debt for right now. In so mad, but I can't even complain 😡 |

Question: Is it bad to be behind at 19 years of age? Posted: 30 May 2017 05:50 PM PDT So I am a 19 year old girl almost 20 in November. I live in a house with my mom , stepdad, and two brothers. I graduated high school in 2016 . I haven't attended college and I'm not planning to because I have no idea in what I want to major in. I've applied to different jobs in the past and haven't gotten any job call except at a frozen yogurt place last August but the manager already hired 3 people before me. I don't really have a license cause I don't have a working car plus I've asked people to let me borrow their car but their car either don't work or have insurance. Most of those people are just acquaintances. Most family live in New York and I live in Georgia. I feel stuck and I have nothing to do other than chores at home.I don't mind helping my mom out at home with dishes, cleaning the bathroom, doing the laundry, but my mom takes advantage of me plus she doesn't work and now my brothers are both home for vacation. |

So, I m asking what should I do to stop them and years from now when they re gone what do I do with them? |
