| Question: Why Do People Care If I Talk Or Not? Posted: 11 Oct 2015 05:10 PM PDT Are people that insecure that if someone doesn't talk it makes them feel uncomfortable? I mean, what is it that makes people care if I talk or not. I'm a introverted person, not shy though.. People often confuse these two. I'm a senior in high school and have never really talked to anyone, unless I'm spoken to of coarse. Now that i'm a senior, people are demanding me to "talk" to them before we leave high school. But why should I? I'm not bothering anyone. I mind my own business. I do my work. I respect people. I do everything I need to. However, people feel the need to come up in my face and ask me why I don't talk, if i'm going to talk this year, or ask other people if I talk. Of coarse I talk! I just don't feel the need to talk unless I legitimately have something to say or need to. I prefer to observe people and think to myself. I find people who talk too much extremely annoying. I find people who come up to me and ask why I don't talk instead of starting a conversation annoying as well. I'd much prefer someone to start a conversation instead of straight up asking me why I don't talk. But seriously though, why do people care if I talk or not? |

He said he had to get it off his chest so I wouldn't find out through anyone else .....why? We have 0 mutual friends,not the same social circle, we're not even friends on fb, so what anyone else would I find out through? Was he feeling guilty? I would not go out of my way to tell him |

She only found out this morning that her friend had died of cancer a few hours ago. My mom had no idea about the cancer. It seems her friend didn't want to tell her at first because it wasn't bad, but recently it turned out to be much worse than they thought and she died.Also, I think she blames herself for not talking to her best friend recently because she has been very busy with work and her writings. What should I do? |

Posted: 11 Oct 2015 04:11 PM PDT My best friend has depression and anxiety issues and I ve helped her with it and that s how we became best friends, well in my eyes. And a couple hours ago she said that it would be better if we were no longer friends. I was very very shocked. And she said it was because she was gonna be gone soon and she thought it would be better to get away from me now. In my eyes she s always been my best friend and I thought that s how she s been seeing things but apparently she hasn t. And she said she doesn t know how I have the nerve to call her my best friend. Her anxiety has rubbed off on me and I ve been very close to ending my life as well but she stopped me from it and now that she s gone I won t have anyone to stop me from doing it. I know I more than likely have to get over her leaving me but I have her for 5/6 periods and she sits near me in ALL of them. 2nd period she sits next to me, 3rd period she has a different pe teacher but her locker is right next to mine. 4th she sits next to me, 5th she sits 1 seat away from me, and 6th she sits behind me. How am I supposed to get over someone I see all the time? Please help me get the anger out in a positive way instead of ending it all in a destructive and stupid way. Please please help, I ll take any advice. |

I'm a sophomore in high school and I'm in such a stand-still in my social life. Anyway, I constantly try to converse among my peers and recently started becoming more active in after school activities. However, I feel like I always get the shaft when talking to people in school, especially old friends that I never had any problems talking to. Like, they are totally disinterested in what I have to say. I am not stupid;I can sense that! And it's really taking a toll on how I view myself and I can't really talk to anyone about this. I feel like I'm very friendly, accepting, outspoken, and take very good care of myself physically(I've even gotten stares from both guys and girls). But in my school, everyone, including the incoming freshmen, have their own little group and I stand alone looking like the odd man out! It's either me having to pretend that I have things to do on the weekend, or having to ALWAYS be the one to start the "conversation" with someone that amounts to nothing; since people don't care for me. I've really put effort into this move and I've really tried to make friends and like the band program and accept the fact that it's different but it's not been successful. I used to snowboard every Friday and Saturday and I used to play hockey and I used to have friends and a great band teacher with a great school and the people were nice and didn't make fun of my accent and I could have causal conversation without being made fun of! This move has ruined my metal health and I haven't had one of those moments where you just can't stop laughing since I moved and I just wanna go home and watch the seasons change! My siblings are back in Minnesota and it's just me all alone here! I feel so alone and I can't sleep. I've tried to be happy here I really have but I hate it and I'm crying while I write this and I'm sorry I wrote so much I just don't know what to do! I think she has some sort of depression because she has a lot of up's and down's, gets worked up over little things, and says she has a hard time showing her true feelings to people. I know that she's not being considerate of me, but I can't just leave her, especially when I see her a lot. However, I always see her hanging out with her friends and having a great time and never invites me to hang out. Whenever we plan something, she cancels them last minute, or something comes up. And when I ask her how her weekend was, she just says she was "working" or "studying", when I know through social media she went out more than twice. They know eachother for a long time, they understand eachother and used to be super close, they are a real team, they've had a very good friendship until she found out that he's interested in being more than friends with her. But they talked and they're happy with being good friends She's the flirtatious type, always hits on guys, even when he's with her, their relationship slowly escalated,treating him as trash, lash out to him, while he tries to keep holding on to her, to be there for her, only to keep getting hurt. Which became worse when I came. Ignoring him and so on. She hates me with a passion. My friend and I have been guessing it would be jealousy. I've had to console him many times in this brief period, keeps telling me he can't let go and would hate to see her alone because all her 'friends' come and go, nobody stays. He's a real sweetheart and I hate it to see him being so broken about all this. She moved away after our graduation in May. I haven t seen her since, and I haven t even skyped her since July. She went off to graduate school this fall. Our argument happened the day she was supposed to come in town, and I hadn t even seen her yet. She told me she d be getting in around 7:00, but she d be going straight to her boyfriend s. This left me pretty disappointed, as she had seen him two weeks previously, once over the summer, and has been skyping him at school (I have also been asking to skype her and she always tells me she is busy). I told her that I was pretty disappointed (those were my exact words) and that I felt she was prioritizing her boyfriend over her friends. All her response was to launch in to a long explanation of how busy and tired she was and it wasn t personal. She ignored my complaint and didn t address the inequity at all. In fact she even became angry that I was "comparing her relationship with me to her boyfriend", which I wasn't seeking to do. She has always complained about girls who prioritize boyfriends over friends (and in fact has ended friendships over it) and now she tells me I m being ridiculous. I think she's pretty insecure about the relationship, because I know her parents don't like him and I know another friend told her he didn't like him. I tried to handle it as delicately and as fairly as possible. So what do you think? |

A said okay, and brought the note to lunch and of course told me about it. A said that it was in Italian since C took Italian, and she gave me the note to translate and it was a love note. That might not seem like a big deal, but it really was. B liked him last year, and has been telling me since the beginning of the school year that she didn't like him anymore and liked his brother, so she lied to me. That got me mad and sad at the same time. Because not only that but when I asked B for his kik for the past 3 weeks she's told me no and that I had to earn it myself, when B really just wanted it to herself. And she had tried to embarrass me and she told C that I thought he was a "cool and cute guy" and that I was begging her for his kik ( when I wasn't begging I was just asking.) She had given me his kik the week before finally and I felt so betrayed that I texted C and told him about the note and offered to give it to him. When I did I felt kind of bad for doing that, because I had let a boy get between our relationship. Then I asked A to ask her why she had lied to me, and then B said that it was because use was jealous of me because I was "prettier" and had a "better chance." Which had made me feel even worse. Danielle and Steven moved from Kansas City, Missouri to Marion, Iowa on September 26th to go to her family, and to get him away from Ashley. Well, Ashley moved from Kansas City, Missouri to Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 29th. Steven continued to tell Ashley he loved her, and wanted to be with her. Even though, he s engaged to Danielle. Danielle and Steven have been fighting a lot recently, so they agreed to take a week apart. He told her, he was going to Kansas City, to stay with a friend for the week. But, in reality he bought a bus ticket to Tulsa, to go see Ashley. This relationship is doomed. I m her friend, I can t just tell her to leave him. But, I have no idea what to do. The job exhausts the heck out of me to say the least but I have been there 3 years and have great pay. My friends only call to drink. One of them has a birthday coming up. They all demand to drive 80 miles (I get up at 5am) and party until 2am after work. I said I can not do it after heavy lifting and driving all day. Every single one of these "friends" is mad at me. So after she moved, I got close to the one that didn't move (I'll call her Z and the one that moved will be D). So for a while Z and I were close and would talk a lot, but then I could just tell she got really irritated with me. I asked her if I could go trick or treating with her, and she just kind of shrugged and was like 'sure! No one else is going with me so I guess so' In a weird voice. She always hangs out with an old friend I have, who's pretty annoying, (I'll call her M). They always talk and get together and post selfies on Instagram. They never tell me, I just always find out. My depressions really bad lately and I have no one to talk to. I'm not just gonna go to a random adult because I have huge trust issues. But I can't talk to anyone anymore and it's really hard. I miss my best friend and it hurts me that she's irritated when I talk to her. In gymnastics, she always does strength assignments with M even though she used to always pick me. Recently I injured my ankle, and it's getting better to the point I can actually do skills. But now I want to quit gymnastics to get away from them. But if I do, I'll regret it. I, really jealous of M because I used to be better than her at gymnastics until I was injured. She's two years younger, so it's hard mentally for me and for my jealousy. | Question: This girl is stealing all of my friends away? Posted: 11 Oct 2015 01:57 PM PDT So im completely serious when i say shes stealingn all my friends because i only have 2 friends. One friend (ill call her T) has been best friends with this girl (ill call her G) that i dont know because she goes to another school for years. My other friend (ill call her F) has been very good friends with T before she even knew me. She recently met G through T and became friends with her. I met G once but we didnt really become friends yet. Anyway, now, T and F ALWAYS hang out with G and never invite me since im not really friends with G. They dont really invite me to anything anymore because now they do everything with G. They even went on a trip without me!! It hurts so much because they hang out with me all day at school but then outside of school, im not part of their "group" anymore. Im starting to feel really lonely and i knew im gunna get a lot of advice saying make new friends but i cant because i SUCK at it. Im very shy. Im 16 btw and a junior in hs. |

Posted: 11 Oct 2015 01:53 PM PDT Im, a guy, 15, and My high school is made up of kids from 5 different towns (Regional High School), I am not in one of the towns, and just started high school last year (I'm a softmore now). In freshman year, I had, and still have, alot of friends, around 50-100 maybe? But NONE of them invites me over to do anything. I hate just staying at home, looking at snapchats, and seeing how many of my friends are having fun without me. I can't blame them. From my town to theirs its a 30-40 minute drive. But I feel so lonely on weekends. I can't just stop being friends with all of them, then I will be friendless in and out of school. I don't know what to do to make them invite me. I have already tried asking some of them if I can come over to their houses when they were having people over, and they said "I can only have x amount of people over, maybe next week?" And thats the end. Can you guys help me? |

I told my boyfriend straight away the day after and apologized like 20 times, and he said it didn't even sound too bad and that he wasn't even slightly annoyed (which makes me think I didn't explain it well enough, because I wouldn't have been happy if it was him doing what I did) Even though he said it's alright I still feel awful because I pride myself on being very loyal and honest with him, I would never have done that if I wasn't on drugs/drunk, I feel terrible. What can I do to stop feeling so ****? |

But I don t have any close friends I can hang out with. In my dorm I am probably the only freshmen, and everyone else already have a group and they are never around. Also, it is very difficult to make friends in class rooms. There are a two people I got to know in my class, but they are already friends and always talk among themselves and never include me. So, my question is how do I make close friends in college? How do I join a group of friends or become a part of group and how do I make friends in college classrooms? But lately, one of them(A) teases me a lot, she jokes about my outfit, my "ancient" phone etc, and being sarcastic all the time, when we go shopping, she asks nobody but only me take her bags like a servant, for many times. What makes me so angry is that yesterday, six of us hanged out and A called a cab, while waiting of the cab, me and another friend B went to a cash machine.The cab has arrived when we got back, A told B, who was beside me to run cuz theres only five seat in the cab, so B and the others got on the cab and I was left alone. Then A made a big smile and told me to take another cab to meet them. I was sososososo mad and just got back home. I know it's only A's faultbit i dont want to be in their group anymore and I WANNA KICK HER BIG FAT *** REAL BAD, what should I do? |

I'm sure my daughter got it from her father. It makes me sad, but there's really nothing I can do. Sometimes I wish I could be cold too, but that can never happen since I'm the way I am. |

Posted: 11 Oct 2015 01:20 PM PDT Before i was friendless, last year my orginal friends, and i were friends, but then after a 1 week trip which i didn't go, and majority of my friends went, they had change their opinions about me. When they came back, they treated me harshly, and would exclude me in different things, such as making a groupchat with me. From that, i knew that i had no friends. Over the summer, this increased, and my orignal group of friends basically become a squad, and then there me, becuase i had nobody else to become friends with. This year in school, my orignal friends still acted the same as last year. Then, one day, i cried cause i felt really mad, and emotional, and only one of the friends from that group helped me, and the other just ignored me, but all they did was just let me sit with them after the crying. Now i know they don't want me to sit with them, but i don't have any friends to sit with, and they basically do stuff with me like having a birthday party without me. so what do i ?????? |

If you could help me I'd be really happy. My friend, let's call her Lollipop as an example name, copies almost everything I do. She copies my handwriting. She copies and takes credit for my artwork, and she copies my love of Pokemon. In 5th grade she copied my style of the way I draw my characters, so I had to change my style and let her keep the old one. :( Now, i know that she likes the way I draw, and I should be flattered that she would love my art so much that she would want to copy it, but I really don't like when people steal and take credit for the work I do. And if I don't get it right away, my parents eventually give in or get me what I want later on or in a different way, if that makes sense. But I always say thank you. Posted: 11 Oct 2015 11:53 AM PDT My friends and I sometimes play this "reverse" charades game, where: the team that is guessing has the WHOLE team stand up and act out the Movie/Person/Thing, while ONE person from the team guesses. I've noticed: when everyone is up there "acting out" the charade, usually the guesser doesn't look at everybody... I know that's just sheer logistics, but after a while... it gets annoying. It's like: Why am I up here, if you're just gonna ignore me? And actually: one guy probably felt the same way—he excused himself to use the bathroom, and stopped playing. LOL. I'm curious: Would u feel the same way? |

He seems really nice and like a great person. Well recently, I found out that his grandpa passed away, but he hasn't told this directly to me. | Question: Are we still friends? Posted: 11 Oct 2015 11:47 AM PDT Ok so I have/had a friend and we talked all summer break. In August (before school started) she said "I hope your in my classes. You've never been in my class before." And then School started and it seems we had no classes together. I never saw her Ever and the whole rest of the month of August and September she wasn't on her phone¿ I had absolutely no idea why. One day late in September I was on my way to the bus. She ran right up behind me and said "hey!!" I was like um ok hi! Cause it was awkward cause it's been a while :/ I can't remember what all she said exactly but she was about to say why she hasn't been online.... And then she saw another one of her friends and started talking to whoever it was.... And next thing I know, I'm on my bus. I still don't know why. September, I texted and called- no answer! And here in October, I'm still getting no answer. We use oovoo SO IT SAYS SHES ONLINE :/ and I called last night, no answer. I find it weird. At least one a week in the summer we called each other and talked for 30 to an hour to an hour and a half. What happened? Am I "not important" anymore cause she got new friends? |

She was having crummy day. Jackie loved it and has cherished the keychain for all these years. It was just a small token, but she adores it. Basically she has always seen me as her best friend and hangs out with me exclusively, and that day for her just cemented our friendship. Honestly though I really didn't do anything extravagant. PLUS I'm a pretty boring guy and people say I'm too nice. All I could ever do was just listen to Jackie and be honest with her. Why does Jackie like hanging out with me? I'm a guy btw. |
