Question: My grandma is abusive? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 02:26 PM PST so basically my mom dropped me off at my grandmas house because my mom wanted me to visit my grandma and I'm 14 btw and so when my grandma opened the door she hugged me and welcomed me and we sat at the table and talked about how life has been and such and she even gave me a cupcake which i ate and in the middle of a conversation, i accidentally dropped a piece of my cupcake onto the floor and i picked it up and apologized but my grandma SCREAMED SO LOUD "HOW DARE YOU!!!!!" and came over to me and started BEATING MY HEAD with the spoon she was holding and i screamed stop! but she just started beating my head harder with her other hand too now so i backed away and told her to stop now and she SCREAMED "IM A BRAT" and THREW the plate i was eating my cupcake on AT ME and it SHATTERED all over the floor and she grabbed a kitchen KNIFE and threw it AT ME but i ran out of the way and ran over to me and started BEATING my stomach and grabbed her knife and ran to me so I RAN OUT OF THE HOUSE. called my parents, and told them everything but they didn't believe anything! I'm serious about this and i don't know what to do if i have to see her again |

Question: Family Problems after Months of Family Therapy??? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 01:43 PM PST My dad walked out on us last April, we've all since then been in family therapy due to the fact my mom thought we needed. I'm 19, and I'm currently trying to get into college working some small retail job. My dad used to be my bestfriend growing up We'd do everything together. he was literally my Favorite person. After 7 or 8 Months of him living somehwere else he finally moved back in and now he's mean and has been super rude. He makes fun of me and Talks down to me, I want my dad back. I really do, I just dont know what to do. My mom says we argue and fight because we are too much alike, but I don't agree. He's never been like this, why now? |
Posted: 30 Nov 2017 01:17 PM PST I'm going though a lot at home my grandma think im going be a prostitute it's not true cause i don't even dress like one. my brother be trying get me in trouble for no reason at all and my mom said she gone take me to the mental home cause I had stand up for myself. |
Posted: 30 Nov 2017 01:07 PM PST I'm a 36 y/o male. My parents died and I've been her legal guardian since she was two. She's been acting up lately and when she gets mad slams her bedroom door. Technically it's my house and my door. Was I in the wrong? How should I get her to talk to me? I don't know if it's too harsh but I was thinking about taking "her" cell phone and smashing it, but it sounds too harsh. Should I do that? I just want her to respect me. |

Question: My sister has a boyfriend and now she ignores me and my sister? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 12:13 PM PST hi so im 15 and my older sister is 17 and she is "in love" i guess with her best friend christian and although they're not technically dating (strict parents) they basically act like a couple. So ever since they're been "together" all she does is talk to him on her phone. She comes home goes straight to her room without even saying hi and just talks to him all day. And i know that she's growing up and everything and has her own life but it just makes me really sad because we used to be best friends, i'd tell her everything and she would tell me everything, except now she never talks to me, and l know she cares for me and stuff but it still makes me sad. I've tried talking to her about some of my problems but she doesn't really listen and my younger sister feels the same way. Am i being irrational? What should I do? |
Question: My dad is 83 and im 20 it’s so embarrassing to me? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 12:06 PM PST I respect and love him because at the end of the day he is my dad but i feel so embarrassed whenever my friends come over and they ask me if that's my grandpa or if he's related to me, it really sucks that I can't go out with him or talk about things that a son talks to his dad about, he was married before but his wife died and then he married my mom and it's crazy that I have step brothers that are in their mid 60s and it's so weird and awkward to me. |
Question: Does he still have feelings for me? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 11:53 AM PST Ex looks giddy and happy when I'm around, and no matter what he does he constantly looks back to see what I'm doing. He acts like a guy with a crush. His body language is flustered, and excited. I don't understand because 2 months ago he said he wouldn't allow himself to have feelings again and that he wouldn't forgive what I said about his mom although he said something about mine first. Does this mean he changed his mind? He smiled and said hi a couple days ago too he said something about my moms clothes and I said his mom looked like she came from the stable and didn't have new clothes. That's what he's referring to. Also I'm a virgin and he knows I'm waiting till marriage to save the people who say he wants to "smash" -_- |
Question: Moving out of your parents house at 18? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 11:45 AM PST I just graduated high school, and I'm ready to move out, but I need some advice. I've been financially independent from my parents for a while now. I've had a job since I was 15, and have been supporting myself and paying my own bills since then (Cell phone Bill, food, car insurance, etc.) . I'm saving up for college, but can't stay with my parents any longer. I'm the oldest of 8 children, and I'm treated as a babysitter. I'd rather just move out on my own. Anyone have any advice? Especially in New York City |
Posted: 30 Nov 2017 11:27 AM PST I am the outsider of the family. I am overlooked cause my Dad is an alcoholic and my Mom has died. I reach out but they still overlook me. I can't just crash their party and so I am alone. My Dad's family is spread out across the country and my Mom's family overlooks me and was never close to her as she was bitter. So Thanksgiving I was alone. I plan to contact my Mom's family "I have a gift I would love to bring by" but only her sister who has no kids responds and that's after Christmas. How do I handle all this |
Question: Best way to make a picture into a gift for a grieving loved one? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 09:47 AM PST My boyfriend's 24 yr old sister passed away last week. I was on the phone with him this Tuesday night and he was telling me he was going through her Facebook profile and he came across a picture of the two of them she uploaded on his birthday a couple years ago. He told me that specific picture made him think of all of their childhood memories and that even though he was heartbroken that he didn't have his "partner in crime" anymore, he wasn't sad that her life was over because she lived her life to the fullest and she did everything she ever set her mind to and enjoyed every second of it. They were extremely close and she was his only sister. I saved the picture and I want to give him something very special with it. I'm not very crafty and can't really come up with anything besides like a pillow. I'd like to give him something more meaningful than that or nicer than just a pillow. Could anyone help me with any ideas? I would really appreciate it so much. He's a very simple guy and something small like that will mean the world to him. |
Question: How can I form a "bond" with my mother-in-law? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 09:41 AM PST (i m 16 and my boyfriend is 18) My "mother-in-law" hates me. She never talks to me when we visit his parents. They just talk to him and ignore me. Then when I m out of the room she says mean things like "has she gained weight" or sometimes its been extreme and she called me a "b*tch" I don t know what I did wrong. All I know is she got angry with me when I helped my boyfriend get a job and his license. We told his parents and they seemed upset about it. They got even more angry when I helped him move out. Then when they found out we are engaged they said nothing... I don t know how to talk to her about this or even if I should. |
Question: If I’m a teen, is the house also considered mine? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 09:32 AM PST I live with my mom & dad, long story short, is the house also considered mine as is it for my parents? For example, can I tell them, "this is also my house". |
Question: What would you do if your mother was mentally ill? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 09:21 AM PST What would you do or how would you feel if your mother was mental and all she ever done for you in your life is birth you in the world, criticize you, and accuse you of sleeping with her boyfriend? Never taught you any morals or self respect, and always set bad examples in your life throughout your child and adult hood? Would you still talk to her, love her, how would carry on? How would this affect you? What advice would you give someone going through this situation? |
Question: Alcoholic father or no father? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 08:31 AM PST Without going into too much detail my dad is an alcoholic and I have lived with him all my life up until a couple of months ago and I am 16 years old. He is a non functioning alcoholic and he has verbally abused me and mentally so basically put me through hell. He hasn't been a real dad since I was a young child so now that I'm older and don't live with him I have cut him out and haven't seen him for a while, I don't plan to anytime soon. Would it be okay if I told people I didn't have a dad since it's very complicated and emotionally I never had one. Any advice on anything to do with this would be great |

Question: I NEED a friend or do I need grief counseling or just counseling? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 07:16 AM PST I am hesitant about asking this but here it goes. My only child died 27 months ago with Cancer and while he was sick the problems got WORSE with my Mom. She called him a faker, lazy a**, and drug head. She awful to him and myself my Mom gave us NO moral support. When he died my Mom asked my son's Dad to cut her grass the day he died and declined. My Mom cut her own grass instead. The past 27 months have been rough ones I was diagnosed with Lupus, was in a wreck 2016, and another three Months ago broken back hit by drunk driver. My Mom told me I had the wreck on purpose so she could NOT have her surgery, I am a faker, and the same remarks she told my son but I do NOT have cancer. My husband took a leave of absence to help take care of me, take me to follow up visits, etc.. My Mom told him I was milking it and he needs to help her. The holidays are here and my Mom told me I am NOT going to be around you because of your immature crying over your son get over it. I have to use a wheel chair and my Mom tells me your NOT getting sympathy from me . My doctor called me and my Mom was trying to ask questions about tests results I do NOT have her name listed HIPPA law. She got mad at my doctor and asked what are you hiding?? I do NOT know what to do and can someone help me? I will report any distasteful and cruel remarks so please serious answers if you do not answer that's okay. These are the high lights of what she does and it gets worse of what she does. I can NOT havefriends because of my Mom. Again I will REPORT ANY DISTASTEFUL REMARKS!!! THIS GOES OUT TO THE INTERNET TROLLS!!! |

Question: How likely is it my dad will get arrested? How long? Posted: 30 Nov 2017 05:26 AM PST My dad has put his bills in other people's names most of his life. I'm 16 and he's even put bills in my name. None of his bills are in his name besides his car payment. He uses other family members and my sister who has completely removed him from her life since he screwed her over. He never actually pays the bills. He had this one in my sisters name that was a lot and it made her credit score decrease by almost 100 points. She's taking it further and says she wants him arrested for this fraud. It puts me in a tough spot because he's still my dad and he pays for my clothes, school, insurance, etc and I'll end up having to live in my Gma's basement if something happens. He did something bad but I'm just curious as to how likely him being arrested is? How long ??? |

Question: I’m scared to tell my parents? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 11:57 PM PST I lied to my parents like 2 weeks ago about a detention and I'm having a breakdown. I've never lied to them and now I feel really guilty. I'm scared that if I tell them I lied to them that they will not trust me anymore. I'm scared that if I don't they will find out from the school. I'm so scared that I'm gonna lose their trust. I can't get the gut to tell them the truth that I lied to them but I really really want to. They are caring parents and they have always told me "You don't have to lie you know that right?" I know I don't have to but I was supper scared and couldn't tell them. Now I know that I screwed up and I want to tell them but I'm so scared. Will the school tell them even if it was 2 weeks ago? Should I tell them the truth? How can I tell them? |
Question: My younger sister is no reason mature, but I'm more responsible? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 11:03 PM PST Not too long ago, my mother said that my sister was more mature than I am, despite me being the older brother. She looks for jobs and tries to keep herself busy. My mom also said that I'm more responsible, meaning that I can keep up with things I need to do or don't lose my belongings very much. There's a contrast with how my sister can handle situations calmly, while I tend to let my mind run with possibilities and freak out a little, but I can hold on to something for long periods of time. For example, when our house phone ringed to talk to my mother, I didn't know what to say, so my sister grabbed the phone and explained everything. Despite being mature my sister has a history of letting things get stolen, such as 4 phones (all of which are at least over $100 each, most recently she lost an iPhone that costs $200), her State ID, and a calculator I needed for a final exam one day prior because she placed those things on a desk in environments where other classmates have a reputation for stealing, while I have still held on to any important items like my phone, State ID, house keys, social security cards (which my mom had to hold for her because she loses things so much), and other belongings. This is why I'm hesitant to let her borrow my belongins, because almost every time I do, she loses them. This makes me wonder how exactly my mom views us as these. I always thought I was more mature, but apparently not in her eyes |

Posted: 29 Nov 2017 10:54 PM PST I got detention and I told them I had to stay after school and finish a packet. They believed me because I've never lied to them. They are very strict about lying and trust and I'm scared that they are going to find out. If they find out they would be furious. What should I do? I can't tell them, I'm to scared. They would be disappointed and mad. They might not find out so should I just never say anything or tell them the truth? |
Question: How to get over this anger I feel towards my mother? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 09:55 PM PST When I was 16 my dad became incarcerated we became homeless and we ended up living in shared housing with this lady named sarah who opened her doors to complete strangers. My mother, brother and myself. Sarah had a husband named John. During our time there he cheated on sarah with a neighbor and they divorced. Fast Forward: A year after that we rented a home near the area during this time another year passed by and my mom dropped massive weight. She looked better than ever. Four months ago I found out that my mother is dating that John, sarahs ex husband. I just thought it was disgusting my mom and I have been arguing like crazy. She has blocked me off social media sites yet, she still lives with me. She says I m a horrible daughter and that I m selfish because I make her pay rent now. Before, I would pay all the bills because I felt bad that she was going through everything alone. I find that shes very ungrateful towards Sarah. I feel so embarrassed. I want to kick her out, but I cant stop feeling guilty because shes my mother. |
Posted: 29 Nov 2017 09:51 PM PST When I was younger, I was sexually abused by my older brother. I was 7 and he was 14. When I turned 15 my experience began to weigh heavy on me and I told my mom that my brother sexually abused me. I couldn't help, but cry uncontrollably as it came out for the first time and my mom told me to "Stop being so dramatic". She told all of my siblings (which I did not want her to do) and told others in the family that I was lying. She always covered for my brother through everything that he has always done. She told me that she was going to take me to get a lie detector test done as a way to scare me into letting it go. Years later I brought it back up, as it continues to effect me everyday. When I talk about it my mom purposely ignores me and fails to acknowledge anything about it. She gets upset when my responses to her about my brother aren't so nice. My brother has always been a trouble kid and is now facing 10 years in prison for a gun charge. My mom constantly pittys him, gives him money and brings him around me when I've asked her on several occasions not to. She has never tried to comfort me or help me seek counseling. If one of your children sexually abuse the other, would you be able to continue having a relationship with them? I'm now in my early 20's and will be graduating with a Bachelor degree in January. After that, hopefully I will be able to start a life for myself. Should I let it go or confront my mom about the way I feel one more time? |

Question: Parents depending financially on adult children, need some advice? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 08:36 PM PST My mom was married to my father up until I turned eight years old. She divorced him and she struggled for ages (her fault). She let him move back in but she kept going back to her boyfriend who kept dumping her on and off. Her boyfriend kicked her out and she went to go live with her sister who is my aunt. They fought badly and she had to move in with my dad again (ex) when I was going to community college. She only has worked very part time jobs but has never gotten her financials straight. Recently, she told me some kids buy houses for their parents, etc. and it is okay for adult kids to financially help out. She even, only one time, blamed me for being in this situation of living with her ex (my dad). I think it's one thing to help out but not to financially support a parents like subsidize them. She is starting to try to find someone to date online to get out of this situation but so far it's not going well. She is highly dependent on me for other things too like her problems, etc. I am starting to resent her. She says she can't move out because she isn't in a career, etc. and cannot afford it. What are your opinions? |
Question: My parents always take forever to buy me stuff what do I do? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 08:30 PM PST So I wanted this video game and its on sale since it's near Christmas time and I asked my mom if I could buy in in early November and she says yes and says we will buy it later and it's not like we are poor or anything. And now it's basically December and most of the good sales have expired and she's still promising false hopes. What do I do bc it's really frustrating?! |
Question: How do I tell my mom that I want to move in with my dad? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 08:25 PM PST My mom and dad divorced a decade ago and I haven't seen him since, courtesy of his mentally unstable wife (of which he cheated on my mom with). They moved two states away, and now have two children. His current wife is a large part of the reason in which I haven't seen my dad. I talked to him a few years ago, but stopped considering it was too much to handle. My whole life, it s felt I'm never entirely satisfied with anything in general. I've wanted to move in with my dad in order to try it out/make sure I wasn't missing out on a crucial part of my childhood with him not being in it. I'm two years away from turning eighteen and am more than old enough to handle the situation. However, my dad has been somewhat cruel to my mom and I in the sense that he inflicted physiological abuse in the past. He has also refused to pay child support throughout the years, leaving my single mom exhausted. This of course, makes him sound awful, but I am more than positive that it's simply been the influence of his current wife. Not to mention my mom isn't entirely innocent, and has been manipulative with me throughout the years, leaving me exhausted as well. I feel trapped by her. She's mentioned the idea of me moving in with him before, and guilt tripped me into denying the concept under all circumstances. I feel bad, but 16 years has been more than enough. Sorry for the excessive detail, but I have no one else to ask for unbiased input. Given the details, how should I break it to her? |

Question: If he said this why is he constantly staring at me? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 08:12 PM PST we broke up since we fought a lot. I texted him 2 months later and he said he wouldn't forgive me and wouldn't allow himself to have feelings for me again. I didn't respond. It's been 2 months since that and he constantly stares at me in church and shockingly smiled and said hi. He insulted my mom and I insulted his mom back saying he didn't buy her clothes and that he was constantly wearing the same thing. So given this he shouldn't even be looking at me yet he smiled and said hi now? Does he still have feelings for me? |
Question: Help, my mom is crazy? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 07:02 PM PST my mom gets mad over such dumb things and she's extreme. 3 months ago she got mad over something really dumb that was not that big of a deal and she got mad, she slapped me really hard and hit me which left a bruise or two in my legs. She called me horrible names like b****, stupid. She also kicked me out of the room we shared so I slept in the living room.Everytime I say my opinion she gets mad and again insults me and I don't cry but it just hurts being called horrible names. She also always threatens me with if you don't do this then I'll hit you. Today she told to play a sport so I could be taller,I told her that the sport was weird and boring. After she finished talking to my dad on Facebook, she told me that how can I say that about the sport, if I say my opinion I shouldn't be insulting anything. She compares me with others 24/7. Also today I was putting my clothes away and I didn't put hers away and she got mad and hit me, when I asked why she did it, she just said because she can and again started calling me names. I'm really tired of living like this. My dad doesn't say anything about this. She thinks everything I do is stupid. She threatened me by saying that if I don't get all A's in school then she would kick me out. Someone please tell me what to do. My dad and rest of family live in a different country so I have no one else to live with. I can't even say what I feel without being judged by her. I'm scared of talking to the counselors. I'm 15. |
Question: How often do your parents visit you? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 06:44 PM PST My parents are divorced. Now I never had any trouble with them and I visit them often enough but it gnaws at me they never visit me back, not unless I ask, nearly beg for it myself. I don't want that anymore, but I do wish they visit. It's not that they are living far away, only 15km (less than 10 miles) and they are both in good health and can drive their car. What is a normal average amount of any parents visiting their children? Oh, and it's not like they have 10 children to visit, since I am the only one. I have no brothers or sisters. |
Question: Do your kids help you? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 06:11 PM PST Do your kids help you with work around the house I don't mean taking the garbage out and stuff I mean actually work |

Question: Do you agree with the school? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 05:42 PM PST Our daughter Nicole attends a private Christian school with her cousin. The children all have a dress code. Nicole is in 3rd grade while her cousin is a grade behind her. My Sister got upset yesterday when she stopped by for a visit. Nicole had misbehaved at school and I was giving her a spanking. My sister cause she seen I had Nicoles uniform skirt up past her waist notice that our daughter wears her white lace trimmed underpants instead of what the school "requires". A solid colored pair of shorts. This got my sister upset and she said the rule is in place so girls don't wear an actual panty like mine does! "For goodness sakes you can see your Nicoles buttcheeks her panty is so thin" She is not climbing up on the monkey bars Are schools strict with this part of the dress code and why is it so important? |
Question: My dad made me feel bad????? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 05:39 PM PST I'm 22 year old guy, and for the longest time I didn't know what I was doing with my life. After high school I was completely lost, I was struggling to find a job, soo I ended up having to go and work part-time time at a homeless shelter. I felt sorry for myself, I got soo depressed because I felt like I was going nowhere in life. Plus I was completely broke. But this year I got a job in a hospital, I was able to even buy a used mercedez benz. I feel better and more confident about myself, I did things that I didn't think I would ever doo.....but sadly today my dad told me that I still haven't accomplished anything in my life and it made me feel really bad......any advice ????? |
Question: My dad just got arrested and idk what to do? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 05:36 PM PST I'm 16 and my dad got arrested for fraud. He put his bills in many people's names including mine and my sisters. My sisters credit score dropped almost 100 points last month. She ended up taking him to court and all I know now is he got arrested. I live with my dad but I've been staying with my gma. I don't know what to do I feel so lost. My dad was all I had even though he used other people's names he still loved me. My sister said he could be facing up to 20 years. I won't have insurance and I'll lose my phone and my dad pays monthly for my school so I'll lose all of it. I feel like my sister is selfish because she only thought about herself while I lost my home. My mom is locked up in a psychward I just don't know what to do anymore. My gma is too sick and can barely afford to pay her mortgage, my dad never wanted me getting my license so I don't even have that. I'm feeling so hopeless and lonely right now. Ive been trying to get a job but no luck as they turn me down since I don't have my license to drive myself. It's all too much idk what I did to deserve to lose my dad and my home |
Question: How should I deal with some impulsive neighbor children? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 04:24 PM PST Their parents don't see it as a big problem. Both twin girls are 13, and will repeatedly harass my small dogs. They're on the sidewalk, scaring my dogs and making them bark. I also notice them being mean to much smaller children. I've talked to their parents once about bullying, and they said they'd deal with it. The behaviors keep going on and hasn't changed. The second time, they were too busy working to keep an eye out for things like this. I started keeping all pets away from the windows when it's after school time. They just found new ways to be bothersome. I don't know if it's attention seeking or if it's funny, but it's becoming an issue. |
Question: Why do my parents not want me to join the Navy? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 04:11 PM PST So, I'm currently 16 in high school. And I told my parents that after I graduate I'm enlisting in the Navy. When I told my parents that, my Mom was all for it. My Dad on the other hand does NOT want me to join. He told me that if it was his choice, he would not let me enlist. Not in a million years he said. Why is this? Is he scared that I might get hurt? Or is every parent like that with their kid wanting to go into the military? |
Question: What the hell is my mom's deal? Posted: 29 Nov 2017 03:43 PM PST She's really pissing me off to be honest. Today I didn't feel good, so i had trouble waking up. All of the sudden she starts screaming at me because I'm 30 minutes late for virtual school. She snatches my laptop and tells me to do my work downstairs, because she "doesn't trust me"? Really? For not waking up when i told her i didn't feel good? Then when my brother comes home, he starts playing the TV loud. I told her that either i do my work upstairs or he turns it off. She said I have to deal with it. I obviously told her that while i can try and "deal with it" i have ADHD and it's distracting me. She told me "not my problem". Really? Now she's using the fact that it look me longer to to my work as an excuse for me being lazy and "untrustworthy". Kind of funny because if i DO recall, she QUIT COLLEGE because she was too lazy to even bother. Oh! On top of that, she even lied to her family about it and said she DID finish it. I still feel like crap and now she's yelling at me for taking my test in my bed because i don't feel good. The hell is her deal? She was sick a few days ago, and she took days off because she had a runny nose. God forbid i want to stay in bed and do my work, she's all over me. She won't even let me get a service dog so i can go to public school. I hate public school, but id rather go there than hang with someone who could give 2 shits about your ADHD and other disorders, including a sleeping one she completely ignores. Cant. Move. Out. Like i SAID, I'm doing VIRTUAL SCHOOL. Im far too young to just get up and go. Seriously? I totally forgot that if i have learning disorders my mom ignores and Im- oh no- pissed off about that? Pff, I must be a baby! Oh- oh-! I have... sleeping disorders and social disorders that i was so happily blessed with..? They... make my life hell and she hardly acknowledges them..? Im SUCH a wimp! Thanks :D Wtf is your deal Heather? I need a service dog for paranoid personality disorder, ADHD, social anxiety disorder, depression, etc. I hit the mental ******* jackpot. There are service dogs trained to help people like this, i qualify for one for sure. My shitty disorders cause me to faint, black out, you name it. Lmao you act as if you have my life, pathetic. She DID take days of for the "sniffles" thank you very much. I slept in for 30 minutes, not 30 years, idiot. |
