Question: Having trouble identifying boundary lines with former professor? Posted: 27 Aug 2018 05:51 PM PDT Okay so here's the story. I was really close with my English professor in college, I have been graduated for 3 years and have kept contact with him as friends over social media, text, and lunch. I'm going to be moving across the country for work, and I asked him to come visit me sometime. He agreed, but I'm not sure if it's appropriate to invite him to stay at my house in my guest bedroom- I don't want him to think I'm rude by making him stay in a hotel. Decent hotels are so expensive these days. I also don't want him to think I'm making a move on him or anything and weird him out because that could cost us our friendship. I PROMISE that we are just friends. Anyone have any advice on this? |

Question: Which person sounds crazier? Posted: 27 Aug 2018 03:58 PM PDT Growing up, someone meets a lot of different friends. They meet two who seem friendly and easy to talk to but over time, start to say alarming things. What would you do if such friends called or texted you wanting your friendship? Person A: Says they have robbed ppl at gunpoint and threatened to shoot them if they ran, saying they wouldn't feel bad Said they were going to "f*ck someone's dad" Talking about killing people (saying they "want to kill a pregnant nlgger bltch behind the counter of local gas station and on another occasion, stabbing women") Has been arrested for aggravated assault and child abuse Says they have tied up women Person B Says they have robbed ppl at gunpoint Made threats, although says he was joking, including a prank phone call from a blocked number and disguised voice Says they have killed ppl A third person says the person tripped a woman and smothered her face in a puddle Has stolen things Says they would rape a girl Punched people in the face to get wallet Says they know ppl who they have paid to kill |

Question: Is this normal behavior for an 18 year old boy? Posted: 27 Aug 2018 03:32 PM PDT A good friend of mine ask me if her 15 year old daughter Betty could stay at my home while they were on a 4 week cruise. I said yes but I thought I might have a problem with my 18 year old son. I did not want him to have a live in girl friend and I could not be home 24/7 to watch them. I talked to my son and he told me he had a girlfriend and he was not interested in ANY 15 year old girl even if he didn't have a girlfriend. I was a little worried but it turned out I was worried for nothing. When Betty moved in, my son became VERY protective of her just like she was the little sister he never had. He gave her his old cell phone and told her to call him anytime day or night that she was in a situation where some guy was pressuring her to have sex or where there was alcohol was being served and he would come and get her. He told her he was available to help her with her homework anytime she needed him. Betty thinks having my son as a good friend is wonderful. She has found someone she can share her innermost thoughts and secrets with. Since I don't have any girls I don't know if this is this normal behavior for an 18 year old boy and a 15 year old girl? Is it? |
Question: Do you think I have a hard life? Posted: 27 Aug 2018 03:01 PM PDT I'm pretty much alone all the time. There's about 10 people I talk to. I have one good friend. I have over a million in the bank because I'm pretty much alone all the time and there's nothing I really want that I don't have. |
Question: Poll: have you ever riden a motorcycle? Posted: 27 Aug 2018 02:24 PM PDT Not just as a passenger, have you ever drove one yourself? I have and I do it all the time, it's really fun. |
Question: I hate my brother for a multiple of reasons and i dont know what to do about it.? Posted: 27 Aug 2018 01:05 PM PDT I hate my brother so much and here is why: Always using me Giving me dumb excuses for me to bring his stuff like: im tired, i dont have gas in the car and no money (which he does) He is now telling me to bring his friends vape to him because his friend forgot it in our house He never apologieses or says thank you for anything i do for him He doesnt give a **** about what i say or care about He is very mean to me and my parents calling us bad words (even my mom which he makes fun of) Always trying to find the negative side of what i do When im upset about something he calls me an emo or bipolar I once twisted my arm falling down the stairs, he didnt help me get up or anything and just said why do you always fall down? After that my parents took me to the hospital and got a plaster for my arm. Im trying to avoid him as much as i can but the problem is he is in my best friends group chat and i cant just kick him out, i really do wanna block him from all the social media apps i have and avoid him irl as much as possible but im nervous. |
Question: How do you tell a friend that you don't wanna buy their stuff politely? Posted: 27 Aug 2018 01:03 PM PDT My friend has some "business" that she sells products for. So the business really isn't hers but she gets a profit from the sales she makes selling the products. I don't mind supporting my friend and buying things from her, however the products are REALLY expensive. I told her that they were pricey but she just explains why it is expensive and I do not think she is getting the point. she expects me to buy something. How do I tell her no, but not be too harsh about it. |
Question: How do I make friends in a sea of foreign people? Posted: 27 Aug 2018 12:06 PM PDT So I m in college now and it s the orientation period. I want to make friends but the majority are chinese and african-american. They hang out with their own races. As an Indonesian, I don t feel like joining/starting a convo. I may look chinese (I m a chinese descent) but I don t speak the language... What can I do?? |
Posted: 27 Aug 2018 10:51 AM PDT The sister is 25. I can't tell my friend anything personal when her sister is around because she is super innocent. My friend and I are 23 and we haven't hung out in a LONG time and we want to catch up but her sister now wants to join us for some reason. Her sister has done this since high school. How can I make this situation comfortable for everyone? Or am I just being mean? |
Question: Please help me I need some answers? Posted: 27 Aug 2018 10:20 AM PDT Ok so I feel smothered by my friend and she says I'm her best friend and she wants me all to herself because she tells me that I just need her as a friend and that she says she's the only one that cares but yet she's rude to me sometimes is she obsessed with me? It's like she can't get enough for me and she has other friends. I just had to finally tell her that I'm gonna be taking a break from my phone and she has respected that |
Question: I accidentally got flashed on video? Posted: 27 Aug 2018 10:15 AM PDT Swimming with my friend, i spun around in the water and accidentally flashed and it said 156 views.. some guy told me and i was like freakig out afterwards walking with a friend but its funny at the same... wtf do i do?? My friend deleted it though thankfully 🙄 |
Posted: 27 Aug 2018 10:06 AM PDT I like John James. He's promising a lot of good things and is a veteran. I'm not of any political party by the way. So, I don't factor in political affiliation of a candidate. When my friend and I discussed James and Stabenow, she said she would never vote for a black man and she's an avid Stabenow supporter anyway. This kind of upset me because I had no idea that my friend is this racist. What should I do? Should I stop being friends with her? |
Question: I want to switch my 4th period class with my 5th period class.? Posted: 27 Aug 2018 08:57 AM PDT I know it isn't a good reason but I want one class with my boyfriend and one with my friends, we have A days and B days where one day we have A day and then next day we have B. So it's at the same time, I don't know a good excuse other than saying I don't get along with someone in that class ( which isn't true ) what if they check into it or call us into the office? I don't know what to do, anyone have any answers or ideas? |

Question: I have been feeling smothered please help? Posted: 27 Aug 2018 08:09 AM PDT Ok so one of my friends that's a few years younger than me says that I'm her best friend but she is rude to me sometimes and friends are supposed to be nice to each other so anyway I know this sounds rude of me but I have blocked her number a couple of times because of her being rude and then she will message me on Facebook messenger and if I don't answer her on there she will message me on Instagram so I feel like she is obsessed with me and is smothering me but does it really sound like she is actually obsessed with me or just cares about me too much? She always says she's sorry after being rude but she still continues to be rude sometimes. I just finally told her a couple of days that I'm taking a break from my phone for awhile and she's respected that and hasn't contacted me since then |

Question: Is it ok if I don’t feel like constantly hanging out with friends? Posted: 27 Aug 2018 05:05 AM PDT Ok so I'm 15 and I do have friends, a few pretty good ones and we do hang out sometimes, but not every weekend. I don't need so much social interaction but I still want some, like most people my age constantly are with friends and want to hang out all the time and they really like it but I can do without it. I'm not shy But it's like I want to be by myself and recharge THEN I want to hang out and I still can have a good time, I just don't need so much of it. |
Question: Why is this girl sending out mixed signals? Posted: 27 Aug 2018 05:02 AM PDT So I've known this girl for 8 months. We never started out as friends. She was all over me and into me from the beginning. We went out a lot together, such as lunches, dinners, bars etc. we also went food shopping once a week together. We had sex and messed around quite often. She would always show affection towards me. She even told me she liked me to my face on multiple occasions. She went away to study abroad for a month. When she came back we got lunch and dinner. I asked her out to be my girlfriend and she told me she could only offer her pure friendship right now, and that she wants to be alone. She also mentioned that she sees me more as a friend. Which is odd because 2 weeks earlier when she was abroad she texted me saying she wants me... Anyways. Fast foward a week from her telling me this. she's been texting me non stop. Saying good night to me and stuff and being flirty. We even hung out in person and she was getting really close to me and kept rubbing her body against mine and laughing at everything i said. She invited me out for her birthday and she told me her she invited her friends too. So I went. I sat next to her and she kept leaning into me and touching me. Even feeding me her food with her fork. Also when I left we just hugged and kissed on the cheek but she held on a little longer. Its just all very confusing. |
Question: Is it normal to be friendless for years? Posted: 26 Aug 2018 10:58 PM PDT I haven't had friends int he 3 years since I graduated from high school. All the friends that I did have all went their own separate ways and we weren't really that close enough to keep in contact with each other. I find that it's way too difficult to connect with others. It's almost like I don't have all that much in common with most people and that there's a riff between me and most people. I just want to give up on life and not have to worry about anything anymore. |
Question: Need help with a broken friendship? Posted: 26 Aug 2018 10:01 PM PDT this is gonna be kind of long but I really do need help I don't know what to do... There is this girl, let's call her Sophia. Sophia put her trust in me and told me everything, I was basically her "person". A couple weeks back we were in a group chat chatting with 2 other people and we were talking about Sophia's crush, I wasn't following and I randomly asked "could I tell him that you like him" and then Sophia replied with "yes sure go for it" and so I did. But she wasn't talking to me, she was talking to the other people. I told her crush and when I went back into the group chat and told her that I told her she was all surprised and panicky. I read what I didn't read before and realized she wasn't talking to me. So I quickly told her I was just joking with her. Early this morning I woke up to a paragraphs of rants about her fake friends and I did what I always do, my job as her "person". Anyways a couple hours later her crush told her that I told him she likes him. She got mad at me and isn't talking to me at all. She then goes on to Instagram and makes a post with a caption "real friends = fake, trusted them and they used me" and I didn't know what to do and what to say to her.. |
Question: Why did this happen? Posted: 26 Aug 2018 08:54 PM PDT Ok so I'm a 26 year old female and I was hanging out with my best friend one day and we were in her car at my house and she had come to drop me off and we were talking and she held my hand and we kind of got close to each other and it looked like we were about to kiss and she's a lot older than me and she has a husband so why did that happen that it looked like we were about to kiss? |
Question: Am I a loser for not having a car in senior year? Posted: 26 Aug 2018 08:33 PM PDT I am 17 years old and a senior in high school. Everyone in my grade has a car except me, and so do the kids in the grades below now. Most of them had their parents get them for them, without having actually earned or deserved them. My family can t afford that, though. I have to pay for everything myself, but that s kind of hard considering I work at a fast food restaurant. I even have to pay for behind the wheel myself (which, thankfully, I *have* saved up money for, and I start next week). I know it s more worth it in the end to pay for everything myself, but I can t help but to feel like a loser. Everyone around me has a car and can go wherever they want and have fun, while I have to stay at home because I have to rely on my parents for transportation, and we only have one car. It gets really lonely after a while. Not to mention, I get made fun of at school because I can t drive, and I m stuck on the bus every day as the oldest person on there. I don t know how to stop feeling sorry for myself. I feel like such a loser... |
Question: Why do people act like they’re so much busier than others? Confused? Posted: 26 Aug 2018 08:28 PM PDT My roommate and I get along pretty well, but one thing about her bothers me. She waits until the last minute to do everything, then turns around & acts like she's so much busier than me. I do every assignment as soon as I get it, and I have harder classes than her because I'm a junior (got my AA via dual enrollment when I graduated high school). We do things together a lot, but sometimes she'll say "oh I don't have time for that I'm so busy" "I have this due at midnight" like what? I have a lot to do, but I get it done early because I hate procrastinating. She even complains about having to wake up "so early" when she's asleep when I leave for classes at 7 am. How do you respond when people act like they're so much busier than you? I've never once acted like I was better than her so I don't get where this is coming from |
Question: Is it odd that I don’t have any friends? Posted: 26 Aug 2018 08:27 PM PDT I'm 25 yrs old and I've never really had any friends. I was a loner in elementary school and middle school. High school was a bit better, I had friends I hung out with during school but as soon as school was done for the day, I didn't hang out with anyone. College is the same thing, I don't really talk to anyone, I'm really bad at making friends, and if I do start talking to someone its usually on the last week of the semester which after that we usually never see each other again. What I mean by "friends" is people to hang out with, movies, venting, stuff like that. I have social media "friends" but I never hang out with anyone. Every weekend I just hang with my dog and watch everyone else go out with friends. I feel like thats odd but I also don't know how to fix that. How do you make friends? It might have to do with the fact that I'm VERY introverted. I'm also gay qnd don't really like typical "dude stuff" like sports and cars and other "dude" things. I don't know, sometimes I think it would be nice to have friends. |

Question: Why does she only cuss around me? Posted: 26 Aug 2018 06:01 PM PDT My best friend and I are very close, weve been friends for several years. I'm in my 20s and she is a bit older than me. She always cusses around me, which is no problem haha I sometimes do it to (but she gets mad at me for it because I'm the "sweet" one and she doesnt like hearing me cuss)... We talk daily, well today I said the "F" word, and she said that I shouldn't say it because I'm the sweet one haha, which i agree.. then I brought up how she always cusses in her conversations with me (not in a mean manner) just in daily convos. She said she always cusses when shes with me but not around anyone else, she doesn't know why... why does she only do it around me? |
