Question: How to convince mom to go on family vacay to Chicago and Cleveland? HELP!? Posted: 12 Aug 2018 02:17 PM PDT My dad is planning on taking us to Cleveland and Chicago for a 7 day vacation in a couple weeks. Us kids (teens) really want to go and so does my dad but my mom doesn't want to go because we would have to go to a relative wedding and the rest we would explore. The problem is she doesn't wanna go in general. |
Question: Is it normal that my parents prepare fruit and vegetables for my adult brother? Posted: 12 Aug 2018 01:41 PM PDT Dear all I'm a 17 year old girl and I eat healthly just because I like it . My parents cook a lot of vegetables and eat a lot of fruit. My brother (28) lives in another country (he is my dad's son from first marriage). He is the kind of guy doesn't want to "waste" any time cooking and who can't cook. He hashad a lot of girl friends they usually don't like eating or cooking either and some of them are almost anorexic. Eating just doesnt mean a lot to him. He visits us 4-5 times a year. If we did not eat our normal meals the thought of food would hardly occur to him. I visited him a couple of times. Then he eats a banana at noon or later, then he eats nothing until he suddenly he feels totally starved at 10 at night or so. Then he makes a ready meal. Due to this kind of eating, his blood sample is usually very dramatic and he got a lot of vitamines prescribed by the GP. I'd say it's his own fault, but when he visits, my parents always take special care to cut up fruit or cook lots of vegetalbles for him. I mean how old is he...four?? Last time, my dad even cut a melon for him although he hadn't even asked for it. Even my mum who isnt his mum takes special care to prepare a lot of healthy food for him. No one cuts up any melons for me. They just take for granted that I eat healthily.Do you think it is normal they are concerned with his Eating so much even though he is almost 30? Thanks sorry for mistakes, I'm not a native speaker but my brother is half British and I would like to take his cultural background into account, should that make any differences |
Posted: 12 Aug 2018 12:55 PM PDT they lie. they say we don't say anything but they lie. horrible things. my mother literally says everything. no matter it's about my period or about me torturing animals which I didn't. right now. right now idiot men outside are saying this: she cleans her period blood with clothes haha. she is dumb, psychopath haha. completely wrong. I didn't do these things. they want to hide from me that they said these things. |

Posted: 12 Aug 2018 12:00 PM PDT My parents are divorced. I'm currently living with my dad. My mom is pulling out all the stops, trying every possible scheme to force me to live with her again. Her latest game is the "anger issue" that I supposedly have, which seems to have magically appeared when I moved in with my dad. She's trying to force me to go to therapy, so if I don't go, she can claim my dad is an unfit parent and the court can force me to live with her. I'm 17, and not once in my life have I ever been told I have an anger problem or gone to therapy. As I said before, it seems to have magically appeared when I moved in with my dad, and my mom is the only person that says I have an issue. My grandparents on BOTH sides don't think I have an anger issue, nor does anyone I've asked. What can be one about this? |
Posted: 12 Aug 2018 11:49 AM PDT So basically when I was six my great grandfather passed away from cancer. Its now 11 years later and I still live with regret. We where birthday buddies as he called it and best friends. We were like two peas in a pod. As he laid on his death bad he keep asking for me. Being a six year old little girl of course I was in school. I found out later that night when I get off the bus and found my mom aunt and uncle all waiting for us at my house since my cousins were all staying with us will are parents went go see him(my dad and other uncle stayed home with us for few days they were gone) Anyways I live with a sense of regret that I didn't tell him goodbye. I still think about it constantly. I never even got to tell him I loved him one last time. |
Question: Can I marry my sister since she is adopted? Posted: 12 Aug 2018 11:29 AM PDT She is not really my sister so I want to marry her. But she is my parents daughter since they adopted her. |
Question: Why does my family think they have any right to call me an elitist snob? Posted: 12 Aug 2018 10:37 AM PDT My wife and I are in our mid 20s. We met in college and discovered we had similar childhood experiences. Both raised in pretty bad environments with parents and family who were poor, unprofessional, and irresponsible, put drugs or alcohol before their children, and blamed all their problems on everyone else. My wife and I worked our way through college, graduated, we both have good jobs, and we got married. I've tried to limit contact with my family. I don't plan on ever helping my parents, not even when they're old and need it. They didn't help me, so why should I really. Now my wife and I are about to have a daughter, and when my family found out I told them that they weren't going to be allowed to be in her life, because I don't respect them or their behavior. Then a few days ago I got a call from one of my relatives who said I look down my nose at all of them because I have money and they don't, and that I'm just an elitist snob who wants to forget where I came from. The thing is, I haven't forgotten, and that's exactly why I don't want to speak with them. They refuse to take responsibility for the fact that they're losers and improve their lives, so why should I be viewed as a snob for actually being productive, professional, and responsible? |
Question: How do I get her the help she needs.? Posted: 12 Aug 2018 10:19 AM PDT I am divorced buy my ex wife and I are still on friendly terms. My ex wife Rita has remarried. With her marriage she became a step mother to a teenage girl, Megan. Megan was behind in her classes and she needed some tutoring help. Rita called me and told me about Megan's need and that Rita and her husband did not have the money for a tutor. Rita asked me if I would tutor Megan on credit. I like to help people when I can so I told her I would tutor Megan for free. Megan came to my house after school 2 times a week and I tutored her until dinner time then we went to a restaurant and back to my house for more tutoring. I took her home after tutoring. After several tutoring sessions she told me she did not want to go home as her mom and dad were always fighting. At the last tutoring session she told me I would make a great dad and she wanted to move in with me as she could not stand the constant fighting her dad and Rita were doing. Not knowing what to say I told her parents would never agree to that. Megan clearly needs help but I am at a loss as how she can get help. If anyone has any ideas how I can get her help, please share them with me? THANKS |
Question: Should I go to this wedding? Posted: 12 Aug 2018 10:01 AM PDT My cousin is marrying some woman against the will of his father. The head of our clan. So he disowned him and nobody in the family is going to his wedding. I kinda have sympathies for him, but if I go, I will put myself in a very bad spot with the rest of the family. My father and my uncle will not be very pleased. Can I just send a gift instead? |
Posted: 12 Aug 2018 09:38 AM PDT I m 18 years old and my parents wont let me make any decisions on my own. They won t let me get my ID or drivers licence so i can get a job. Then when i call them out for it i get called a ***** and they threaten to kill my therapy cats. I just don t know what to. |

She also started itching when I kept talking about it.She said she does it because I make her nervous. Question: How do I go about getting child support? Will it cost me anything to get it? Posted: 12 Aug 2018 07:07 AM PDT My ex left me and our 4 month old son. He says he wants to be in his sons life but he seldom comes over and when he does he just makes him sleep. Its like he doesnt want to play with him. I think it woukd be best for my son to not have his dad in his life. I think that it will hurt him to see that his dad isnt fully there for him. He only comes over for like an hours, 2 twice a week. He works but he has time to come and doesn't make, the effort. He also cheated on me several times when we werd together and now he comes over and tells me that i need tobget a better job so he does have to pay so much child supprt and all these terrible things. I dont want my son to grow up with this kind of man in his life. He will see that he doesnt treat me right and I dont want him to think its okay to treat peoole that way or to be afraid of him. Money is tight. I could really use child support. But will applying cost a lot of money? I read that it could cost thousands. My ex feels like he cant afford it and says if I apply he will try to lower it. Will that cause me to go to court? He also said if he cant afford it he will reliquish his rights so he doesnt have to pay, but he still wants to see his son. Once he reliquishes his rights i can decide not to let him see his son right? Also, does he really not have to pay child support if he reliquishes his rights? At first I didnt want anything to do with him but I juat dont see how i can afford anything. |
Question: Girls who can drive would you have done this? Posted: 12 Aug 2018 06:06 AM PDT I just got home from taking my sister to work. Since I did not have to go in anyplace I just drove barefoot and did not bring my shoes. |
Question: Do siblings pick up and carry you? Posted: 12 Aug 2018 01:43 AM PDT When I was a little kid and I told my sister who was older no I wasn't going and she picked up and carried me over her shoulder. do siblings do that? |
Posted: 12 Aug 2018 01:08 AM PDT Future mother in law is also bagging his proposal saying it's disappointing that his sister wasn't included. Wtf? Is that normal? Story is: I have 3 siblings and none of them were invited. His brother was there because his brother is married to my best friend and she was part of the plan to trick me into going out for the night so it was a massive surprise. Now his sister and even the mother are talking behind our backs, completely taking away the lime light. Is that normal and how can we tell them to stop with all the negativity!? |
Question: My mom keeps calling me every other day and will not back off? Posted: 12 Aug 2018 12:15 AM PDT I moved out and want nothing to do with her. I'm afraid she might stop by unannounced and refuse to leave. Do I need to move and change my number? she's so manipulative she managed to turn anyone she lies to against me. I don't care. I'm sick of the drama and verbal abuse from her for many years and being so controlling and toxic. It makes me angry inside. I've tried yelling, telling her off, I've tried being civil and polite. she wants me to move back in and leave my girlfriend. |
Question: Why do children treat their parents so horribly these days ? Posted: 11 Aug 2018 10:29 PM PDT |
Question: On my mind, please share feedback. What do you feel? Posted: 11 Aug 2018 10:05 PM PDT I am 33, I have three kids, my oldest is 17 and youngest is 11. I was with their father for 14 years and it was hell so I had a tubal litigation. Now, I've been with this man that is wonderful and has no kids and feel so much that I would love to have a child with him but I somewhat feel like I do not want any more, I'm 33 and feel done. I know he wants kids and when we dated I told him not to waste his time on me because I cannot have any and he still wanted our relationship but I just feel I'm in the way of him having kids of his own. |
Question: Mom gets mad if I don't call or text her back? Posted: 11 Aug 2018 09:59 PM PDT Sometimes, if she gets calls or texts me and I don't respond to her quickly due to being busy or my phone is on DND, she will send texts about how I'm ungrateful or how I'm going to get treated for being disrespectful towards her. Even, when we get to arguments, she will grab my phone and read my text messages. I'm sick of her behavior, what should I do about it? |
Posted: 11 Aug 2018 08:21 PM PDT My Dad is getting a house with his girlfriend. His girlfriend has a daughter, and she is pretty much the most spoiled girl ever. She goes to an expensive private school, has a TV, a computer, and basically gets whatever she wants. Meaning, she got the biggest room, the computer, and new furniture. My sister and I got rooms that are similar in size to a walk in closet, barely enough room for our bed. I'm going into high school soon, and need a laptop. My dad bought one for me.. but then his girlfriend convinced him to give it to her daughter because she wanted to play coolmath games on it. She's not the smartest girl... to be honest, and my sister and I are in all the advanced programs, so if they are going to spend money on education it should be on ours. That would be more beneficial. I just basically feel like she is the favorite and my dad is willing to put her needs over ours any day. Last night I didn't get dinner because I commented on how she got the ice cream sandwich every night and it should be our turn. Advice? |
Question: Did my Aunt do this on purpose? Posted: 11 Aug 2018 07:59 PM PDT My Aunt hasn't seen my Mom in 2 decades. My Mom gained a little weight in that time. She's not fat or anything. The gift my Aunt gave my Mom was plus sized knickers which are way too big for her. Do you guys think my Aunt did this on purpose? I don't think I like my Aunt anymore. I remember even as a kid she treated my Mom bad. Or am I being too much? And thinking back, my Aunt has been ungrateful to my Mom for a very long time. When my Aunt moved to London, my Mom was the one that allowed her to stay at our house for a year for free. She couldn't have moved to London without my Mom. My Mom was the one that hooked her up with her future husband. But when we moved to America and wanted to vacation in London, she wouldn't let us stay at her place for just a week even though we let her stay at our place for a year. And she's always been a snob. |

Posted: 11 Aug 2018 05:01 PM PDT I am a guy 31. I am not perfect, i have faults and flaws. I try and be helpful, i am generally nice. Family is always negative of me. My dad is never wrong, he yells if i talk about something he doesn't want to talk about. Or he tells me he doesn't want to talk. If i defend myself, it's an issue. He tells me not to yell, but he can yell. He says because he is my dad he can. And i can't defend myself, because he is never wrong. I deal with anxiety, and not comfortable around him. I have told him, and he doesn't care. If he ask me to do something for him, i do what i can. He isn't like this with my sister. Mom defends him. I am the bad person, if i say i don't want to talk about my dad. I have apologize to him, it could have been me defending myself, but i apologized. But he blames me for everything. What to do? |
Question: Did my dad overreact? Posted: 11 Aug 2018 04:57 PM PDT Ok so let me start off by saying when hes not being a dick hes really cool. But anyway my dad brought home groceries and i put them up. And i guess i forgot to close a cabnet. and i after i was finished i started walking to my room and i he says to me can you do anything right?! And i just look at him and say nothing and go to my room. Then i hear him talking to my uncle and he says "he thinks hes so tough. Im knock the **** out of him next time" is this a overreaction or am i just thinking to hard about it? |
Posted: 11 Aug 2018 04:55 PM PDT I am scared she could. I am 17 and she has done this as long as I have been alive. She says to me when I misbehave that I will have guilt when she kills herself one day. It makes me be good though. |
Question: My brother pulled a knife on our Mom. Was I wrong not to call the cops? Posted: 11 Aug 2018 04:45 PM PDT He is 15. This happened last weekend. |
Question: How can I prevent my family from disturbing me while I m studying? Posted: 11 Aug 2018 04:35 PM PDT I don t mind noisy environments but one of my biggest peeves is people talking to me while I m studying. Anytime I m studying at home, my mom or grandparents come in and start asking irrelevant questions. When I tell them not to disturb me because I m studying, they start asking 50 questions about every aspect of what I m working on. I ve confronted them and told them I need them to stop interrupting me but then they get angry and start a whole tirade about how I m being "rude" to them. Outside of study hours I already devote all my time to helping out with the house and their endless nagging. Yet they still won t leave me alone when I need it!!! I love them, but it s really stressing me out. I m not financially stable enough to move out. What can I do to get them off my back?? |
Question: Parents treat me like a maid. My brother is a brat.? Posted: 11 Aug 2018 04:32 PM PDT I am 14 and I constantly clean, take care of my 5yr old brother, do laundry etc. My 11yr old brother is absolutely worthless! All he does is sit around on his phone all day, which he got because I got one "because it's only fairrrrr" even though i worked my butt off for it. I beg and plead for him to help me and he does half-assed job if he does anything at all. If I criticize his awful work, he yells at me and makes awful remarks. Not to mention he has hideous grades and never exercises, while I am the oppsoite. HELP ME! (srry for grammar) |
Question: Should I go stay in a homeless camp and save up money? Posted: 11 Aug 2018 04:09 PM PDT I was in foster care most of my child hood when I turned 18 I had no family and no help.So I worked minimum wage jobs but couldn't afford food and certain bills certain months. I've been homeless before so it wouldn't be a new experience. Would it be a good idea? Continue working minimum wage because I can't get a better paying job right now. Save up money for about a year and then get a place and go back to school? |

Posted: 11 Aug 2018 04:01 PM PDT I was hurting and looking for sympathy and understanding. This happened last April and I haven't spoken to her since. I have to see her wedding next weekend. Question: How do I get retribution on my sister when she bullies me? Posted: 11 Aug 2018 03:48 PM PDT |
Question: How do I stop them?!? Posted: 11 Aug 2018 03:42 PM PDT So my 8 month old daughter s grandparents constantly feed her stuff she shouldn t have, like food loaded with sugar. Either its done behind my back or in front of me. I m not the one for confrontation so when it s done in front of me, I just brush it off. I have tried telling the main culprit which is my daughters non-biological (fiances stepmom) grandma to stop feeding her junk, but apparently its not getting through her head. I also constantly feel like she is wanting to be my daughter s mother instead of grandma. Doesn t help we live with them (not going into detail why.) So what do I do? |
Question: I don't understand why I'm such an awful daughter.? Posted: 11 Aug 2018 02:43 PM PDT I love my mum, I really really do but I always really dislike her. We have such a confusing relationship, it was as if it was bipolar. Somedays we get on extremely well but our bad days are awful and sadly are becoming more frequent. It's as if I've lost all respect for her and I understand it, I just need help for us both but I don't know how to get it. Just yesterday we got into a (now seemingly small) argument in the car and as a result she slapped my arm and locked me in and because of my anger and overwhelming feelings I kicked the windscreen and surprise surprise, it smashed. I felt so guilty and embarrassed and I knew it was wrong. When she saw she called me every name under the sun and we've not spoken since. I've offered her money for a replacement but she didn't reply. I'm 15 and I know I'm troubled but I always take the blame and I feel like it can't only be me who's wrong. I just can't believe how upset she must feel that I'm such a disappointment and I feel like I don't belong here at all, I don't deserve her or anyone. Please help me |
Question: Is the school treating my daughter fairly? YOUR OPINION PLEASE.? Posted: 11 Aug 2018 12:54 PM PDT I got a call from my daughter's high school that they wanted to discuss a problem with me. That was really surprising as she had never been any trouble before. The principal told me that the school had a problem with my daughter tutoring math. The only had room for a fixed number of students where she was doing the tutoring. Each semester they would post a sign up sheet for the tutoring. It turns out that most of the people that signed up were guys who did not need any tutoring. Most of the guys were A students that just wanted to get to know my daughter better. He said I can understand why these guys would want to get to know her better because she is beautiful girl. He said they were going to have to get someone else to do the tutoring so girls could get the math help they need. I know my daughter is going to be disappointed that she is being dumped. This just does not seem fair. I asked why they just don't kick the guys out that don't need tutoring and they told me they were afraid they would be accused of discriminating against boys. I think if my daughter could say she was a math tutor in high school, it will help her get in the college of her choosing. Parents (and high school girls) please give me your thoughts on this. Are they treating my daughter fairly? What should I do if anything |
Question: What should I tell the police? Posted: 11 Aug 2018 11:36 AM PDT My mom saw a little snake in the yard, and ran out and killed it. I think one or more of the neighbors put it there. What should I do? |
