Posted: 11 Nov 2017 01:36 PM PST Come Christmas we will have extended family so I can be distracted by them. My Mom won't go to Thanksgiving cause she hates her brother who is going to be there so she has decided to punish us by not letting us go. My Mom is an emotional abuser and my Dad a co-dependent enabler. I am 16 by the way and a girl. |

Question: Why am I bullied as an adult? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 12:31 PM PST I have a full time job with benefits and I get treated like it's a stupid job because Facebook thinks otherwise? It got me thru cancer and I'm pretty happy about that and my mom treats me like my Degree should get me a high salaried career. That's not how life works. Not at all, I'm self employed on the side and have another job as well. I work super hard and I'm treated like I am in poverty. I don't make much money, but I'm not starving. My cousin just got married and he posted honeymoon pictures of him in Maldives. He's not a millionaire, but holy cows, his pictures are showing everyone he is. Oh my goodness. They are jaw dropping. I'm trying to stay sane because I see life how it actually is. Is social media making me look awful? Am I doing the right things?? |

Question: Is it normal to hate living with your parents at 18? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 12:25 PM PST I turned 18 four months ago and I'm graduating a semester early but I'm upset because I wish that I could of graduated a year earlier and I wish that I had a job earlier as well. I just hate living at home with my parents and attending high school. I just wish that I could get out of the house more, have a job and I wish I was done with high school a year earlier. I know that 18 is the normal age to move out, and graduate high school but I'm really upset because while I'm living with my parents I can't do anything, I can't go anywhere and I'm always forced to do things I don't want to do. It's not fair, it's like I'm stuck here and I can't do anything. |

Question: Should I stay completely out of my ex wife's life? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 10:43 AM PST I am divorced but I am on friendly terms with my ex wife Ann. I wish her all the best in the future. She has remarried and is getting on with her life. I got an email from her current husband that said "Ann's spending is our of control. She is wasting all of her money buying clothes. She should be saving that money so I could buy a boat. He said "how did you control her spending when you were her husband?" I am not sure what to do about this email. This guy sounds like a jerk to me but what he and Ann do with their money is NONE OF MY BUSINESS. Should I just ignore the email or tell him I didn't control Ann's spending when we were married or something else. I don't want to add to any problems they might be having and it sounds to me like they are having problems. How they spend their money is something they have to decide without any input from me. I thought about forwarding this email to Ann but would that just cause more problems for her or is it something she should know about? Should I just stay completely out of their lives and block all future email from her husband? |
Question: Does this mean that I am a really sick guy? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 10:39 AM PST I an a high school senior with twin step sisters my age, my step mother's daughters. They are both gorgeous with a figure to die for. They like to come in my room in the evening so I can help them do their homework. I am happy to help them as I really like them. The problem is when they come in for homework help they wear their shorty nightgown and nothing else. Everything is visible. I would NEVER EVER have sex with my sisters. However my weenee sometimes has a mind of it's own and I get a b0ner. It is totally embarrassing when this happens. They don't know I sometimes do this as I hide it from them. When I ask them to wear more clothes when the come into my room, they tell me there is no way I should be sexually attracted to them. Does this make me a perverted sick guy? |
Posted: 11 Nov 2017 10:02 AM PST I'm wondering why they do this because I genuinely don't know. When they raised my older brother things were always smooth sailing. Then they got to me and as long as I can remember we have always argued constantly. My brother and I are just completely opposite. Anyways, no matter what, whenever we come to agreeing on anything, and things start going smoothly, they randomly spring a giant talk/lecture (that escalates into an argument) every time. And then things go right back to how they were. I'm almost 18 and they've done this for as long as I can remember. They take my phone at night. Usually at 11, or 11:15. And now they spring on me "we need you to give it to us at 10:30 from now on" and I asked them why and its because they decided 11:00 is too late (11 has been the time for over 10 months now). So now we argue about it every night and there's always tension. Same thing happened with my boyfriend. I started seeing him 2 times a week and everything was fine. They always agreed to let me see him twice a week for 6 months now. Well, recently they decided I'm "seeing him too much" and need to "not see him so often". Now that is a constant point of tension and arguments. I just don't understand why they do this. Continued in details. If you have any idea why or how to help please do let me know . They do the same thing with food, friends, when I go yo bed, when I wake up, what sports I do and how often I practice, and even with work. They told me I wasn't working enough. I got more hours. Now they tell me they never see me because I'm always at work and they want me to drop hours. It's extremely frustrating because I feel like they're always changing things that are working and keeping our parent/child relationship content. |
Question: Will this destroy me? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 09:40 AM PST I was abandoned by my dad at an early age. I grew up with my sister and mom, but always felt alone and didn't make many friends and chase many dreams. Here I am now at 27 and not much to show about anything my life has been a waste of time. I credit this to my absent father who I dream of getting revenge daily its the only thing that motivates me as I have nothing else. I will get my revenge someday for that is certain but what will this do to me mentally? Im already a mess of low self esteem and depression, but as they say revenge is so sweet. My mother and sister have forgiven him and have recently visited him which only infuriates me to the point that I see red, I mean the betrayal. |
Question: How can I convince my son to get his driver's license? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 09:32 AM PST He's 18 and in his first year of college. He lives at home instead of on campus to save money. My husband and I can't keep driving him around everywhere. It interferes with our schedules' and time. Sometimes my husband drops him off before he goes to work, and he's late for work sometimes due to traffic on the way to our son's school. He's a smart kid, he has always done well in school, and he's very mature. However he doesn't show any interest in getting his driver's license which I find to be so weird, escpecially being a guy. He's the only one out of his group of friends that still doesn't have a driver's license. How can I convince him to go to driving school and get his license? |
Question: Should I move out of my parents house ? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 08:32 AM PST Hello, I am in difficult situation.. I want to move out of my parents house, but dont want to be an asshole. Issue is, that me, my mother and my grandparents live in one house. My granddad is really sick, grandma is also not in her best health, my mother has issues with her nerves and she is having hard time with all of this, my father died when I was little kid. I am 25 years old, single (reason being I am home all the time) It is coming up to the point it seems my mother will want me to stay and help with family, but that way I feel I will stay in this house forever, die single or just become crazy. I hate living here, I spend 3-4hours every day to get to the work and come home exhausted , every time there have been any talks about me going anywhere away my mother is getting really nervous and starts crying. Also I am not much of help when I am home, I am tired all the time, I dont even like talking with my family because it is on my nerves all the time, basically I am useless here only things occasionally I do is bring some firewood and chop some wood, go to shop, I dont even really know how to make food (only some basics from when I was in dorm) Lately I have been getting nervous too, when I was studying living in dorm was my safe heaven, now I live for almost a year with my family and it is driving my crazy, but I dont want to leave them alone considering the situation they are in... I think it may also be last months for my grandpa...what should I do ? any suggestions ? |
Question: I lied to my parents.? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 08:19 AM PST So, my cousin had a weed rice krispy treat and she texted me on snap saying she already ate half od it and that she was fine to come over if I wanted a piece. So i told her she could come over and I would tell my step mom that she needed math help. She came over I took a few of her math papers so that it didnt seem suspicious and and she gave me half of the half she originally had. I didnt like it so i ended up giving the rest back to her. Later that night we get a call from her sister saying she was going to the hospital because she was throwing up and hallucinating badly. So my step mom asked if she came to the house with the krispy and i told her yes but i said that i hadnt eaten any with her. Now when my cousin is at the hospital she tells her parents that she got high at my house and ate the whole brownie here. Which was a lie. Im scared that she will tell her parents that she hit me up on snapchat and that my parents will find out (im not allowed to have it). I just dont know what to do and im freaking out plz help. |

Question: Why is my boyfriends family so ugly and mean? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 07:14 AM PST I'm in love with this guy who is so hot but his 3 older sisters and 1 younger sister are just so ugly. His mother is also very ugly. His 1 brother is good looking like him but his other 2 brothers are ugly like their sisters and mother. His father is good for his age and not ugly. Why is that? How can all the females in that family be so ugly but the guys are so good looking? BTW I'm not being horrible for no reason because his ugly sisters are very very nasty to me (because I think they're jealous). I'm worried though if we have a daughter together she'd look like his ugly sisters |
Question: How do I deal with all the crap I have to do? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 07:11 AM PST I have a very dysfunctional family and my parents (my father and stepmom) make me do everything. I'm in highschool and have to juggle school with coming home everyday to clean the whole house and cook lunch and dinner. My family has expected this of me since I was little but what gets me frustrated is that my stepmom doesn't do anything. At all. My dad works all the time, I rarely see him. When I do see him, he just yells at me. I'm used to doing all this crap, but it's getting to be a bit too much, especially since I'm now in my senior year of highschool and I have to worry about college. I really don't think there's a solution to this until I leave my house, because I have tried to talk to my stepmom and my dad but as I said, my family is very dysfunctional and proper communication is nonexistent. There is so much denial and close-mindedness, not just about this issue, but about many other things, that I've just stopped trying to interact with them. I've just been trying to get home and do what I have to do. I barely get sleep because after cleaning and cooking, I have a shitload of school work to do. Anyways, I guess I want to know what you guys think about this. Is it unfair for my parents to impose these responsibilities on me and for my stepmom to not help at all, or am I overreacting. Also, how can I manage my time better so I can clean, get the food done and finish my schoolwork as soon as possible? If you guys need more details, I will gladly give them. |
Question: My parents are making me pay back everything they gave me since birth. Can they do this? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 06:46 AM PST I'm 19 and I recently got a job as a dental nurse at a dentistry around a mile away from my house. I'm unqualified at the moment, but I'll be doing a dental nursing course and if I pass I'll be a fully qualified dental nurse. Earlier today, my parents said out of the blue that they'll be taking all of my pay every month so I can pay them back for EVERYTHING that they have given me since birth... and this includes stuff like food and drink, birthday presents and Christmas presents. They feel like I owe them for "making me" and mum giving birth to me. I said to them "This is ridiculous. Normal parents wouldn't do that". But dad replied "We can do this and we will." Can they even do this? Is this even legal? |
Posted: 11 Nov 2017 04:55 AM PST My parents use me by getting really mad if I have any association with this aunt. My Dad especially uses me, my Mom has gotten better after I threw a fit about it. They are not trying to protect me as I am an adult living on my own. I am nice to the aunt though keep a distance from her due to her narcissism. Next time I associate with her, probably around Christmas time, if my parents find out how do I break the dysfunction of their angry rant at me? They even keep me in the dark when our grandmother invites us somewhere involving the aunt and so I miss out. My parents have a long history of playing this silly game of using me. My siblings are used also but not as much since they keep away from family more, I am more loyal. So how do I break this toxic behavior of my parents and its impact on me? The aunt is no saint, but it is her and not me they need to punish if they are trying to hurt someone. Anonymous: My parents find out from word of mouth of others. I only tell them if it is an occasion when I know they will find out so I want to get their wrath over with. I fear conflict and so am very anxious about displeasing my parents or the extended family. |
Question: My daughter loves her grandmother so much. Does that kinda mean I'm a bad mom? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 03:01 AM PST I know my daughter loves me. Does she love her grandmother more? |
Question: Parent's won't approve of who I love, how do I go about this? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 01:55 AM PST I've loved a lot of people. But I never got close to anyone because my parents are over-bearing into my personal life. I'm 20, I recently reconnected with an "Old friend" who had always loved me- and I had loved him to. When we reconnected- this time, I said yes to dating him. (He's in the army) Problem is- my parents are racist. My father is a lunatic - who, won't even let me drive to work. Won't let me work over time at night. Won't let me date anyone . My mother- she has no back bone, and just let's it happen because my father can get physical. My father was once a boxer and around 7 feet tall, and construction worker. I'm caucasian , he's African American. I don't care for race, it's just melanin. But if my father found out he would not let me leave the house. I'm afraid he'd go and blame my mom for " the way i turned out" and get physical with the family. He'd go after me- I mean. My whole father and mothers side is racist europeans. He Used to be physical and cruel- but as i got older. My father has been kinder to me. Now all he does is praise me for doing college and all my accomplishments. But - he still staggers and diminishes my potential. I wouldn't care for what he felt- if only I didn't feel like he would injure my family. Or come after me... Me and my soon to be fiancé- we've already had everything planned. But Idk what to do about him. I just don't want him to hurt anyone. That's all... I've known this man for 3 years before - and spoken with him many months. It's not something new. But something I can't avoid anymore.. |
Question: I moved out/was kicked out and now my parents won't let me get my stuff? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 01:04 AM PST My parents didn't want me to move out after college, they wanted me to stay home with them so they could have me help out (they're both able-bodied and make more than enough to hire someone). But then they'd always pull "my house, my rules" and treat me like I was a particularly stupid child, so I signed a lease on an apartment and moved out. When they found out I'd signed the lease, they threw me out then and there, so I had to stay with friends for while until my lease started. I've been working full-time for a few years, and there's a lot of stuff at their house that I bought with my own money, including some fairly expensive items like a good mattress and my books and some nice clothes for interviews or formal events like weddings. Most of these I don't have receipts for because they're a couple of years old. Now my parents are saying I'm not allowed back into the house to get any of that stuff and that if I do get it they'll sue for theft. I tried to call the police but they basically just told me to "work it out." I can't work it out because they want me at home. How do I get my stuff back? I'd love to work it out, but my parents have the idea that I should live with them until they give me permission to move out. There's no way for me to talk to them because they're not going to give in unless I stop "being rebellious" and move back into the family home. They've even offered to pay off my entire lease if I'll just move back in. |

I then invited her home and before we got to my house door she said "i don't want to bang". I said we didn't have too. She then said i want to see your room. I showed her my room. Question: Why do parents choose favorites? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 12:13 AM PST I have become distant with my mother since i've noticed she chooses favorites with the 5 of my siblings. She only ever calls me to figure out which state i am living in. I see her and hear about her conversing a good bit with 2 of my siblings. What would be a calm way of letting her know, i am removing myself from the situation since she cannot love us all the same and that its hurtful? Why do parents choose favorites? |

Question: Guest keeps coming over and never leaves? Posted: 10 Nov 2017 11:42 PM PST My uncle has lost his job and keeps coming over everyday. The problem is that this has been going on for weeks and he refuses to look for a job. He's also the type of person that criticizes everyone in my family and is just a flat out freeloader. Even my dad is getting pissed at his brother. He basically lives here now and is totally uninvited. He's living off of unemployment and would rather chill on our couch than go look for a job. What to do?? |

She will throw stuff at me. She will laugh whenever she makes me upset. She will never feel regret. She will throw me down the stairs. She will boss me around. Posted: 10 Nov 2017 05:19 PM PST My grandfathers' mother just died and he is flying from Washington, where I am and the rest of my family, to North Carolina where his family is. He is obviously going to his mothers funeral and is the one planning the whole thing. My grandmother is the biggest ***** to him and yelled at him because he couldn't find a cheap enough ticket to go to NC and she doesn't want him going but that is not stopping him. I hate the way she treats hims because he's my grandpa and I love him. I want him to be happy so I am secretly hoping that he staying in North Carolina where I know he'll be happy. I am a bad person for wanting him to stay there? I'd miss him like crazy and so would everyone else, except my grandma who, I think, would be very happy that he was gone. |
Question: My 15 year old daughter wants a phone, how do I stop her complaining? Posted: 10 Nov 2017 05:11 PM PST My 15 year old daughter has an iPhone, but she wants to make calls on it so she can talk to her friends. I think it's great that she wants to talk to her friends but she can't pay for a phone because she's not old enough to get a job. I give her $5 a week for her allowance, so that's $20 a month. She can pay for a phone, but she complains that if she paid for her phone every month then she wouldn't be able to spend her money since it costs at least $20 a month to make calls on a phone. I told her she can work in the summer to pay for her phone, but she says that won't be enough money because she'd only be working in the summer and not all the time to keep up with paying for her phone. I wish she would be grateful for what she has. |
Posted: 10 Nov 2017 05:08 PM PST Im 24 year old female. My dad has been a jerk to me like all day long and my mom too. So he was slamming things yelling at me and my mom on top of his lungs. He was doing this I think because he had a tooth ache and because I confronted him about bein a smart mouth with me this morning and of course he won't admit that he has done anything wrong and thats all my fault. He is not sorry. He never is. He says i was yelling at him but it was because he was yelling at me and he kept coming in my room like 3 times yelling at me and slammed the door as hard as he could. I have Asperger's and he doesn't even care about that. I can't talk to him about anything because he gets so mad at me. I'm in Certified Family Housing and him and my mom are my caregivers. If I get taken out of the house I will be put in a program that will be hell and won't leave me any money for anything. I am having thoughts on killing myself to night when my parents are asleep and they don't take me seriously and tell me to drop it. |

Question: I'm about to disown my mom, please help? Posted: 10 Nov 2017 04:45 PM PST I loved my mom very dearly up until a week ago. She is so freaking annoying, and dumb that it's sick. My legally blind mom has been like this all of my life and I'm fed up with it. The bad part is that she's actually a VERY kind hearted person and will pray for anyone and help everyone, but her brain is just stupid! She can't hold an intelligent conversation. She always has an excuse as to why she "can't...". She can't remember nothing you tell her, she's always repeating the same stuff. She can't keep up with a simple conversation, everything goes right over her head. If you try to reason with her, she can't identify that you're trying to compromise so she keeps coming up with irrelevant info. She doesn't offer any good advice; she's always confused. Because she has the common sense of a child, it's hard to understand what she's saying, then she gets frustrated and goes left field if you don't understand her. If you try to compromise, then she behaves as though what she stated should have been understood. What she fails to realize is that what she is thinking was never properly expressed verbally in a way that her listeners can understand. She has made so many foolish mistakes that has almost killed her. If it were not for my early recognition and good intuition, my mom would have been dead years ago, yet she still opposes me, etc, etc. I hate to leave her because she needs me, but I can't stick around anymore because she is literally driving me insane. Please help me! |

Question: Why does he still keep looking after saying this?? Posted: 10 Nov 2017 04:35 PM PST He and I broke up 2 months ago and I started going to church and found him staring at me 2 weeks in a row so I texted him but he said he was offended which is why it wouldn't work and why he wouldn't allow himself to have feelings for me again. I didn't respond. I've been going to church since then it's been almost a month, i don't look at him and have given him a dirty look couple times. He literally doesn't take his eyes off me my family says...confused. My friends say it's a longing stare i don't look at him and have given a dirty look a couple times yet he keeps staring. Was he just trying to play the hurt card and make me work for getting him back?? if he doesn't want me that much then why can't he take his eyes off me??? |

Question: Why am I having delusions in the back of my mind that my father used to sexually abuse me? Posted: 10 Nov 2017 02:42 PM PST Please help me. I know my father would never do that. He's not sick and horrible. He is a wonderful man and father and I love him. I have the best parents in the world, and I have always been closer with mother than anyone I know. yet when this idea crosses through my mind, I do not reject it. Somehow, I assume it could've and likely happened. I'm 17 now, and he has never ever done anything that I can remember to cause these accusations. |

Posted: 10 Nov 2017 02:38 PM PST I have such joyous memories but it is with people who are now estranged from the family, have moved far away and just see us in the summer, or have died. I miss my childhood so much. I am 34 now and feel so sad. The holidays now are just my immediate family (parents down) and one aunt. My Mom's family is spread all across the country with one group now estranged and my Dad's family stopped coming to town after my grandparents died though come in the summer. I feel so sad. |
Question: My neighbors kids are so loud. Any suggestions? Posted: 10 Nov 2017 02:31 PM PST So, I am 16, living with my parents. We moved into a beautiful home about 6 - 7 months ago, because where we used to live, it was quite expensive and the area. Ever since i moved in however, the neighbors kids are so loud. They are around 3-10 years old, and they drive with their scooters up and down our, and others driveways. They constantly scream for no reason. However, today is quite bad. They were banging on our garage doors with the scooters and screaming. I politely asked them to go somewhere else, and they were on our property and being loud. I want to ask the parents and the kids to stop, however my parents give me sayings like, "Who cares? they are kids, let them be." or "You are just an old man get over it.". I think I am starting to go crazy and out of my mind!!! I've tried white noise such as a fan or speaker, or listening to music, however they are just that loud that it won't work. I am in such a rut, and we are living so close. Any suggestions? Any kind help would be greatly appreciated. Please try to understand my standpoint. |
Question: Does what I did sound reasonable to you? Your opinion please.? Posted: 10 Nov 2017 01:22 PM PST I got an invitation from my ex mother in law and my ex father in law inviting me to a party to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. I really liked them when I was married to their daughter. However I politely declined to attend because my ex wife and her new husband would be there and I did not want my presence to cause any problems for anyone at the party. I did however send a nice wedding anniversary present. After the party I got a call from my ex wife and she was mad at me. She said the present I sent her parents was nicer than the one she and her husband got for her parents. She told me I was no longer part of the family and I should not have any contact with her parents. I pointed out to her that her parents had invited me to the party so I though it was appropriate to send them a gift. I told her that if she has a problem with my gift to her mother and father, she should take it up with them. Does what I did sound reasonable to you? |
Question: Why did my parents kill my dog? Posted: 10 Nov 2017 01:18 PM PST They didn't like him pooping in the house, so I woke up one morning to a dead dog by my bed with a note saying "Ha we killed your dog." He liked to hump my pillows. |
