This is the first time he left they've gotten in bad fights before where he said he leave but he didn't leave. The problem is my mom loves him a lot to calm her down everyone keeps saying oh he come back tonight. I spoke with my dad thou and he told me he won't come back tonight or again and he done. No one cheated they got into a fight over something stupid. I saw the whole fight. The thing is my dad wants me to break it to her that he isn't coming back tonight and I can't do it I know it will kill her what do I do. I am having dinner with my dad tonight. I just wish he come back home. |

Question: Family cannot accept I have a boyfriend? Posted: 13 Feb 2017 02:03 PM PST I'm a senior in college. I have such a wonderful relationship with my boyfriend, but my mom does not view it that way. She found I was texting "inappropariate" things to him. As a legal adult, I may choose to talk about sex with him if I wish. My other relatives now think I need therapy because they view this as abnormal. Please offer me advice. I do not know how to deal with my family's behavior. They are behaving immaturely and do not understand the connection my boyfriend and I share with one another. |
Posted: 13 Feb 2017 01:58 PM PST Ok so my little brother is 11 I m 15 and everyday he argues with this kid from the bus as we walk back home who is 10. Today the kid started insulting my brother and I my brother just insulted him back then the kid raised his hand to my brother and knocked stuff out of his hand etc. I yelled at the kid and he ran away then I yelled at my brother for also insulting him when he could have just ignored him. Have I made it worse for my brother ? Do I have him tell the bus driver or something? Should I not have stepped in? Idk I usually don t get involved in their little fights but today he actually touched him so I decided to step in. |
Posted: 13 Feb 2017 01:49 PM PST I have asked people to stop and they turn it around and ask why I don't do anything about it. I work 40 hours a week and don't have time. Last time we went to the doctor she was weighed at 210. She is turning 16 this spring and shes roughly 5'6'' tall. I know its a little chubby but I don't feel its anything to worry about. I am considering getting snappier and angrier the next time someone says something. What else can i do to stop the ridicule? |
Question: Reason you come up with for not having kids? Posted: 13 Feb 2017 01:26 PM PST So i have a question here about kids. Is the decision to not have kids based on how much mortgage payment is left, we are currently very busy no time for kids, job, etc sounds like a valid reasoning? I have seen couple friends of mine have kids even though the husband is out of job for over 2 years now. Hence was wondering if it's just the mutual agreement between husband and wife that it's time to have kids or people usually weigh in mortgage, job, etc before they decide and it's normal? I feel like your body, menstrual cycle, age weighs in more than mortgage, job, etc. |
Posted: 13 Feb 2017 01:15 PM PST I'm a 15 year old female and I personally think that dating at any age is a waste of valuable time, right now I am happy just focusing on my studies and later on in my life I have a plan to focus on my future career, I don't ever want to be in a relationship. My mom however is constantly asking me about boys and dating which makes me irritated because I've tried telling her about how I feel about boys/relationships and she completely ignores me and compares me to my older sisters who started dating at a young age and tells me that I better start dating soon if I ever want to be like my sister's, but I don't want to be anything like them because they both were teen moms. |
Question: My family keeps putting me down. How do I deal with this? Posted: 13 Feb 2017 12:50 PM PST So I guess I shouldn't technically sat "family" because it's more like just my two brothers, but they are constantly putting me down over small things and it's really starting to annoy me. My dad used to be really bad about that type of stuff back when we all still lived together. He would harp on us over very little things sometimes and it caused many arguments. I'm starting to think some of that rubbed of on my brothers because they tend to chew me out over the tiniest of mistakes, and I can't fight back because that usually only fuels the fire even more. They are bother older btw. I'm 22, they are 27 and 28. We all currently live together in my mom's house. Anyway, I could really use some advice on how to deal with this. We all have a pretty good relationship all around. It's just when I make one little mistake or we have the tiniest disagreement, I am suddenly a "stupid, lazy, piece of sh*t that no one likes". |
Question: I wanna be nude at home isnt it my right? Posted: 13 Feb 2017 12:36 PM PST I live with my mom and sister. When im alone i get naked and feel comfortable with it. But when they two are at home i have to cover up. I wanna always be nude at home but i fear they go mad. Actually i did it once but they shocked and my sister threatened to shoot nude photos of me. Isnt it my right to be nude at home? How can i convince them? |

Question: Why do my parents always insult me and my choices? Posted: 13 Feb 2017 11:45 AM PST I wanna join the Marines because I wanna protect my country and the people I care about, but my mother finds the idea to be stupid and detests me for it. I m well aware of what can happen to me on the field, and I m willing to take those risks if it means my country can live to see another day. I tried to explain this to my mother, how I want my family and home to be safe and sound, knowing that I ll protect them, but she still insults me and my decision. Why does she do that and how can I get her to lay off? |
Posted: 13 Feb 2017 11:23 AM PST How can I get them back together? I have Santa Claus and he didn't do it Christmas either. If they love me they'd get back together. |
Question: My dad lies and ignores what would create such a despicable person? Posted: 13 Feb 2017 11:21 AM PST My mom had no choice but to divorce this pathological liar. We can't get them to tell the truth and I haven't spoken to him in two years. What a great such an evil soul |
Question: My mother refuses to let go of grudges. How might I motivator to forgive? Posted: 13 Feb 2017 11:20 AM PST For example one person she's not holding a grudge against can make a mistake and she can say oh well that wasn't very nice but it happens. I love the person she holds a grudge with can do the same thing and she acts like the person raped and murdered one of her family members when all they did is the cover off of the conversation or cut her off in traffic. So she's forgiven and one half and not the other half I'm on family. It's you're in or you're out and nothing in the middle of her eyes. How might I motivate her to change now that I'm an adult? |
Question: Jesus is this my mum's family? Posted: 13 Feb 2017 11:15 AM PST Are these my Nazis? Romantic Nazis nevertheless. |
Question: How do I deal with clingy mother? Posted: 13 Feb 2017 11:14 AM PST My mother and I live on different parts of the country. We're in regular email contact, about 3-4 times per month, so usually once a week or a little longer occasionally, or more often if the need arises. I'll also send her news articles etc. that catch my eye. In addition to that we'll also phone every couple weeks to catch up on what's going on, family members etc. From time to time she can be a bit clingy, like a couple days after a phone call or email she'll email again saying "I haven't heard from you in a while", and I'll think to myself "What is she talking about, we just spoke 2-3 days ago". I don't feel the need to stay in such frequent contact especially when nothing has happened to warrant a call or email since the last one a couple days prior. I don't check email on the weekends, and today I check it and there was one she sent last Friday, only FOUR days after our last thread of emails. All she said was "Please check in". I feel like she's being clingy and pressing me and I resent it because I don't see what is so urgent (if there were something pressing she'd just tell me in the email, or pick up the phone and call). I HATE being pressed like this and resent it very much. It feels very clingy which only makes me want to communicate with her less. How do I tell her to back off, and set boundaries without being harsh? She's in her 70s and quite active, I'm in my 40s. She's re-married and they live in a retirement community with lots to do. She isn't the type to sit around the house. Whenever I usually she's out doing some activity. But the clinginess has to be addressed I feel. She isn't the type to sit around the house. Whenever I usually she's out doing some activity. But the clinginess has to be addressed I feel. Also she has a sister, my aunt, and in the past has complained to me that her sister hasn't returned a phone call. My aunt is very active and busy, and as far as I know their relationship is good. But numerous times my mom has complained that her phone calls aren't getting returned regularly or quickly. IN general my mother has a tendency to press people to do what SHE wants them to do. And when someone doesn't perform to her expectations, she complains about them. I feel like something needs to come to a head. |
Question: I m 15 and I hate it at my dads because of my stepmom can I choose where I live? Posted: 13 Feb 2017 10:39 AM PST I m 15 and I hate it at my dads because of my stepmom, I m pretty sure the only reason we are over there is for the tax refund, my brother s and I love our mom and dad but we never see our dad and he is never home when we are so we are with her all day never see our dad and they aren t even married |
Question: Why does my extended family try to spoil me so much??? Posted: 13 Feb 2017 10:33 AM PST Every year, my parents, my brothers, and I visit our grandma (grandfather passed away years ago), uncle, and aunt. I come from a Vietnamese culture, so some of this stuff will not be familiar to the people reading this. My aunt always offers me like $100 and I always politely reject, but they give me it anyways and my parents make me feel guilty about it and I'm like, "What was I supposed to do?" If I said no, my parents would say it's rude. If I took it (which I did), they give me a hard time about it. And my aunt always offers me food like when I was a baby. I like eating, I'm pretty strong for my age (16 years old), but they always offer me food constantly. It's kind of annoying. Why though? I don't see white people's extended families spoiling the hell out of them. Like just let me do my own thing. I appreciate that they love me, but sometimes it just goes to the point where I become depressed. |
Question: My mother is abusive to me and narcissistic. How do I get emotionally detached from her? Posted: 13 Feb 2017 09:41 AM PST Right now 2/3rd of my day is spent thinking about her even though I only see her once a month. I am the "other child". There is my sister she deems evil and the sister deemed Godly. I am the "ordinary" one. Not great but not bad. I am the forgotten one. Yet it is all I find myself thinking about. I have no Dad as he died from alcoholism when I was 12 and I was 5 when I saw him last. I am a boy and age 27 |
Posted: 13 Feb 2017 09:39 AM PST He and my mother are weight and exercise freaks. Mary----My Dad declines doing things with me due to my mother. |

Question: How do I get my dad to stop screaming at us all day? Posted: 13 Feb 2017 07:43 AM PST All he does is yell at us. He works hard all day when he comes home he find something to yell at us for. I am 14 and I'm scared of him and I know my nine-year-old siblings are scared to death of him. My older brother does not seem to mind as much is 17. My dad's parents were not like this so I don't know how my dad got this way. |
Posted: 13 Feb 2017 07:37 AM PST He's dumb things like stolen thousands from my parents in order to give handouts to his friends. He's done drugs and even got addicted to them for a time. He sleeps with every girl he meets (not literally every girl but a lot). It all comes down to a need to impress people after being bullied in early grade school and our parents divorce affecting him negatively. Is this halfway common in teens and young adults and do most outgrow it? He is 22 right now. |
Question: I made my sister cry ? Posted: 13 Feb 2017 07:01 AM PST My sister is very upset with me. I made her watch a movie with me that scared her. I can't tell her it was just a movie because it was based on a true story. She's afraid to go outside she's afraid of being kidnapped. I feel really bad for scaring her. She loves being outside but now she's afraid. We live way out on a country road where almost anyone can find us. We have a big drive way we have to walk up to the mailbox she's scared to walk up and get the mail but she loves doing that. How can I help her feel better ? |
Question: How to share room with a four year old? Posted: 13 Feb 2017 05:29 AM PST Basically we have 1 bigish room with a curtain separating the two halves. My two sisters are on one side of the room and me and my brother are on the other side. He always makes a mess and he throws all his toys all over the floor and my mum always defends him because he's seriously underdeveloped. I'm going through my GCSE's and I never have time to study because its always loud and I have to spend so much time cleaning up after my brother and also I have Asperger's to make it worse. I really don't know what to do it cant go on like this. |

Question: Is this molested again? Posted: 12 Feb 2017 11:02 PM PST I feel like I hurt my mom because since I was young like 4 my grandmother were do sexual things to me and I gave in even though at one point I know it was wrong. It stop for a little while then when I was around 11 it started again and I push for it, then when 15 one night my grandmother comes up to me and she says I'm trying to save this porn video can you help me, at first I back away but then I gave in because she kept asking, after that it was like something came over me like my grandmother is a witch that later on I came to her to help her with the porn and after that we were touching ourselves and each other a little. After that I wanted to kill myself and she on the other hand was fine. I felt like I hurt my mom, this lady has molested me and I did push for it at times and I don't understand what happen this time |
Question: Nothing to look forward to? Posted: 12 Feb 2017 10:20 PM PST Breaks my heart to read posts on here by 12 year olds who don't feel loved by families and can't find reasons to go on. I'm 61 and feel same way. Failure as father of teenage son, narcissistic family saw me as failure and didn't want to waste education on me unlike successful sister . Always felt like pariah. On SSD, (so despised) never had career. Looking at downward trajectory of living out remaining years in poverty and declining health. Now Trump president. He at least doesn't have to die in poverty. |
Question: Ex mother-in-law still angry after two years? Posted: 12 Feb 2017 10:12 PM PST 2 years ago I dated a younger woman for about a month. But broke it off because I found out that we didn't match. It angered her, but last summer I meet her and wished her the best of luck and she smiled back. And now I haven't seen her in six months. Possibly she has moved from the city. Yesterday I was at the local shopping-center and then bang there her mother. She continued to stare at me, but didn't say hello. Since I have moved on, then I didn't say either. I have nothing to do with her daughter anymore. So why would her mother still be angry? It has been TWO YEARS? Mental illness? |
Question: Need advice on job hunt(Please read carefully)? Posted: 12 Feb 2017 10:12 PM PST So I m a 24 year old college graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Business Entrepreneurship butbI have one major problem: I can t find a job. Why you re asking? Well for me it s not as simple as it is for most others. I have Congenital Glaucoma which prevents me from driving a vehicle. I have to elderly parents in their mid seventies, one of which has LUPUS and is in really rough shape. Even though my other parent won t like to admit it she needs me there to help her(basically an unofficial caregiver) because the situation isn t good. There is public transportation but it s horrible to be honest and I ve never used public transit a day in my life and to be frank I m sure I ll get lost one day. God forbid if one or both of them were to die or be hospitalized I think I could hold up doing stuff like shopping and stuff like that because there s way around that but I want a job(even if part time) to make sure the bills are paid and be able to get good and so on. I don t want just any job like a Burger King or such because I feel like I m overqualified for that. I wold prefer freelance or an at home job(that doesn t require me buying a phone). You know something like that. I know it sounds like I m being picky and I hope all this makes Sense I m just a little worried. Any help/suggestions are appreciated! Thanks in advance Let me clear this up since people are confused: When I say buying a phone I mean NOT having to buy ANOTHER Landline phone. I have a cellphone and the house has a landline but that can't and won't be used for an at home job. and the public transportation in my area is unreliable(that's what I mean by awful) and jobs need you to be reliable. |

Question: Should I meet my father for the first time? Posted: 12 Feb 2017 09:42 PM PST I have never met my father before, I recently found his Facebook page. And I also found out that I have younger sisters. I have not notified him, he does not know that I have seen his Facebook account. But I am not sure if I should meet him, I do not wish to show up and ruin everything for my sisters. As it could mean that things heighten with his wife, and I do not wish for my sisters to have to grow up like I did without a father. Any advice? Thank you in advance. |

Question: What are some words in other languages people call their grandmother? Posted: 12 Feb 2017 09:17 PM PST My mom thinks she is too young to be a grandma and doesn't want to be called anything with a gran or gram, mamaw, GG... And doesn't even refer to her soon to be born grandchild as her grand baby but instead her 'super baby.' ... She says when she had me, her folks were older and married but I called her out on that by saying in fact her mom was the same age she is now (35 but her mom could of even been 34 at the time) back then and the only difference is that they were married, and that she was way younger than me (15) when She got pregnant. I also noted that she is going to still say she is too young when she is in her 40s later on when I am in my 20s. So it is kind of like you get back what you set out type of thing. Keep note though that even though I am 18 going on 19, I live on my own with my husband, we do not depend on any of our folks, we are old souls, and I lost my virginity to the same man I am with, attending classes to get my degree, and my husband is a hard worker. Therefore we are not anything like 16 & pregnant, living with their mom, or disobeying anyone's rules. If my mom is too familiar with any word meaning of the word grandma she won't go for it. She won't even allow the same GG which is a short nick name others use but doesn't want the baby calling her that though. |
Question: What do you do when someone is sad ? Posted: 12 Feb 2017 08:17 PM PST My sister is in a bad mood right now she's feeling really upset. She came in my room having a fit then she laid on my bed and started crying she cant stop. I asked her what's wrong she said she doesn't want to talk about it. Shes really hurting right now. She said she wants to sleep with me tonight. What can I do to help her feel better ? Is it OK if she sleeps with me ? |
Question: Am I wrong for doing this to my mom? Posted: 12 Feb 2017 07:40 PM PST Whenever my mom and I argue, I like to go for a walk to clear my mind. In my opinion, going for a walk is better than staying inside the house with my mom, arguing even more. However, my mom thinks differently. She thinks that I am being rebellious when I go for my walks. But, I do tell him where I'm going when I leave, so I don't see a problem. Do you? Then, if I go to my room to cool off, she still gets mad at me. I'm 18. |
Question: Do my sisters hate me? Posted: 12 Feb 2017 07:22 PM PST I am a triplet boy with two sisters, were all fraternal. Were now 13 and used to be really close but now there always with one another and leaving me out of the picture. |
Question: I think my mom is jealous of me? Posted: 12 Feb 2017 07:21 PM PST I always noticed she tells me to not show off my body and when my dad always mentions my name she starts trying to change subject. Idk what to do honestly :( it hurts my feeling seeing my dad treating my mom like that and telling her you barely do anything in the house anymore you became old but i mean she does aloot of work during week and cooks alot but he isnt there to see and then i look like am doing work cuz i am only free during weekend to help 3 |
Question: My boyfriend gives way too much to his parents... help? Posted: 12 Feb 2017 07:17 PM PST My boyfriend spends so much of his own money on his parents when they do absolutely nothing for him. He pays his own car insurance, his own phone bill, and his own schooling. They do provide him a free space to live in his house, but do not provide him with food or even cable for his television. Both of his parents are employed, very capable of buying things for themselves... yet my boyfriend feels the need to buy everything for them? His mothers phone was acting up and she was complaining about it, so he goes out and buys her a new phone. (Isn t this her own job, or her husbands job to do?) Not only that, but he s bought his parents a TV for their room, a printer, and has bought his mom a computer. Don t get me wrong, I think it s sweet he wants to go out of his way for his family .. but it s all the time, and it s always on crazy expensive things. My boyfriend isn t even making that much money to begin with. He also doesn t seem to understand my concern with this.. he wants to keep buying them things, even though he himself complains that they do nothing for him. Does any one else see anything wrong with this situation? Can anyone provide me with some insight on how to deal with this? I personally just think my boyfriend should be saving his money for himself... to buy himself necessities in the future. |
Question: Should you listen to your parents or your heart? Posted: 12 Feb 2017 06:52 PM PST Me and my parents have totally different opinions. I talk about how when I leave the house I would be free. They (my mother, aunt and uncle, father is in Ethiopia on narcotics) tell me if I started working from high school I would get a minimum wage, live in a friends house and live paycheck to paycheck working at McDonalds for the rest of my life and life would be hard. I think that I will start small, and build. The only reason I'm considering going to college is because my mom keeps telling me I have to. So who should I believe? Them or myself? Am I right or am I just some ignorant 16 year old who hasn't matured yet? |

Question: Is it wrong that I got my brother to spank me? Posted: 12 Feb 2017 06:49 PM PST I'm sixteen and had been curious for a while what it felt like to be spanked because I know that some women like it and I thought it could be interesting. The thing is, I don't have a boyfriend, don't want one, and hate pretty much all the boys I know. The other night when my older brother was home and when we were alone I asked him if he wanted to spank me. He asked if I was serious and I said yes. He then said that he would under one condition, that it stay between us. I had a really great time, but I was wondering if this was wrong. It's not incest or anything, it wasn't even a bare bottum spanking (I had underwear on). |

Question: My mother is severely ill but refuses treatment. what do i do? Posted: 12 Feb 2017 06:30 PM PST At the age of 40 my mother developed anorexia. She has been to inpatient hospitals and has even tried outpatient but nothing works. She is constantly angry and today i called the police on her for throwing a plate at me and hitting me but when the police came she lied and said she never did it. She is a pathological liar and me and my father believe that it's due to her anorexia. She doesn't go out to eat with the family because she wont be able to throw up. Being 14 years old a daughter shouldnt have to hear her mother throwing up and saying to her that she feels so fat. At this point me, my dad, and my grandma don't know what to do. She is 5'3 and around 75 pounds. Anytime you mention treatment to her she goes crazy. Is there anyway you can involuntarily force someone into hospitilization in the state of Kansas? Please give me ideas andd help my family. |
Question: I hate my home life? Posted: 12 Feb 2017 06:29 PM PST I can't stand living with my parents at home anymore. It's absolute torture to wake up every morning arguing and yelling at them. All they do is put me down and call me names. My father tells me nobody will ever like and and I'll never have friends. He also tells me I'll live on the street and I'll be nothing but trash. He even threatens to kill me. I hate him so much. He is pure evil and there is nothing I can do to stop him. I used to love my mother. Before my dad started working at home, it was much more peaceful and calm with me and her. She used to be the only person who loved me and ever since we got a dog, she's put more love and attention into a stupid animal than me. It's sad that I have to be jealous of a filthy animal because my mother doesn't give me love or care. She calls me lazy, filthy, and a pig. It not only breaks my heart, but it also infuriates me when she says that. I'm starting to hate her very much too. She does nothing to help me when my drunken father bully's me. She just stays in her bedroom and doesn't get involved while my dad beats the living crap out of me. The worst part is that I have no friends or any family. I have to suffer alone. I just want someone to love me. Why is it so hard to ask? I'm sick of being rejected and unaccepted because I'm not as attractive, athletic, or popular as the other gay boys out there who do nothing more but sicken me. I hate people so much. I feel so alone and depressed in the world. I don't know if I can go on. |

Posted: 12 Feb 2017 06:08 PM PST Okay so we were just watching tv (me, my sister, my brother, and my moms bfs daughter) its around 8 right now. He comes up to us and says, "Listen guys, I don't care what your opinion is but I don't want you guys going to the fridge eating. You can't go get food. Nobody is hungry right?" We all said no because we just got done eating. Later on like 20 minutes later he came again and said the same thing and his daughter said, "Ok but what if we get hungry/thirsty later? I'm not going to starve myself." He said, "Oh well I don't care, I don't want you guys getting food." I think that is just dumb and I'm going to tell my mom about it |
Question: Health: My moms friend has me worried? Posted: 12 Feb 2017 05:49 PM PST My dad the last few months looks like he's lost weight. He goes to the bathroom a lot. He promises my mom he's fine and he told me he's fine that he's stressed. His eyes are normal color and he eats just not as much as before. My dad stopped drinking 9 years ago after being an alcoholic for 30 years. Doctors said he's fine. He's just on medication for sleeping and for his high blood pressure. My moms friend mentioned tonight that my dad lost a lot of weight especially since he went through the transformation from being an alcoholic to being sober. Should I stop worrying? I can't help it. I love my dad and I'd like to think he wouldn't hide anything but my moms friend makes me think otherwise |
Question: Should I feel guilty for feeling resentment toward ADHD niece? Posted: 12 Feb 2017 05:26 PM PST I have a niece who is 10 years old but acts like a demon child (i'm sorry for being insensitive). I suffer from occasional migraines after a brain surgery 5 years ago and take heavy medication that makes me drowsy, so I need complete rest and take siestas in the afternoon. My mom was over at my house to help me with my vegetable garden and suddenly my brother and his child show up later. The kid always yells instead of talks, knocks things over and breaks things because she can't sit still and always barges into my room yelling like a maniac and jumps on the bed wanting me to get up, even though she has been told a thousand times why auntie needs her sleep time and not to wake me. I finally had enough one day and I screamed at my brother: "YOU AND YOUR STUPID WIFE NEED TO STOP BEING SUCH USELESS PARENTS AND TEACH THAT KID SOME MANNERS AND HOW TO KNOCK BEFORE ENTERING A ROOM!!!!!!!!!. Harsh and ugly words, but my nerves and patience are wrecked. Both my brother and my mom are angry now with ME. Why is it my fault that my brother and sister in law cannot discipline their ADHD child IN MY HOUSE and I'm the one that has to feel guilty about it? Very frustrating situation. Sometimes I wish I could live in another town and not be anywhere near my family. :( |
Posted: 12 Feb 2017 05:10 PM PST I have visitation with my son every other weekend. Pretty standard I think, I pick him up after school on friday and bring him back sunday evening. He lives with his grandparents on his mothers side because I kinda got pushed out after we broke up and then she moved to alaska and left my son behind. Anyway he is 8 now and sports is becoming a bigger part of his life which he participates in on the weekends. It has come up that he isnt being able to participate in all the games because I pick him up on friday and games are usually on weekends. I feel that going to games every other weekend is just fine and the time he spends with his father, sister and step mom is important. I have not currently agreed to give up our fridays but his grandma keeps bringing it up saying that my son is going to resent me for this in the future. Am I wrong to not give up friday? Any advice would be appreciated |
