Question: What would you do if your family always steals from you? Posted: 31 Jan 2020 02:36 PM PST I don't have much but they continue to steal from me. My sister who has only a highschool education is the worst of the bunch but they all steal from me so I don't know if there's any relation. My son says they continue to do things because I don't give them consequences. I confronted them only sometimes especially the worst one and she said you didn't see me take it so it's mine. Can you believe that? My mother God rest her soul used to tell me she Loves me but she said she doesn't say that to them those people. I was always confused about what she said. What do you think should I write them off. |
Question: How can I convince my friend to move in with his family? Posted: 31 Jan 2020 02:25 PM PST I have a friend who's about to be homeless and living in hotels, he got eviction notice and didn't find a place in time. His sister and mom keep telling him to move in with them (they only live 1 hour away). He's being stubborn and I keep telling him it's best to move in with your family temporarily until you can find a new place. He doesn't seem to want help. |
Question: Is it mean to unfollow my cousin on Instagram? Posted: 31 Jan 2020 11:26 AM PST Every single day she posts stupid videos of her 1 year old doing nothing as if it's amazing and I'm sick of seeing them. |
Question: Uncle, aunt, grandpa, grandma ? Posted: 31 Jan 2020 11:12 AM PST So I know this might be a stupid question, however I don't know it. So me and my wife out pregnant. I want to tell my aunt and uncle, I want to do it in a funny way. Like talk to them and say "how you doing today grandpa etc" hint little things like that. However I'm unsure if that does make him a grandpa. Is he just still uncle? |
Posted: 31 Jan 2020 11:01 AM PST My parents divorced 13 years ago. My dad had full custody of all three of us. Two daughters(now 26 and 24) and only son(now 18). He never petitioned for child support believing my mom would help. She never did and now I want to know if I can go to court for the money that my brother is owed since my dad is too passive to do it. |
Question: Am I asking for too much? Posted: 31 Jan 2020 10:04 AM PST I've mentioned this in the past. I just want someone to help me understand this. Several years ago my step-son had a baby by a girl. The first time I saw her I had a feeling she was going to be trouble and she's lived up to every bit of that statement. Step-son lived with us at the time and when she had the little girl my wife and I and my mother-in-law went to the hospital to meet our new grand / great-grandbaby. The mother hardly said 2 words to us the whole time. Step-son and her have a rocky relationship. They are no longer a couple and since the baby was born in 2018 we've seen her all of maybe 4 times. The momma said that she doesn't know us well enough to let her child come to our house for a visit. She'll bring her and stay with her but to get her for the day to give her a break or even an overnight visit is out of the question. The mom has another son by some other guy and when my step-son asked if he could come get his daughter for a while she said that she doesn't like splitting up her kids so he'd have to take her other son too. Needless to say my step-son didn't get his daughter. Well, she finally did bring her to our house Christmas day for about an hour so we could exchange gifts. We haven't heard from her since then. Like I said, the mom is saying that she is not comfortable letting her daughter, our granddaughter, come to our house because she doesn't know us well enough. This morning I reached out to her just being nice and asking if it would be okay if in the next few weeks we could come pick up our granddaughter one sunday morning and just take her to church with us. Her reply was, "I'll really have to think about it." No, we don't have any rights to this child but am I wrong to think that if you have a baby by a guy his family is going to want to bond with the child on some level. If you keep saying no then how is that supposed to happen? You have a baby by a guy but refuse to let him see her because you don't know his family well enough. |
Question: How do I get a registered car that isn't mine out of my name? Posted: 31 Jan 2020 08:07 AM PST When my baby's father was staying with me I had put his car in my name. (Which is actually mine because it's in my name) but he use to drive it to his baby's mom house and she told me that they had sex in it 3 times that same night. So, my question is, how do I get the car out of my name? He, my baby's father, has warrants and tickets he owes and I want the car out of my name. |
Posted: 31 Jan 2020 07:26 AM PST For the first time, my fiancé and I got both our families together for a get together. It was at my fathers house, and I was hoping it went well. His family included his single mother, younger brother and sister. My family is very large compared to his. His younger sister I'm not fond of, she's just rude and mean just to be. I've been nothing but loving and giving to her but she chooses to be a complete *****. My fiancé has been by my side and knows her behavior it's stupid and immature. She told me I'm the reason her brother and her don't have a relationship. I just can't stand the girl anymore. Come to the get together my fiancé is very close to my family. Including my one sister, who's around the same age as his sister (20). In my family it's normal for us to greet each other and hug. Lots of love and affection is shown in my family. When his sister saw my sister hugging my fiancé open arms full of excitement like everyone else, she had the dirtiest stinkiest face and attitude. She sat there like she didn't wanna be there. She kept asking her mom if they could leave, after not even an hour. It's like she couldn't stand seeing everyone happy and loving around each other, especially her seeing my family around my soon to be husband? This girl wants to have anything bad to say about me yet sees the loving family I'm coming from and her brothers being loved by too. Why does she have such a huge issue? |
Question: How to live with being a mistake? Posted: 31 Jan 2020 06:10 AM PST My mom was forcefully married to my dad at 18 and my dad was 29. My mom told me that she had to go to therapy after he raped her day and night with no sympathy. She got pregnant and left for another country. Here I am 15 years later far away with my mom who is 35. |
Question: Am I an Aunt to them too? Posted: 31 Jan 2020 05:05 AM PST my sister is newly married to her now husband. He has a nephew and niece. I know they call my sister aunt automatically. But does that mean they call me aunt also? What do they call me if not? |
Question: My dad needs cash for my birthday trip? Posted: 31 Jan 2020 04:43 AM PST I'm 27 and my birthday is coming up. My husband and I are traveling out of state for my birthday. I told my dad and he really wanted to join. My husband and I didn't have an issue with that. My husband and father are close. So, I bought the flight and hotel for my dad. He told me that he can get together money for the trip for spending cash. He just texted me an hour ago telling me that he's excited about the trip but he doesn't have any cash for spending. I guess I got sad. My dad doesn't work. Why? He's never been into working since my mom used to pay for everything until they separated. Anyways, I don't know what to do about this. I really wanted to take my dad since I know he is dying to experience this state. |
Question: How should one react to this or suggest a good befitting reply in the following scenarios? Posted: 31 Jan 2020 04:32 AM PST Scenario 1: I have this rich aunt (mom's cousin) who has reputation of being very arrogant and rude in the family. For many years she has been really cool with me despite having a difficult personality, but recently she has been talking very rudely with me.She is very good at defending herself, she would snap at little things. Whenever she would be confronted by anyone in the family(specially men ) to behave herself even in a polite manner, she would get hyper and belittle them by saying STOP BEING SO SENSITIVE I WASN'T LOUD YOU'RE BEING SENSITIVE OR WHAT'S BIG DEAL and has habit of playing women card if she is hard time defending herself .she would tell other ladies(her sycophants) that he is such pussy(even if the man is older) so next time no one dares to confront her embarrassing them in front of everybody. Very few individuals have managed to shut her up but they are very few How you would have dealt with the above scenario? Scenario 2: She would always brag about how rich she is and would always praise her father's side of the family by saying Example: We are smiths we do so much charity or we are smiths we all are educated blah blah and would degrade other family members like you re Johnson's you don't have class or you family members aren't very educated like us so shut up. And how should someone reply or react when someone degrades your family like the second scenario? |
Posted: 31 Jan 2020 04:05 AM PST I had a lot of fun three years ago there but that was when my Mom was with me. My Mom is away like most years so I won't get asked. I do not feel right saying "can I come" but I likely will be seeing her at a funeral for a neighbor she also knows on Saturday so wondering how I can finagle the invite. She has her kids, grandkids, and if they are in town her brother and his son. I know it is family but my parents have said over the years not to actually say "can I come to your party" even to family. When I was younger I used to do that. |
Question: Teachers- dealing w/worst family ever? Posted: 31 Jan 2020 03:49 AM PST This is the first confrontational family I've come across in all my years of teaching. Now I'm questioning myself.... I teach kindergarten and this child is my oldest, 5.9 and is by far my youngest. His parents totally baby him, he has no fine motor skills, often gets strep so has many quirks associated with strep (grunting, twitching) and yesterday he told me he didn't have to listen or follow directions because he doesn't have to at home. The parents say my expectations are too high and I should back off and just let him play. How do I handle them? He goes home and "tattles" on me for telling him to stop being silly and that I call on him to refocus. Am I wrong here?? |
Question: How to NOT smell like smoke? Posted: 31 Jan 2020 03:17 AM PST My dad is a smoker and I am 14. My boyfriend has asthma and also hates the smell of smoke. I also HATE the smell of smoke. Plus, every time my dad smokes in the same room as me while I'm sleeping, I wake up with my throat hurting SO BAD!! And I always smell like smoke because of my dad. No matter HOW MUCH I SHOWER (I shower daily) and my dad refuses to go outside when he smokes. I nicely ask him and he says, "my house, my rules." I don't want to get lung cancer. He goes through multiple packs of cigarettes a day. I am scared for his and my health. I am also scared my boyfriend will break up with me because of him smoking. Please help! |
Question: I have a problem with the living arrangements with my sister? Posted: 30 Jan 2020 11:15 PM PST Okay. My sister has been sleeping in the living room for years now. The problem with that however, is she can be very controlling with her sleeping schedule/ situation and I pretty much hate the sleeping arrangement. She sleeps in early, and takes a nap throughout half of the day and those times you can't be in the living room and when you do, it's awkward because she's sleeping nearby so you can't hang around much in the living room like how I want too sometimes. She has a problem if me and my mother talk or sing in the living room, whenever we eat we have to be careful how to chew our food near her because she would either make "ugh" every time you eat. She doesn't pass 10 pm to go to bed and sometimes I would like to hang around the living room for a little while longer. I like to wind up by watching tv. I honestly, rather do homework in the living room. I'm also tired of being too much coop up in my room and when I tell her that her only excuse is "well at least you have a room" and makes me feel guilty by asking to stay in the living room a little while longer that I don't respect her wishes and I am selfish. She doesn't work, she doesn't pay the rent of the house I don't think she has much of a right just because she's sleeping in the living room. I use to sleep in the living room and I wasn't that demanding as her. When i ask her to switch sleeping situation she deny me and told me "if I sleep in your room i won't be able to control you or mother" what to do? |
Question: What do I do about my Mother in law?? ? Posted: 30 Jan 2020 11:12 PM PST My mother in law hates me, I currently live with her while my husband is off because of the military, I'm currently 7months pregnant. She's always telling me I'm not good enough for him, that I'm not good enough to have this baby, she gets drunk and threatens to "take that baby and never give her back to you!" I used to look up to this woman and I used to love her to death, but the moment I married her son she changed. Tonight after I got home from work (I work 40+ hrs a week because she complained I was lazy) she called me a fat whale, I already struggle with eating like I should and the shaming isn't helping, it's gotten to the point where I'm suicidal and I having bad anxiety. My husband can only do so much and I've stop telling him because it stresses him out and he doesn't need it.. but either do I or my baby... we cant move out.. I've tried speaking to her and I've tried defending myself. Nothing works.. she's so bad to me now that I no longer want my baby anywhere around her but I live with her and that's unavoidable, I'm scared she'll try to take over, she already tells my dog (who I've had 6 years ) "come to mommy!" Which bothers me.. please give me advice... |
Question: How do you respond when someone tells you about their woes? Posted: 30 Jan 2020 09:24 PM PST my sister is a negative person and likes to talk about her problems in conversations. i don't know how to respond when she tells me her kids are sick or she's having money problems, apart from "oh.." or something lame. there's really nothing i can do about them, so i can't offer real solutions, just sympathy but idk what to say. any ideas for appropriate responses? |
Posted: 30 Jan 2020 08:02 PM PST He lied and broke the promise to go. On top of that he did it because he said he couldn't travel this winter because of multiple obligations but this weekend he is travelling with some friends he isn't even close friends with and in three weeks he and my step-mother are going to Washington, DC for three days where my step-mother's sister lives. Plus the weekend we would have been going he noted he might be away with my step-mother at their countryside house. So obviously he was not unable to travel as the ski trip to Oregon would have just been 4 days, not a whole week. So this was another lie of his long litany of chronic lies. He is an arrogant puss. So I am wondering would I feel better if I fibbed to him often like a little kid since his hurtful ways are making me bitter towards him? I never show it and just mention it on places like this. Wondering if fibbing to him would make me feel better. I am not going to to hurtful lies like he does through his arrogance but rather just fibs. Would I feel better? Rob: I should |
Question: How discouraging...? Posted: 30 Jan 2020 08:01 PM PST So I've been studying for nursing for about 3 months now and I'm always so fascinated and learning new things every time I go to class. When I come back home I usually like to tell my parents what I've learned bc it's just like wow. Today we learned about pregnancy and things like that and while I was talking out of nowhere my mom goes "just shut up you will never know the pain till you have your own kids" and I replied by saying "what if I don't want any kids?" And she just told me to shut up and we'll see. Literally she told me that out of nowhere while I was telling my dad about how the baby develops like?? I just wanted to share my knowledge that I learned at school with them. My dad was amazed about it too but I stopped when my mother told me to just shut up. That little thing discouraged me so much. Instead of a "wow mija that's great" or her telling me about her experience but she straight up told me to shut up. Now things like "why am I studying for? Or What's the point" is roaming in my head. |
Question: Why does my family verbally, physically, and emotionally abuse me everyday? Posted: 30 Jan 2020 07:15 PM PST They all gang up on me. They yell at me. Call me ugly, stupid, weird, annoying. Tell me to kill myself. Say I need to be locked in a mental institution. Harass me. Threaten me. Assault me. They have been doing this to me ever since I was born. |
Question: Does my mom hate me? Posted: 30 Jan 2020 07:05 PM PST She yells at me for everything. She never yells at my siblings. She never gets me anything. She gets my siblings whatever they want. She let me be isolated for years. She never make sure I eat or shower. She never enrolled me in school or took me to the doctor. She would never do that to my siblings. |
Question: My sister allowed her child to stay in the house for 10 years? Posted: 30 Jan 2020 06:58 PM PST She doesn't make sure she eats or showers. She never enrolled her in school or took her to the doctor. NOTHING! |

Question: Should I be aloud to have my boyfriend in my room? Posted: 30 Jan 2020 06:41 PM PST Im 15 and Im still not aloud to have my friends that are guys or boyfriends in my room. Even if there are more than two people In the room they only allow it if my sisters in there with me and they still get mad about it. They make me sit in the living room in front of my whole family, I want to have conversations without them hearing me. My dad acts weird if front of guys and looks at me different when I'm around them. All my friends can have guys in their room and they have good relationships. Question: Help! I Found Out My 13 Year Old Brother Has Been Smoking Weed.? Posted: 30 Jan 2020 06:09 PM PST My 13 Year Old Brother Has Been Smoking For Awhile Now, He Smokes A LOT of Black And Milds And A lot Of Weed. He Left His Remains of a Black and Mild (the box and wrappers) in a bag In my old room and my mom found it and I told her it was him but he made an excuse saying he found it and I guess she believed him. But yesterday he left a bag full of remains of swishers (The Tobacco and the pack it comes in, and black and mild wrappers) in a bag in my room along with the bag his weed came in. I keep not trying to snitch on him but every time I tell him to quit smoking that stuff, he just can't stop. He Smokes Like 4 blacks a day (with is equivalent to 2 packs of cigarettes) and around 2 blunts a day. He can't even run 15 feet without getting out of breath and struggling for air. And he coughs like his lungs are FALLING APART it's So NASTY!! But he wants a career in football which I know won't happen if he keeps this up. What I'm saying is that the only way i know he'll quit is if I expose his Secret to our parents. I just need help. Should I Tell and have him hate me for the rest of his life, or let him ruin his life and let him continue smoking? (A few Weeks Ago I Seen Him Smoking A Cigarette Without The Filter On It. Which Is An obvious sign that he's starting on that too.) PLEASE HELP !!!! |
