I spoke with Snapchat support, but they weren't very helpful. I can bet that someone else has had this issue before. I have this person on my friends list, and they appear to be added on my side. I see this persons Snap stories, but when I tried to send a snapchat nothing happened. It didn't say pending, error sending or anything. It was like it never sent. Could this mean they unfriended me, and have it set to only accept Snaps from friends? Anyone ever had this issue? |

A month ago, I invited Friends A and B on a trip to a huge shopping mall about an hour away from where we live. Since we started high school this year and none of us have classes together, it is pretty much mandatory to hang out outside of school in order to stay close. I was never much of a hang-out-after-school-every-day kind of person like my friends (especially A), so this was big for me. We had a genuinely good time. I didn't feel left out like I usually do in trios, and we still had plenty of fun both car rides, singing along with songs and such. Since then, I have only "hung out" with these friends once, when I caught a ride with A and one of her friends to go to a school football game, where I pretty much stuck with B and a friend of ours (Friend C) the whole time. A week or two ago, I found out that that C is in a group chat with B and a couple of their friends as well as a third best friend of mine, all of whom I am friendly with. At school, C shows me conversations and photos exchanged in the group chat that I am not included in. I also happen to have the numbers of everyone in the group chat except for two people. Today I got multiple Snapchats from A and B, all obviously showing they hung out together without me. I feel a bit hurt, since I invited them on that trip a month ago and no one has reached out to me since then. Am I overreacting? |

Posted: 12 Oct 2015 05:02 PM PDT Please no rude answers. i feel absolutely terrible and im in tears writing this. not that its an excuse at all but i went through alot of awful stuff this summer (i wont get into it) and hated myself. i didnt handle it well at all. this girl Gina and i became friends and shes the sweetest most caring person ever. i did an awful thing when she started dating my ex who i was still inlove with. i tried everything to control myself but i just couldnt no matter how hard i tried. i had this fake account that i would say awful stuff and harrass her on everyday and i talked horrible stuff behind her back. it went on for a month or so but now i think she found out i did it because she read my messages and wont talk to me. But as i look back, i realize what i did was just horrible and she didnt deserve it. So my first question is should i apologize?. but if i do, i run the risk of her finding out cause idk if she knows for sure its me. And HOW should i apologize? please help, i feel so bad that its making me sick |

Ive made plenty of friends, I think... But they never ask me to do anything with them. I always have to ask them if I can come along. Or else they just go places and do things without me. Im not clingy, and Im not very passive. I don't ask them every single time they go some where either, I know how to give people space. But it's just making me feel so lonely now that it kind of hurts. They won't call me first, text me first, I literally have to force myself into their lives and it just doesn't feel good to me. I decided to just stop texting and messaging and calling people all together to see how long it'd be before someone decided to send me a message first asking me how my day was or if I wanted to do something. It's been almost a year now... not a single person. Not one. Last couple of weeks i tried messaging people and calling, but noones even responding to me. Yet they post on FB every day with their phones about the things they are doing with all their friends. About the people they are glad to have met... and I'm never one of those people :/ It's like I never even existed to them. We always got along so great I thought. We laughed, we had things to talk about, same interests and all, I was never mean to anyone. I'll even be the one to buy them meals sometimes when I tagged along with them and they all looked so happy... Soon as I stopped being the initiator though... this :/ |

They found out my friend wasn't there and that I had lied. I forgot I had told my auntie that I was going there to see a guy and she told my parents. I want to go back and see him again but I don't want my parents finding out. I'm planning to go see my friend that they know about but after spending a few days with her I am going to leave there and fly to where the guy lives which is in a different state. I started college a month ago and everything was great at first: I met a ton of people through my roommate (she had been there a week already) and had a fun group of friends, as well as being close with my roommate. Now, everything is different. I got tired of all the petty high school drama going on (as well as frat parties) so I stopped hanging out with that group of friends, as did my roommate. And now she has decided to transfer schools, so I won't even have a roommate. I've met some people through my classes but I don't really feel like they're my "niche" or whatever. I joined a club as well and am meeting people through that, but it doesn't meet very often. To make things worse, my school is mostly for commuters so not many people live on campus. I just feel lonely because it seemed like I had a bunch of friends, but now a month in everyone is ditching the group and done with partying. Everything is completely different and I feel depressed. My best friend lives in a different state than me (she's about to move back though) and her homecoming was the same weekend as mine. Basically, her and her friends were drinking that night, which I trusted her not to do. She tells me the next morning and I'm kinda tiffed, because she says it was okay because one of her friend's older brothers was there, and she didn't drink that much. I dismiss that and say her friends up there are bad influences and she gets super angry at me and ignores me. I've apologized many times profusely for overreacting, but she's still ignoring me three days after. I'm pretty sure she hates me because she was talking crap about me to one of my other friends. She moved away after our graduation in May. I haven t seen her since, and I haven t even skyped her since July. She went off to graduate school this fall. Our argument happened the day she was supposed to come in town, and I hadn t even seen her yet. She told me she d be getting in around 7:00, but she d be going straight to her boyfriend s. This left me pretty disappointed, as she had seen him two weeks previously, once over the summer, and has been skyping him at school (I have also been asking to skype her and she always tells me she is busy). I told her that I was pretty disappointed (those were my exact words) and that I felt she was prioritizing her boyfriend over her friends. All her response was to launch in to a long explanation of how busy and tired she was and it wasn t personal. She ignored my complaint and didn t address the inequity at all. In fact she even became angry that I was "comparing her relationship with me to her boyfriend", which I didn t at all. She has always complained about girls who prioritize boyfriends over friends (and in fact has ended friendships over it) and now she tells me I m being ridiculous. So what do you think? |

Posted: 12 Oct 2015 03:17 PM PDT My desk is right next to the water fountain so my friend just pretends to drink water, then reaches into my desk and takes my stuff. When i try to take it back he just runs back to his desk across the room. I want to tell on him so bad but i don't want to seem like a snitch. Just today after school he took my whole pencil box and told me when we were about to leave the school. I was soo pissed but when i tried to take it out of his backpack he ran away so im planning to tell the teacher tomorrow but i dont want to seem like a snitch. Before school starts, we have to wait outside before the doors open and we can get to class. So every morning I meet with my new group of friends. We'll call this girl the annoying girl. I was in some sort of lobby and I ran into this girl I had a huge crush on high school . She was really drunk and real angry. Not at me but she was just throwing a tantrum by screaming the f word and throwing stuff all over the place. It ended with me and her dad carrying her out to her dad's car. Then her dad was accusing me of getting her drunk and I woke up. I'm 25 now and I haven't even thought of her since freshman year of college which is weird. Plus she was all anti alcohol/ anti drugs when I knew her. Also 2 weeks ago I got a DUI so I'm wondering if that contributes to this dream. |

Posted: 12 Oct 2015 02:22 PM PDT Hi,so I have a guy friend who I've known for the past few weeks & kind of confused on whether or not to keep his friendship. The reason being is his home life. He is currently married to someone who belittles him, treats him poorly, and basically treats him like a glorified babysitter/housekeeper. He has stressed to me that he wants a divorce and needed help. Of course I helped him get any info, and even referred him to another friend of mine who went through a divorce as well. The thing is he is a really caring, loving, and considerate person & although he really wants to be happy in his life & leave her, he wants to remain the great dad he is & always have access to his kids. I completely agree and hope so as well. The issue is I want to know if I am being a good friend in still being there for him to talk to & listen when ultimately he is still so unhappy. I'm afraid that he will go back into deep depression or worse and feel like a better friend would do something more. I'm not trying to nose my self in the marriage, but how could I be a "good friend" when I hear the pain in his voice, and all the dilemmas from day to day. Its essentially like if I stayed being friends with a drug addict and if they died I know I would feel completely guilty for not doing more. So should I just sit back and just be there as long as it takes or move on and end our friendship because it hurts me seeing him being treated so bad? Thanks. |

One of their names was Kyle, he became my best friend in 3rd grade I believe, at first I thought he was a little mean, every recess we would go outside and play basketball and he would play a little rough, despite me being a girl. He was always like that. But then one day, he started being nice to me, then a second day, then a third. I KNEW something was going on, but I didn't say anything, I guess I just really enjoyed the nice treatment... Well on the third day we started playing basketball, just like always, and it looked like he was crying. His eyes were a little red and I asked him what was wrong but he told me it was nothing. Of course I didn't believe him. At the end of recess, when the bell rung, I started to run to class when he stopped me, he said "R I have to tell you something." I said " Yeah?" And his eyes started to water. "I'm leaving." He said. I couldn't remember if he said his mom had a job or something but he told me that he would be back in a year. I said "So this is it?" And he nodded. "Well at least give me a handshake or something." And that was it. Then 2 weeks later my other best friend, Angelica told me she was leaving.. From then on, everything came crashing down, I had no friends at school, I got bullied, I had nightmares about Kyle and Angelica... But regardless, I stayed until I graduated. The thing is I haven't gotten that far in the Quran, and I think she would find out if she asks for help, or want me to recite it for her Abdulmalik: No, it is not good to constantely compare yourself to other people, and drag other people down in the process.. Yes, she invite me to Islamic stuff, and I am grateful.. But, she is always like: I am better than you in the Quran"; or "How have you gotten that far in the Quran" etc... ppl need to stay in their lane We are both black, but she is lightskinned and always talking how beautiful her light her skin is.. And always comparing color-shades.. I get really good grades too, and I have accomplished a lot.. She always have to bring up my accomplishment when we are togheter. I feel like she want to feel superior.. but maybe it is only in my head. |

Every time I made a friend, he/she is take away from me by someone who is jealous or hates me for no reason. My family had to report two bullies before because it became pretty severe when I was young. Also when I meet someone who can become a best friend, they use me or eventually leave me. Now I can't trust anyone, even those who are nice to me. My parents even complain to me about how I'm such a loner and that I suck at making friends. They bug me to stop being such a homebody and hangout with people every week. The one person that might hangout with me bails and cancels on me every time we plan something. I can't leave that person because I don't have anyone else. Seriously, I've tried to make other friends, but I just don't fit in. Is there something wrong with me? I'm quite introverted. I feel like I've exhausted all my options. |

I recently moved to a new area a people in the area are older and younger than me. I'm also the type of person to be friends with people my age and like the things I do. my father says I need to get over it and just txt to friends but I like to hang out with people but of course I can't do that because of my mom. I don't want to be bored anymore me and my mother barely talk. also my friend's father forbids her to stay at my house. all I can do is text her because she doesn't like talking to me in front of him because he's around her 24/7. please I need to find comfort in any of the answers you have. |

I still love her just as much as day one. She says she loves me, but has lost interest in me physically. She doesn't spend alone time with me anymore. She always has friends or family over, so we are never alone. My emotions and thoughts are like a roller coaster because her not loving me like she used to makes me feel worthless and unattractive, which I try to talk to her about, but nothing ever changes. Feeling so bad in this relationship makes me think leaving is a good idea, that I have a chance of being happy again someday in another situation, but I honestly love her, even though she doesn't love me the same way, and leaving her would hurt me just as much as it would her, if not more. I don't want to have to ever be without her, that's why I am so hurt. I have to choose between being with my dream girl but not feeling loved, or being without her for the rest of my life. I feel physical emptiness and nausea, because the feelings are so extreme. Now, her brother, who lives with us, is leaving to go to school. Leaving two empty rooms in our house, and she wants to let one of her friends, and one of her cousins move in. I do everything she asks and more, but she only ever does what she wants to do. All of my effort is wasted. I'm still empty. I just want to feel happy again. Right now, I feel trapped and invisible. I need help. Any advice would be wholeheartedly appreciated. I've tried everything so far, no luck. |

I live with this other girl, she is just a friend and she became friends with this girl because I would always have her over. One night before my roommate knew about her, I got drunk with her at a party and we made out and then she said she was unavailable and said she still wanted to see me. Then I kept seeing her and nothing really changed. She kept coming by a lot, even more after she told me she was unavailable at the moment. I then asked this girl out and she said she can't go out this week but can in the future she just wants to figure somethings out. She has some stressful stuff happen like her parents not paying for school but there are options. She said she wants to go out though. Im just going to patiently wait until shes not to stressed out I guess? She might have an old boyfriend she is still dealing with but if she does she never sees the guy because she is at my house everyday |

For example, when I say I don't feel good, she all of a sudden doesn't feel well either. But everyone can tell I don't feel well because they say to me "wow you look so pale are you feeling alright?" Then my friend asks other people if she seems like she doesn't feel well and they say no. Also, I told her I was redecorating my room and suddenly she is too and I told her I wanted purple as a color and just now she texted me a picture of her room which is the exact color that I wanted! One last example. Ok so she's been hanging out with my new group of friends. I made that new group so I don't only have her as a friend. Now I feel like she is stealing them from me! They do secret hand shakes and stuff they never did that with me. We are in middle school btw. I'm not sure if they are doing that just to be nice to her or what. We're moving out to a condo together. We lived together before but she had a financial crash and she had to go back home. The problem is, I believe that it's too far (it's downtown) I've tried expressing this to her but she wouldn't listen. Also, she doesn't realize that my bedroom is the size of a walking closet, which is unfair. The reason why she wants this place is because it's close to her work. Now, I tried telling her and she completely ignored me and changed the subject, I was pissed. I'm also thinking about quitting my job because my boss is a pervert. She also doesn't understand this. I'm tired of this. If this was you, what would you do? If I tell her I can't move in with her (she absolutely won't look for another place) then our friendship is over. And she'll hate me. | Question: How many people are like this? Posted: 12 Oct 2015 11:07 AM PDT I have this really weird friend I go to college with. All he does is work and study and he's really a huge bummer. I invited him to go to the Halloween park with me this coming Saturday, and he replied "why?" I said it will be fun, but he asked "what's the point?", "to get scared!" "How do they scare you?" They chase you around with chain saws, and there's a haunted house at the end" he raised eyebrows and said "so what happens if they catch you?" I just said umm... and he said "see! There's no point!" Instantly, everybody was bummed out. Also we finally got him to come to a party. He stated for like 15 minutes and then stopped the entire party criticizing everyone saying "what's wrong with you people! All you do is come here and get drunk every weekend! You could be at work right now or at least studying! This is completely non-productive and foolish!" Then he left saying he needed to study fr an exam saying every minute he spends here is a point off the grade he will get. I get that he worries about his grades and I think it's probably good, but he says he has no time to do anything fun. |
