Question: Dinner before the wedding. Questions, not sure how to make it perfect. I need advice!!!? Posted: 05 Oct 2015 07:19 PM PDT My soon to be husband and I are having a dinner at a fancy steakhouse before the wedding, its on us! However, it is at a fancy expensive restaurant. If anybody orders an apptizer, besides us because its our special day so only were getting an appitizer, or a dish over $40 (most are around $38), my husband and I thought it would be funny if we made them sit in the front in chairs that say "Section reserved for selfish guests" and we made fun little dunce caps like in the dutch schools for them to wear, saying "Greedy". Clever right? because that is greedy and you dont order expensive meals when other people are paying. Plus only we can have drinks, everyone else must have water because we want to feel special. Im sure the guests will understand. Also, NO DESSERT. There are 26 of us so we are all splitting a creme brulee, a brownie, a slice of cheesecake, and mixed berries. Nobody is to order personal desserts. This is fair right? |
Question: Charge a $25 admission to a wedding. Fair, right? Posted: 05 Oct 2015 07:14 PM PDT It's $25 to enter and $8.99 a pound at the buffet during the reception. We will set up booths to collect money. These weddings are expensive! Plus, wedding cake is $9 a slice and you have to stand when eating or you can pay $14.95 to get a seat at a table. Plus, we are using real utensils, so a fork knife and spoon are $3. This sounds fair. I don't want to spenr a lot of money. Is this reasonable or should I lower my prices? |
Posted: 05 Oct 2015 07:09 PM PDT I figured i'd look nice since it is my friends wedding. I bought a dress that was $22,000! It is just like a wedding dress! Also, i figured since it is my friends wedding I would help her out and do the dirty work so I am gonna walk around thanking everyone for coming. My husband is a great dancer, so we asked my friend if we could SPLIT the center of the dance floor to make it even. That's a fair proposal. She gets the center of the dance floor for 1 hour and I get it for 1 hour as well. She was stunned when I asked her, like its a crime. Why? |
Question: I am going to ask people to pay to eat at my wedding.? Posted: 05 Oct 2015 07:04 PM PDT I just dont want to spend the money for a full fancy meal with appitizers entrees desserts and drinks its outrageous and greedy for everyone to get it for free! S, popcorn and soda is free. I attached a menu on my invitation. What do you think? Please join us. Include your order on the back. Appitizers: Bruschetta-$12 Fried Calamari-$14 Garden Salad-$11 Entrees: Pan Roasted Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and Market Vegetables-$31 Chilean Sea Bass with Fettucini Alfredo-$28 14 o.z. NY Strip with Fried Onions and Steak Fries-$42 Sides: Mashed Potatoes-$9 Steak Fries-$8 Market Vegetables-$7 Fettucini Alfredo-$10 Desserts: NY Cheesecake with Preserves-$13 Creme Brulee with Coffee Gelato-$14 A Slice of Wedding Cake-$6 Drinks: Soda-$5 Beer-$11 Punch-$5 Champagne-$19 a glass NO SUBSTITUTIONS. We are charging half price for wedding cake to make it special. We can afford it it is just so expensive so everyone should chip in. There is also a dancing policy-The middle of the floor is for the bride and groom ONLY. Photos are $8 each. We are giving half price meals to anyone who comes early to help us set up, we didn't hire many people. Is this fair? I think so, should I charge less? Also, is it even necessary to have any reception or can we just send everyone home after the wedding ceremony. |

Question: Which of these engagement rings do you like the best? Posted: 05 Oct 2015 03:01 PM PDT My partner/fiance and I have been together for 20 years, and we have 4 kids. Their ages are 17, 15, 14 and 14. We are getting married in December. I only wanted a plain platinum wedding ring, but my partner/fiance wants me to have an engagement ring too. So now I'm on the fence. I like these two rings quite a bit, but I can only have one. Please keep in mind that my wedding will be plain. We are going to order one of this week. Our engagement photos will be taken around the beginning of November. Which of these engagement rings do you like the best? My two favorites: 1: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Z8EUMVK?keywords=three%20stone%20rings&nodeID=9539896011&qid=1444082099&ref_=sr_1_5&refinements=p_n_feature_sixteen_browse-bin%3A5855018011%7C5855019011%2Cp_n_material_two_browse-bin%3A114275011&s=apparel&sr=1-5 2: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RHHSGIC?keywords=three%20stone%20rings&nodeID=9539896011&qid=1444082099&ref_=sr_1_1&refinements=p_n_feature_sixteen_browse-bin%3A5855018011%7C5855019011%2Cp_n_material_two_browse-bin%3A114275011&s=apparel&sr=1-1 |
Question: What colors go with my wedding theme? Posted: 05 Oct 2015 11:35 AM PDT Our wedding theme is going to be a fall fairy tale, the problem is finding colors that match the theme. We want fall flowers and we need a color or colors that would look good with them but we don't want orange. I really like a light blue but I think that might be more of a spring color than fall. Maybe a royal blue? Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks! |
Question: Advice on proposal idea? Posted: 05 Oct 2015 11:08 AM PDT I coordinated with our local movie theater that my girlfriend and I go to all the time. The idea is to get a ticket printed with, "Will you marry me?" Before the movie starts an employee would go in front of the audience and announce a chance to win a prize to someone with the winning movie ticket? A picture of the ticket would appear on the big screen and at that point I would hand my girlfriend her ticket. From there I'd get on a knee and ask the big question. A couple of my buddies would be a few rows behind us before we arrived to take pictures and video. Expecting an applause and a good reaction from her. Is this a bad idea or to much? Also, she is expecting a proposal soon, since we have been talking about getting married lately. I want to involve something we do regularly so it can be a complete surprise and she doesn't see it coming. Thanks |

Question: Should I give my stepfather the FOTB role in my wedding? Posted: 05 Oct 2015 10:23 AM PDT My stepfather married my mom when I was 10. My dad died the year before, but my parents weren't together at the time. Though my mom and him tried, they never had kids together. My stepfather used to try to replace my dad, which means our relationship isn't what my mom would like it to be. I don't see him as my dad and I understand he only did what he thought was right. But to this day he doesn't understand that nobody, even the best man in the world, could replace my dad. He was my dad and I loved him more than anything. My mom pulled me aside not too long ago and said she hoped I was planning on asking my stepfather to give me away and do the father/daughter dance at the wedding. The only reason she brought this up is because she saw my granddad (dads dad) leaving my house not long after I got engaged. When I told her I'd already asked my granddad, she left and didn't speak to me for two weeks. However, my stepfather called and told me he hoped I would reconsider. Should I give him the role? I have always been close to my granddad and he's my dads dad, so I feel a strong desire for him to do it for those reasons. Neither of them is paying for or contributing financially the wedding. |

Question: Wedding gown or formal dress? Posted: 05 Oct 2015 07:33 AM PDT So I'm getting married in November 6th. Its going to be a small wedding. I'm having someone officiant the wedding at my moms than after we are going with 40 of our closet friends and family to a dinner. I'm confused on the type of dress I should I get. I tired on a beautiful wedding gown and its perfect but I feel like it will be too dramatic for the small affair we will be having. Should I not care and get it or should I find a dress more suitable for the occasion? |

Question: Bachelor Party Worries ? Posted: 05 Oct 2015 07:28 AM PDT Okay so me & my fiance are under 21. But anyways , I'm worried about the bachelors party. I mean I wouldn't want him touching some other girl or some girl dancing all over him before we get married? I think that's what his brothers are planning for him & I really don't want that. I know that he wouldn't want me going to a male strip club or something. Do Husbands Usually Tell Their Wives They Did At The Bachelor Party After They Get Married? |

Posted: 04 Oct 2015 11:35 PM PDT He s in a manager position. I m worried he may feel attached (already started to feel it the morning of) and may want a relationship with me. But I just want to stay friends/coworkers. Is this something I should bring up? Or not necessary. |
