My older brother died in Iraq in 2005 at 19 while helping fellow Marines. After that my mom began an affair,which at the time I didn't know what was. She would tell me she just saw a friend of hers and I couldn't tell about dad but didn't know why. She got pregnant and 9 months after my step-sister was born. My family shattered completely. Dad threw mom's things of of the house with our neighbor watching. Nowadays they're kinda friends but I still have some resentment to this day. I'm friendly with her but I don't think I'll be fully able to forgive her,especially since she did that in a time,in the months that followed my brother's death,where we all were a mess and many families would have grown closer. What do you think?

found an old vhs in my basement. It's from an old family trip we made in 2000 in Lake Powell. My brother was 14 then,I was 7. It's hard to watching him jump from the cliffs,or smile. Little we did know the impact 911 would have on him the following year. Little we knew 5 years after that trip he would return in the US in a flag drapped casket. Gone at 19. Killed while trying to help 2 fellow Marines. We all reacted very differenty to his death: Mom had an affair which ended in divorce with my dad. I was angry at the world. I was angry at Bush. I was starting to get angry with my friends and family and I realized that my life was going down a hill. So I chose to reverse that. I took long walks to heal my heart,to heal my soul. For the first years both my mom and I couldn't even mention my brother's name without tearing up.. Now we talk about him frequently to keep his memory alive. Dad however took the loss very differently. For the past 15 years I never heard him mention my brother's name. Not once. He kept working,he's a GP. He kept smiling. He's an avid fb user and he always posts fun things and jokes. Thing is: my dad is a funny guy,he never talks about death unless it's related to his job. Mom thinks I shouldn't tell dad about this thing I noticed.and while I don't want to cause my father sorrow I just wonder why a man that lost his eldest child has never ever talked about him,it's like he doesn't care...as far as I know he has never been on his grave. What do you think

My family is kinda messed up. My grandpa and grandma lived next door. grandma,now a widow,still does. Grandpa was a very rational man,clean thinker,hard working man. Something my dad didn't herit. My mom and dad divorced after my older brother died in Iraq in 05 and mom had an affair in the following year. I hated my mom for so much after this. Dad met a woman,with whom he just goes on vacation from time to time. I believe this woman made him go insane,totally. He's like a 15 years old who thinks with his heart instead of his brain. Before he met her he used to think with his brain. Now it seems I'm the father and he's the son. This bitc* convinced him to travel to Iraq where my bro died and he accepted. I'm convinced that if that bitc* told him to jump from a building he would do that. Now the thing is,grandpa was the only one who could make him come to his sense,but he's gone. I'm scared,especially because Iraq is dangerous and my dad is like ' you gotta be positive'...I don't know what to do. Maybe I can't do anything,do you think is there a way I can finally make my dad think clear again? Because he's well known in town and everyone thinks he's lost his mind over this stupid a** bitc*. My fiancée and 18 year old sister got into a physical fight the other night in front of me and I was shocked.  It all started with built up drama that's been going on between the two. Really the drama was all created and formed by my sister. There was no real reason as to why she treated her so poorly I'm assuming jealousy because my fiancée has never done anything to my family or her but be an amazing loving person. 3 years!  We were at my moms house and my sister was with her own boyfriend and when my fiancée and I walked in together the first thing she did was say hello to me, and offer me a hit of the hookah that was used in the living room. She didn't bother welcoming my fiancée or offering her some even thought we came in hand in hand. Then I told her "you know she's right here with me too right?" Kindly. She got up in my wife's face and started telling her she's not gonna rip me away from the family, and she's no threat to anyone and to let her relationship with me stay with me. My wife stood up for herself and said don't talk to me that way and you have a serious issue. My sister got all up in here face enough to where they fought. My sister is now coming back to me begging to explain her side and she wants to make it up to me. I'm so furious, my wife's furious and hurt yet my sister expects me to forgive her and be okay with her like it didn't happen? She keeps saying bloods thicker than water like I should take her side automatically

I don't have a great relationship with my dad. He treats his wife's kids more like his children than me and sister. I'm not even allowed to have his number because his wife thinks I'll give it to my mom. She always lies that he was around his her oldest was a baby. But he didn't even meet her until after I was born. My step sister always brags on Facebook and Instagram about much of a dad he's been to her blah blah blah. He's protective over her and doesn't really care about what I do. He doesn't even message me happy birthday or say hi to me when I'm over. It really gets on my nerves.. I know his mom abused him when he was younger and showed no love. But I don't think it's an excuse. Why is he like this?

My dad has gone completely insane: Next week he wants to fly with a woman he's friend with to Jordan. I read that it's a very dangerous place and I'm scared. He's naive and so goddamn stupid. Plus he's in love with that wh*re bitc* friend of his and that bitc* kinda brainwashed him. There's no way I'm gonna convince him no to go. What do you think? Is Jordan safe? She wanted me to take an extended early lunch at work so that I could drive to my 20 year old sisters place and wake her up since she over slept her alarm.  Our mom usually calls her in the morning to make sure this doesn't happen but sis phone was dead.  Mom was worried sis would be late to her job bagging groceries.  I work as a chemist and have real deadlines and sometimes don't get lunch at all in order to meet work order timeframes.  Why tf would our mom think this is more acceptable having me leave work than having my sister be late? I am not a baby sitter.

So me and this boy used to be best friends for 7 years. And then we stopped being friends because of an argument in 2017 and our parents got involved and we stopped talking because of it. Yesterday I asked my sister could she take me to the family dollar to get things that I needed for my house. She said,  "yes, I'll take you after I get done with what I'm doing". So a few hours later, she pulled up with her cousin in the car. I got in and he bluntly ask me for 2 dollars because he was hungry.( I had my niece with me)  I was so irritated! And Instead of HER taken me straight to the dollar store first, she went to file her taxes. I was so mad! Then she told me to walk down the street to the Dollar General. Which I didn't ask her to take me to the Dollar General.  Anyway, long story short she charged me $10 just to take me up the street. I told her that I didn't have change so she pulled off after I took my bags out of her car. She never charged her cousin to pick him up but she charged me. Isn't she wrong?

I am a high school girl with a 39 year old single mother. I just adore her. We are very close. I think she is the best mother in the world. We often go to school events together. I have had at least 15 guys and some of the girls at school tell me words to the effect " Your mom is beautiful, hot, and sexy". Other guys say "Are you sure she is your mom and not your sister?     I gave my siblings (12 & 10) phones to keep in contact.     However, it seems that my mother is trying to block all contact with me as she steals their phones from them out of spite and had most likely let a man I barely know (whom is meant to be a step-dad) take the phones all the way to his residence in another city. I can tell based on their last location history. She doesn't have any intention of giving the phones back to them at all. Even if it were punishment, hers are indefinite. I'm paying for their service and monitoring their play time so that they stay vigilant, however, I don't know what I should do in this situation.    We have a very toxic mother (We have a positive relationship with our Dad who isn't here). My little siblings have been the last blood relatives left to feel the heat after I left home (I'm the oldest, 22 next month). They see me as someone to look up to and has, sadly, always seen me as the "better mother". Mom is aware of that and feels her authority threatened because they seek me out for any support. So of course, she sees my existence as "evil" and "disrespectful" no matter what I do.     I'm doing my best to keep her at a distance but I want to help my siblings grow into positive figures, but she sees it as "teaching them to disrespect her". They feel like everyone else in the house hates them. But what else can I do when she's even letting my (second oldest -18) sister treat them REALLY bad? Should I wait for an incident and call ACS? She let them keep the phones until she viewed the conversation of them venting to me and misunderstood a response she didn't like.

My sister is younger than me by 9 years so growing up we were not the closest siblings. I'm 26 now and I don't understand why all of a sudden she's so drawn into my life. She's always texting me wanting to hang out, offering to cook for me, offers to make me a drink when my FIANCE is RIGHT THERE. She's always calling my name to come do something when I bring my fiance over. If we walk in the door she'll say hey (my name) and not even acknowledge the woman I'm about to spend the rest of my life with next to me. My fiance tries her best to ignore the issue because she has brothers but now it's feeling like some sort of one up competition she's doing.. She's doesn't included my fiance at all yet she's trying to be so close to me now that my hands are full. , my sister got a ridgeback puppy a little over a month ago. It's now almost 4 months old. Anyways, I was talking to her about how when i lived with my brother, I caught his gf beating my dog, and that's why I decided to move out. When I said that my sister said "yeah that's ridiculous. There is never a reason to beat a dog" I said "yeah, theres never a reason to hit a dog" she said "well, I'll give Remy (her puppy) a little slap sometimes, but I make sure I dont hurt her". I would never even slap my dog, but I didnt think much of her statement, because I figured it as long as shes not hurting the dog, and just giving it a little shock, than no harm. Well, yesterday she was at my moms house. I live with my moms house, and my sister lives by herself. The puppy was being a little hyperactive. He likes to name on peoples hands too, as hes teething. I walked into another hand, and her a very faint slap sound. The next day I asked my mom why I heard a slap sound, and she said that my sister gave the pup, and little tap/slap on the nose, because she was biting my sisters hands. My mom doenst believe in hitting dogs iether, so I feel shed say something if she thought that was over the top, but idk. I posted in the pets section on reddit about this. And everyone was calling me a heartless coward, and an animal abuse enabler, for not confronting my sister. I was gonna talk to her about it this Saturday when I saw her. i snuck into my gf's house just to chill and it was hot in her room so i took my pants off and kept my shorts on that i had underneath so all i had was my tank top and my shorts. her parents heard us somehow and went into the room but it was locked so i went under the bed. later on her dad found me under the bed and told me to get out from under there. i put my shoes and my hoodie back on but forgot my pants which had my wallet with my id and my debit card her dad called the cops but seconds later screamed at me to just leave his house. so i left and ran as fast as i could the cop that sneered the call saw me and asked who i was and what i was doing i lies and said i was at a friends house. and she left so i ran even faster and went back home. i also sneaker out of my house so my parents don't know that i left so now i'm really scared because i don't want a cop showing up at my front door and arresting me. someone please help

Besides abusive, I know for sure that that's one word for him, but that alone is pretty broad. I need some help from others to figure out what it is he is and maybe even why.  Okay, so my furthest memories of him go back to be about 2, and from that age to about 6, he physically beat me. Always when my mom wasn't around to see. Before work and school, when the day began he'd always be on edge and he'd take it out on me. Also, no he didn't spank me. He actually beat me. Hard. For no reason.  A few years later he stopped because I figure he'd better stop before I get too old to defend myself.  I had an unhealthy and bad homelife with him and at school, I was diagnosed with dyslexia, dyscalculia and ADD. Instead of trying to help or encourage me, he told me that I'm just stupid. Anytime I would get any confidence at all, he would sqash it. By the time I got to high school, I had become so poorly educated from home and at school that I couldn't keep up and had to drop out. Everytime I try to earn my GED my dad is there in my head telling me how stupid I am. He's crammed so many ideas into my head, I am afraid to do anything.  Even now into my late 20s 2hen I accidentally drop something, spill something, whatever, I still break down into tears and apologize too much.  No matter where I am, he's there physically or emotionally telling me how dumb I am, and still yelling at me for making mistakes.  I'm scared to death to live, and when I mess up, I physically beat myself.

My childs father has been away since the end of May ( about 7 months) will be returning next week. I never brought her to visit... which I kind of regret. But couldnt stand to hear her asking for her father after seeing him..  it is quite the commute. She has stopped asking about him... and I know in general it is bothering her, and most likely she will be in shock when seeing him again also for their father too...he wasnt very involved in the beginning but he was there. I made a huge mistake, and so worried about how this will affect them.  I am thinking about starting with a counselor for some guidance . Advice ? Thank you

She has some fat on her belly but her brother plays soccer and eats junk food but is skinny. I told her that if she wants a hug from mom that she needs to agree to play soccer or another sport starting next month. She got offended and started to cry. I fear that she will be overweight in high school but her brother eats junk food all day and is thin. She should be like her brother but she has belly fat. I gave her a side hug but in thinking about just giving her brother the Doritos and giving her an apple.

So, I recently graduated college. Thankfully, I have a great job lined up which I start soon. I've been in school a long time and this milestone was very important and special to me. My parents have always encouraged myself and brothers to work hard to obtain success. Therefore, in some ways my education was to please them as well as myself. Anyway, they were nice enough to attend my graduation and help me move into my new place, but on their last day with me before returning home, I had told them I wanted to quickly show them where I would be working, which was just 15 minutes down the road. They had seen a picture of the office building I sent to them, but visiting in person would be nicer and I was pretty sure they would have to drive by it anyway on their way back. In response I was told they wanted to leave as the trip was long (6 hours or so driving), and I don't know... My heart kind of sank. My Dad lies a lot. I get my hopes up and they are always dashed. Crushed time and time again. I ask on here and people say "don't believe him then you won't be disappointed" and I see the point but his promises automatically get me some excitement and hope. Worse part is sometimes he does not lie and thus it causes that ray of hope. Yet half the time he lies. Meanwhile my sister is just an awful human being. I can find some good in my Dad despite the hurt he causes but my sister has no good. I do fear her spreading stuff about me to be the evil bully she is and it causing me to be rejected. I have an aunt that has been rejected by false allegations by another sister who tends to bully though not as bad as my wicked sister. So how do I learn not to be hurt by the actions of these two people, especially my Dad who I have some respect for.

Question: I learned today that my cousin is coming to town for Easter this year. My folks will be away. What if all are asked over but my family?

How do I prevent this? My parents will be away at their beach house they are addicted to. I however will want to be home and so won't be over there. I am afraid I will be overlooked at invitations because the aunt who'd be hosting will assume I am at the beach with my parents when I won't be as I am an adult out on my own. How do I prevent this? When left out I become devastated because my Mom was estranged from her family when I was growing up and personalized it to me so it became a trauma. Now as an adult when I miss something in her family all that rejection from childhood comes flooding back. My parents don't get it, my Dad is especially ignorant of it. My Mom talks to her family now but remains 2nd rate where she does not part-take a lot in activities.

My child's father wants me to hang out with him and even go to family events.I have a husband and I'm married  yet my child's father who lives far away wants me to go to a family event with him where I would have to sleep over. I told him he can take the child by himself and he said he doesn't trust me and is afraid I will call Amber on his ***. Sooo, I just turned 18 in December and my sister who raised me is really sick and we are desperate for $$$. My BFF suggested that I sell sum nudes. I thought about it for a long time. My sister is so sick and stressed about Bill's, me, and everything else, I just did it. I called my BFF to come over and snap some pics. She said to post ads on Craigslist and CityGuide. I got hits like crazy, most were older gross and ultra aggresive. But, I made $120 in less then an hour. That's when **** got real. Both Craigslist and CityGuide red flagged my ads and accounts. I had the money sent to my brothers PayPal. Now I'm scared that I'm in Big Trouble !!!! I'm not to worried about my brother, he still thinks I'm twelve and selling girl scout cookies but, my sister is smart and she will freaking kill me !!!! Can this be traced back to me? Should I start planning my funeral??!!!! FYI, that money went towards what we were short on rent. My sister didn't ask were I got it but I know she will start looking, HELP !!!!!

I'm in a really tough spot right now. My parents aren't legally divorced yet, but they currently have agreed on a joint custody thing for my sister and I. My sister and I are gonna be 16 soon and we're twins, also my sister has cognitive disabilities that requires that her to have an IEP. My sister, my dad, and I caught my mom cheating on my dad 4-5 or so years ago, and the nuclear family dynamic went downhill from there. I resented my mother for 2 years from the trauma and the lies. A while ago, I started dating a boy and he taught me what it means to forgive for the sake of your own wellbeing, so since I've always tried to see the good in people and believed in forgiveness. I had a bad relationship with my mom, but I eventually repaired it to the best of my ability, and the same with my dad. However, my dads been a bitter soul ever since, and constantly starts aggressive fights with my mom, calling her, me, and my sister "whores, liars and bitches." My dads been so angry once that he grabbed me and threw me into my bed post. He told my mom that she needs to kill herself or get deported (moms an immigrant), in order for him to have what he wants. My dad wants me to completely cut her off, but I'm scared of my dad. I've said that I was scared of him before, however he doesn't believe me. I want to see the good in my dad, because I know all his aggression comes from a place of pain. what should I do? what do you think will happen? I have more to say, but I can't fit it all.

My family has never been close, a lot of drama, but I thought we were on the right track of fixing this and becoming a close family.  I have a new sister I've never met before that has arrived in town today.  My daughter,  husband and I stay very busy with rodeos and so this weekend I said no rodeos it will be family time. I learned my nephew is having his daughters bday party this weekend and I'm not invited, but new sister and all other family members (new and old) are.  We have never really been invited unless its a major holiday, no one from my family comes and watches and supports my daughter barrel racing or anything.  So how am I suppose to feel or act?  They all going to dinner tonight and said I should come meet new sister, but this Saturday they will be busy with bday party without us.. I love my family and wanted to start learning to be close again.. If i'm excluded from certain things and will only be invited when they choose how would we become a real family.. what am I suppose to do or how am I suppose to feel.   Am I being over dramatic just because I'm not included.. Is my new sister going to wonder why I'm not at bday party like all other family members are?  Guess I'm the black sheep, but this deeply hurts me so bad...I'm lost and confused here.

Four days ago, my baby's father went over to visit his other baby's mom. They ended up fighting and now I think he's going to prison. But, he took her phone's, too! What should I do? He said THAT he left his clothes at her house and that he knocked on her door but she didn't answer it. They're putting me in the middle of their crap! I'm tired of it!

I'm 30 years old. My life is garbage I've been struggling financially and I'm not happy. I've been offered a full time job out in Oregon my family is in Wilmington NC. They do not want me to move that far away. My family has gone as far as to bribe me to get me to stay in the area. There is no REAL industry here, I'm working making 80 per day with a Masters Degree. We are in a resort town and I'm miserable. My dad went as far as to offer buy me a brand new car AND put down 150000 for a home paid in cash if I agree not to move to Oregon and just live where i am. All of my friends tell me I'm crazy not to accept my dads offer for a free place to live and a brand new car and living rent free. The issue is the job market here is so bad!!! I want to start my life even with a house if I can't pay my bills it's useless. Any advice? This is really bothering me and I'm not sure what to do.

I was hit with a wood by the one who became husbamd and nothink checked by my family on a dokyyard of a project of hydro station .and the sight dissapeared  ..can i have sort of amnesies from.this.?.. I never told family because i dodn t remember and my mother started to tell once that second wife of his first husband was operated on brain and she thinks she wad hit by son at head with smth .
