Question: My mom is trying to get me to move back in with her? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 01:32 PM PST My mom and I do not get along. The last time we saw each other was July and it wasn't pretty. Afterwards I've blocked her number and haven't spoken to her since. She somehow found a way to contact my dad (they're not even together) to ask me over again. I didn't comply and now I feel like my father is on her side. Not to mention she's a druggie. I have my own place, my own job, and he said to me that my rent is high , as in a way, that I could move back with her and I told him no. Should I rekindle my relationship with my mom and/or listen to my father? |
Question: My uncle is really drunk. "I think he's an alcoholic". Should I tell my three sons? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 01:32 PM PST Their father is an alcoholic and there's no way I'll ever let them see him again because I really don't like him. However my uncle I like so I am happy with my kids seeing him at family holidays like today. So should I tell them he's an alcoholic, my uncle, and what do I say if they ask why they get to see him and not their dad? Do I just tell them that their dad is evil? |
Posted: 23 Nov 2017 01:30 PM PST I am 14 and I'm not allowed to see my dad for Thanksgiving or Christmas and that hurts enough all the more when my mom is insulting him to the family today. I'm not allowed to see him until my birthday in February. I'm the only person I know can't see a parent over the holidays. Obviously my parents are divorced and they have been for three years. My dad just got remarried and so the insults are on the rise. |

Posted: 23 Nov 2017 01:12 PM PST I have my girlfriend here and my mom has ruined it by ruining the turkey like the usual dumb ***** she is. How do I get my anger out as I don't want to get mad in front of my girlfriend. The food is ruined and it is the greatest day of the year for food. |
Posted: 23 Nov 2017 01:10 PM PST My son is shaking and scared my brother yelled and we're hiding under the couch. My brother is not violent but he yells at people and gets belligerent when drunk and he is an alcoholic. Help us please what do we do I'm trying to keep my son calm. |
Question: Why does my brother hate when I fart but is ok with him farting of my mom farting? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 12:48 PM PST One day me, my mom, and my brother were all riding in the car we all had really bad gas I guess, first my mom farted and it stunk really bad. Then my brother farted not as bad, then I said I've got to add to this so I lifted my cheek and let out a big fart and my brother said sis your nasty you can't be farting like that so I locked the windows and said why don't you smell some more of it. My mom said well you got that from me haha. |
Question: My parents don't like to travel but I really want to? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 12:44 PM PST I'm sixteen and have always been passionate about traveling around the world. That's one of my goals in life but my parents hate it. They just take me to places near my city or rarely to a nearby state. I want to travel to a different continent(Europe or Asia) and have saved up money. My parents keep telling me no, we can't go because it'll be a waste of time. I have two months of during the summer and I've even searched for cheap flights. I just wanna see how people around the world live, not just over here in America. I don't know how to convince them. I promise to save money but they keep saying no. |
Posted: 23 Nov 2017 12:34 PM PST She said him choosing his father over her is the last straw. Our dad hurt our mom a lot by cheating on her so I stopped speaking to him as did my sister, but my brother still talks to him and chose him over us today. That has wrecked my grandmothers Thanksgiving and my moms. |

Question: My mom doesn't love me because i don't want to give her grandchildren? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 11:04 AM PST I'm 25 and I won't change my mind, ever. My mom doesn't love me, she doesn't even talk to me. She talks with my sister who is younger than me and already has a child. I told her since a young age (13) that I would never be a mother no matter what, I wouldn't change my mind. |
Question: Should I abandon my parents since they failed to provide me with a decent life? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 10:43 AM PST Basically, both of my parents are immigrants and both work minimum wage. I was on welfare for most of my childhood since my mom struggled with some illness that prevented her from working. Growing up, I always wondering why the heck my parents had me since they couldn't provide me a decent life. I couldn't live my life like a normal child and teenager because I was always poor as dirt. I am 21, about to graduate college soon, and my plan is to move out soon (hopefully I get a job offer at other state) and have no contact with the fools who raised me. |
Question: Grandparents won’t let me have friends? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 10:15 AM PST They haven't let me leave the house (at all) for about two months now. I have plenty of friends but they say friends are not needed ever. I'm 17 years old and I just NEED some freedom I can't always focus on school. I'm on thanksgiving break & have 5 days off and they said they want me to stay home. They won't even let me go to thanksgiving dinner at my uncles house. What should I do ?? I'm so isolated and treated like a slave. I'm trying to move to my dads house but he's taking his time |

Question: Why do children of strict parents become the most rebellious ones? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 10:04 AM PST My parents are super strict conservative Christians and what did their parenting turn me into? An atheist pill-popping gay manwhore. I have no sexual inhibitions whatsoever and I've tried about every hard drug that exists. Why does that happen? |

Question: I’m afraid that I will turn out like my dad? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 09:41 AM PST My mom and Dad split up when I was 8 and when I was 15 I decided to move in with my dad into an apartment I regretted it ever since I moved in, it's so boring and I miss living in a house. My dads not a bad person I just feel annoyed with him sometimes and I feel like if he's annoying then I will seem annoying to other people. I'm in a happy relationship people at school and work seem to like me and I have a lot of friends.... I look WAY more like my mother and her side of the family and I like my moms personality better... so basically what I'm asking is am my my own person? Or am I more like my mom because I look like her? And will I just be annoying because my dad is because of genetics |
Question: No Thanksgiving This Year :(? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 09:40 AM PST Long story short my little twin sisters (14) were supposed to wash the dishes. I work 4 days a week so I do chores WHEN I CAN (But I am a clean person) They didn't finish washing all of them and left some dirty dishes on the counter like the kitchen wasn't pleasant to look at but it coulda been worse. So my mom got mad and says she's not cooking this thanksgiving so now we're forced to find somewhere to go. Do you think she was right or wrong?? Please answer |
Question: I don't want to talk to my family today on thanksgiving. Is that ok? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 09:36 AM PST Toxic people. Controlling. Drama. Fake. Never there. Ect. I feel guilty though or like its wrong not to be a part of a big table gathering. I tried it with strangers and it was a disaster. Fake family showed their true colors by christmas. Or suddenly its this forced reuinion |
Question: Why does my life suck so much? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 09:14 AM PST I live in the ghetto in a dirty apartment. I'm 16 and I have no friends. I don't want them to see where I live, so I never invite them over. My clothes are old and small and I can't even afford to go to prom. Why do people have kids just to make them suffer? My mother is emotionally unstable and just yells all day. I seriously hate my life and wouldn't even mind dying. We can't afford a car so we just take the bus everywhere, and on top of it all, my mom is leaving my dad. I just want it all to stop. I see all these kids at my schools with great lives and I just wanna die. I'm not jealous, I just wish I could have that too. |
Question: Why is my mom so negative? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 09:12 AM PST she's always negative especially recently it's gotten worse when I first slept at my boyfriends house when I want to talk to my problems she'll always argue about it, when she does I'm not like that it's making me not want to talk to her anymore, my brother has been getting help from his drinking so he's nicer and she's expecting me to give him a second chance I said ok but she is just making me not want to anymore already. should I just ask her why she's being a ****? if we fight least I have a place to stay now if I don't want to put up with it. my boyfriend said she's probably afraid of losing me but she wouldn't if she wasn't so negative. |
Question: Is it normal for a 20 something year old girl to not wanna be around her mom? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 08:52 AM PST I used to love being around my mom but now I can't stand it because shes so irritating and loud. I like being by myself. When you get older you just wanna do things yourself. Im planning save up and move out in the next few months. I just really like having my own space without anyone bothering me is this bad? You start to want a bf ..is this bad or normal? Yes I have a job and my own car |
Question: My mom broke my glasses what do I do? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 08:10 AM PST So me and my mom have the same prescription since she got laser eye surgery and she wanted to borrow my one pair of glasses that I like. She wouldn't take the ones that I hate the way that they look on me, she had to take my favorite ones. She said she was only going to use them while hers were being made so I said as long as she didn't loose or break them it was fine with me. She lost them yesterday and couldn't find them and she told me today she found them at our aunts house and her dog broke them and scratched up the lenses. I want to explode. Everytime I thing of it I about cry. I don't want to overreact but I'm just so upset because they're my favorite pair and now my mom and dad don't even want to buy me a new pair. Ugh help |
Question: 16 and mom won’t let me date? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 07:54 AM PST i asked my mom to go see a movie with a boy WITH my aunt, but my mom won't allow it because she says i'm too young and she doesn't trust me. i really like this boy and i've never asked her before now to date meanwhile all of my friends have for years now. another big reason as to why she won't let me is because she has a negative view towards him, who she has NEVER EVEN MET or know anything about, she just knows that he goes to an alternative school and so she calls him a thug and tries to compare him to my aunts drug dealer scumbag husband who recently just caused a giant scene in the family. so they literally have nothing in common, she's just bitter over that and trying to relate it to me. she also doesn't have any reason not to trust me except for a few instances in which i've gotten in trouble for, for example, having social media behind her back, or cussing in text messages. she's super strict and religious and talks down on me as if i'm some awful child because of these things, and it's not like i'm out here smoking meth or getting pregnant. i am a good kid, i make really good grades, just recently got a really good ACT score as a sophomore, passed my permit today. i haven't given any trouble or reason for her to not trust me in months, but all she's focused on is past actions i've made that clearly define me as 'not old enough to date', and her negative view of him from the recent situation in my family that he has no reason to be compared to. idk what to do. |
Question: I want to move in with my Dad but I don t know how to say it. Advice? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 07:43 AM PST My parents divorced years ago and I have always lived with my mom, visiting my Dad on the weekends. I have always wanted to move in with my dad because I just feel more comfortable and at home around him. I don t hate my mom, but we don t get along as well. I m a lesbian and my mom thinks gays are gross. She still treats me pretty much the same even after I came out but knowing that just makes me feel scared to be myself around her. My dad is a lot more accepting about it. I don t know how to go about asking to move in with my dad, I don t want to hurt my mom s feelings. I know she still cares about me and I don t want her to think I don t care about her but I really just feel so much better when I m with my dad. What do I do? |
Question: Why can't my mom just let my sister be happy? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 07:43 AM PST So I'm haitian-American, and so is my older sister. My older sister use to date this Haitian guy and the guy was so abusive towards her. Our mom knew about his abusive and manipulative ways, but because he's haitian, a church go er and he's engineer , she doesn't do ****. So my sister had the strength to leave the dude and she got with this Dominican guy. He treats her like a queen, and I see their love is genuine. But my snake *** mom wants to **** up their relationship and my sister to go back with her abusive ex. I swear why can't my mom let my sister be happy? |
Question: I can’t stahd my mom? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 07:00 AM PST I don't wanna sound ungrateful or rude but I honestly don't like her for many reasons. I'm 15 and I know it's normal for you to be annoyed or not like your parents but this is why, my mom everytime she gets a new boyfriend all she cares about is them. She lets men control her and treat her like ****. She forgets about her own kids and will spend all her money on her boyfriends and forget about her kids. She's rude to me and she blocked my dad from calling me from jail because she got into a fight with him so I can't even talk to my dad anymore. She constantly makes me feel terrible and she's just a terrible mom. What should I do! |

Question: My mom treats me as a child? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 06:26 AM PST I m 20 years old and I work one job I live with my parents, I also own my own car which is almost paid for, and I feel like with my mom she treats me as a child. For example, I have to constantly text her telling her where I am, sometimes she makes me go to places with her and I always need to ask her if I should buy something before I can do it(mostly for the car). My friends say she treats me like a child. I also smoke weed (been caught twice, but never saw me with the weed), and one night she took my keys to my car and "found" my stoner bag, but I hide it in the compartment in the trunk. Which led me to think, does my mom treat me as a child? I ve wanted to move with my friend so I m in the process of getting a second job. But I hate that I feel like I m a kid that cant do anything but I m already 20. Does anyone else goes through what I m going through or is it just me? |
Question: Can novice RVers live full-time in an RV for retirement? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 05:33 AM PST My aunt and uncle owned a camper for a couple of years in the 70's, but that's their only experience. Now they've announced that they're buying a used RV to live in full-time. She has significant health issues and he is about as mechanically inclined as my dog. I don't know much about RVs either, so this is a sincere question. Should I try to talk them out of it? I've already tried to talk them into renting one for a week or two to try it out, but they insist they want to sell everything they own and buy. They have no kids, so we're their only family (and some other cousins who aren't as close to them). Thoughtful opinions and insights welcome! Thank you! |
Question: Spending Thanksgiving with someone else’s family. Am I in the right to feel angry? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 03:17 AM PST Hello, im in a tough situation. My mom's boyfriend's family invited us to go their house for thanksgiving. Im not sure if my mom truly wants to go but she is making me and my sister go. I'd much rather spend it with my aunt and cousins but my mom is forcing me to go with people that are not even my family. This made me really angry since i don't even like his family or him for that matter. Any advice? |
Question: Grandma is on life support and everybody is harsh on me :(? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 03:17 AM PST My grandma is on life support and I've been crying since I found out. Everybody has been very harsh on me and accusing me of "not caring" and they won't take me to the hospital...if it's my dads mom, why is my moms family all asking my mom if she's okay and why does nobody ever ask if I'm okay? Maybe I'm being too over dramatic. I'm just 13 years old theyre probably more focused on the older people. It just sucks because I was raised with my grandma and knowing that I AM going to lose her and nobody shows sympathy for me because I'm the one taking it the worst... sorry I'm being a drama queen I'm just hurt :/ |
Question: A problem with In Law's? Posted: 23 Nov 2017 02:45 AM PST My Husband and I got married February 2ed 2016. We met and fell in love , The only problem is his Mother and Father dislike him being Married to me . The reason I believe this is because they didn't seem to like the ideal of us getting married because they told him to wait. After we His mom wanted us to move in with them so we did for a year, it was not a happy time. I didn't like the idea of moving in with them but I love him and wanted him happy. While we lived there his mom and dad talked about me and to me in hurtful ways. His dad would say all I did was eat and sleep . That's not true because I cooked dinner and cleaned the bathroom . I didn't feel comfortable about cleaning certain rooms because that was their space , Everyone does things differently , at the time my Health was bad I'm diabetic & my sugars was really high so I did sleep a lot until I got on better medicine to control it. It was staying around 4 and 500 after I eat. We bought are own food & helped pay for things. Finely we got are own place and his Mother seemed like she didn't like the idea she just seemed like she wanted us to stay there. A few weeks ago she called my Husband , I wasn't around at the time & she asked him if we was both dividing are Money out good and she told me not to tell me she ask that & he said he would tell me , She said that I probably didn't tell him everything. Is there something wrong with the way they act and what they say or am I just being over dramatic? |
Posted: 22 Nov 2017 11:56 PM PST I'm currently 3 months away from being 18 and I don't think I can handle living with my mother any longer due to many problems. If I leave the house and don't come back can she call the police to force me to go back? Are there any laws to her forcing me to pay rent? What do I do? I don't trust my mother, don't feel safe and at this point honestly would rather die than have to stay here... |

Question: Is he just being a normal dad? Or is he acting creepy....? Posted: 22 Nov 2017 10:05 PM PST My stepdad came into my life when I was 10 and he had a daughter with my mom and she's 10 now about to go to middle school. He still kisses her on the lips, forces her to give him hugs even when she doesn't want to, and sometimes when they're sitting on the couch he runs his hand up and down her leg. Also she was saying she thinks it's time for her to get a bra so he asked to see her if she was ready. I never had a dad so I'm not sure how dads are supposed to act with their daughters... Is this normal? Or creepy- it seems really pervy if you ask me |
Question: Should we buy a house with my in laws? Posted: 22 Nov 2017 09:20 PM PST My husband &I are both going to college &we both have about 2 years left and then we plan on going to grad school. (Business administration and school counseling) We got married at 20.(we've been together since I was 16) We're 22 and 23 now and we decided to move into our in laws back guest room in their back yard. It's like a tiny home to us. Long story short she wants to buy a bigger house because she wants to live with us forever. This house she's looking at is huge. (4000sq). We would have a huge room on one side of the house and everyone else would live on the other side of the house. His 2 sisters would live there for now(they're in college) and we would all split the bills evenly until someone moves out and go from there. She wants us to have kids there and then once she and my father in law pass away she said she would want us to keep the house. (It would be in her name and his sisters name) (his sister is consigning) this was their idea. I know her motives are not just us living there but she also wants a bigger house to live in. They are of the Hispanic culture not that -that matters but it gives you insight on how they like to live with their kids forever. We have a good relationship but she can be controlling. We can't reallt afford our own plants because of my husbands college. I would like insight from others. Mind you she is only 45, she had her kids extremely young. |

Posted: 22 Nov 2017 05:59 PM PST She brainwashed me against my Dad when I was a kid. Now as an adult I feel much guilt about that and for years have been making up to him. Now, 20 years after I reconnected with him, I am still making up to him. So this Saturday I am skipping an event of my Mom's but she accurately pointed out that if it was my Dad or his family I'd be going. She is right. If I miss Mom's event there will be another one in a month. If I miss Dad's then all the guilt and pain of being estranged for 7 years comes back to me. How do I explain this so I am not in trouble with her if I miss something of hers but not my Dad's? My Mom divorced my Dad and alienated me from him for 7 years cause of his drinking. Now as an adult I carry the wounds of that 20 years later. |

Question: Found cocaine in my parents room?? Posted: 22 Nov 2017 03:45 PM PST I was looking for the hair straighteners in my parents room and accidentally found a bag of cocaine. Before you all tell me not to assume it s cocaine, I know it is because when I asked my mum she said it was Viagra and then I saw text messages on her found to my dad laughing about how I found it and how easily she lied to cover up that they had cocaine. They re already arguing with each other and I don t really wanna add to that but I feel like I should probably talk to them? The cocaine part doesn t bother me too much it s just how easily my mum was able to lie to me that bugs me... Any advice?? |
Posted: 22 Nov 2017 03:40 PM PST My parents have never respected me as a child, and as an adult, nothing has changed. I'm 34 with a husband and kids, our own home, both of us have decent jobs... we're doing pretty well. My mom is the worse of the two. At my husband's birthday party, when my mom arrived, she came flying through our front door, and came right up to me standing in the kitchen. She got about two feet from me with her finger pointing in my face. She was talking very loudly and started listing off a list of things I needed to have serviced on my car (which she had borrowed while hers was in the shop) and told me I'm NOT to drive that car until I have all the things fixed that she thought needed done. I was mortified and asked her, "please stop pointing at me" (quietly and politely because there were about 5 or 6 of my husband's friends in the room and I didn't want to make a scene), and she responded by exclaiming "Oh shut up!" This is just the latest example of her behavior. A lot of times, she's telling me everything I'm doing wrong as a parent and how theres all sorts of things wrong with my baby and he needs to see a doctor. She also tells me my baby needs a new doctor, because the pediatrician I chose is, according to her, an idiot. I don't know what to do to get through to her that I am capable of running my own life without her constant input. It's exhausting dealing with her. |
