Posted: 09 Nov 2017 09:17 PM PST I've been having some problems lately my fiance of 5 years and I recently took some time apart for 4 months to try to work things out come last week Friday Saturday morning I cannot get ahold of her come to find out I took a drive to her ex's house to see her car there she lied but later came out and told me she had slept with him just to see if the feelings were still there She cried and ask for forgiveness and said the feelings weren't there because she couldn't stop thinking of me so we both decided to work it out even after the fact I said we were both going to leave the past in the past because I am not a perfect guy either and I had made some mistakes before but never as bad as this for some reason I cannot get over this and constantly reminded of the pain I felt when I discovered this and it has caused us to argue for the past 3 nights note that we are trying to work this out and take things slowly but for some reason she doesn't want her family to know that we are working things out yet I am stuck in a place where I want to work this out because I love her and put too much time in this relationship to throw it away do you guys have any suggestions on how I can get past this to work this relationship out and stop bringing up the past and thinking about it please help I really want this to work Because I love her and I raised her two small children as my own |
Question: Wedding decision conflict? Posted: 02 Nov 2017 01:09 AM PDT My fiancé thinks weddings are a "giant colossal waste of money". When you could take that 8- 10k and use it as a downpayment on a house instead. His ideal wedding is a courthouse elopement. Money wise I totally agree. So many venders over charge just because it is a wedding. And I don t mind the courthouse idea other than my mother would literally be heart broken. She s very materialistic. I ve personally always dreamed of having an out door wedding where I grew up. I m trying to figure out the best ways to cut money. He doesn t seem interested in anything. Who comes or what our colors are or food truck or what type of music we should have. He Just keeps saying the same thing over and over again. He knows that it s important to me and agknowldges it. But even with trying you can tell he just really doesn t care about having a wedding. Idk maybe I m just being a girl, but should I just give in to the courthouse idea and have a reception afterwards? |
Question: Underage engagement? Posted: 01 Nov 2017 07:53 PM PDT So my girlfriend and I are minors, 15/16, and I read somewhere that you can get engaged at any age, and that you only need parental consent to actually get married. Is this true? Not looking for judgment or "you might not be together that long". Also nothing like @funny 's answer Helpful stuff only |
Question: FIANCEE WANTS A BEST MAN. I DON'T WANT A MAID OF HONOR? Posted: 01 Nov 2017 05:31 PM PDT Here is the deal. I don't want a maid of honor because I can't pick one. He has twin sisters so I can't pick one over the other. 3 of my bridesmaids are friends that are in CA and I'm in Texas. I have known them for awhile but I definitely don't talk to any of them on a regular basis. My other 2 bridesmaids are some friends I met here but I definitely havent known them long enough to have either of them become my maid of honor and give a speech or anything. So I need help... |

Question: Is it wrong to have mismatched wedding dresses? Posted: 01 Nov 2017 04:21 PM PDT I'm getting married to a girl. Today we both found our wedding dresses except hers will be white and the one I like is off white. You can't tell until you are right next to each other that they are different. Is it weird to have non matching wedding dresses? |
Question: Is it too early for me to ask them to be in my wedding? Posted: 01 Nov 2017 09:53 AM PDT I am getting married in the beginning of August in 2019. I know who my bridesmaids/maid of honor/flower girls are and I'm pretty sure they know who they are too, But I want to formally ask them with a gift and everything. Is December 2017 or January 2018 too soon to ask the question and give them the gift? I already bought the details and the presents for the "asking the questions" gifts but I can wait if there is a specific timeframe when I should ask! |

Question: Dr who proposal ring? Posted: 01 Nov 2017 01:40 AM PDT Hi, So I am planning on proposing to my girlfriend during new years eve, to symbolize "our new lives, together", but I'm encountering some problems when it comes to finding the right ring. My gf doesn't like mainstream rings, and to be original I am certain she would want a dr who themed proposal ring. However, I am somehow unable to find some decent dr who rings, seeing how most of them are cheap as dirt. Sure, She is the kind of person that would be content with anything, but I want it to be a big deal. Any ideas or tips? |

Posted: 31 Oct 2017 12:28 AM PDT These guest are people we want to impress and who gave really great gifts at our engagement party. Just to clarify! These specific guest decided themselves to send gifts for our engagement. We did NOT request anything! Also, the save the dates are going out very close to the holiday. We would be sending this exact same group holiday gifts anyway as we do every year and they do the same for us. |
Question: Is it bad to get a cheap engagement ring if you think she'll really like it? Posted: 30 Oct 2017 04:05 PM PDT I've been looking at rings for a good while and found one I think my girlfriend will absolutely love. However, it's so inexpensive that I feel kind of bad buying it (not even close to the old three months salary rule), but at the same time, I would feel ridiculous getting her something she would like less just because it costs more. |

Question: Can you get married while in different states? Posted: 29 Oct 2017 03:56 PM PDT I've been in a relationship, long-distance, for four to five years. We've spent, roughly, a few days together once a year and are ready to commit. Our problem? I live in GA, and she lives in PA. How does one go about legally marrying someone? We just want to get it signed at a courthouse/have no actual ceremony, so I'm not sure how to go about this. The reason I don't fly up there to her/vice versa is because I'm not 18 yet (turning 18 in a few days) and we don't have the funds. She's 19, and I'm 18. We want a courthouse wedding, and then when we're financially stable we'll have an actual celebration/honeymoon. Both states offer courthouse weddings, but after looking up the specifics, we need to be living together/in the same state. We just want to get married since we're 99% sure this is a "forever" thing Of course, I just wanted to know for curiosity's sake. My mother used to say never marry someone until you've lived with them, and that's what I plan on doing. glad to know everyone can read. i said i was wondering for CURIOSITY'S SAKE, not that we were actually planning on getting married first. also, i didnt say "get two weddings"- i mean we get married, then have a big reception where we invite family/friends, not have a second wedding. i admit i may have fudged the wording a bit. yes, i HAVE talked to multiple adults about this. they all agree to wait until we actually move in together and live together for a while, which, gasp! Was the plan anyway also, i'm not a guy. we're two girls. so i dont think id be assumed the father by anyone, and would be very pissed off if she did, in fact, become pregnant |
Question: I'm not feeling right about my fiancé.? Posted: 29 Oct 2017 02:07 PM PDT My fiancé wants me to find a job, hold the job, save, and find my own place so when he arrives to the United States from his country on a visa, we will have our own place. Also, so he can have an address other than my parents' to put on the visa application. I live in the Bay Area of California which is a pretty expensive place to live. Finding a job will be no issue for me. Holding a job where I live which is 10 miles from work with no car will be an issue. Saving will be an issue. Finding my own place will be an issue. I feel like I could do what he wants me to do but it would be very difficult and I'm not sure if it's the right thing to do and for some reason I'm wondering if I made a mistake accepting his marriage proposal. I could move to Texas and work while living with my maternal grandparents. I could save, get a place, get a car and get married. But I'm just having doubts about accepting his proposal and I can't even understand fully why I'm having doubts. Something doesn't seem right to me? |
Question: I don't like the idea of my wedding band being thinner than my engagement ringg? Posted: 28 Oct 2017 04:47 PM PDT so an ancient symbol of out unity in perpetuity is thinner than a scam/ marketing trick invented in the 50s and i want our bands to match. I'm marrying you not trying to impress other women. |

Question: Is this a good wedding date ? Posted: 28 Oct 2017 11:01 AM PDT Me and my fiancée are getting married next week on November 4th. It's my cousins birthday and a few days before my sisters birthday. Me and her have been together for 5 years. I love her she's my best friend. Also me and her are about the same age also it's kind of cool that last week I just turned 21 last week she turned 23 today. Sure she's older than me but I don't care. What do you think of November 4th as our wedding date ? |

Question: Advice on missing my best friends wedding? Posted: 27 Oct 2017 07:51 AM PDT My best friend moved across the country. I am currently a stay at home mom of two. They are doing a small ceremony with parents. She completely understands that I won't be there however it is still hitting both of us pretty hard. I want to send her something special but I don't know what to send. I want to write her something to read on her wedding day but I'm horrible with words and I have no clue what I should send. |

Question: What traditions (new, old, and borrowed) should I incorporate into my wedding? Posted: 26 Oct 2017 01:07 PM PDT I was raised in an American household but the wedding traditions here do not speak to me. I have seen things like the sand ceremony, tying the knot, jumping the broom, and exchange of rings. However, none of these really appeal to me. What other traditions could I use myself, either new or old, or modelled after other's cultural wedding rituals. |
Posted: 26 Oct 2017 11:16 AM PDT Also, we have a few but curious what other songs that we can walk back up the aisle after pronouncing man and wife and entering into the reception. We prefer something from the 00' back but anything. |

Posted: 25 Oct 2017 10:59 AM PDT Bf is 33 and I am 30. He insists that he wants to be married for at least a year before trying to have kids. I don't have a problem with that but Id prefer not to be having kids after 35 for many reasons (mostly poor genetics) Id rather not go into depth for. We've been dating about a year and a half and I found out he was going to propose within the next month or so yesterday. However, 3 weeks ago he severely caused nerve damage when he broke his ankle. The diagnosis he has for the nerve damage is at least 6 months to be able to walk, this doesn't include being able to walk well such as going hiking or on long walks. He is saying hed rather propose when he can walk well as his plans involved that. However, I am worried about this due to the amount of time this injury will take, plus needing a year to plan a wedding and his statement he wants to be married for awhile before kids. I tried to tell him I don't need a fancy creative proposal where he is able to walk well but I don't think he gets it. This wouldn't bother me as much if we were younger. |
