Our first date went AMAZING and we both really felt great about it. It was great for a few days but apparently she visited a therapist and then it changed. Today she told me that she didn't think she was ready for a relationship. This made no sense to me since we had gotten so so so close that day. I finally got out of her that it wasn't that she didn't like me but that her sister had been in a bad relationship and that she was worried about the same. She got anxiety thinking about it. However, I am NOT anything like that. After telling her this several times she said she didn't want to talk about it right now and said she was turning off her phone and said goodnight (this was at 6 o clock). This seemed like kind of a break up thing but I can't help but think she still does like me (I certainly still do her) also according to our mutuao friend she said she liked me for about a month before i asked her out. I was raised with the ideology that you always keep your first commitments, no matter what they are, even if something better comes up. I feel really down and upset now. Setting, I've been struggling with depression for a while, and he really used to help me out. Then he got this girlfriend who I don't like. I never said that to either of them. but she's been the "hit it and quit it" type to several guys. I didn't want to see him get hurt. But I was happy to see him happy and hoped it would last. We used to hang out daily, but since he got this girlfriend, we only hang out once every other week. It really hurt my depression a bit, but again I was happy for him. The other day, I was feeling very depressed so I went over to Brock's house and started to play xbox. I started to open up and tell him I was struggling, he said: "Dude, just STOP TALKING." I said: "I'm sorry, what?" "You are STILL struggling with this? Get over it. I have this girl now, honestly I don't need this anymore. If you can't get over this I don't think we should hang out. It'll give me and Quinncy more time anyway." That killed. Fast forward to today. She dumped him last night, heartlessly. He texted me all day and said he needs to talk, needs me, he's depressed, and the like. I told him to come over in an hour (he'll be here in an hour). In my head, I want to fully forgive him for what he said/did and help. But I'm still mad at him inside. I know that's not right. But when I was extremely vulnerable, he kicked me to the curb. How can I let go of this anger? Meaning, I want to let go of the anger, help him get through this breakup, and be friends again. That's what I want deep down. I'm unemployed, there are various reasons for this that I won't go into, but the problem is that I can't go into work just yet as I've no references or recent work history here - I'm currently working five different voluntary roles but it'll take time to find a suitable job, short-term I may be able to take a minimum wage part-time job. In the past I've been unemployed while in relationships but that was in established long-term relationships rather than starting out, but I did recently date a guy - he knew I was unemployed and it'd take time to find a job but he didn't know the full details of how bad things are, it was awkward to try to avoid the subject. I've dated guys who've been unemployed too. But most people would prefer their partners to be employed. I think the issue is it really restricts what we can do on dates, right now I can barely afford to pay bills or eat, but once I'm a little more stable I still want to date as I'm not getting any younger...plus in general everyone wants someone to share their life with!! Only I'm concerned being unemployed would prevent anyone being interested and would just make trying to date someone (with the goal of a relationship) too difficult. |
