Question: How do I handle wedding announcements to those who aren't invited? Posted: 18 May 2017 07:08 PM PDT We are having a very small wedding, and a simple reception at a restaurant. Less than 20 total. I want to send out a photo card announcement like the one pictured (this was grabbed from the webpage I want to order them from). Hubs to be said why even bother? Let our great aunts think we're living in sin and give some spice in their life. Then he suggested an even cheaper alternative would be to buy cardstock and just have printed announcements. Either way we go, how soon should we send out the announcements. If we use a wedding photo, I want to get them in the mail the day after at the most. If we go with the printed announcements, I want them to be in the mail the day before so people get them the day of or one to days later? Which is the best way to handle it. |
Posted: 18 May 2017 06:54 PM PDT I have always had these 2 best friends of mine for my entire life. The problem is that both of them want me as their best man in their weddings. To make matters even worse both weddings are on the same day! My friends aren t exactly the best with each other so a double wedding is ruled out. I m afraid of losing either of them as if I attend one wedding I ll miss the other. What should I do?! |

Question: Is he going to propose? Posted: 18 May 2017 03:47 PM PDT So my bf and I are celebrating our 3 year anniversary in a few weeks, and we've been living together for about a year. I really wanted to go on a disney vacation a few months ago for no particular reason, to which he kept telling me we shouldn't be spending our money and that joking that he thinks disney is overpriced, lame and not worth it. About 5 weeks ago he brought up that he's planning on going to disney for our anniversary and has been saving up for months without talking about it with me. He suddenly has been bringing up our future and kids, and has been joking about marriage quite a bit. An example is whenever we'd walk by jewelry stores he'd tell me that he's going to get me a big ring, and I always tell him that I don't care about size but I do hint about color and style so he knows what I like. Every time we see his family, especially his dad, they always joke and hint about proposals and rings. He also has been extremely frugal lately despite telling me that disney is going to be no biggie and that he has plenty of money. He's told me millions of times that we can't spend money in the park, yet he kept mentioning that he wanted to do the caricature drawings (which is pricey), and also which is very out of character for him and random (but a super popular way to propose in the park... like really popular). I don't know. I feel like something has shifted in our relationship and I'm hopeful. I just hope I'm not getting my hopes up for nothing haha. Advice? Anyone know of any signs? (: |

Question: Gift for a super casual wedding where I pay for me own meal? Posted: 18 May 2017 09:36 AM PDT I was invited to a super casual wedding reception, at an inexpensive restaurant, where I will pay for my own meal. What kind of gift to bring to this kind of event? I have never been invited to this type of wedding reception. All weddings I have been to have been very large and formal (and me not paying for the 5-course meal). So in those situations, I give a the bride and groom money. In this case, is a wedding gift even appropriate? And if so, what should it be? I imagine they are not expecting extravagant gifts. This person isn't a close friend...just a friend of a friend. |
Posted: 18 May 2017 09:05 AM PDT I am in the Navy and next week I shove off for nine months. I am planning on getting married immediately upon my return. That wedding hinges on me getting leave following the deployment. While it is standard to get a week or two of leave, it is not guaranteed. I am expecting to get leave, but I could end up working the very next day. For that reason the wedding ceremony is going to have to be very small, and something that can happen on the fly if need be, so the wedding guest list is limited to just our grandparents, parents, siblings and nieces and nephews. Other than the matron of honor, there will not be any friends in attendance. My dad will be my best man. I am however, interested in a bachelor party the night before the wedding, which will also be simple. The wedding will probably be at my fiancée's house, and the bachelor party that I envision will be just a few very close friends, and some relatives in my Dad's backyard grilling steaks. It will be very tame. No strippers, no booze (We're Baptists), and with my Dad acting as the official host, I don't plan on any raunchy jokes or language. I know for most guys (or for me at least) attending a wedding is an ordeal. It's a present you have to buy, a day you have to keep clear and a suit you have to wear. My fiancée said she didn't want a shower because none of her friends will be attending. Does the same thought apply to bachelor parties? |
