As of now, I am a senior in high school. Recently I realized that throughout my high school years I've become victim to always losing people that I care about alot because I get really close to them to an extent where they let me down easy and we end up being distant because of me. Whether it's me walking with them to their class or just hanging out with them in general. I'm a genuinely nice guy that does lack social skills and doesn't really know how to continue a conversation with someone so idk if that's a factor that contributes to me losing friends. Because of this, I started to distant myself away from people and blammed myself for everything. Idk what to do anymore.

I've known this girl for 15 years. She's bisexual and she has almost always had a crush on me, but she knows I only consider her a "sister". Her kids know me as "Aunt" and I am also their Godmother. Their biological father and my "sister" haven't been in touch in 6-7 years. When they were together, though, my "sister" and I were often estranged because he treated her like crap and I kept trying to tell her she needed to break up with him, but instead she would put him before me and not talk to me as much. Fast forward to today, she's been dating another guy for almost 3 years. They've been living together for maybe 2 years or close to it. Note, this guy and I were friends before they met and I introduced them and he chased her for 8-9 months before she agreed to date him. We all used to hang out and things were fine, but as long as they've been living together, it's been rough. They fight A LOT, she has constantly told me how unhappy she is with him and as long as they've been living together, my "sister" has become kind of a b*tch, to say the least. It's gotten to the point where she'll side with him over me and a mutual best friend, just to keep the peace between THEM. So, again, she's putting a boyfriend before me, the girl who's supposed to be her "sister". Recently, I have cut ties with her and explained to her that while she is with him, I can't be friends with her. It just isn't healthy the way things currently are. She hasn't said it, but I know she won't leave him because then her and her kids would have nowhere else to go (no room for them where I live, sadly). She's already worn out her welcome at her parents' house and me and my best friend were her only friends and she's lost us. What do I do about a friend who puts her relationships before her best friend/sister? Enough that she still won't leave him, despite the fact that now she's lost her only two friends. By the way, her boyfriend knows about her crush on me and he's always been threatened by our friendship. He got upset when she wanted to sit next to me at her son's birthday party last year (and this is a 31 year old man we're talking about). I think he intentionally ruined our friendship.

So this girl's been in the same class as me for three years. This year, she's in two of my classes. She's really cool, and I really, really, really want to be friends with her, but i'm too scared to ask her to hang out with me during break. Is that weird? Please be honest! Would it be weird if someone came up to you and asked if you wanted to hang out during break? I'm just so scared. And if I do ask her to hang out with me, what do I talk about? Like, what happens after I say, "hi." What do I say after that? I have 3 friends and I got them the super easy way. I never made an effort to make a friend, so I don't know how. Please help! I'm a senior now and I'll regret never being friends with her.

(we are in 8th grade at the moment) today she came to school with a big bruise on her face and she told us that her father did it to her which wasnt a surprise to us, she was always telling about the things he called her and told her. we want to help but we don't know how because she is very stubborn and will get mad if we tell someone. what should we do?

So my friend and I have been planning this backpacking trip for a while. We were in New Zealand for a few weeks. Now we are in Sydney and the plan is to continue north through Australia, up to Indonesia and continue through rest of Southeast Asia. However some 3 weeks ago I met this amazing girl. I have never met anyone like her and I have fallen head over heels for her. We were suppose to stay in Sydney for only a week but I have extended it now to over 3 weeks, because of her. Sydney is expensive and it is eating away at our budget. My friend is not happy with me. He told me he is going on Sunday north with some people from the hostel. With or without me. He is quite pissed at me because he feels that this trip was our thing. Something we have planned for over 2 years. I don't want to lose my friend and I do want to continue this trip. But at the same time I want to find out if there is anything between me and her. This might be something. My friend said: "I can't believe you are risking our trip, even our friendship, for some girl you have know for a few weeks. Quite frankly I find this insulting. 2 years we have planned this. This was OUR once in a life time thing". I don't know what to do here. I feel like a douche no matter what I do. What would you do?

My friend is picking me up using her mom's car, so I'm trying to decide if I should offer gas money to my friend or her mom. I'm conflicted because my friend took the time to come pick me up, but it's not her car that is being used.

So, I basically just started 1st grade on something we call Videregående in Norway where I have extremely few friends but there are a lot of people. I have been going there for about a week at this point and I feel like I don't have anyone to hang with while I am eating lunch etc... I have like one friend who also doesn't sit with anyone or is in any group. Now this has become really awkward and boring at times as you can imagen. BUT I FEEL LONELY AS HELL! Now I just wanna let you know me and my friend are two completely different people (except for the confidence part, he is cocky as **** lol) and he doesn't sit with anyone either. Now my question is. What am I supposed to do? Should I just not stress about it? Should I ask someone I don't really know well to sit with them? I guess I expected people to a bit more open you know. I am 16 btw

Hey, I'm 13 and I'm not lying when I say I haven't had a single friend in my life. I joined clubs, tried socializing with everyone (albeit I'm pretty shy so it didn't work very well), and I tried jokes, but none of it worked. I tried talking to people every day, whether in real life or by text. I tried inviting them to as many events as possible, and they did come, but they never invite me, and plus, when I do invite them, they don't pay much attention to me at all, and just talk to each other. I even once invited everyone to my birthday party. They all showed up, they all ate my cake, but they didn't really care about me. I feel like they cared more about my brother, who's cool and popular. I even hid to see if anyone would try to find me, on my BIRTHDAY in my BIRTHDAY PARTY. Nobody did. I understand that it's okay to not be the center of attention, but this is ridiculous. That was my worst birthday. Then, I tried being friends with this one person. I talked to her every day. I usually initiated the conversations, but I didn't think much of it. I thought we were friends, and good friends, maybe even best friends. Then, one day, she told me she didn't really want to be my friend and the only reason she was talking to me was because she felt bad for me for never having friends before. How am I supposed to make friends? I've tried everything. I've made sure I didn't talk too much, and listened. And also said stuff about myself, but not too much that I'm over talking. Help ):

I recently showed a friend Ive been knowing some month how to the do the craft of resin. I am Hispanic she is Asian. Ever since I showed her it's been like a competition with her all ive ever wanted to do was have a crafting buddy but all she ever wants to do is shove in my face all she buys and the cool things she can afford for crafting that I cannot. She has an addiction to shopping and recently bought lots of molds like tons and stickers and everything. I want some lots of things but not at once I'm trying to open an online store so I am very couscous of my spending and of the things I make for sale. I always show her what I make and sometimes she will respond most times she wont and she will instead show off what she made thinking its better. If I buy something and she likes it she will always try to one up me on everything. She even gave a nasty look when she saw I had a Gameboy purse and she didn't. But now it's getting me mad because resin was my thing I though I would have someone to share it with not compete with. Now I just want to be better then her have better crafting supplies. I'm starting to not like what I feel it's not jealousy but more like rage I want more to beat her make her see I don't care what she has because I will be better my store will be successful. How can I limit my self from this? Art is my passion I do because I love it. The girl is nice and all but i'm not sure she realizes how bad she's becoming. I want to have hope in her. Because I don't have much friends. I've always wanted a crafting buddy. But what can I do not want to get angry every time she tries to show off or one up me. Plz any advice or even how can I put a stop to her if she keeps acting like this. Or how can I prove I can be better but in a good nice way. Thanks

I'm 16 and I made some really close friends at summer camp this year. I live on the east coast, and some of my friends live on the west coast. I have a friend that lives a few states away from me on the East coast, and we would like to fly together to visit our west coast friends and stay at their house during a school break. We're all pretty mature kids. However, when I asked my mom if I can go with my friend to visit them on the west coast, she said no way. Is this so unreasonable? How can I convince my mom to let me go visit them? (I'd also be paying for the airfare and everything myself) summer camp was 8 weeks long

Now, any time I go to karaoke I have to look over my shoulder because recently one of her friends tried to start a fight with me. I'm 53, these women are in their 40's. I've tried getting a restraining order but don't have enough proof. What can I do? And yes, I did try confronting her and was then confronted by the kj. She goes outside to smoke and people go with her. I need help. I can't take this anymore. I'm disabled and karaoke is the only thing I do that helps me feel better. This woman is manipulating people to the point of wanting to harm me. What can I do to stop this? Thought I should add that when the woman tried to start a fight with me, she approached me. I'd never seen her before that day.

Long story short, we got in a fight back in March. A few weeks ago I reached out to her and we started talking again. She said she wasn't mad anymore but we don't talk as much, hang out as much. Still feels like there is a rift there but could just be me. Things are not the same, and I'm not sure if I should continue with this friendship and hope it gets better with time, or forget about it.

I live with my best friend, both female. I am asexual and she says she is straight but has never had sex with a man. she's only dated men. we know everything about each other, say we love each (as friends), prioritize each other. things make me wonder if we could be something more. She always has to be near me and touch me, like she will sit next to me and put her foot on my leg or her hand will casually rest on my arm. She also has said that she wishes she could find our friendship with a man because then she would marry him. I text my friend to let me know things that happen in her life. For instance, I told her to let me know when she hears from colleges that she applied to, but she does not let me know. I told her to let me know where she end up going, but again she does not let me know unless I text her first. Why does she not let me me?

there is this man that started talking to me on a dating site...but we were talking as friends and he said he met someone from the site that he was going to date but he said he wanted to remain in contact with me to be my friend...I agreed to this so he called me a bunch of times last week saying he was in the area (he lives out of state) and he wants to meet me as a friend. I was busy so therefore was unable to message him back at the time. I finally called him on Sunday and left a voice message but he has not gotten back to me in any way, shape or form. What happened? I was going to invite him to meet with me and a friend of mine in a few weeks but he has not gotten back. He did not respond to my emails too. Did he lose interest? but why? and if he did, wouldnt he have lost interest when he met someone? why would he have done so now? please help me understand this? I am really confused because I thought he wanted to be friends..tks

The boy is 9 1/2 years old. When he was seven yrs old, at a birthday party with just the boys in his class invited, he preferred to sit in a corner, instead of joining his rowdy classmates. He is friendly with a soft, gentle smile. He is soft-spoken. During a field trip to the tide pools, he was scared to go through the bed of stones to look for sea life. He was the only one out of his class of 26 kids to stay away and just stand by the shore line and watch his class. His mom who came along to the field trip assured him nothing in the water was going to bite him and brought him to his group. At the same field trip, he opted to play with the group of girls,16 of them, instead of the group of boys on the other side. In school, he prefers to play with the his female classmates. He is part of a baseball team where his dad is a coach.

So my teacher sent home this syllabus for class and one of the questions for the parents was "what is one goal you wish for your child to achieve?" And my mom pt down "i hope he improves on his social skills because he tends to ignore people when approached because he's too shy to respond" and when I read that, it kinda hurt because yes in the past I was antisocial but this year and last year I really grew socially and now I have friends and talk a lot and I'm really proud of myself and I really went out of my shell and it sucks that my parents still think I'm an antisocial freak? And everytime I tell them that I have friends and I talk a lot they don't believe me, and that hurts because I'm so proud of myself but they don't believe me so it feels invalidating in some way? I used to work in a restaurant for 2 years as a line cook. I had friends at work but we never hungout. But now I work in a hospital and I feel like I have way more friends, and we always hangout. Why did I make more friends at the hospital then I did at my old restuarant job???????

Back in January I was going out with this girl Alyssa, but things didn't workout and we ended things in March. We decided to stay friends, but deep down I still have feelings for her.
