Posted: 09 Oct 2015 07:13 PM PDT So I'm just going to be fully honest here: I'm engaged and am getting married right out of high school. Before you say I'm too young, please take into account the idea that the maturity of the individual matters much more than the age. He and I have been best friends for four years and in a relationship for one and a half. We make a spectacular team and have seen each other through some pretty rough stuff. I am fully aware that marriage -- and life -- takes real work. I've had a job since my tenth grade year. I pay a car payment, car insurance, cell phone, gas, etc. So, I have had a small taste of adulthood. Besides, we are having a modest wedding and footing the bill ourselves. We both do plan on attending college and have been assessing some affordable options. We are looking for a cheap school to attend for our first two years, and we need something we both can get into. Again, we (and hopefully the government) will be footing the bill. With my high school achievements I could probably get into nearly any school I like; however he could not. Not being boastful, just realistic. Needless to say, my mother is not very happy that I plan to settle for his sake. In my opinion, none of my accomplishments will matter without my best friend by my side. I'm not sure what I'm asking for here, because I don't need random people to validate my own choices. Maybe some advice or encouragement? I'd really like some tips.. What do you think? |

Question: Wedding themes and bridesmaids dresses? Posted: 09 Oct 2015 08:59 AM PDT Can't decide on our wedding theme. We're getting married at my dads house in Australia, it's on the beach. We were thinking of gold sequin colors, lots of metallic. I also really like pastel colors and the idea of having different dresses for each bridesmaid. The wedding will be in spring 2017. Also, should my MOH have a different dress to everyone else? I should've been more clear I apologize. My wedding is in spring 2016, In November. Our fathers will be paying for the whole wedding, so they don't need to worry about buying their own dresses. I simply asked to choose between my two color choices and if a MOH has a different dress. And yes. I know the theme is wedding. That is not what I was asking. If you weren't and idiot you would've read the whole question. I asked about color themes. |

Question: How many people should I have in my wedding party? Posted: 09 Oct 2015 06:04 AM PDT I have chosen a maid of honor, but am left with about 8 girls which fiancé and I decided is too much as we are getting married in a small church. Also want to have the same amount as him but he hasn't decided yet. Any ideas? Thanks for your answers - although I did not need the rude comments or accusations from most of you. Thanks to those lovely people who actually helped. As I said, I am deciding on how many people I will be having, my issue is that I have family (cousins sister in law) involved in the bridal party and I feel pressured to have them there. |
Question: How long should you be engaged before marriage? Posted: 09 Oct 2015 06:00 AM PDT Fiancé of 3 months and I were talking about our wedding, and we have no idea when to have it, from what I've been reading most weddings take about a year to plan. We are having the wedding at my dads house in South Africa. So we can have it any time we want :) Thanks guys. Don't know how to end / delete a question but I don't need any more replies. |
