Question: Why did the patty Duke show make cousins twins? Posted: 19 Feb 2019 01:50 PM PST How is that a thing in the show when in reality that doesn't happen? I mean I read a thing that said if identical twins had twins of their own which is very very unlikely and rare then it's possible that the babies would be identical given that their parents are both identical like an identical twin sister pair Veronica and Susan both have children Veronica has a baby Mary and Susan has a baby Abigail it's possible that Mary and Abigail could be identical twins but still it's a rarity thing why didn't the Patty Duke Show make it out like actual identical twins separated at Birth or something funny and the mother did not know she had twins or something that would be more realistic. I don't know I'm 30 years old I watch a lot of old shows but some reason that wasn't one that I've really known about until real recent for some reason so I don't really know much about it but I find that that's just silly. It makes for a great show and I still really like watching it but I'm just very literal and just curious why they did it that particular way as identical twins that are cousins cuz that's not a thing. |

Question: My sister is an adult bully. What causes adults to bully? Posted: 19 Feb 2019 12:42 PM PST She is a bad person. Our parents enable her. |
Posted: 19 Feb 2019 12:40 PM PST They do not feel bad that they sent me to Landmark School for my learning disabilities and it was a boarding school and for 3 years through graduation. My brother just went for 8 months. Why is he better when I am so much better behaved as a kid? I left home for Landmark School 2 years after my brother was at Discovery. I did like Landmark School so have no complaints about going. |
Question: How did retirement cause my parents to go from rich to poor? Posted: 19 Feb 2019 12:25 PM PST My parents were extremely wealthy when I was a kid. My father had a good six figure job. He made so much that my mom didn't have to work and my father was able to help pay for my college tuition. They were even able to donate a lot of money to charity every week. However, my dad retired five years ago when he was 60 and everything was going ok until recently, when my parents shared the news to me that they are in deep financial trouble. How on earth can this happen? Due to my dad's successful job, our family used to be rich and now they're poor. How the heck can things completely turn around like this? |
Question: I really don’t like some of my family members who can relate? Posted: 19 Feb 2019 12:23 PM PST Sometimes I think that I wasn't related to certain siblings I would never speak to them or want to be friends with them |
Question: Why is my mom is annoyed with my toddler and I? Posted: 19 Feb 2019 12:05 PM PST I'm 28 and my child is 4, we still live at home because I moved back in from an abusive relationship. Clearly, my mom loves my child but she sometimes tells me that my child is too loud. My child will also bother my mom when she is busy cooking or doing something else. I tell my child not to bother the grandmother but won't listen to me and keeps doing it. I tried time outs and reward/punishment approach and that doesn't work either. I'm at my wits end. I'm trying to move out but my credit is bad right now. Help?! |
Question: Why does my mom always yell at me? Posted: 19 Feb 2019 11:56 AM PST I work with my mother, I try hard to help her through shifts, but she seems to yell at me all the time at home, she won't speak To ms, I have asked if it's cause I'm more like my dad and she says she's tired, but why me out of 4 sisters.... it hurts me and makes me feel small when I always do shifts at work that others won't.... it really does hurt me |
Question: Girlfriend is stressed about her brother? Posted: 19 Feb 2019 10:21 AM PST My girlfriend( of 4 years, we're both 19) has had to carry a sad amount of responsibility. Her dad left when she was young & her mom is not very involved( long story). She's had to be the parent to her younger brother( 13). He's in the rebellious teenager phase. I'm no therapist but I think a major part of this is because he has no father figure and his mom is working through her own issues( more or less, she's just an absentee parent). I've told him I'm always ready to listen if he wants to talk about anything, we have a good relationship. I've told my girl to just take things easy with him, be understanding, calm, cool, collected. She on the other hand, believes that he is just "wild" for no reason and lectures & punishes him constantly. I just feel like she's so hard on him. For example, he'll come back to the house 15 minutes late, and she'll hand him some, "No Xbox for a week. Extra chores" punishment. I just don't think being a drill sergeant is going to help him. I'll tell her she's way too harsh, she'll say he needs discipline, not free reign. What can I say to get through to her? |
Question: How can I help my sister ? Posted: 19 Feb 2019 10:12 AM PST My sister told me she's bi-sexual she's afraid of telling everyone. She's obsessed with Queen right now I don't know if she's doing it because Freddie did it or if it's a phase or if it's true she said it is true she also said she knew it long before she watched the movie. She's scared to tell mom and dad and our other older brother she's especially scared to tell her boyfriend. I asked her if she was sure and if she was ok she said yes. How can I help her ? |
Question: Why do girls cry over guys ? Posted: 19 Feb 2019 09:56 AM PST My sister was watching Bohemian Rhapsody she cried when Brian kissed his wife she has a huge crush on him she said he's the only one she wants she has a boyfriend but she hasn't seen or heard from him in a while she's worried he might be cheating again also she hasn't even had her first kiss yet. One of our cousins had passed over the weekend she really wishes he was here right now through this rough time not only this but she probably breaking up with her boyfriend. Why do girls cry over guys so much ? How can I help her feel better ? |

My dad has a business and my boyfriend used to talk to the truck driver and told me that its his friend.later after the break up my dad told me unknowingly that its his dad.i feel so hurt that he never told me that it was his dad. I never judge people by their profession jus because im from a rich family. I trusted him a lot but he lied to me.i still cant figure out why he never told me. Im so hurt and hate that he felt that would judge him because of his dad's profession.im so open minded but still he did not tell me. Im so hurt. He acted as if he was from a well off family. But i never judge people.he was so rude to me about our break up and still i was nice to him.i got over him but im hurt he never told me . Why dis he have to lie? Its heart breaking |

Question: Why are women where I live at least 21 with children that are at least 7? Posted: 19 Feb 2019 07:15 AM PST Where i live, around here, in jobs and even at colleges the women are at least 21 with children that are at least 7 years of age and a boyfriend that they've been with ever since middle of high school. Seldom around here and there a woman would be married at 18 and have children. Mostly they have children 7 years of age by 21, and they blatantly told me that they keep the jail number on their phone to contact their boyfriend. In church the women are married at 18 (probably a day of being 18) and has at least 5 kids. Any reason why it's like this around here? Even at high bank and office jobs around here the consistency is the same. |
Posted: 19 Feb 2019 07:03 AM PST My parents feel I am abusing my adult sibling (almost 19 years old) but I think they are over reacting. I pay her utilities so I've been trying to convince her to get a part time job to help cover it. We both go to school full time, I work 20-30 hours per week to make ends meet but sibling doesn't work at all. I cover my sib's utilities and I don't mind helping some but the mentality of "you're older so you should handle it all yourself" is killing me. My sibling is also very sloppy, not cleaning up spills and leaving old food out for days and letting things mold in the fridge. I tell sib this is unacceptable, that for the past 5 roommates I've had the apartment has never been so disgusting. Our parents somehow believe that I am the slob and my poor sibling is the one cleaning up after me. Ha! I drive my sibling and help them with homework to the point I don't have time for my own homework. I don't mind this but the cleaning and bills things makes everything more annoying Yet somehow my parents take me pressuring my sibling into getting part time work and cleaning up their own messes as abuse. I'm told I shouldn't make my sibling feel like a burden but it IS a burden. I'm not "mommy" and my own future kids would never be this irresponsible at this age cause I won't spoil them. |
Question: Please help me to buy my mother a birthday present? Posted: 19 Feb 2019 06:07 AM PST gf.me/u/qv9t4f It's my mother's birthday next week, I want to give her a surprising present. I have been doing some part-time jobs but I still don't have enough money to buy a necklace for her. That is why I am asking for help. Her birthday is on February 26th and I am running out of time and money to buy. And even a few dollars from you would be extremely appreciated. Thank you so much!!! |
Posted: 19 Feb 2019 04:29 AM PST She didn't even check how I was doing after the surgery when my best friend did. She is a ***** and doesn't deserve that kind of honor from me. Now, she'll never be a maid of honor bc her friends will never put her there |
Posted: 19 Feb 2019 04:17 AM PST i wear paint covered cloths that sometimes look muddy too and he wont take me anywhere..... Im just working on the house and stuff but he thinks people actually care what i look like at texas road house. Im like they are just happy to get our money. I wont recognize a single person in there and they wont recognize me. And me dressing up is actually doing them a disfavor. It makes them feel bad about themselves because i will look better than them. If they see me as ratty tatty then they feel better avout themselves i just did them a favor. |

Question: My half-brother seems to believe that everything is about him... Why? Posted: 18 Feb 2019 10:59 PM PST Hey there, I'm 27, and I currently live with my 55 year old half-brother. Whenever I do or say something that just happens to anger him (it happens often), he says to me, "You're just doing/saying that to piss me off". He says it over the littlest things, like being a few minutes late for a TV show (because I'm busy doing something else). I always try to explain to him that I didn't do or say that to make him mad, but he always insists that I did. He seems to believe that my life revolves around him. It's extremely annoying. I've been living with him for 5 years and he's always been like this. Any ideas as to why? Thanks! :) |
Question: My sister is a thief, how can I keep the peace between us ? Posted: 18 Feb 2019 10:49 PM PST I live with my sister and her girlfriend. How can I prevent them from stealing my stuff while I'm away at work. I have my backpack padlocked up. They've already went through it one night while I was at the store I could tell because the lock was only through one zipper & recently we ran out of toilet paper (my baby's wipes randomly came up missing). It's so stupid to lie about small things, I got upset that they try to make me seem like a looney for asking where the wipes when they babysit my son every night. Instead of just admitting they used them all. The girlfriend got all rude saying well I dont watch your baby so idk what to tell you. When they lived in my place they used to steal my belongings (my weed, cigars, a bluetooth speaker, money from my exs safe.) I have no where to go besides here so I'm trying to make it work but I'm fed up with their bullshit |
Question: Do I have the right to be angry at my sister? Posted: 18 Feb 2019 10:11 PM PST So I'm 21, and I still live with my parents because of financial problems. I don't have good credit... Anyways, my parents don't work, but my mom gets unemployment, and my dad gets money from a lawsuit that ruined his ability to work. Anyways, my 27 year old sister lives with us too, and she doesn't have a job. All she does all day is look at kpop, and does nothing at home. She's in the process of going to a university, so she's waiting on that. She won't even go outside unless she feels like it. Which is once a month. I'm tired because I'm the only one working my *** off. I work three jobs, and I'm paying a lot just to have a normal lifestyle. Like I buy groceries, and I pay a lot of the house bills. Her excuse is that she needs therapy first in order to get a job. Anyways, my parents are stupid, but they just leased a new car for her. I have no idea why a dealership would allow someone to lease a new car without a job? Anyways, she's over there saying she doesn't want it because she doesn't want bills. I think it's just because she doesn't want to work. She's been crying to my parents that she doesn't want it. I was at least hoping that the car would wake her up, and get her *** to work, but nope! Like who doesn't want a new car? And why would anyone be so frustrated about it that they start crying? It's like she doesn't care! I have to do a lot of chores on my time off on top of that. When my body is aching from pain, and she just sits and watches her computer. I wish I was like other dudes who are my age. I don't want to be in this position... |

Question: How to deal with a ***** sister? Posted: 18 Feb 2019 09:37 PM PST Hey, so today my sister went out shopping. She asked me for $50, I said no, as I know that letting relatives/siblings borrow money makes things worse. Now, she started being a ***** and is super annoying. I asked my sister (older) to let me put money in her bank account, and now I am asking for it back and shes making shitty excuses. What do I do? My obese sister and I are both minors. I would like to fix things with her but annoying toxic sisters like her are hard to talk to as they always want to have it their way. |

Question: Is it wrong of me to dislike my mother n law? How do I make my husband understand? Posted: 18 Feb 2019 08:53 PM PST My husband and I dated for a year before tying the knot last summer. From day 1 my mother n law has been rude to me. She's a single mom (divorced after 5 years) with a very dominating blunt personality. I recently relocated to his home town and we are currently living with my husbands brother, grandma and his mom. She is overly opinionated and interferes in everything we do. She even wakes up early to pack his lunch. I always try to see things from her point of view. Nothing works. I don't know what to do! |

Posted: 18 Feb 2019 08:49 PM PST Although my parents question things - they've never met my sister's friends, don't look into things closely and trusts her words. That makes it easy for my sister to make up a backstory for everything. When she was only 12 years old, she was able to access explicit adult movies and harass someone online. That's because our parents never monitored her on social media either, and she could always lie to them. Her stories seem realistic and normal so my parents take her words anyways. There's no reason to further question your kid if you haven't caught them doing something wrong before. I'm a lot older than her and grew up in a different decade so things were easier for me growing up (although I never lied about things like this). I'm concerned that some of her friends are grown adults in their early 20's, although most are her classmates. They are the rave type who seem rowdy and wild. |
Question: My Mom’s Boyfriend Always Stays Over!? Posted: 18 Feb 2019 08:29 PM PST So I'm away on vacation with my dad since it is his time (parents are divorced) my mom got a boyfriend a few months ago and I hate him. I'm in a different state than my mom right now but only a couple hours away by plane and my mom's boyfriend is in pretty sure staying over the whole week and they are going to an island and I hate it I don't want them to get close! Is that normal for them to do that. Are they moving too quickly. (btw I'm a 14 yr old female) so not a grown adult! Help me! Also I'm super close to my mom and I always call and text her constantly like a lot when I'm with my Dad (I live with my mom full time) |
Question: How can I get my mom to stop being paranoid about everything? Posted: 18 Feb 2019 07:42 PM PST I'll give her a pass since she's a senior and prone to forgetting some things, but it's her recent paranoia that worries me most. One example, she's under the false impression that I smoke even though I don't & its annoying. My job involves picking up and delivering food to/from places where ppl smoke a lot (esp. bars). So I'll come home smelling like cigars & use air freshener, which she interprets as me covering a habit. Hasn't said it outright but has been throwing out 'hints' of her suspicion. She's also accused other ppl of stealing & her young nephew of texting an inappropriate photo (it was a blurred pic of her arm she accidentally took) I'm worried for her and will be contacting my older siblings about this asap, but I still have to walk on eggshells around her until I move. Can I stop her from being paranoid? |
Question: My mother won’t let my get my eyebrows done, even with my own money? I’m 14.? Posted: 18 Feb 2019 06:59 PM PST Ive been asking my mother to get my eyebrows done since I was 11 years old. I was finally getting a job and she still won't let me. Honestly at this point I don't even care but how am I gonna tell her where I am if she asks where I'll be? |
Question: My cousin is a brat? Posted: 18 Feb 2019 06:32 PM PST So I have a cousin from Vietnam and I used to hang out with her a lot when I went and visit Vietnam for 6 weeks and she was one of the sweetest people ever. Fast forward to 2 years later, we're both 16 now and I just found out online that she's dating a 22-year-old guy from overseas. I told my mom about it and she told my aunt (my cousin mom) about it. Her mom freaked out and didn't know she's dating a guy 6 years older than her. I guess it's kind of common over there to date someone with a big gap age, but she's barely a sophomore in high school and he's gonna be graduating from college. She's also been calling my mom asking her for some money so she could buy a motorbike to drive herself to school and she didn't want to use her mom old motorbike. My mom wouldn't give her any money and a couple months later, my cousin then ask my mom for a new iPhone X because she got this new job that pays her to take pictures of the store product and post them online in their website and her iPhone 6 camera is broken and she can't use it. My mom declines her and told her to ask her own parents for one instead. She's also been sneaking out at night drinking and would come home drunk. Now she's saying that after she finishes school she wants to marry her boyfriend and have kids or if her mom lets her, she wants to drop off of school and marry her boyfriend and have kids. I don't know how I feel about her, she's also been asking me to buy her new clothes and makeup overseas too. I just found out they only dated for three months and he bought an airplane ticket to see her. She's now going to me asking me to get her stuff that cost so much money and I don't want to waste that much money I've been working for (I'm saving up money for my Greece trip). If it wasn't expensive I wouldn't mind but ooofff she wants Channel, Champion, Supreme, etc. |
Question: My mom wont forgive me? Posted: 18 Feb 2019 06:21 PM PST I told my mom that she was razing me lazily when what I meant by that was that she was raising me to be lazy. We got into an argument. She doesn't trust me too do very much chores that I want to do. She does not trust me to do the following: wash the dishes, Cook by myself, use the washing machine, fold the family's clothes (I have to do this myself). The reason I want t do some chores is because I just want to be a helpful kid. Just kidding its more because I am so bored of staying in my room all day. I want to be able to do some of these chores so that I can be more independent in the real world. I mean I do not want to be some stay at home person I want to be a hardworking adult but, I will still need to learn these basic chores. I feel bad for what I said and she is very hurt by what I said. I apologized but, she thinks I was being sarcastic. I am a teen and I just thought I should have more responsibility. |
Question: How do I get rid of my daddy issue? Posted: 18 Feb 2019 06:19 PM PST My dad left our family years ago and now I feel like I get attached to any old man to get the attention of my father. I've done this for a while. I have no clue where he went, I don't want to see him but I need someone in my life. I'm male btw |
Question: My mom won't let me wear my afro? Posted: 18 Feb 2019 05:41 PM PST I live with my mom and my stepdad. My stepdad is really childish and constantly picks on my brother's skin tone (even though he s also Black) and calls him "Black Black" and makes my brother really insecure about his skin color even though he's constantly getting bullied for it. My mom just brushes it off and says he's joking even though it obviously bothers him. My mom and my stepdad also make me wear hairstyles that make me feel uncomfortable and pull my hair out and get mad at me for wearing my afro (natural hair) because it's "nappy and dry" even though I take proper care of it, and it's nowhere near as dry as her hair is. She's primarily upset that I chose to stop putting relaxers, a corrosive chemical that permanently straightens your hair, in my head, and sometimes even threatens that if I don't wear my hair a certain way, I'll have to go to relaxers again. I'm 15, and although my biological dad is perfectly fine with me expressing myself and encourages it (he lives in New Orleans while I live in some racist, hick town in central Georgia), my mom refuses to let me live there and has even said she'll REPORT HIM FOR KIDNAPPING if I try to live with him. What do I do? |
Posted: 18 Feb 2019 05:40 PM PST My cousin's mother is in the hospital, so I texted her (the cousin) to ask how her mom is doing. The thing is that she and I live a four-hour drive away from each other, so we rarely have physical contact except once a year or every other year, i.e. Christmas and/or Thanksgiving. Our lack of contract is so severe, that at her baby shower while playing a game of "How well do you know the mother-to-be" in which we took "fill in the blank" tests, I was stumped on nearly all of the questions. So I feel more at ease texting. I feel a little guilty about the texting, because her answer on her mother's condition was VERY short and to the point. So i simply sent a "keep me updated" reply along with my thinking of she and her mother. Initially, I thought we'd keep the text thread going, but her short answer left me stumped. |
Posted: 18 Feb 2019 05:14 PM PST It's not a good time. I just moved out. She caused a lot of drama in my life, is controlling and verbally abusive. I hate where I live but it beats being home. I blocked her number for a long time and skipped Christmas. I really don't feel like catching up. Shoukd I just drone the gifts even though I need them? My mom is going to judge and talk down to me if she sees our place i just know it. This happened before and I said no and lost a chance to get a computer I need. I feel like this is a catch and she wants me to move back in too. |
Question: Why does my oldest son constantly feel the need to intervene? Posted: 18 Feb 2019 04:59 PM PST My oldest son is 16 and I want to clarify he's been a great help in the past in making the safety of his younger siblings a priority, even being mindful about the strangers they talk too and making sure they aren't dangerous. His younger brother who just turned 12 had a birthday party the other day and I put my 16 year old incharge of watching them. My 12 year old son invited his 9 year old friend and let me explain that he is very ill-mannered and quite the nuisance, as he's constantly farting on somebody or trying to irritate them. Anyways, the place we went too had a giant slide. From my understanding, the 9 year old kept pushing people down the slide. When this happened, my 16 year old son decided it would be funny to try and push the 9 year old down the slide too as a joke, but the 9 year old threatened to fart on him if he did, and my son's response was that he didn't care, but he didn't try and continue pushing him down. I asked my son why he felt the need to intervene and his reply was that he didn't realize there was an issue and that he was trying to participate as a joke and that he wouldn't have done something if he had concerns that somebody would have gotten hurt from it and that he wasn't in anyway trying to be rude. Should I believe him? |

Question: What else can i possibly do? Posted: 18 Feb 2019 02:44 PM PST I have 2 step kids that I ve been their step mom for over 7 yrs now they are 10 and 8. They know who their bio mom is and want nothing to do with her. But they constantly lie, steal and are disrespectful. They ignore anything their father or me ask them to do. The 10 yr old is always stealing from me and when I ask her why she always says she doesn t know. They are filthy I will have the whole house cleaned and they refuse to clean their rooms. I ve tried grounding them, taking toys and their favorite things away, not letting them go anywhere fun, we even tried spanking their butts but absolutely nothing works. I have a 17 and 15 yr old from my first marriage and they were NEVER as bad as these kids. I m at the end of my rope |
