Question: I need help with this apology type text im writing. ? Posted: 06 Jan 2020 05:05 PM PST I have a friend who I used to be pretty close with. There was this big thing where we got into a fight, and now they rarely talk to me. When they do talk to me, it's usually something mean. I understand that we aren't really friends anymore, but I want to apologize for anything I did to them. This is the text I am going to send them (I would do it in person, but I rarely see them without other people anymore so I'm texting.): hey, i don't know what happened with us, but i would love to know if i did something so i can apologize. i get it if you don't want to be friends anymore, that's cool, but i just want some closure. thanks. any suggestions would help a lot. :)
Question: Would this reply be victim-blaming after being informed? Posted: 06 Jan 2020 04:59 PM PST An entire grade has lunch at a certain time at school. There's this group of 2-3 boys who harass someone while everyone (including them) walks out of the cafeteria when lunchtime is over to get to their next class. Everytime that group of friends gets a chance, they either shove down this certain quiet girl from behind her & then laugh, taunt her, and/or mimic her. She's not the only introvert they know and not the most normal person. When she tells her mom all about it when she gets home, the mom replies despite being well-aware of her daughter giving one of those boys a taste of his own medicine once a month earlier after he did something mean to her, "Of all the girls, they'd choose you because you'd take it whereas another girl would say something back!" Asserting herself doesn't stop them the next day. They continue to push her down, tease her, or mock her the rest of the year while leaving the cafeteria whenever they get a chance. She refrains from giving a reaction or defends herself to no avail. Would her mother's response, "Of all the girls, they'd choose you because you'd take it whereas another girl would say something back!" be victim-blaming?
Question: Am I reasonably social? Posted: 06 Jan 2020 03:35 PM PST I'm 26, single, live by myself, and work a full time desk job. My job is fine but everyone there is older. Like most employees are in their 30s/40s, married with kids. There are a few people I do talk to and hang with, but its not social social you know. Anyways, regarding weekends, I'd say on average every other weekend I hang with friends. This can range from partying at bars/house parties to maybe just chilling with a friend at their place getting stoned lol. So like I said on average every other weekend I'd say. There are 10 people I'd say I talk/text to on a daily basis. This doesn't include coworkers/family members. Would you say I'm reasonably social for my age?

Question: Where’s a good place to meet new friends? Posted: 06 Jan 2020 02:38 PM PST I'm 23, female. I'm super shy in person. I'm getting my GED right now, so I'm not in college. I just have nobody besides family. I'm so lonely. I'm also scared to be myself in my personal life because those around me are against my "lifestyle choice" of being gay. Somebody help me please?
Question: Why is it difficult for me to make friends? ? Posted: 06 Jan 2020 01:31 PM PST I work in a factory and have been in my current job for almost two years. I am cordial to my coworkers and am close-ish with a few but that's it. Most people on my line chit chat with each other and go out of their way to talk to others but not me. I stay to myself. I know I'm socially awkward so that's part of it. My line of coworkers are sarcastic, quick witted and they all seem to have fun with each other but I feel left out. I know I'm different and I feel like everyone notices that. How can I get over my social awkwardness?
Question: Friends found my secret insta what do I do? ? Posted: 06 Jan 2020 01:29 PM PST I made a secret insta a while ago and I posted like not the most appropriate pictures. I've had this account for a lot of months now. And I don't know why but I never made it private but I blocked all my friends off it so no one could find it. Recently my friends(2 sisters) found it when they were on some other account. And it was really embarrassing and I quickly deleted it. But now the vibes just off and they're making fun of it but it's just not the same anymore. I don't know what to do. I told them the account was a joke but they were just weirded out. They also took screenshots of the chat and are telling their own friends and it's just so Embarrassing *account
Question: Should I even bother? ? Posted: 06 Jan 2020 11:28 AM PST I'm thinking of hosting a Super Bowl party for some friends of mine. I've done a good bit of reflecting and I've come to the conclusion that I am always inviting friends over, asking them to hang out and not ONCE has it been reciprocated. My friends go out with other friends and never once have offered me an invite to join. I'm semi new to town I've been here about a year and I'm very very far away from all of my family and friends. I'm really considering not having a party because I feel like it's never reciprocated. What's everyone's thoughts? Am I making a drama out of nothing?

Posted: 06 Jan 2020 03:54 AM PST ok so i gave away my phone and my mom already knew about me giving it away so the next day i give it away my friend sees the phone in my backpack at school so shes like "can i have it please ill pay you" and im like no im giving it to my friend. throughout the whole day shes begging me for the phone, so near the end i finally give up and give the phone to her.. bad idea... at dismissal i see the girl i promise to give the phone to and then my other friend who i gave the phone to (lets call the girl i promised j, and the girl i gave it to m) j is like "give me the phone" to m and shes like "no." so after arguing m finally gives the phone to j and at the end of the day m is like "give me the phone or im not your friend anymore" so i just ignore it and she follows me home.. also i live in the same neighborhood as j so we go over to her house and m is like "can vesi (ME) have the phone back because her mom said she needs to give it to her cousin" which is a lie.. so we get the phone back, i forgot to add that m said shes giving it to her brother.. she lied about that too.. so we reset the phone, yadda ya, and then i get home and my mom is like "we've been calling your phone for hours where have you been" im like umm.. i gave it away don't you remember? so shes like "you WHAT?" and she tells everyon e in the family now people are threatening m because m currently has the phone, school is tommorow and i need to get that phone back.. idk what to do tho.
Question: Please tell me if this is being a controlling friend? Posted: 06 Jan 2020 02:36 AM PST I'm 21 and my friends are 18 and 19. I know I shouldn't have, but I bought alcohol a few weeks ago and shared it with them. I got really drunk & was very ashamed. After that I told myself I wouldn't drink recklessly & I wouldn't buy them alcohol anymore. I learned my lesson and only do it occasionally. Now, my 18-year-old friend thinks I'm being controlling by not buying it, even though she can ask someone else to do it. While my 19-year-old friend has accepted it, the 18-year-old doesn't and she continues to argue with me. Just now she asked why I had a shot last night at my friends' house despite not wanting to buy alcohol, and I said "I just did. No one got drunk and it was just one." Plus the friend I took shots with is 27 and very responsible, as were the other two friends I was with. The 18 year old wasn't there. I told her to respect my wishes and that I wouldn't buy them any alcohol period. I stood my ground, only for her to call me controlling. That upset me. I'm not a controlling friend, in truth (I haven't told her this yet) I'm afraid of something happening while they are drunk because that will fall back onto me for buying it. have also never given her crap for anything she refused to do, as long as it wasn't going to cause harm I never opposed her decisions. Yet she's furious I refuse to buy her alcohol. With this information, am I being a controlling friend? She is my best friend and I really care about her, which is why in my mind I'm looking out for her.
Question: Why do my ex-colleagues act like this.? Posted: 05 Jan 2020 11:26 PM PST I worked at this coffeehouse two years ago. Went there today to get something to drink, and the people there acted like they don't even know me, I worked with these people for months. Is this normal?
Question: How can I get rid of this friend? Posted: 05 Jan 2020 11:02 PM PST I'm a 21 year old guy. I became friends with a 48 year old woman in the fall. She is a customer at this grocery store I work at and we friended each other on social media when we discovered we had a mutual friend. Here's the thing. It started out with her texting me, and coming into my store more often. But now she is full blown dependent on me revealing how abusive her boyfriend is and basically bullying me into being friends with her, taking her to lunch, etc. I don't want this freaking lady on my life and I certainly don't want to buy her lunch!! She is basically stalking me and clearly not alright in the head. How can I get rid of her in a way that she won't key my car or hurt me?? I've discovered she is dangerous, into drugs, and obsessed with me. She knows where I work, what car I drive, etc. I'm honestly afraid of her. She calls me and cries, etc. I care for her and did become friends with her. But I've had enough. She needs to go.
Question: Should I keep her as a friend? Posted: 05 Jan 2020 08:51 PM PST I ve been friends with this person for going on four years. They don t have really any other friends because they are homeschooled. She went to school briefly and while she was there she was rudish to other kids and overly sarcastic. We argue a lot. Our personalities do not match. If I ever try to speak my mind she says "okay okay okay" and doesn t let me speak. Recently, we got into a disagreement about money that I owe her. For a while I was low on money. (I m still a teenager btw) We went to a store and I didn t have money with me. It was a buy one get one free sale. She ended up spending $52 total on her items and mine were free. So, I m paying her back $25. Now, she is going on a ski trip and I'm mailing her the money. I only have checks right now from Christmas. I told her that I can't mail it by tomorrow (Like she asked,) because I don't have time to cash the checks. Then she accused me about lying about the money and that I have enough cash to pay her back. I have $10 right now. Then she said "You know what? Just drop it. Don't pay me back!" Which I declined and said I need to pay her back. Then I said I don't have to talk to her again, but I need to pay her the money. Then she tried to fix everything and said "okay okay" and made a joke because she is very clingy. I really want to drop her but I have such great memories with her. What should I do?

Question: What are some things you say to people who have lost a Loved one? Posted: 05 Jan 2020 06:59 PM PST I hardly know what to say besides sorry for your loss, they're in a better place, and remind them to join the living. My son passed away and it gets hard around the holidays even thirteen years later. I know there are others who feel the same as I have.
