My boyfriend is 35 and is a single (divorced) dad. He has financially problems and a lot of debt but he does not watch his spending (goes out to eat with his son a lot, goes on trips, to movies, shops for groceries at expensive places, etc). He also works only part time for his uncle because he's a stay at home dad. His mother will often give him money, buy him clothes and groceries, etc even gives him extravagant gifts such as vacations. She even gave him money to register his car because he did not have it. He was wanting me to move in with him but I am financially set and make good money and work a lot of hours. Not sure I want to take this on unless he changes some of his habits. Part of it is his mother enables him. Is he too old for his mom to be buying him so many things and bailing him out? He also told me he wanted me to go on a family vacation with him to a wedding but his mom is paying for his ticket (she is going) and I would be paying for my own. It feels weird. Is he too old for this?
