Posted: 19 Oct 2015 05:15 PM PDT So in the cafeteria at school they changed it up and now only 8 people can sit at a table, they used to be rectangular tables with 10+ seats. We have 9 people at our table (the tables are round, and were not allowed to pull up extra chairs, plus there aren't extra chairs anyway). My best friend, Lena, who I moved there to be with at lunch, had to sit at another table at the other side of the lunchroom. The other girls at the table want her back and they don't like me so they're kicking me out. They told this very hostile and loud girl, Gina, to say to me "we're kicking you out", basically. I thought one of the girls at the table was my friend, Ariana, but she was one of the people to join in the decision to kick me out. I have no other friends and have no where to go, because every single chair is taken, and even if there was one chair in the whole lunchroom for me to sit in, almost everyone hates me so they'd try to kick me out or talk to the guidance counselor because they don't want me to sit next to them. What can I do? I have other acquaintances but some of their friends hate me and would hate for me to sit with them. I know this sounds silly, but people are this serious about it. |

I haven't had problems with her before and I thought of her as a close friend, but this grade I have all classes with her. The thing is, she started to one up me whenever I'm talking to my friends. We were taking a surprise test on how many states we still remember, I got 34 right, that's cool. She overhears and tells me she got all 50. I remember 30 digits of pi, that's pretty amazing, but she then tells me she can remember 50 (I don't know who told her what I've been telling to my friends privately). I can aced a concerto on the violin, she says she already knew how to play that before me and is telling me that she's ahead of me. I really don't understand why she does this. I used to feel I was fairly intelligent, but ever since she's been informing me about all her one ups, I feel like I'm an idiot. It's started to affect how I do in school, I always think about her one ups during tests or presentations and I mess up, so this is impacting my grade. Any help? She hasn't started doing it as much anymore because I talked to her about it and she stopped, but I keep thinking about all her one ups and it's killing me. |

The first time I learned of the violence she told me that he said he would kill her, her family and her friends if she or anyone else ever called the police. We live im a somewhat small college town and he has a lot of connections. Friends always told her to call the police but she begged them not to. Im not a confrontational person at all. I was always there to listen to her cry about him and talk about how she felt trapped. I tried not to judge her and tried to sugar coat what I said to be considerate. Every other friend was more straight forward. During this time I was finishing up undergrad & starting dating a mutual friend of ours. I wasn't really home a lot and I could tell she was starting to get a little jealous especially because she had previously friend zoned him and now we were happily dating while she was miserable. Ultimately, i think she feels like I wasn't there for her like I should have been. I think she secretly wanted someone else to take the responsibilty of putting him in jail, but I was also scared! She ignored everyone's advise but then would say she felt like no one cared about her. The abuse turned her into a shady, untrustworthy person and eventually she lost people around her. I feel like I could have done more but i felt trapped too! She didnt want to stay at a shelter, he knew where the rest of our friends lived. She wanted someone to save her & nobody knew how. Yet, i think she hates me the most. Sometimes I think she hates me for being happy. |

To the untrained eye, I may look lonely or even "unlikable"--cuz right now, I'm alone a lot. But I "had it all" once--but that doesn't mean it was RIGHT for me! The majority of people (including me) going is a freshman and it is my first high school party that I'm going to since I'm not really one of the most popular people. Anyway I'm not sure what this party is going to be like (drinking/partying or just normal) Apparently the hostess' parents are pretty laid back and since I don't go to the school i haven't heard anyone talking about it. It's finally our Senior year in high school and I'm honestly feeling disappointed about our friendship. I just can't let go because she's my only friend I can go talk to whenever I need someone to be with. I tried to not be her friend but I couldn't help it. I talked about it with her and she tells me how whenever I look upset or mad that I never talk about it and I just keep quiet. But as a best friend you should at least ask if they are ok or not. (she doesn't do that, so I have to bring it up for her myself) She sits there and doesn't say anything and just talk to her other friends or her boyfriend and act as if she sees nothing going on with me. Whenever I see her upset though I would always be there for her. I really don't know what to do with our friendship anymore. They ignored me all weekend, then the girl got in a huge verbal fight with me in the car on the way back. I invited her over later to talk it out, which we did, but I still have an emotional and physical reaction when I think about them or think about seeing them. I am worried that their presence will affect me on our wedding day. | Question: My friend becomes my bully!! Nees help? Posted: 19 Oct 2015 11:40 AM PDT Last year in 7th grade I moved. On the 2 week going to school there there was a girl calling sarah (a girl I become friends with) that thing and fatty. I stood up for her and a year later I am still friends with her. I am now in 8th grade and soon learned why sarah dose not have any friends besides me. She is very touchy and dose not respect my space or personal belongings, is very bossy, and I got in a physical fight with her when she hit me I hit her back and she twisted my arm and I scratched her and made her bleed to get her to stop. ( I am MUCH smaller than her) The other day she was acting like she was going to spill milk on my friend and slipped a little and it got all over my best friend. I started yelling at her because of this and expressed my self to her and how a feel. Then she said "that is just my personality I guess we are not friends any more." I said okay. I just got a text and I answered is this okay |

Posted: 19 Oct 2015 11:26 AM PDT so I went to my fwb house picked him up and when I picked him up he saw me & immedietly hugged me after I was driving he got my arm and basically kept hugging my arm after our hangout before the usual fwb stuff happened he hugged my arm again & said "I want you to love me" & when I asked "u want me to?" he didn't have a response just kept hugging onto me kinda confusing to me & recently he's kinda pulled himself back it's probably noting but idk |
| Question: Having a campfire with several friends... Ideas of what to do? Posted: 19 Oct 2015 11:13 AM PDT I am inviting several friends (as is my sister) over for a campfire since we couldn't have a big party at our farm this year like we usually do (with a band, hayrides, pony rides, etc). Very relaxed and chill, just having fun sitting and talking. Costumes optional, since it's not an actual party. We're going to have candy, soda, water, possibly take turns riding my horse, marshmallows/smores, hotdogs/hamsburgers, etc. My friends and I are in the 20-23yo range, and I just want to make sure that this isn't lame and that everyone has fun. My sister and her friends are 13-14. Thanks for any tips or ideas you can give. |
| Question: How can i hate someone who i love ? Posted: 19 Oct 2015 11:07 AM PDT Hey internet. i just have a problem with one of my friends( or probably my best friend). Now he always mocks me when we are not alone. he always underestimates me and makes me feel so unimportant and he is using me now. i helped him whenever he asked for help and i always was on his side and i was kind to him . but now when i see he treats strangers much better than me and im so unimportant to him , it realy makes me upset . i tried to forgive him and leave him but then i remebered the time we spent together and in the end i ended up being with him again . I think hating him is the only choice i have but i dont know how. I dont know what is it but with all things he has done to me i still love him but i dont want to love him! what can i do? |

| Question: How to get over a best friend break up? Posted: 19 Oct 2015 11:04 AM PDT My best friend stopped speaking to me because of someone spreading rumors about me which weren't true. My best friend has always had our ups and downs but still stayed closer then ever. Now she's literally stopped speaking. She hates my guts and is ignoring me like I don't exist. I've even told her I'll even prove that these rumors ain't true.. But she doesn't want to know and spreads those rumours around... How do I get over the break up? |

| Question: How to be more relatable? Posted: 19 Oct 2015 10:57 AM PDT I am a pretty opinionated person. When someone says something,(depending on what it is) it is in my nature to want to have a discussion about it, and I might bring up a different view on the topic, however, people see this as me being intimidating and disagreeable. Obviously no one wants a disagreeable and intimidating friend, so how can i be more relatable and agreeable? |
