Question: Why do I hate my life? Posted: 04 Feb 2019 01:34 PM PST I'm 30 years old. My mom got upset at me for leaving a couple of dirty dishes in the sink. I didn't have time to clean them because I was going to be late on catching my train. I have to walk 15 minutes to catch it. If I missed it, I was going to be late for work as the next train comes one hour later.I told my mom this and she didn't care. She made me wash my dishes and I had to rush to the train stop, almost missing it. My mom always does this to me. How do I get her to stop? |
Question: Any ideas on what to do when on holiday at the beach at my grandparents house? Posted: 04 Feb 2019 11:43 AM PST When i go on holiday, it will be a hot country, around 30+ degrees Celsius during the day and humid during the night. I will be staying at my Grandparents house and they most likely won't have internet but i will, but that's roaming and i won't use it all the time. So i was wondering what i could do there as it can get boring. It's like a small town, with a couple shops, 1 small football pitch, 1 big football pitch, a basketball court and a park with the beach all along the area, and obviously sites where you can hike and adventure like going onto a bridge of wood. I will have a bike and ride around with friends but sometimes it feels as though there's nothing to do, so i was wondering what ideas you people have, such as stuff to do in the morning, midday or night and i do have friends there. Any ideas are appreciated but i don't think i can throw a house party as it's at my grandparent's house and they are always at home when they have family members over for holiday. You could give me ideas of games to do with a twist, like a hide and seek but like there's a twist to it such as you gotta hide in something or whatever? or what to do at the beach at night. By night i mean dark and nothing over 00:30 when other family is over but when it's just me and grandparents, then my curfew is 10 pm. Ideas on what to do? You can suggest stuff that i can do with friends, family or even by myself such as practice football. |

Question: Parents found out I vape...help? Posted: 04 Feb 2019 10:34 AM PST Last night my friends and I were chilling. We all have vapes and use them quite frequently when together. Anyway, I blew a fat cloud as soon as my dad walked in to my room. He came to ask me something. He asked the question then told me to open the window to let all the smoke out.. Later when I was leaving the house he told me to leave all of my "needles and crack pipes" behind. I haven't seen him since and I'm really dressing the confrontation. How should I own up to it? |
Question: My mother in law told my 14 year old she was too ugly to be in her family..? Posted: 04 Feb 2019 10:05 AM PST My In laws came to visit us from Australia over the holidays. My Mother in law has always been difficult towards me but never to our three children. However, I noticed that after they left my middle child has become extremely depressed. She is 14 and kind of at a awkward age. She wears glasses, she is a bit of a book worm and she really hasn't developed yet. She still looks about 10. My oldest daughter is ery opposite. She is a cheerleader and is very popular and social at 16. She had been snapping at my older daughter so I felt maybe this is were her depression had been stemming from. The other day I found her in her room crying I finally asked her what was going on. She said during xmas her and my oldest daughter were with my mother in law shopping. My oldest daughter went into a dressing room to try clothing on. My mother in law told my middle daughter that she needed to start dressing like her older sister and do something with her hair. Then she apparently said according to my daughter, "I really have no idea were you came from, you are far to ugly and plain to be in our blood line." I plan on having an extensive talk with my husband when he comes home from a business trip out of country tomorrow. I also plan on having a really really log talk with my mother in law. My my sweet daughter I do not know what to say or do to make her feel better about this. I mean this was her grandmother. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to say? @Lili..I am not a troll and thanks for your answer. I am curious to what the glaring reasons are. The misspelled words are from typing on phone. Other than that I am not sure what the glaring reasons would be. |
Question: How can I convince my sister to use window locks at night due to a peeping tom? Posted: 04 Feb 2019 09:48 AM PST She lives with her two small children and the 5 year old sleeps in his own room, she called me crying one night as she say a man walking down the street late as she watched tv, next thing you know she saw the shadow and he was kneeling down under the living window heading towards the child bedroom. She lives on the first floor in the front apartment, the front gate prevents entry but the windows can be accessed as they are not gated and have access from the street. I responded by bringing a bat, installing security motion lights, and a motion sensor driveway alert to pick up movement outside her window. Also bought window locks and months later she said she lost them and that the apartment gets hot. She doesn't understand seem to understand that leaving her child in the room alone with no window locks leaves her children and herself Vulnerable to anything as a pepping tom or any bad person can take the screen off and slide the window open for entry. How do I make her understand before something really bad happens? Apartment in Los Angeles mid city. |
Question: Do you get along with your family? Posted: 04 Feb 2019 09:00 AM PST My cousin and his family don't show any "family" and often fight with each other - loudly - I was over for a party recently. He wants to move away from all of them now. |
Question: I'm done. What do I do? Posted: 04 Feb 2019 05:00 AM PST I'm just done, I don't know what to do. My school life is bad, I only have a few good friends. Everyone is fake and this one girl spread so much **** about me. I don't like my house. I pretend I love it. But I really want to run away. It's stressful. I try to keep my grades up but my parents always want me to do chores. They never want me to stop. They also hit me, a lot. In the head and stomach. I get bad headaches and also get really dizzy because of them. They drive me nuts and make me cry. They break me down. One parent does nothing, but he/she yells at us because me and my four sisters "are lazy". He does nothing but watch tv and drink soda. Sure, I love my sisters, but sometimes they get on my nerves to. I don't want to make anyone cry or to be sad because I left them. But I really don't want to be here. What do I do?! thanks. (,: Also, my clothes don't fit me anymore. I try to tell my mom but she just yells at me. She takes my clothes and gives them to the kids because they fit in them now and yells at me because I can't find my own stuff and I wear her stuff that fits me. |
Question: Is it me overreacting? Posted: 04 Feb 2019 02:20 AM PST I was cuddling my dad one morning when I was like 14 or 15 bc at the time we all shared a bed (homeless at the time) and my little brother went to school and I'm older so I dont go till later. Well we didnt have a heater and it was winter, and I'm laying on my belly waiting for the alarm to go off then my dad puts his hand on my back I didnt think much of it... until he went lower and balled his hand into a fist as if he were cold and right where my pants were he kind of put him hand in where it was warm.... and I instantly moved over like I was asleep and he jolted up and turned over..... ever since then i haven't slept in the same bed with him, but i dont know if I'm just overeacting. |
Question: I m having an unreliable mother when it comes to promises and deadlines, what do I do? Posted: 04 Feb 2019 12:13 AM PST First time question asker. It s been a year or so and since this past year these things have happened: I usually don t eat dinner 3 times a week and it s rare that i get more then one meal and atleast a snack a day. We have to scavenge for food most of the nights and "fend for ourselves" as she calls it. We still have food but it s barely around She s been going out a lot and simply hasn t been at home for half of last year She yells at us when we forget to do one thing when we take care of the house on as much as we know (Cleaning clothes, washing dishes, cooking food, taking care of pets, etc.) She refuses to go out and buy food for us to eat most of the time (even though we aren t that poor and she spends time enjoying other things) I asked for a jacket to be designed a year ago, with me basically doing everything for it, all she needed to do was take it to the embroidery 10 mins away to get it all stitched together when i completed it. to this day she s been putting it off and it s been impacting me negatively What do I do? Am I just stuck in this situation? I d prefer not to move into an orphanage and leave all of my friends behind along with possibly splitting up with my sister. Note: I have a younger sister that I have to take care of because of it. I have no means of transport, a license or any means of revenue myself to do these things like buy groceries or get a car and move houses, i don t have any relatives other than her that i can live with. |
Question: How to deal with over controlling parents? Posted: 03 Feb 2019 11:19 PM PST I'm at the point where i'm so emotionally exhausted, I'm going to try to put this the most shortest way possible for both our sakes'. I'm 19 working , graduated high school, & in a happy relationship with my boyfriend for two years. I always had problems with my parents, but regardless i would always feel guilty and i would just listen to whatever they say. My dad is a narcissist & my mom comes from a dysfunctional abusive home. When i was 3 i got molested by my brother, after telling my mom and having her not believe me telling me "that's just how he is." I personally feel that's where my resentment started. I learned to grow up alone regardless of having siblings. Growing up more into my preteens that's where i started to realize all the ****** up **** they put me through. They still support me financially so i follow their home rules. I literally don't party, drink, hoe around, unlike my older sister, always come home before 11. My older sister always tries to get me in trouble, always making remarks about my body, decisions, & even personal life; she's a 25 year old failure who pretends she goes to graduate school! Regardless from that my parents value her opinion so much just because she literally kisses their ***. she told me herself that she enjoys manipulating my parents. From all this bullshit i decided at 17 to see a therapist, and my parents advised me the therapist they use for my brother, i agreed. Fast forward three months, my therapist sexually assaulted me. |
Question: Should I host a party for My brother in law who talks bad behind my back? Posted: 03 Feb 2019 10:08 PM PST Recently I found out brother in law and mother and law talks badly about me behind my back. They was confronted and denied everything even with proof but my husband and I decided to let it go because no one seemed to be being honest so the best thing we can do is drop it but be distant and limit seeing the family because now I don't trust them. My husband of course has forgiven them but I have not so I choose to not go to most events with his family knowing the things they said and think of me. His family is very judgmental. But Anyways, the brother in law is having a Engagement party and the mother in law asked if I can help by creating the games for the party but I decided I do not want to help or even go. I'm happy he's getting married and finding love but I don't have it in me to go out of my way doing anything special for this guy knowing he speaks badly of be. I want to be the bigger person and drop everything, but I've been so kind for so many years and they still talk bad about me. I'm so over it and idc about impressing them or pleasing them anymore. I am still nice and respectful towards them but I lost all trust with the words said to me and about me. I dont know what to do do. |
Question: Is it rude to have all my cousins to my wedding except my one uncle's three kids? Posted: 03 Feb 2019 08:35 PM PST It is not anything against them but I just don't know them. My Mom has two brothers and two sisters. We are close to both her sisters and their kids and her brother and his son. We are not close to the other brother or his 3 kids. I'll have the uncle but is it okay to save money by leaving out the 3 cousins I know little. All live within 30 minutes so travel is not an excuse but this uncle is distant from the family cause of his wife. |
Question: At what age do you consider a guy a man? Posted: 03 Feb 2019 08:18 PM PST I'm talking about a grown man, not some scrawny *** 18 year old. I mean, I'm 22 and I'm pretty fit, but I still don't I'm a man like my dad. Maybe until I reach my 30s? I don't know. I'm just wondering after this guy called me Sir. I'm thinking to myself, why call me sir? Is out of respect (most likely?) or because I look old (which I certainly don't). Anyhow, yeah. I always thought Sir was used for older men / out of respect. |
Question: My parents got mad at me for getting 2 Bs on my report card? Posted: 03 Feb 2019 08:09 PM PST I got a B in both my AP Bio and AP Psych class. I had to show my parents my report card and they got angry at me for getting 2 Bs. I tired explaining to them that these are college like classes but they didn t care. i ve always gotten straight As throughout freshman and sophomore year and they expect me to get those. How do I convince them to not get angry or be mad at me? |
Question: Should I tell my mother her husband is cheating? Posted: 03 Feb 2019 07:52 PM PST So I live with my mother and step father. They've been married almost 20 years. My step father has been in my life pretty much as long as I have been alive. I'm 22. Anyways a lady on Facebook contacted me and all but came out and said she and my father were having an affair. She had no profile picture, and posted few things The posts she did have were promotions of my step fathers business. Quite frankly i think is a fake profile for a real person but idk. Also Thought it was a scam until she began to tell me things that only he could have told her. I don't want to get in between their marriage, however I slightly feel like this needs to be addressed. Should I confront my step father, tell my mother, or stay quiet? **Any other advice you have will also be helpful. |
Question: How should I react to my parents fight? Posted: 03 Feb 2019 07:35 PM PST Today I stayed home with my little sister to take care of her because she was sick while the rest of my family went to church. My parents came home from church they started to fight soon after and it escalated quickly. I was in the kitchen making porridge for my sis but both of my parents began to scream at each other at the top of their lungs cursing in front of my two toddler little half brothers. My dad started to threaten my mom but i didn't interfere because i was terrified and crying but i also trusted that my dad wouldn't do anything stupid. I stood there like doing nothing and then my dad threw a metal spoon at my moms face really hard and it knocked off her bottom teeth and blood poured from her mouth. I was terrified and crying rivers and also confused because i didn't know why they were fighting and my dad never acts this way, he is usually really nice and funny. I'm so confused because it's way out of my dads character to act like this. My dad is actually my stepdad but he treated me and my siblings really kindly. I don't know wat to do because I love my dad but i won't and can't forgive him for disrespecting/abusing my mom and knocking the teeth out of her mouth. They fight almost every month but it never gets out of hand like this. My moms last marriage was really hard for our family because we went through a rlly bad financial time and i don't think we can handle it again especially now with two more kids. What should I/they do? |

Question: I feel so complicated. can someone please help me? Posted: 03 Feb 2019 07:14 PM PST i don't know what to do. ever since the beginning of freshman year, i have been actively altering my voice to sound nicer, because i hate my original voice. it's not because i'm transgender—i'm a cis female but just despise my voice. i sound too masculine, i believe. and at school, it is how i talk on the regular—besides at home, in which i y'all normally. for some reason or other. but today is my birthday, and i had invited a friend over to celebrate. she is a friend from school, so i immediately begin to talk to her in my elevated voice. my grandma gives me surprised looks, and subtly hints questioning why i'm talking like that. a usual response. as the night progresses, we had a wonderful time, but all the while my grandmother was making jabs at my voice. i told her that's how i talk at school. and i do. just now, she confronted me and said what i was doing was wrong and that i am intentionally lying to my friends and teachers. i explained to her why but all she did was tell me i'm on the wrong. am i in the wrong? am i really? i just want to elevate my voice to make myself suitable personally. is that really so wrong?? please help. |
Question: I'm so tired of everyone and everything and I just want to leave, I need advice!? Posted: 03 Feb 2019 06:26 PM PST I work fridays, saturdays and sundays and I go to school the rest of the weeks. I'm taking AP Classes that require a lot of homework and study so after school I'm normally doing homework/studying really late. a lot of times I need to rest especially since I've started getting migraines that very bad that make it hard for me to do things when I have them. My mom yells at me for the smallest things - when I tried to take a nap she yelled at me for being lazy and is always telling me how terrible I am for not doing more chores around the house. My stepdad is one of the rudest people I've met, he yelled at me for walking to heavily, and when he aksed to to bring a plastic plate I had upstairs down, I said I was going to do it in 20 min when I fed the cat (Because I was so tired and I just got off work and I needed to sit down and I also had a few other things to do) He yellled saying "Go do it right now, etc ."My mom told me when I asked her that I could wait to do it as long as I do it today (What I was thinking) And my stepdad started screaming at me to stop being such a drama queen and rude,I get really panicked when he screams because my mom used to tell him whenever she was mad, and he would come to my rooom and scream in my face (He's a very scary guy) and he did that for a long time. These kinds of things have been happening for years. My dad also tell me how much he hates me and doesnt want me but I'd honestly rather live there because thats rare now. Idk what to do I can't get my own place since I'm 16 and everytime I try to leave my mom guilt trips me. I never know if her and my stepdad are staying together since they are constantly fighting and on and off again. My 25 yr old sister and her husband and baby moved in with us and while I love them, they dont help out and my parents pay for everything for them. |
Posted: 03 Feb 2019 06:19 PM PST I get my wife 10 years ago when we were in our early 20 s and to be fair, I ve always known she hates kids and luckily neither of us want to have any of our own. My siblings have since had kids though and I feel an intense pressure by them for us to be an active uncle and aunt. My wife seems to have gotten the memo but doesn t care. She acts cordial, but skips out on their birthdays, school events etc and absolutely will not invite them to our place. She s not good with kids and feels awkward and bored around them. This has caused strain with my sister specifically becuase she feels like my wife doesn t want to be an aunt...which she doesn t and also doesn t care that this bothers my sister. Any advice either way would be great. |
Question: MY MOM TOOK TURNED OFF MY CELLULAR DATA! need advice? Posted: 03 Feb 2019 06:13 PM PST Ok so my mom literally takes my phone away for no reason and this time she decided to turn off my cellular data so basically my iPhone is now works like an iPod. Question: What does he mean by this? Posted: 03 Feb 2019 04:40 PM PST So I've never met my dad, but apparently he has a son, so my half brother, and he reaches out to me over Instagram saying he's my half brother and that I have a nephew. I respond by saying thanks for reaching out, I'm not ready to talk yet but I'll let you know when I am. Then he responded, okay, it wasn't my choice and if it was it would have been different. What does he mean by that??? |
Question: Is this my fault or are people seriously the problem? Posted: 03 Feb 2019 03:46 PM PST I was out with my brother today and he invited one of his friends over to meet with us and to keep note, I don't have a good relationship with my brother at all, he underestimated me my whole life, and people wouldn't talk to him when they found out he's my brother. Like wtf, I had a tough childhood with many insecurities that still prevents me from loving myself and believing myself more. I struggle here and there with friends but man i've come a long way. There are people who love me and people who really don't but im okay with that. My brother makes it seem like it's not okay. I honestly feel like this but i feel so sorry to be in this world, people have made it seem like I'm a big deal and it's mostly people in my city, I've always. I'm not that bad, I'm human and I can't satisfy everyone, but I can say a lot who get to know me end up liking my sense of humor and generous heart. I grew from this torture. my brothers friend drove of as a joke when i went to his car and then my brother freaked out and started cussing at me calling me cringe and that people don't like me and that i'm an embarrassment. Starts talking me down and underestimating me. People look at me as a weak human being and it hurts me, I have a kind heart and feel like i am a mistake sometimes. I know my worth but this universe has been throwing negative ppl left and right at me, ugh man. Keep in mind my brother is fat, gay, and isn't the best good looking, he is rude to other people in public. |

They literally don't care at all about my education |
Question: What would you do if you were me?Does she want to break me down? Posted: 03 Feb 2019 02:44 PM PST Heard my brother's wife said out loud to her son "You're acting like women because you spend much time with your uncle" She even repeated that twice to make sure that I heard her! I can't tell my brother because he hates me and he doesn't care By the way I live with them. |
