He makes a lot more money than I do, so he almost always pays for it (I pay for gas when I drive to see him every weekend 2 hours away, so its not like I dont contribute at all). Anyway, whenever I dont finish my food at a restaurant, he gets mad. So Ive resorted to only ordering off the appetizer menu - Im very petite and get full easily, and these plates are HUGE at restaurants. Even a salad is huge these days. It really upsets me when he gets mad over this because it makes me feel awkward and...like hes talking down to me like a child or something. We were at a Curry restaurant the other day and I ordered a mango lassi, I thought it would be a liquid drink but it turned out to be a smoothie, so I had to eat a giant bowl of curry and a smoothie. I finished half the smoothie and he goes "You need to get better at that." I didnt know what else to say other than "I know..." he said "Do you want to take that home? It was a $4 smoothie." and I honestly didnt like it so I said probably not. The waiter comes over and my bf says "Can we get a cup to go for that?" without saying anything I reluctantly take the smoothie home feeling a little upset about it cuz I just think thats rude. I mean he already paid for it, doesnt really matter if I finish it or not. We get home & he goes "Did you finish the smoothie or is it still in the car?" I dont know how to talk to him about this. |
