Posted: 12 Feb 2019 04:09 PM PST I m 29 and socially awkward. I am just now making friends. They are at my job. Anyway I have this one that s older than me by 8-9 yrs. I like her she s cool and easy to talk to. However she doesn t trust my mom and my mom doesn t trust her. But they only met twice. Idk. I love my mom and I like my friend but how do deal with the stress of this. It s too much. |
Question: How do you deal with someone who has suddenly stopped talking to you? Posted: 12 Feb 2019 04:06 PM PST We're not related or friends but they are someone I see regularly. I have noticed they have been pulling back so I have been giving them space. The thing that bothers me is that the roll their eyes when I talk (sometimes we have to), treat me like I'm invisible if I'm around and so on. How do you deal with someone like this when you have to see them regularly? I always try to be polite as that is how I've been raised so I'm not sure how to deal with it. |

Question: My friend depends on me to get around ? Posted: 12 Feb 2019 03:00 PM PST My friend doesn't have a car. She has to catch rides to work. She also has to catch rides getting home. Since March 2018 i have been taking her to work at least once a week. Sometimes more. I also work a full time job and sometimes i have to get up at 4:45 to take her to work and go back home and then get back up at 6 am to take myself to work. Sometimes I'll be so tired that i just give her my car to take herself to work and run her errands and then she'll just bring my car back when she's finished with work and other things etc. but sometime ami don't feel like taking her to work or I'm tired or i want to do other things and i feel bad but it's been almost a year what should i do? She does give me gas money when she can but i don't need the money... it's just tiring taking her around |
Question: My roommate never studies..? Posted: 12 Feb 2019 01:56 PM PST I don't understand! It kind of annoys me that my roommate never does any homework or form of studying. Most of the time she is sleeping because she got too high or she is on her phone 24/7 laughing at some videos or stuffing her face with junk food. Meanwhile, I'm busting my *** off studying and always getting work done and its not fair. She just seems to be living on a vacation and not actually coming to college to learn. |
Question: Don't you wish you've never met her? Posted: 12 Feb 2019 01:20 PM PST Lay him down. Lie on. Lay him down. Now your lover went and put me in the ground. I'll be watching when he's around. Psi, FUCΚ YOU. |
Question: How to figure out why you hate someone? Posted: 12 Feb 2019 12:03 PM PST I have a burning hatred for one of my friends but I don't actually know why I hate him so much. Any advice? How do I go about figuring out why I hate him? |
Question: My friend becomes a sloppy drunken mess every time I hang out with her? Posted: 12 Feb 2019 12:03 PM PST Every time I'm with my friend, she gets too drunk or too high and I have to end up babysitting her. She went to rehab for a month and said she was a lot better, so I gave her one more chance. She texted me on Christmas day if she could drop off a present she got for me, ended up arriving at 10 PM, had one beer, and got completely wasted because she had taken 4 bars of Xanax that day (I did not know this until afterwards and she had brought the beer herself. I kept telling her we shouldn't drink but she insisted and kept saying "don't be such a mom".) Ever since Christmas, I had been ignoring her because I had ENOUGH. There have been several occasions where I had to carry her sloppy *** to bed. She gets mad at me whenever I advise her that we should not drink. She owes me a lot of money that she has completely "forgotten" about. So should I reply to her text and tell her straight up I do not want to hangout with her unless we are sober? Just ignore her? What should I do? We've been friends for about 6 years. |
Posted: 12 Feb 2019 11:35 AM PST Last week my roommate told me that she and her friends were going to come over and drink on Saturday (we have a living room next to our dorm) and I agreed. Then on Saturday, my friend asked if she could sleep over (which meant that she would have to sleep in the living room, because my roommate and I share a room) and I agreed. Then my roommate got mad and said, "I already told you ahead of time that my friends were coming over, and obviously, we'd be using the living room, so why would you agree to let your friend sleep over too?" Then she (my roommate) gets mad at me because I sometimes leave strands of hair in the shower, forget to take out the trash sometimes, leave dirty dishes in the sink. But I've never left dishes in the sink for more than 4 days, so I don't know what her problem is. She also gets mad at me for coming in late, (she has work at 7am). I always tell her that I'll be back by 10:30, but sometimes I lose track of time, and I get back to our dorm way after midnight. She can just buy earplugs if my entrances wake her up, right? |

Question: Why do they talk to me now????? Posted: 12 Feb 2019 10:31 AM PST When i was in high school i had no friends. Nobody really wanted to talk to me, i did have 2 guys who i would talk to but they were nerds and nobody liked them eather. Im 23 now and deep down it makes me depressed that i grew up with NO friends. But sometimes i see other people from high school outside in the street, and they always say HI too me even tho they never talked to me before. They always ask how life is going. Why do they talk to me??????? |
Posted: 12 Feb 2019 10:30 AM PST Person A abd B are college roommates and friends. They got into a heated argument about cleanliness, but cooled down a few hours later. While person A and B were talking about their argument that they had earlier that day, the cops show up to their dorm, asking to speak to person A. Person B thought that A called the cops on them because they were arguing earlier. So, person B asks A why the cops came, and person A says, "I don't know." Person B still thinks the cops were called on them, she they ask person A again the next day, and A days, "I was texting my friends while we were talking, and they called the cops. But I'm not obligated to tell you what I told them." B was upset that A didn't tell the truth about why the cops came. |
Question: Was this sexual harassment by our boss? Posted: 12 Feb 2019 07:25 AM PST I work in a small department of a large company. There are 13 people in my department, mostly women. We have a great male boss. Besides being our boss he is our friend. We all just adore him. He sees that we are well trained and well paid. He will cover for us when we have doctor's appointments or school events for our kids. How many people reading this enjoy going to work each day. We do. We love to joke around with him and he loves for us to do it. One day in a staff meeting one of us jockeying said "Would I get a bigger raise if I wore a mini skirt to wok and showed a lot of cleavage"? Our boss said "no but you would sure make the male employees happy". "I hope you don't do that as you are so beautiful you will distract the male employees from their work". We all had a BIG LAUGH" at that. We were still laughing about this in the employee break room when employees from other departments told us we were receiving sexual harassment from our boss. Do you think we were? |
Question: Is this worth getting upset over at a laundromat ? Posted: 12 Feb 2019 07:15 AM PST My best friend and I went to the laundromat, the person had Tide Sport, I had Tide Downy. We both had our bottles near each other, both had same color and similar looking laundry baskets. I was loading the washing machine I grab which I thought was my Tide and used a cap full of his. Instead of saying excuse me or pardon me you have the wrong bottle. It is like hey what you think you are doing grabbing and using my bottle. I apologized and said you can use a cap of mine. He just stood there for a moment shoke his head and walked off what I can tell is a bad attitude. |
Question: Is this a valid reason for my 10 years friend to get mad at me for? Posted: 12 Feb 2019 05:42 AM PST I suffer from anxiety so my doctor prescribed me antidepressant which is working tremendously. My friend is totally biased because her husband's mother was addicted to antidepressants. People who do not suffer from anxiety will never understand how difficult it is to suffer from it. My friend always keeps telling me not to take it. But if it is working for me why would I stop? Plus I'm only taking 25 ml and it is not addictived as my doctor stated. Last week my friend asked me the name of the medication then called me telling me to stop taking the medication because she did her reserach. I stopped her even before she started because I know she thinks she is doing what is best for me but at the same time she is being totally biased. Of course she is going to find all the side effects online. I told her that anxiety is a disease that sometimes needs to be treated and I am only taking 25 ml. I know I probably said that in an upsetting way but it is because I'm getting frustrated. She is not a doctor. She replies: Ok if you won't let me finish, I'll call you back later" it has been a week and she hasn't even text or anything. We talked everyday and she got mad at me for that? We always say that every time one of us do or say something we are not happy about, we should say it. But look at her now. Not talking to me. 2 weeks ago she even asked me if I wanted her to be my therapist like if she was a doctor. Should I move on and wait for her to reach out? |
Question: Do you ever feel like people wouldn't care to hang out with you unless it benefitted them? Posted: 12 Feb 2019 05:26 AM PST Like for example people only ask you to come out somewhere because they don't want to go alone. If you ever felt like this, did you realize some people aren't good friends and to do better? Do you think sometimes doing better means being alone first to attract better? Sometimes I wonder why I even attract people like this because I sure don't treat others like tag-a-longs :( |
Posted: 12 Feb 2019 04:20 AM PST I'm in high school and my classmates never invite me to their birthday parties, I'm always to omitted, the only person that wasn't invited. I don't understand what is wrong with me, I sometimes think how the world would be without me, my class would probably be the same. I have only one friend in my class yet I feel so alone. What can I do about this? |
Question: What can I do about my annoying roommate? Posted: 12 Feb 2019 03:31 AM PST My roommate has recently started going out (I don't know where) and coming back around midnight - 1am. The issue is, I have to be up for work at 6am, and whenever she comes in that late, it wakes me up. She'll tell me that she'll be back around 10:30, but she actually gets back around 12-1. We've already talked about it many times, talked to our RA about it, even gotten into a fight over it. She suggested that I get a new shift (one that doesn't start at 7am), and I told her that I'M the one paying for my tuition, not my parents, so I NEED to work. I'm honestly thinking about inviting my boyfriend over, and if she walks in, that's on her. But I feel like that's petty. |
Question: I lost a friend, was I wrong in this situation? Posted: 11 Feb 2019 10:59 PM PST So we were hanging out for a few months, I'm 19 & they're 21. I had issues going on and they came over and we're there for me. I genuinely cared about them but one day they texted me asking if I could come by & we could do something because they were going through stuff with their family. I didn't get back to them because I wasn't okay mentally myself, how could I be there for someone when I am not even good myself?! I wasn't being fake, and I told them this, & they blocked me. I have to put myself first &a if someone doesn't like that then that's their problem. What do you think?? |
Question: Should I go through with writing the letter? Posted: 11 Feb 2019 10:39 PM PST A past partner and I ended things pretty badly before he left for boot camp (we had already long stopped talking months before he went to the Marines but had small interactions) We tried becoming friends but I wasn't ready nor felt he was putting any effort into earning back my trust so I cut him out of my life. I don't regret what I did but I feel that he is at a point where he needs a lot of encouragement and I would like to offer that as a friend. I also feel that he doesn't have many friends that will go out of their way to write letters to him. What should I do? I was also thinking about sending the letter anonymously. I just want to offer words of encouragement not establish a friendship as I know we wouldn't be fit for any kind of relationship. Thank you in advance! |

Question: My friend is getting into drugs, what should i do? Posted: 11 Feb 2019 08:12 PM PST hey so i'm 15f and my friend (also 15f) who i've been close with since kindergarden smoked week for the first time and now she's like obsessed and has been wanting to try new drugs and drinks and such. what makes me really concerned is that her older sister was a raging alcoholic and semi-drug addict who just got clean and i know stuff like that can be genetic (addictive genes.) whenever me and another close friend go over she always asks if we can bring weed or alcohol, (just a little background, my other friend and i have smoke and drank before, she's a fan of smoking but i'm not so much, i only do it with close friends when i want to which is like rarely) i'm just nit sure what to do, like i'd love to have fun drinking with her and my other friend but i just don't want to enable her by supplying alc or doing stuff with her, what should i do? i've tried talking to her about it but she gets defensive and is kinda clueless as to what she's potentially setting herself up for. |
Question: How to see friends who’ve I’ve unaddressed on Snapchat? Posted: 11 Feb 2019 06:28 PM PST I accidentally I unadded a friend on Snapchat but there's no way I can get it back because that was the only way we were communitacting? Is there a way to see users who I've unadded so I can add him again?? |
Question: How do I get over this? Posted: 11 Feb 2019 06:27 PM PST So, about 3 and 1/2 years ago when I was still in high school, there was an incident while I was riding the bus that I remember very vividly. This girl, who I didn't know personally but I knew of her ever since we were kids, was going up and down the aisle on the bus, essentially judging people. I was sitting near her so I could hear what she was saying however it looked like I was listening to my music because I had my headphones in. Anyways, once she got to me, I remember her saying verbatim "That girl is so ugly, she looks like a f****** terrorist, her parents could be terrorists for all we know, she's so ugly." I did nothing but listen. No one said anything out of fear that she'd verbally attack them too. This girl, who knew nothing about me was able to, in that very moment, knock the air out of my lungs. Her first impression of me was that I was ugly, and possibly a terrorist. I'm in college now and it's something I can't forget no matter how hard I try and I wonder if that's what all people think of me. How do I let this go? |

Question: Is she being bullied in school? Posted: 10 Feb 2019 05:10 PM PST My younger sister is in 6th grade. She has Aspergers and has no friends. For the past 3 months [she estimates], there's this boy who kept going around telling their classmates that she stares at him. (Let's call him Aaron.) When asked by others why she does it, she didn't know what to say or they wouldn't accept "I don't mean to" for an answer. I'm pretty sure she found it upsetting whenever others said something to her about it. Altho she does stare, she's been trying to keep her eyes off of him but he still keeps doing it. He has yelled at her not to look at him, even when she didn't know he was there. When she & another kid inadvertently caught each other's eyes in math class once, he scowled at her & said angrily, "Don't look at me!" A girl she was friendly with said to her once, "Jill, Aaron doesn't like you 'cuz you stare at him!" Even a teacher complained to her in private that that her grade is going down fast. Aaron laughs at her whenever he sees something embarrassing happen to her; his bff, Jack, laughs at her as well. Aaron has mimicked her & so has Jack. Another girl has jeered, "We KNOW you like Aaron!" and refused to believe my sister when she asserted she doesn't. She even has come home crying before. Our mom insists that my sister is bothering him and that she should've been friendlier in the first place. Is this boy encouraging others to socially exclude her? Is he damaging her social reputation or social acceptance? |
