How much did it cost and what kind of services did they provide? Would you do it there again? By wedding I mean reception I realized too late what I wrote.

I got engaged the other month. I spent all the fun money on a new house (down payment etc) and her family doesn't have really squat in the bank so we are sorta in a bind. We don't like big weddings. I could quite frankly care less about the whole scam. She's frustrated to the point that if she's not going to get a twilight wedding then she'd rather do little to nill. I want to get this thing done this year as big tax savings + insurance is at hand. With that said I wanted to put my money on a honey moon which I do have money for. I'm sure her family has a couple-small few k to something really small and nice for the ceremony/reception if that even is what you'd call this at this point. ;-D Ideas? ..Something that's comfy and easy to put together like the backyard but still nice... ..I live in Chicago if that matters..

I'm embarrassed to tell them because we've only been dating 6 months, when I brought up marrying this girl to my brother he told me he wouldn't come to the wedding if we did because he thinks it's not what i wouldn't want to do the weddings suppose to be march 20th and nobody in my family knows what do I do my fiance wants to have an engagement party on November 15th how do I tell them without them getting upset

A close friend of mine is getting married and she asked me to be a bridesmaid. Problem is, I would have to buy the dress which is expensive, and she also wants to do the whole bachelorette in Vegas thing. I'm already living paycheck to paycheck and I just can't afford any of that. I know that if I told her how broke I am, she would probably pick somewhere other than Vegas (she's a sweetheart like that). But I don't want her to do that - it's her wedding, she should get to do what she wants. At the same time, if I say I can't but don't give her a good reason, she'll be really hurt. What do I do?
