But he won't even spend $500 to buy a dog. I'd actually enjoy a dog. Like if you are going to spend a large amount of money for a gift for someone... Shouldn't it be a gift that they enjoy? Whether or not you think it's worth that amount is irrelevant. Why can't I get an engagement puppy instead of a ring? Hand me a dog while proposing... Not a piece of metal that I'll never wear! But I don't want a ring. I wouldn't wear it. I think all jewlery is ugly. So why buy me something I don't want? That's a waste of money.
