Question: My stepfather seems kind of unsafe? Posted: 12 Feb 2019 12:29 PM PST I'm a 12yo girl who's mom died 4y ago and dad has taken the best care of me ever since. He gave me a lot of time, he changed jobs for giving me time, he didn't marry, he helped me through puberty and every other way a dad can help. Last year he told me that I get the highest priority and the fact that he's bisexual and my opinion if he married a guy. Considering all he did, I agreed and before Christmas vac ended, he married this slightly younger man. He was good to me at first but he's always flirty during talks. Dads can be flirty with the intention of helping daughters with future love life but his approach didn't seem very good or fatherly. He keeps being flirtatious to me in an obnoxious way and also touches me on my waist and shoulders, making me uncomfortable. Couple weeks ago some of my girlfriends planned on studying at my home. We've been doing this and stepdad approached some of them. Few days ago, one of them stopped coming and now they keep talking about changing the venue from my place to someone else's. I see there's only days left till rumors break out in school and neighborhood and I might get bullied. I'm sure something is not good about the guy but complaining to dad about him might hurt him, given all he's been doing for me. Also the guy acts peculiarly normal when dad's around. What should I do? |
Posted: 12 Feb 2019 08:12 AM PST So recently I found out my parents are related. I also found out my grandparents from my mother's side are cousins.. Is this a problem? |
Posted: 12 Feb 2019 08:07 AM PST i m 14 and i don t have a job and i feel EXTREMELY bad when i ask my parents for things (btw, i think my parents make about $100,000 a year not tryna brag tho) i ask my parents if they need help with stuff but they always say no it's okay but i still feel super bad about it. i ll ask my dad if i can get something or if i can get something with my own money and he barely says no and sometimes i wish he would because i think about how there s people around the world who don t have the luxuries i do. i also don t whine to get my way, i used to as a child but not anymore. i also have an older brother in college that my parents pay for btw. pls don t just send yes or no in your answers i live in a rural area in pennsylvania, with a population of about 3,000 |
Posted: 12 Feb 2019 06:07 AM PST What do I do? How do I avoid them linking me to this bad friend he had (no longer does) that my parents like? How do I avoid getting linked to my parents by them? Ten years ago this happened and I was banned from their family clan cause I am related to my parents then. I am an adult now, was a teen back then, but still scared this could happen. |
Question: How do I know when my Dad is lying and when he is being truthful? Posted: 12 Feb 2019 06:02 AM PST He is a habitual liar and even wrecked his marriage ten years ago with his repeated lies. To this day he lies to me. |
Question: How do I get my parents to stop restricting what family members I see? Posted: 12 Feb 2019 06:01 AM PST I am 16 and used by them as a pawn in feuding they like to do. |

Question: Help my Stepmom is annyoing me how can I convince her that I need my privacy? Posted: 12 Feb 2019 05:25 AM PST Every time I start using my dildo My stepmom starts beating on my door. It doesn't matter what time it is, she doesn't want my door shut for some reason. She always complans to my dad that a 16 year old girl doesnt need her door shut or privacy. Last night I was having phone sex with my boyfriend and as soon I started using my dildo she started beating on my door she tried to open my door but I had it locked. She demend that I opened the door I had to hang up on my boyfriend and hide my dildo. When I opened the door I lied and told her I was putting on my pajamas. She told me that not to shut and lock my door again because she likes to check on me in the middle of the night because i have asthma. |
Question: Why my dad doesn't take responsibility ? Posted: 12 Feb 2019 01:35 AM PST Like my dad came from abusive family and he tried to hit mom and me but mom threatened to call the authorities. I'm 20 year old now but dad still insults me and he doesn't hit but well he doesn't ask about me or ask about my sister birthday. I had difficult time with dad but I choose to be loving and caring but well why can't dad choose to be a better person? |
Posted: 11 Feb 2019 08:34 PM PST so my older sister always takes pictures of me when she comes and visits me & I really don't like it. here's why. she blocked me on my Snapchat a few months ago (over a little problem we had) we are cool now and she probably thinks I don't know she blocked me on Snapchat and she also thinks it's ok to still post me on her Snapchat WITHOUT my permission. one time she took me a picture off guard and I told her not to post it but she still did it, she told me "it was okay" and that "it didn't matter" so I let it slide and said whatever but she keeps doing it & it's annoying... what should I tell her??? Should I bring up about how rude it is that she's posting pictures of me with out my permission and that she had also blocked me on sc ??? Any advice ? |
Question: What is the name for my non-blood related uncle’s sister’s kids? Posted: 11 Feb 2019 07:16 PM PST Okay so my uncle isn't blood related to me because he is married to my mother's sister. But he has a sister. And she has kids. We visit them quite often, but I don't know what to call them. I usually just call them my cousins, but is that correct? So I'm short, what do I call my uncle's sister's kids? |
Question: Best way to run away from home? Posted: 11 Feb 2019 07:12 PM PST I'm nearly 21 years old and I still live with my parents. I have always been very sheltered from the outside world but still very wise. I have a job and I am currently attending college. I just want some freedom and relaxation, to not exists in a way from my family. I'm tired of being sheltered too much and my parents do not understand that. I do not want to give up college, I just want to know, if I were to run away, what would be the best way possible? Thank you. |

Question: I m 18 and deal with mother-daughter conflict...read description? Posted: 11 Feb 2019 06:41 PM PST I do the majority of cleaning the house, do my own laundry, clean and organize my room, cook, clean after myself, etc. I was homeschooled, graduated early (through my own self-discipline and determination) with awesome grades and GPA of 4.0. Have my license and my own car that I bought with my money, currently making the payments on it as well as paying to put gas in it. I work and have held down a good job for well over a year now. I ve always stayed out of trouble; never done drugs, smoked, DUI, sex, etc. I get along much better with adults than my peers and I rarely hang out with friends, I rarely go out at all other than going to work. A big issue I m dealing with is that my mother absolutely hates the idea of me spending time with my best friend, who is much older than I (this has been going on and off for over 3 years now.) She s not a bad influence or person in general, in fact she s helped me quite a lot. My mom thinks she s the reason our family has problems (absolutely ridiculous if you ask me, as I see no evidence to support it) and has told me if I choose to hang out with her, there will be serious consequences to follow our relationship (me and my mom). Ive tried reasoning with my mom about this but it goes nowhere, she talks right over me and when she does listen, she throws something harsh back at me. I love her dearly, yet I feel I am mature, responsible, and old enough to choose my associates and start my own life. What do you think? Am I being unreasonable? |
Question: Help me help my friend. What should I do? Posted: 11 Feb 2019 06:05 PM PST Warning: mentions of abuse are in this question Please be nice, im just trying to help my friend. My friend and I are both 15 years old. Recently we got high together and she admitted to me that her dad had pulled her off a couch where she was laying by her hair before she had gotten to my house. She showed me and she had bruises all on her arm from a fight she got into with her dad. I told her that that's straight up abuse and she said it was discipline because she was talking back to him. I feel like it's a cultural thing because she's Latina, she's from Brazil. (Latino parents are known to physically discipline children) She told me that it's not big of a deal and that its not abuse because she started the fight. We fell asleep and she forgot she told me all this the next morning, but i know. He's a lot stronger than her and she's never hit him first. My question is, is this abuse? How can I help her? Her dad is a great man, he just has anger issues. Where does discipline become abuse? Thank you for taking your time to answer my question. Please be nice. |

Question: Am I rude for telling my family in my house to shut the hell up? Posted: 11 Feb 2019 05:33 PM PST I live at home and I'm a quiet introvert and don't get along with them. I'm 24 by the way avd cagt afford to move right now. I'm stressed out . Help |

Question: My uncle just died and I don’t field sad. Is that wrong? Posted: 11 Feb 2019 04:47 PM PST We weren't really close but I saw on occasios. I'm not sad Nor I cried ... should I be concern ? |
Posted: 11 Feb 2019 03:11 PM PST It is not a big deal. He is rich off of the criminals he makes excuses for in court (he's a lawyer). It is one of those things we can laugh about and was totally an accident. How do I get the stuck up man to just laugh about it? He is only 53 so not old enough to be a grouch. He's rich so the $800 to fix is like twenty dollars to me and like I say it was totally an accident and he laughed when it happened last summer. It's not like I do it once a week. The Oracle of Omigod -- Good idea, I mean I am a better person then my Dad anyway as my Dad has no soul. Lawyers are good at lying, so is my Dad. Lawyers are arrogant, so is my Dad. My Dad actually has criticized me for not being a liar and says I should develop some arrogance. Well as you can see, I got the arrogance now. Just got to get down the lying part. |
Question: Is it odd that strangers care more about you than your own family? Posted: 11 Feb 2019 03:10 PM PST |
Posted: 11 Feb 2019 03:08 PM PST I saw the previous question and felt I should ask this. What do I do if my Mom has me go somewhere like a sporting event with him (her brother). "Children are very special" he says with a smile. He has never married and has no kids. Yet, he has no abuse accusations against him or anything like that. He kind of reminds me of the singer that got accused of abuse, Michael Jackson. |
Posted: 11 Feb 2019 03:04 PM PST I was at a wedding, and my mom's brother, ran up beside me, and with both his hands, brushed my waist and breasts while turning and moving quickly. Then he stood in front of me and had this weird look on his face. I was shocked and had no words in the moment. My aunts (his sisters) were like, "Come over here before you make a fool of yourself." Wtf? He's like 50. PS: the day before, he kept going on about how youthful I look. How I look like I'm in high school. That's all he had to talk about with me... nothing else. Also, learned that he sexually abused my other uncle when he was a boy. So this is a legit like wtf creepy moment for me. Not something I'm looking for sarcastic answers for. |

Question: My dad hits me. Am I wrong in this situation? Posted: 11 Feb 2019 02:51 PM PST So I'm 16 years old and yesterday I got a beating from my dad. Basically, I told him how irresponsible he is for taking in two dogs because his friends have dogs and he feels left out about it and now he's not taking care of the dogs and make me and my siblings do it and then complain how our dogs are ugly and he wants to get two new one and throw these two out. He got super pissed about it and started whacking me in the heads a couple times about how disrespectful I am. I got so pissed about that I started going off on him about how he's acting like a kid instead of an adult going off partying every day when my grandma was in the hospital while my mom and I was taking care of her, and spending an unreasonable amount of money on stuff he doesn't need (DJ sets, Stereo, etc). He then got a broomstick and demanded me to lay down so he could hit me and my mom agreed that I should do what he says and I refused. He then threw me on the ground and started to kick me while hitting me with the broomsticks and kick the dogs away. After a couple mins of him kicking, throwing me around, and hitting me with the broomsticks, my mom begged him to stop and he didn't. My mom then begged me to say sorry to him so he would stop, but I refused because what I said was true and I don't care what he's doing to me because he needed to hear that since everyone in the house is too scared to tell him that. My mom and sister called me a disappointment and told me I should've said sorry. Now I have some bruising all over my back and butt and some in my arm. My dad is threatening me to not tell anyone about it and my mom is telling me to do what my dad says. |
Posted: 11 Feb 2019 02:38 PM PST He said he was going to the shop and the last time i saw him was 10 years ago |
Question: Why won't my family help me? Posted: 11 Feb 2019 01:30 PM PST My family talks about me because I'm 21, I have no job, I haven't left the house in 9 years, I don't comb my hair, I rarely shower, and I lay in bed all day on my phone. But I've been looking for a job online for a whole year and I finally got a job today. When I told them, they didn't seem happy for me. They didn't take it seriously at all. I could see on their face. "She got a job? Ha, ha. Yeah, right." I don't think they care if I do something. I don't think they care about me at all. They just want to make fun of me. They won't help me do anything. I asked them, but they act like they don't want to help me. Their attitude is like, "Oh well. Do it yourself. I don't care." It's like they want me to have nothing. Especially my sister. I think she hates me. She's always criticized me the most ever since we were kids. I also might try to leave the house soon. I wonder what they're gonna say about that. |
