A couple days ago I went to his office to do a study guide with his help. There were things I didn't understand, so he told me to come meet him after my other class. The lesson he was teaching took 20 minutes, but our session lasted about 2 hours because we got off topic. He told me a lot about himself and his life story. I got to know him personally. We talked so much that I had to end it or it could've lasted even longer. Am I overthinking, or does he like me? |

And doesn't allow you to leave the house if you aren't together. And that you have to text him right away if he texts you. And basically threatens you and always acts like he is the victim and you're the problem when he can't even give a reason of why he acts like this except that he was cheated on. He also says "don't catch an attitude with me" but he is allowed to raise his voice at you. He also seems to buy you things to "keep you?" He also gets an attitude when you want to get a job(you are jobless because you started hating your other job because you never had time for yourself but you blamed the job when you loved it) he said to you "I got so embarrassed and my face got red when I saw you talking to that guy" at your other job. This "guy" was a coworker who talks to EVERYONE in a friendly manner and not a flirting manner. But your boyfriend flipped out. Right when you wake up you go to his house the whole day. He's controlling and very manipulative. There's way more to this relationship that is mentally destroying but that's the main crap. So what do you think? |

Posted: 17 Feb 2019 07:29 PM PST So, a little more context to this, my roommate is constantly complaining that women find him off-putting, that no one likes him and every girl he texts ghosts him. Lately he's been really moody and upset about this, especially because of this one girl we have a weekly game night set up with, who texts me and another roommate about confirming a time, but not him, even though he sends 3 or 4 texts to her a week without a reply. Which is why she doesn't text him back, he's too overbearing about it, and she's not much of a texter in the first place. She really only messages the two of us other roommates to set up a time, usually a day or two before. He assumes that it's because of his appearance, which ends up a self fulfilling prophecy for him. He's probably a little over 300 lbs, and balding early. Because of this, he assumes most women won't like him, and pursues relationships too agressively trying to compensate for it, leading them to not like him. Then when someone ghosts him, he gets more upset and insecure, and tries harder with the next girl. I understand his thought process about this because I've been in a similar state of mind in the past. However, when I received similar advice (that I was trying to hard which was off-putting and made me seem a little creepy) I not only ignored it, but took it as an insult, that it wasn't just my body, but my personality that they hated as well. I only realized it after loosing a large amount of weight and seeing no change. |

After our hook up he offered me a pillow and blanket, I took that as a sign he expected I'd spend the night. The next morning he walked me to the door and we had a hug and kiss goodbye. I graduated college by 21 have held a steady job as a nurse and own my own home by 25. Past few days have been a little bumpy . Tonight , he invited me over . I got dressed and everything . Then he text me pushing the time out an hour saying he had to help his sister and brother In law with something . Then he text me again saying baby I don't know how long this is gonna take , we may have to meet a little later . He knew from the beginning that I couldn't meet any later . I tried to call him and it automatically goes to his voicemail . Yet, he text me . I asked if he blocked me and to answer his phone . He still hasn't answered his phone . I don't understand the point in inviting me to stay just to basically pretend and cancel ? To make it worse not answer his phone that's suspicious and red flags all over . I told him if we couldn't do the time he planned , he doesn't have to worry about me contacting him again . Is that reasonable ? After all , if he wasn't up to anything , he would have answered the phone . It's 6:40 pm and our plan was to meet at 8pm. If he doesn't come through , is it ok to dump this guy ? He did this on Friday and said he fell asleep after getting home super late from a road trip he had been on . Usually , this isn't his behavior, he's always texting or taking me out . However , as weeks past by she would always look at me but wouldn't talk and I guess she was shy to say something to me because I was sometimes quiet . Moreover, I would say hi to her whenever we made eye contact and she would do the same in return . I'm giving it back tonight, but had a little fun first. He was too stupid to lock his phone, so I was able to text his mom, sister, wife, his lawyer (I think), his sons swim coach, and two of his drinking buddies and ask them to all meet him for dinner at a nice fancy restaurant. I said that I was "running a few minutes late", and told them to go ahead and grab a table and order me an expensive meal. Well, turns out four of them agreed and they all saw each other there, sitting at their own table with an expensive meal for this guy that they didn't want and the asshole was nowhere to be found. They're all confused and pissed off as all hell at him now and he has no idea. How should I deal with the guy if he ever figures out it was me who set this up? I deleted the messages so he will have no idea most likely. Thanks! |

During our conversation My mistake was interrupting her a few times while she was talking. She HATES it. she stops communicating, gets up and tells me that she's done, we are done. So I call my friend to come help me move and he drives 8 hours to come help. In that time we talked a lot and she thinks I'm leaving her for the birds,in reality I was sick inside over her lack of compassion and it was the straw that broke me. It wasn't the first time I felt this way. Her coldness towards me isn't surprising because she is stubborn and holds onto her anger. My question is , does anyone have any advice on how to reopen communication with a person with bpd ? I want to go home and try again I've text several times this week and told her how I felt. Her response on Tuesday was - you made your choice. On Thursday she sent me a picture of a bill I needed to pay. Since then I've only text again on Friday evening. She read it but hasn't responded. We've been texting a lot since winter break and into this semester. I give her occasional compliments about her boots or something and she will smile. We met up to study for our class last week (at the school). Yesterday we went ice skating and it was a good time. Good conversation and she wants me to go with her to try a restaurant this week. Seems like mutual friends are kind of letting us have our space if that makes sense. I don't have a lot of dating experience. What is the best way to talk about or find out what we want out of this. Since we are in classes and stuff like that I don't want to make stupid moves and come across like I'm trying to take advantage of her or nothing like that. |
