Posted: 29 Aug 2018 01:49 PM PDT I met a man online who lives overseas. We were planning to marry in a few weeks in Europe where he will travel himself from his home country & me from US. We are from the same culture & in our culture, it is expected that men pay for women. He never talked to me about how our vacay will be paid since he paid for his ticket & me for mine which was 4 times the cost of his. When I mentioned that I would pay my share of hotel he was happy saying that $1,000 is a lot of $ for him to pay for this vacay lol so that is why I suggested paying my share. Then I thought to myself...this man wants to marry me, get his GC by the easiest possible way, but we're traveling to get married as buddies when it comes to finances for two couples from a culture where men do everything. I started feeling uneasy about this because if a man's aim is to marry, he is getting lucky by getting a gc from our marriage, I expect him to at least cover our hotels and dinners & not split. He said that he has only $20,000 left & that that's all his $ that is left for him. Im from the US & I dont even have that much honestly. He also said that he would get me a ring there just one wedding band & when he gets to the US he will buy me diamond rings every year for my bday, so this way i knew that i was just getting 1 ring in advance & not multiple like its in our culture. I feel like he wants the sex marriage & g.c. with minimal effort. He even said 'who are you for me to pay so much for hotels". Should I dump him? |

Question: Do I have to ask my wife's permission to keep our granddaughter? Posted: 29 Aug 2018 07:36 AM PDT My wife's oldest son, 23 years old, has a 2.5 year old daughter whom we love with all our heart. She's a precious little girl. People just love to see her. Well, last year when her son fell out with his granddad and he put him out my wife allowed him to move back in with us. I told her then that with him being back with us that meant his daughter would be there for weekend visits. I negotiated with the baby momma and her son to allow every other weekend visitation and that's been working fine for months now. Well, we didn't have her last weekend and this is his weekend again. I text the baby momma to ask if we could keep her an extra day since Labor Day was Monday and she said fine. I wanted to grill out and pull out our blow up kiddie pool for her to play in the water for a while. I just text my wife to let her know she'll be there an extra day and she nearly cut my head off. Her argument is that she doesn't really like having kids around. I told her that with her letting him move back with us that his daughter is a part of that package. She's complaining about not having any time to herself without kids being around but our granddaughter is only there 2 out of every 14 days. Then she says that I don't need to be talking directly to the baby momma without her knowing about it. Why? Am I not adult enough to arrange extra visitation or is she scared that I'm going to try and hit on this little 19 year old girl. Step-son and baby momma don't communicate well because of the conflict between them so I am the quote / unquote, mediator to keep down the confusion. When it's his weekend I contact her to arrange picking her up and dropping her off. My wife feels that the girl needs to contact her and that I should have had a conversation with her about allowing our granddaughter to stay an extra day. Do I really need permission from my wife to allow our granddaughter to stay one extra night? It's not like I asked for her to stay the whole week, I just asked for one more overnight visit because I plan to grill out Monday, Labor Day, and I want her to play in her pool. My step-son doesn't pay any child support so I think it's a very nice gesture that this girl is even allowing us the extra time. |
Question: Husband won't text with me. Why? Posted: 29 Aug 2018 06:41 AM PDT This morning after I left for work I started feeling sick so I turned around and went back home. As I pulled into our neighborhood I passed my husband on the way out to work so I called him and told him I was taking a sick day. We've been looking at getting a larger TV for our living room but our current entertainment stand won't work with it. I saw on the Facebook Marketplace a perfect stand so I text my husband after he got to work and we had several back and forth texts until I was finally able to show him the entertainment center he was looking for. He doesn't have the Marketplace icon on his Facebook account. I asked him if he saw it and he said yes. A little while later I texts him this, "Well, don't stop talking to me now...what do you think?" His reply was, "Don't stop talking to you now? What's that supposed to mean? I'm at work and you're not. If I stop texting that means I'm working." I find it funny that he has been texting all morning about an entertainment center but now wants to stop texting. My husband works in an office and has his phone by him at all times but it seems that when I text him it takes him a while to reply. He says I don't understand that sometimes he actually works. I'll bet he replies to others but just not me. No proof, just an assumption. Do you reply to your spouse when they text you? |
Question: Can someone please give me advice here.? Posted: 29 Aug 2018 04:58 AM PDT My husband has been complaining I don t give him enough attention and he s saying he s not happy anymore. He also likes to say how I feel or how he assumes I feel anyways. Well when I try to talk to him he gets mad and turns it all on him or whatever he never takes my feelings into consideration. Well as usual he got home from work and turned the video game on, I started helping our three kids with homework, baths, food, bed etc not once did he offer to help (I work full time as well) I serve him his meal he says thanks babe, eats and continues to play the game. I try just seeing how his day was he doesn t hear me etc this is a daily occurrence...then he gets mad saying I don t care about him and he s not happy because I don t give him attention and I don t want him sexually etc I just complain all of the time. Really?!?! I just feel like he just wants me here as a servant and a damn sex slave. Any advice?? |
